Would it be an arcana or a history check to know more about dragons?

Well, one would use History if it was a particular known dragon or you tried to get your by comparing this dragon to one you have heard stories of. Arcana does not fit too well... I'd say it would be a difficult-ish Nature check, but History would be available if sufficient background of dealing with/studying about dragons was presentable as a reason to use that.

Let's say she used history then. I'm sure Parum would have read about ancient dragons in the past before, and she'd be drawing on that knowledge here.

Not that it helped when she rolls a 1 on the die.

Just had an idea, before posting.

Now, if Torus attempts to boost morale alongside Parum's music, could we roll a Persuasion/Performance check to "HELP" the NPCs with their Attack?

Unsure what they would gain since we have advantage from Faerie Fire. Maybe NPCs gain advantage against Frightful Presence or + 5 to hit. DC your choosing, perhaps.

Thinking outside the box is all, especially with the fittest remaining.

I don't think those that remain need any help, but if you want to try and bolster their fighting spirit further you are free to do so. In this situation, I'd almost call for pure CHA roll but there is a possible case to use Perform if one truly performs. Persuasion won't fit: The guards are already doing what you would want them to do, so there is no use persuading them.

I shouldn't be a liar. Sorry that took so long. On the bright side: Orchid finally managed to hit something!

@Hekazu Tell me if I miscalculated anything, I'm almost certain there's some geometry I'm not accounting for when it came to Orchid's jump and the actual distance of the dragon, but I'm almost certain that his rolls at least allowed Orchid to accomplish something. Otherwise he's gunna splat and find darkness envelope him.

I do not think there is anyone wanting Orchid to fail. Sure the attempt is potentially suicidal and at its very least foolhardy, but it makes for an excellent story and not what the writers I imagine had in mind. This encounter puzzles me some as it is, in that we are either missing everything or nothing about it. I reason this might change a few things, @Lucius Cypher.
