@Gordian Nought Ah, I noticed your character in Royale as I was scrambling with my own sheet earlier today. Reading through it, I can see this is going to be interesting. ^^

@Gordian Nought

Greetings! Always good to have new faces. Like Harbringer said, healers are nice but it's not the only thing you need to do. Have fun and you'll do well!

Gracias, to all and to you, Harbinger!

I plan not to forfeit the game.
Before dragons take me out of my frame
And put my name to shame.

However, my character may have to cover up his face.
He may not be able to run the race.
The pace too fast.
Hope he just lasts.

Your welcome brings me glee.
Arigato, again, supremely.

Quite thoughtful, @Gordian Nought, just as is your character sheet from the brief of it I have read; trying not to spoil it all, namely. If you have not yet given them any consideration too, there are some added druid options made available recently, two of which might be of interest to you in particular.

And salutations to Phoenix and Lucius, as well!

Delicious as always, Harbinger! Allow my pupils to ingest this unearthed pdf. Many novel titillating avenues for our pirate! But which to choose?

Good thing Torus has proficiency in Arcana. :)

Much to my surprise as well, @Hekazu, my login now works again though I suppose that's fair enough given the updates the site has since seen. Accordingly, I have updated Brannor to better reflect these changes. No more worries there at least for the time being.

@Phoenix
The first strike will land, but not kill. I will assume the latter blow goes towards the same man then? As it looks like you wanted to hear the mechanical effects from me before finalising your post, I believe we will wait until you've done so before going further.

Yes, the second blow will go to the man. (I won't be able to edit that in properly until the same time tomorrow, though)

@Phoenix
No, wait, my mistake, he goes down on the first. I'll just move the latter strike to the last remaining opponent. Glanced through the notes just a bit too fast

@The Harbinger of Ferocity correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you also double the bonus multiply the bonus to damage too? That should be a +8 to damage, making a total of 26, if I'm not mistaken. I'll wait for Hekazu to post the result before I post.

I had thought the same of doubling the static modifiers initially, @Lucius Cypher, seems it isn't so though. I admit I am not too surprised that Fifth Edition went with much more tame critical hits.

Critical Hits
When you score a critical hit, you get to roll extra dice for the attack’s damage against the target. Roll all of the attack’s damage dice twice and add them together. Then add any relevant modifiers as normal. To speed up play, you can roll all the damage dice at once. For example, if you score a critical hit with a dagger, roll 2d4 for the damage, rather than 1d4, and then add your relevant ability modifier. If the attack involves other damage dice, such as from the rogue’s Sneak Attack feature, you roll those dice twice as well.
5e SRD

Dice only, but it does now affect Sneak Attack, Smite, Flaming and other variable sources of damage.

Ah, right. Well it has its pros and cons I suppose. No more crazy static damage bonus of 1d6+35 anymore.

It feels more fun to be honest, a bit more luck of the draw and much less brutal. Perhaps even survivable if it is not coming from an attacker with added dice.

True true, and it makes using big dice like a 1d12 more important since the bonuses are low and static. Though my pathfinder days still makes me seek out big bonuses whenever possible, within reason of my character.

The few times I've actually got to play myself, I loved critting on sneak attacks. So many dice! Given how builds always wanted their damage to be flat boosts instead of being based on dice (more consistent output, what's not to like?), this new thing just might shake things up a little, although I doubt it.

In any case, the combat situation is resolved! Now it seems to be mostly up to you to figure how to NOT leave a gap wide enough for enemy soldiers in the defences.

Oh, you are taking a captive? Let me roll his death saves...

Details will follow in my next in-game post. Now would be too early for one though, I'll be waiting for more entries.

@Hekazu, based upon what you said, he was only knocked unconscious by the blow. If that is not accurate, I will just change my post.

@The Harbinger of Ferocity
Indeed, he was merely knocked out. However, the attack was not declared nonlethal so there is certain chance he dies as per the usual death save rules. If you want to make changes to your actions now that I've elaborated, feel free to.
