Hey @The Harbinger of Ferocity, if the cultists didn't spot you yet maybe you could get advantage for the sneak attack? Just a thought.
A thought that would be accurate. I did forget to explicitly mention it in the mechanics part, but nonetheless advantage is granted to attacks made against unaware enemies. That's on me.
Tbh I just sorta assumed we could get a sneak attack, since it's not as if any of us did a stealth check to get closer. Btw @Hekazu could Orchid drop his bow, pick up his sword and take out his shield, move to a baddy, and attack when my turn comes up? Since Orchid already took out his sword so he could just grab it off the floor after he takes his shot. If not I can just settle for him grabbing his sword, though I do wanna do sword+shield.
Darn. Well I guess he'll just charge out with his sword. I'm curious to know why it takes a whole action to don a shield, I don't imagine Orchid's shield is a type he straps to his arm, justs holds by the handle. That way he can easily toss it aside if he wants to two-hand his sword.
@Hekazu, @Lucius Cypher, unfortunately the attempt for advantage is none higher - being a four - but it was worth the roll regardless. All should be well now with Brannor's situation.
Right, I now have Parum with her readied action in her proper place in Initiative order and there should be no other immediate matters to address before Torus' turn. @Gordian Nought, the stage is yours!
As for the time it takes to don a shield @Lucius Cypher, do remember that a turn only takes 6 whole seconds. Any shield that is more than the bottom of some drunkard's wine barrel will need some time to adjust on one's arm for it to be really usable. Having it in one's hand does not necessarily equal having it angled well for defence. Doffing one also takes an action, but do keep in mind Use an Object is also a whole action. That includes pulling a lever and such.
Hmm. Maybe if I could make a request for specialized loot, I'd get a quick-quip shield or something. Or perhaps a buckler that Orchid could just leave strapped to his arm. Ah well, either way I can't wait till my turn! Kobolds or people, who to choose, who to choose...
I have updated the map to include coordinates. Please give the preferred location of your character. I will not be able to advance the plot tonight or tomorrow, so you have until Friday. Please excuse the delay, the department of computer science here in the University of Helsinki is having it's 50 year jubilee seminar.
Brannor should be moving south from the north, off the map, to C12, @Hekazu. The intent is to still strike with an opportunity attack if the enemy provokes from him, favoring the man at D11 over other targets.
Orchid is currently at C12, going the same way as Brannor (Heading south). He'll use the confusion to take down a guy and help Brannor or Torus as needed. I doubt the humans would be too much of a problem without their weapons, and I'm hoping we can scare the kobolds off somehow with a show of force.
Well, I'll have to say I am somewhat surprised to see that two of my players have yet to supply their locations. I would also appreciate Brannor and Orchid not sharing their square, since that sounds... difficult. DM post in coming soon.
@Hekazu, just move Brannor one square west. This isn't worth arguing about who was where or what after calling it. No less, I am not surprised at all that we are still waiting on others to post their grid location.
