Aisling

Aisling had been stricken with terror from the hideous Fae if the woman was honest with herself. The only thing that kept her from full out panic was the fact the Fall King had use of her, and it was well known within and without the Fall Court that what Falk had use of was not to be despoiled by aught. Lest torment be brought upon on heads connected with the one. As the Winter Queen made her entrance Aisling sunk into and held a deep curtsy. As powerful as Falk was, as useful as she was Aisling was not going to tempt the wrath of another Fae ruler.

That, and Falk had commanded her to woo the woman on his behalf. "Your Majesty, My Lord King of Fall does not consider the gender but rather the skills and the use." Aisling prayed she was not being too forward, but it was true. Were she a man she still would have been sent. Then again... If she was a man she would never be in this predicament. "I am called 'Born of ashes', 'Human', 'Mortal', and 'Girl'. As I am the only mortal to dwell within the Lord of Fall's Hall my name became... Unneeded." Shifting her harp as to not drop it, her voice slightly miffed due to the terror and the disruption of her life once more due the Fall King's whim. "Your Majesty, My Lord has said-" She trailed off with a embarrassed flush of color. "My Lord of Fall hasn't quite said. He sent me to play my music for Your Majesty of Winter." Aisling looked quite pale and wane remembering the laughing king. It was a horrifying thing when Falk was pleased, almost as bad as when he was not. "My Lord of Fall was pleased, indeed. If Your Majesty will forgive my forwardness...?"

Feoras said so much in his head that was not spoken out loud. In the long pause his mouth opened slightly as if he was to speak, but no words came. Do not do this. I still care. Please let me fix this. I...can't feel...i can't...but I want to try. Please. as his former queen left the softest voice erupted from him. "please" the word was barely there. Barely a whisper before he erupted in flames. His body became flame as he collapsed to his knees. The flame was a pinkish red in color as anger and frustration swept through him.

Then he stood and turned toward the ruler of spring. The flames go out in an instant as if blown out by a strong wind. Orange eyes bore into spring's as he inhaled. "Do you wish anything of me?" he had been all but ignored and while he did not care about fall ignoring him...winter had hurt much more. Something within him had cracked. This cracking adding to the ones already in place by the human he had felt something for. The cracks hurt...made emotions he did not normally have more prevalent.

For most this would mean he was vulnerable, but Feoras was one to make sure he was never vulnerable. Even at his weakest seeming, he always had his rage...his fire. His eyes suddenly flicked to yellow as an idea formed in his mind. His former queen could close off the borders to him...but the hearths would always be accessible to salamanders. At least as long as winter did not close them off. Of course for his plan the salamander would have to be small and quick in order to live through it, but maybe....he could do...something. Maybe transport himself....he had to think this one through carefully.

The salamander nodded and lit on fire. In the blink of an eye, it was gone. The salamander waddles quickly toward a female servant. She had deep garnet eyes and understood him. She knelt down, placed a hand on the back of the messenger, and was teleported back to the kelpie.

The woman stood and smiled at the kelpie. "Hello, I am garnet. My friend here tells me you need help? My leader is not here just yet, so unfourtunatly I am the only one available."

Arys

Arys studied the human before her. The fact that Falk had not given the human a name did not sit well with her. Every creature who had the mental capability to understand should have a name of their own.
"In my court you shall have a name little one," she said. "I shall call you Neoma. It is an old name having to do with the moon. You may accept it or reject it once you leave, but here that is how you shall be known."
The creatures of the court all murmured in surprise. The moon held great importance to the Queen so for her to give a human a name connected to it was a great honor. It made them all wonder just what this human was to the Queen.
In truth it was quite simple, Arys had not realized how much she had longed for the company of someone of beauty until the human was standing before her. Now that she had this breath of fresh air before her she felt the need to mark the event with an act of kindness and honor.

She sighed. "I thought as much. Males do not think things through as they should. Your Lord has made an offer of marriage to me, provided he can complete the challenge I have given him. In the meantime apparently you are to be a sort of gift of good will. I do not agree with this, but as long as you are here you shall be put to use," Arys shook her head when the human apologized. "I told you I wanted truthfulness from you. If I were to punish you for speaking forwardly then I would be a hypocrite. You shall continue to speak your thoughts because I command it of you. Come."

Standing, she walked to the archway that led to the staircase to her chambers. The court knew better than to attempt to enter the Queen's personal chambers.
Arys led the human to her bed chamber and gestured to crystaline chairs with cushions. "Your clothing is not appropriate for the harsh cold of winter. I shall have proper attire made for you," she said as she sat in one chair and offered the other to the human. "Now that we are away from the less desireable members of my realm, we shall speak at length. Neoma, I want you to be honest and frank. Nothing of what you say shall go beyond this room, I swear," Arys said, which was a binding oath to a fae. "Tell me truthfully, what is the Lord of Fall like at his court? Is he merciful? Is he just? Is he cruel and untrustworthy? Has he bedded you, forcefully or otherwise? I am to be his wife. I want to know what that will mean, what I should expect from him."

Humans were interesting creatures. Arys had heard from various sources that they reacted badly to imprisonment, but if shown kindness they could come to love even the most vicious of captors. So she would show kindness to this little one and see what loyalty she could inspire in her. It would help to have a silent ally before she ever entered the Fall Court.

Aisling

Taking the offered seat, Aisling was grateful for it. Though the human disliked the naming of herself, she was unable to refuse and be polite about it. The Moon was the object least associated with the fiery Irish woman. "I thank you for your offer, Your Majesty, and I will gladly take you to task for it." She dipped her head respectfully. "My Lord seems to have forgotten to arm myself against the cold of your realm." Settling back, she felt the spells wrote deep within her stir. Her Lord had his secrets, some she could reveal without meaning to. Thus the Lord of Fall had taken measures.

Beginning her tale about the Fall King, for it was the truth well and whole. Aisling was a shrewd and to the point person, something that the Fae seemed to enjoy in a dose from a Mortal. "My Lord of Fall is a just ruler. He is a bit excessive with his protection, but I have seen no hardship form it except a tad more work. And nae have I heard of Fall engaging in any wars of note, or any major breaches of it's borders." She nodded in agreement with this thought. "The Fall Lord is merciful when there is something to be gained, or when harsher punishments are not needed. Though..." She winced slightly from the last notable traitor who was brought to him. "I was accosted by several Fae who sought to feed off my mind whilst I slept." Her hands tightened slightly. Minute actions, but with reason from the sight of the rage upon that dark face. "My Lord of Fall was furious. I had just entered into your Realm and into bargain with Him. Needless to say, those Fae lay upon the throne when they fought him. Or within their prison, if they yielded, till His Lordship calls upon them again."

A blush fought up her cheeks slightly at the one question. "N-No, Your Majesty. My- The Lord does not 'bed'. Rather I ferry to and from the Mortal Realm." With a nod towards the supposed South and Fall's lands, Aisling continued with a slight cough to hide the unseemly flush. "My Lord of Fall would ask no more from you than what you could give. But, it may be all you can give that he will ask you for. I asked for a problem to be removed and so it was. My price was servitude and all I could give." She frowned slightly. "His prices are high, but he does not make offers lightly nor often."

The mortal eyes locked onto the Fae Queen. "You ask me what being wed to him means? You will have no enemies, you will have no wants nor will hardships bother you or your people. But there will be a price and that is absolute loyalty. Betrayal once is betrayal a thousand times over." She paused to let it sink in. "Should you betray him, should you seek to cheat him. Remember what happened to those far older, and far more ancient from days long gone. Each pelt lays upon his throne, each bone upon his throne." She gives the Fae Queen a soft smile. "Forgive me, but while I have not... with him.... You will have all you desire." The poor girl's face was as red as her hair.

Laira widend her eye's as the Salamander burned away infron of her very eye's. It did not even leave ashes behind.
She was about to walk away from the place, to start her search on her own when a voice pulled Laira's attention back. She turned around to see a woman standing together with the Salamander from before.

"Hello, I am garnet. My friend here tells me you need help? My leader is not here just yet, so unfourtunatly I am the only one available." The woman spoke.

''Pleased to make your aquantiance miss Garnet, my name is Laira and I am indeed in need of help. I am searching for a herd of Kelpie, I need to find one of them'' Laira said beginning to make a start on her search for Clyde.

'' Would you be so kind as to point me to where I need to go?'' Laira asked hoping she could go and search for him as soon as possible. She wanted her name back, she wanted to end things as fast as she could between her and Clyde. Old memories hurt, memories of old love especialy.

Lyra

Lyra looked unsure but took the tart Raven offered. After a tiny bite her eyes lit up. "It makes my mouth all tickle-y!" she giggled and took a bigger bite. She tried not to drop crumbs but she was four so that was nearly impossible. Still she managed to a reasonably good job at eating neatly, even sneaking a few crumbs to her bunny. "His name is gonna be Peanut," she announced, [color=f49ac2]"cuz he looks like the color of a peanut and he's small like a peanut."

When Raven spoke to her again her eyes widened. She'd gotten two presents today! The butterfly mesmerized the child, making her stare fully enraptured by it's fluttering wings. She was quiet for a few moments and stayed very still as Raven clipped it into her fair. The child slowly got down from Arethusa's lap, leaving her bunny in the safety of the fae's lap, and went to Raven, hugging her legs tightly. "Thank you," Lyra whispered reverently, touching the butterfly gently. She couldn't wait to show Ba-Ba! "Now I like three peoples," she said, stepping back after a moment and counting them on her fingers. "Ba-ba, Are and now Raven," she recited before reaching up and lightly tugging on Raven's hand. "Are you going to stay here now? I want you to stay forever. We can play and I'll be good I promise. Please stay?"

Arys

Arys watched the human's reactions closely as she told her tale of meeting the Fall King. She was rather disappointed in her words. It made the Fall King seem too good to be true. Often when something was too good to be true, it was. And the ones who had believed in such a thing were left gravely disappointed, if not dead.

"You mistake me little one," she said, waving a hand. "I do not seek gossip on how Falk behaves in bed. I seek to know what I should expect in dealings with him. You have spoken honestly, or as honestly as you are allowed to speak, so I will be honest with you in return. I do not trust Lord Falk in the slightest. But on the other hand I cannot turn a blind eye to what marriage to him would provide for me."

Rising, she went to the mirror above her dressing table, the glass freezing as she touched it. "Everyone assumes I am like the other rulers, wanting power and land and to rule over everything and everyone. But that is not true. All I want is to be left alone, to have no worries or fears, to enjoy my solitude without troubles."
It was the first time she had spoken the desire aloud. What magic did this human posses to make her reveal such a thing?
Well it wasn't the full truth. Arys did want more than what she had spoken, but what Arys truly wanted was not something she wanted to admit even to herself.

A few kelpies, the only ones allowed into the Queen's private chambers and only when summoned, appeared carrying warm clothing for the human. It was a gown made of soft grey fleece and trimmed with white fur, Arys' signature colors. A grey cloak was also brought along with warm shoes. Arys dismissed the kelpies and waved a hand towards the privacy screen that led to the room with the large stone and crystal pool she used for bathing. "Change your attire before you freeze. Then you will play for me. I am interested in hearing what music you can make with your harp."

Grexx

The little goblin trudged miserably through the borders. At least the Spring King had seemed to open the border between Spring and Winter for a time, likely for trade purposes.
Why had the queen done this to him?! Sure he had made a few mistakes... okay a LOT of mistakes, but surely that didn't justify sending him to Spring of all places!
Grexx kicked at rocks as he walked, pouting. The sun was too bright. It was too hot. The birds sang too much and too loudly. It smelled. The list continued in his mind as he grumbled under his breath. There must have been someone else she could have sent, someone better than him. Grexx?! The representative of the Winter Court?! He'd just screw everything up!

He suddenly came to a standstill, shocked at his own thoughts. This was an important job! Was he looking at this the wrong way? Did the queen actually have such confidence in him that she had chosen HIM for this important mission?
Feeling a sudden burst of confidence the goblin smiled broadly and stood straighter, puffing his chest out proudly. He'd prove that her belief in him was not in vain! He'd serve the queen well! He'd stand up proudly amongst all of the haughty vultures of Spring and show them what the Winter Court was made of!

A rustle in the bushes made Grexx scream in terror and take off running. Some kind of large creature with teeth appeared, chasing him. If he hadn't been running for his life Grexx might have been fascinated and started classifying the creature based on books he had studied, but he would do that when there was less of a chance of him being the beast's lunch!

Grexx shimmied up a tree trunk, holding on for dear life as the creature jumped and snarled at him. "Go away foul beast! Don't you know who I am?! I am the servant of her majesty the Queen of Winter!"
The beast either did not know or did not care as he simply renewed his efforts of trying to sink his teeth into the goblin's nether regions. Grexx yelped and tried to scoot higher only to start sliding downward.
"You don't want to eat me! I'm small and hardly worth the effort! I taste terrible! I'll give you indegestion! I'm too skinny! I'm all bone!" Grexx shouted at the creature, trying to convince the thing to leave him alone. "HELP!" Grexx called, praying someone with less of an appetite would hear.

Aisling

The Irish Victorian woman nodded with shy agreement. "All you would need do is to ask for such. He would see it done. Though... If I may be so bold? Expect unexpected visits as fancy takes him." Taking the clothes she retreated to another room with a blush a stammered explanation and thanks. "You are wise not to trust him. I certainly don't, but..." She paused her agreement as she returned to her seat shyly. "His word is good. Never has he broke it. Twisted it, but never broken." She pulled the harp to her lap and tuned it softly. "If I may. . . What type of music would you like?"

Fingers flickered through the string as she began to play a waterfall of music. Hands plucked and ran across the cords as she lost the focus of the Fae queen and poured it instead into the song. Music filled the chambers, echoing into the halls in a swirl of beauty. Aisling played decently, but the years of playing had lent her expertise few others had. She played for sorrow, the haunting sadness of being ripped from the mortal world. The thunderous notes of rage at being a tool to the Fae, and the soft and gently beauty of their realm. Her foot tapped out the beats steadily, keeping time as the Irish woman worked. Falk had told her to play, so play she would and play she did. The Ice Queen's Hall would no longer be silent.

Falk

A leaf floated on the mortal breeze, charmed by a whispering breathe. It spiraled and swirled about the ancient stones of Stone Henge. The two remaining Fae would feel the icy nature, the deep darkness of caverns, and the cold wind of coming frost. As the leaf fluttered past the seemingly distraught Feoras and spiraled away up into the blue and grey sky a voice followed in private tones barely audible to the Seasonborn's ears.

"Come, seek. For you do seem weak. To show such emotion to a fae of nightmares. Have care, have care." The voice was taunting and warning. A macabre dance of words. "Seek out wisdom beyond your years, for there are answers you wish to hear." The deep chuckle that filled the poor Fae's ears could only belong to one, and he sat upon his throne, books strewed about him and a goblet in hand. The light within his hall left most in shadow save the two gleaming eyes and the flash of pearly white teeth. The game had begun and Falk was calling in every moment's worth of attentiveness and drawing out each second of pleasure.

Feoras

Feoras tilted his head as he heard the whispers. He looked at the ruler of spring and choose his words. "It would seem falk has requested of me. If you wish to discuss trade you may send word. with that he slowly thought of the one open hearth in the castle of fall. He thought out his next move and burst into flames. In moments, he vanished and reappeared in said hearth. He journyed his way up to the castle and inside to find the fall King.

Water hit him as cooling rain water fell from above. From him it was rather undesired, but he took it. The walk was not too long and he felt the stares from the resident fae. Being who he was, he still knew that at any moment he could be attacked. Having lucked out in not being attacked he managed to find where falk was.

He carefully approached the rather gleeful king of fall and tilted his head. Orange eyes studied older fae. "Your words are wise. I would be foolish not to come." he gave a polite half bow. A show that he was respectful. He noticed how pleased falk seemed...and that told him to be weary and hide any other emotion he was feeling.

Garnet tilted her head and studied the woman before her. "I personally cannot. It is not in my place to do so. However, I can take you inside to wait for the ruler. He would know where some would be more then I would." garnet moved to guide Laira toward the castle. While the salamander moved to make sure Laira did not do anything wrong.

While she moved garnet spoke. "You must be tired from your journey. Some rest and refreshment will do you some good." while she was being nice, she sensed this one wasn't human. That made her a curiosity that was sure to get the Kings attention.

Nyx

Nyx sighed as Arys departed. He'd had more to discuss with her and as it happened Falk as well but they both lived by their own clocks. No matter, he could always send a messenger to their lands if the need for his questions to be answered became vital. Otherwise he would simply make his own queries into the matter.

With his former lover and her prospective mate gone Fearos chose this moment to speak. He was polite, asking if Nyx had need of him before he departed. It was a fairly Seelie trait. Those in Summer and Spring preferred to be civil and respectful while stabbing someone in the back. Autumn and Winter were perhaps not less subtle in their ways but usually much more brusque about it.

"Thank you Lord of Summer but I have nothing to speak with you about for the moment. Should that change I shall send word to your Court."

With those words Nyx stepped back and as was his power vanished into the shadows. Once out of sight Nyx touched a small wooden totem on a string around his neck. It was carved in the shape of a leaf from the wood of the World Tree itself. Yggdrasil did not often give up parts of itself willingly and when it did so only on very special occasions or direst circumstances. Of course no one, not even Cernunnos had been foolish enough to try to take the tree's wood by force.

Nyx whispered into the totem. "Yggdrasil please." The tree had the power to teleport anyone within the bounds of the Spring Court and a small distance through Realm Gates like the one Nyx stood at now. That was granted the tree was in a good mood. If it wasn't it would simply leave Nyx here. Not the end of the world but a bit of an inconvenience. "Yggdrasil?" He asked a little more insistently.

The totem grew warm in his hand. "Thank you old friend." Nyx said before he was whisked away to the Spring Palace... about a foot above the fountain in the main courtyard. Before Nyx had a chance to react He fell into the water below. The fountain was not deep but it was deep enough to drench the Spring Archon from head to toe.

Nyx grabbed the edge of the fountain and pulled himself out of the water. He looked up at the Great Tree overhead. "I have hedge shears you know."

The tree seemed to creak ever so slightly, like it was laughing at him. Nyx sighed. Might as well try to intimidate Stone Henge for all the good it was do him.
@BlackPanther

Leaf and Nyx

Leaf sat on the edge of the fountain staring up at the sky. One foot was in the water, feeling the cool clear substance moving over her skin. The other was on the ground roots extending from her toes into the earth. Suddenly the Lord of Spring materialized above the fountain and went crashing into the water.

He clambered out of the fountain and shouted an empty threat at the World Tree which had clearly dropped him off just short of his destination. The Great Tree's laugh reverberated through the ground though Leaf was the only one to feel it. In return a knowing smile graced her face as she looked at Nyx. "I do hope you were able to keep your head above water at the Moot my Lord." She said, her laughter apparent on her face though she made no sound.

At the sound of her voice Nyx turned to see the Fool of the Spring Court lounging by the fountain. Of course if the event with the fountain had to be seen by anyone it would be Leaf. She had the habit of showing up wherever she was least wanted though Nyx would admit that in times of need she was helpful. Most other times however she was simply annoying or obnoxious. She had a way of being able to twist words like a painter manipulates a canvas though as a Court Fool that wouldn't be surprising. Those good at their jobs had tongues as sharp as razor and no sense of fear to match it. Nyx sometimes wondered what the Fools in the Fall Court were like. It was set in fae law that the Fool had the right to mock their superiors and receive no retribution in return but Nyx had always been curious if their were any in Fall that would dare to mock Falk, whether they were protected by law or not.

Nyx shoot his head. "The Moot went as well as can be expected. Yggdrasil's sense of humor could use some work however."

Leaf smiled. "I'm sure a tree of such age finds amusement in many ways. You cannot be so old and forget the sound of laughter. Or perhaps in its years it has gone mad. Who can say what one of the ancients thinks."

Nyx shrugged. "I would imagine only the spirit of the World Tree has those answers. Alas who can know where he might be." Nyx shook his head, pushing the thought away. If the World Tree manifested itself it would cause a major event. Most likely the tree kept itself to itself and watched over those in its walls. "Leaf, is Pearl nearby chance?"

Leaf smiled. "Always." The Melial snapped her fingers and Pearl appeared not far off. She had been hiding rather securely amid the roots that curled around the create the central courtyard.

The fae smiled with a childlike innocence. "My lord is dark in thought today. Circled all round him like a cloud. Met and talked much but so little was said. How will it end?"

As usual Nyx understood little of what Pearl spoke though he always paid close attention to her words. She had a certain air about her, despite her simplicity Nyx had a strange impression that she new and understood much more than he let on and bits of this sometimes emerged in her speech.

"Well met Pearl. I wonder if you might do me a favor. Find Sini and tell her to meet me in the gardens. I am in the mood for a walk and I have a task for her."

Pearl nodded. "Far away from here." She said with a smile before running off.

Before Nyx or Leaf had the chance to say more a dryad can running through the gates. "My Lord he shouted "My brothers and sisters have reported a rather pathetic creature that has crossed over from the Winter Court. It is currently being held by one of the Cath Palug. What do you wish done with it."

Nyx sighed. "It must be the representative of Winter. The Archon turned to his Fool. "Leaf if you would be so kind, please bring him to the palace."

The Melial nodded. "As you wish my lord." There was something slightly mocking in the way that Leaf addressed him but Nyx had long ago put aside feeling any form of indignation at Leaf's actions. It was her prerogative to speak her mind in whatever form she wished. There was nothing Nyx could do to change that so there was little point in being annoyed by it.

Leaf vanished with her dryad cousin into the woods surrounding the palace. While Nyx started walking leisurely towards the garden, letting the Spring air and sun dry his clothing.

Pearl

Pearl skipped through the corridors and halls of Yggdrasil. She loved the ancient tree. Being inside it always gave her a feeling of fresh life an ancient authority though she knew most fae experienced these feelings as those of deep seated fear. It was normal for them to be afraid of those things that they did not understand and even more those things that were older than them. Pearl however was not even a little bit normal. In some ways she was like a small child and in others she was as old and wise as the tree that she now skipped through merrily.

No one gave her a second glance as she passed them. In her first few years she had been regarded as an odd sight around the castle but now she was simple Pearl, The Fool's Apprentice. The fools were allowed to do as they wished and so no one bothered Pearl about how she was. No one was even sure how much of her persona was an act and how much actually part of her personality. She didn't really care either way.

She found the Spring Knight Sini in the office of Captain of the Guard. Once upon a time it had belonged to her mother Duska but that was many years ago. Another occupied it now but Sini made use of it whenever she needed some space. It was adjacent to both the armory one of the Great Realm Gates located in the lands. This one was buried deep beneath the tree in the darkest parts of its roots but for those whom Nyx trusted it could be made to manifest in the great hall at the foot of dais that held Nyx's obsidian throne.

Sini was staring into space, her eyes lite with a dull yellow glow. Pearl knew what she was doing, as usual she was spying on the Moot or rather the empty plains of Stone Henge now. The meeting of the leaders had ended but this kind of magic took several minutes to disengage from and Nyx had only returned recently. Not caring to wait for Sini to wake herself Pearl reached her hands up besides Sini's temples. "Pop." She said happily as she snapped her fingers.

The yellow glow in Sini's eyes burst like a bubble as she was yanked back to her body. The particular type of scrying she was using, making use of another creatures eyes as surrogates for ones own was very effective but also complex. Simpler scrying methods like that of Nyx's basin at Ceridwen's grave were fairly simple but also not difficult to block. Stone Henge was shielded from many magicks leaving this form of translocation as one of the only methods to observe the spot. It was why the Heng was used for the Moot.

Still the downside to this magic was that it left the user essentially comatose. The would remain in the position they were in when they began the scrying and in most cases could still speak with their actual mouth making it effect for wartime scouting but it also left the user vulnerable. Usually it was made use of in war times when the scout was safe in the middle of base camp. Or in this case the office of the Captain of the Guard.

The way Pearl had broken the spell would likely leave Sini with a headache for awhile but nothing seriously damaging. She smiled at the Spring Knight. "Time to ride, time to fly. The King cannot enter his counting house till all the gold is accounted for. He waits where the wild things grow to say little but speak much." Pearl smiled as though she'd just given Sini a clear set of instruction.
@shylarah

Leaf

Leaf strolled through the forest at a leisurely pace. The dryad who had long disappeared back to his area of the forest had said the creature was being contained by one of the Cath Palug. Vicious and sentient cats of monstrous proportions. They were often the first line of attack when Spring went to war but in peace times they occupied themselves by devouring intruders in Spring's borders. However none was foolish enough to eat someone without hearing what the Archon had to say about them. They could after all be someone important. Eating wantonly usually led to misunderstandings and loss of life, most often the Cath Palug paid in tribute for the mistaken death. So for the sake of his own hide the great cat would wait for Leaf to arrive to pronounce judgement.

As she neared Leaf could hear the screams and whimpers of Winter's representative. Clearly not a very courageous creature. She kept herself out of sight amid the trees as she approached. She could see it was a goblin which had scaled a tree in an attempt to escape. Not a good choice for the Cath Palug could climb but more than that the tree it had chosen was not nearly high enough or sturdy enough to avoid any kind of attack. Obviously he'd panicked. Cowardly and not straight thinking. Leaf didn't have high hopes for the goblin especially considering he looked rather sickly and weak compared the brethren that Leaf had seen. Either this was a very clever deception or the Winter Queen had been looking to offload the useless fellow onto someone.

Leaf herself would have sent someone a little more competent than this tiny goblin to be her envoy into Spring. This was essentially her only opportunity to get a spy into Nyx's court and while both the rulers knew that their representative would be watched closely and shielded from any truly important information some learned in tactics and deception would be able to attain more information than the ruler wished for them to have. Leaf was sure that Nyx would send someone who looked strong to show his power but also honest so as to give the Winter Queen no cause to think of them as a threat.

Of course no one would mistake this goblin for a threat but that was plainly because he obviously wasn't one. Still it would be unwise to leave him unwatched at any point. But Nyx was already aware of this fact. He wasn't as foolish as his age or his manor might lead someone to assume.

The goblin clearly believed he was going to be eaten but Leaf could see from her hiding place that the Cath Palug was playing with him like it would food that it has not decided to eat yet. It was waiting for someone, her as it happened.

Deciding to put the poor creature out of its misery Leaf strolled through the trees into the clearing. "Poor little goblin hiding in a tree, too panicked to realize, too foolish to see." Leaf smiled up at the goblin who shivered in fear. Then she turned to the Cath Palug. "If you wouldn't mind Lanveir, he is Winter's envoy to the Archon's Court. I believe consuming him would cause undo stress between the lands."

Lanveir backed away from the tree looking disappointed. A disgruntled purr echoed from his throat. Leaf smiled. "Do not worry friend, if anything happens to Nyx's envoy while in Winter I will ensure that this one is delivered to you on a platter of finest silver." She paused for a moment to let that sink in for the goblin in the tree before she finished. "Alive of course, what fun would an already expired meal be?" Of course Leaf found the practice of consuming other creatures for sustenance rather disgusting but she was capable of fashioning her own food from the golden light of the sun and the nutrients of the ground. Other creatures were not so lucky and so Leaf tolerated their deficiency.

Lanveir seemed to smile before taking another step back to allow Leaf to approach the goblin in the tree. "Come down goblin. Have you a name?" Though she was a jester and a jokester in this instance her voice held a commanding air that demanded she be listened to or terrible things would befall those that defied her. It was not a voice she used often and never in front of anyone of power. No need to draw any serious attention to herself.

Liara followd Garnet, She enjoyed the warmth the sun gave her as it dried her cloths.
'' It is very beautifull and warm here, it is such a strange place for me. I have never been to the Fae realm before'' Laira commented. She hoped she could meet their 'leader' soon she as well could have her name back as soon as possible. She knew exactly what she was going to do once she was free. She would got towards london. Work as a nanny, then maybe marry a good man.

Laira smiled at the tought of living her own life again, not bound to chase Clyde.

Sunken in her thoughts Liara did not paid any attention towards her surrounding.

"You must be tired from your journey. Some rest and refreshment will do you some good." Garne offerd to Laira

''That would be nice, if it is no problem I would love to take on your offer'' Laira awnserd her eye's regaining their focus again. she looked around her and was more than stunned. The place was very beautifull. It looked like some sort of palace.

''wait, this... is this the palace of the Fae king?'' She asked having no idea of Fae politics whatsoever.

She was utterly out of words, where had she ended up going to this time.

Satisfied that the Moot had ended without issue, Sini was nearly finished with the process of disengaging from her kestrel spy when the Fool snapped the connection entirely. Her head protested the break, and instinct drove her to lift a hand to summon her sword. It was fortunate for Pearl that the spell had already been nearly undone, or the sylph might have been confused enough to attack a perceived threat. But even with a bit of disorientation, Sini was a quick thinker, and regained her wits swiftly. “Pearl.” She greeted the cheerful fey with a wry smile and got to her feet, spreading her wings briefly to shake them out and let them fall into a better position. “Would it truly have been such a burden to wait a little longer?” Still, the headache was manageable, and there was little point in lecturing the Fool. “I presume the Archon is sending for me?”

Indeed, that seemed to be the case. Sini had grown used to Pearl’s strange way of speaking, as the lady had been a fixture in court long before Sini was born, and she’d encountered the Fool often as a child. The wording and manner were always unusual, but there was invariably sense behind them. The bit about where the wild things grew was a touch unclear, but for that there was a simple solution. “Take me to him,” she said, in a tone that was more request than command, her smile a brief flicker and no more.

---

Pearl lead her to the gardens, where the Archon strolled as he waited. Sini fell in at his side, raising one eyebrow. “M’lord Nyx. I am glad you have returned safely, but you look rather wet. I don’t remember seeing any of the other rulers giving you a dousing.” She doubted it had been the result of a threat, once he’d returned to the Spring court and her eyes danced with amusement before she turned to business. “How went the Moot? What new agreements and concerns have we to deal with?”

Arys

The music that came from the human was surprising to say the least. The Queen raised an eyebrow at the obvious level of skill before her. It was little wonder Falk had sent the human to her. If this was how he intended to win her favor, he was off to a promising start.

And something unexpected happened. Arys' heart, long frozen, moved.
The movement was slight, but it was there. Arys frowned at the movement. The spell she had used, the mystic powers behind it unknown to all except the most learned fae, was crafted to keep the heart forever frozen solid. This... twinge... was not supposed to happen.
And it angered her.
"Enough," she snapped at the mortal, standing swiftly to silence her. Cold anger hardened her eyes. She turned away from the girl, a hand over the place where her heart should have been. The twinge was almost... painful...

"Is this what your lord sent you to do? To make me a weak simpering fool to fall under his boot?" Arys asked, acid in her tone. "My heart is frozen," she snarled, an icy wind overtaking the room, the furnishings becoming covered in a layer of jagged ice. "I am neither weak nor a fool. He sent you to break me down. No one can do that to me. Not ever again! Why did I ever agree to this? The heart makes you weak. It is merely a tool for others to destroy in their wake."
Picking up the frost covered rose, one of the roses Falk had left for her, her crushed it in her hand, tossing the blackened remains away from her.
She was angry, but beneath the anger was something else.

Fear...

Grexx

The little goblin stopped screaming when he heard a female voice. A beautiful female fae approached. Was she there to safe him or devour him herself?
When she so playfully threatened him with such a truly despicable fate he frowned darkly, which was hard to do when you were clinging to a tree like a coward. "Are all Spring Fae so lacking in manners? I am the representative of the Winter Queen. Even if you have little respect or regard for my person, at least show some decorom out of respect for that!" he criticized her like a parent to a child.

Once the beast had left he slid down the tree with a thump, immediately tripping over his own feet and landing in a heap at hers. Coughing, he stood and brushed himself off like no one had seen his clumsiness and adjusted his glasses. Standing a tall as he could make himself, which wasn't much, he grew serious. "I am called Grexx by my lady, the beautiful and powerful Queen Arys of the Winter Realm," he bowed and nearly fell over in his enthusiasm, but caught himself quickly and regained his balance. "I was sent as a representative of the Winter Court, as requested by your lord, Nyx the King of Spring. If you would be so kind as to lead me to him," he said, trying to maintain a respect for her that she hadn't shown towards him. Whether or not he liked this female was irrelevant. He was the representative of his Queen, as such he must show the proper respect to the creatures of this realm, whether or not they had earned it.

Patting his bag, he tried to give a friendly smile but he was a goblin so he doubted it was very attractive. He was trying to act confident, he really was. But inside he was shaking like a scared child. How was he to do this when he couldn't make it five steps into the Spring Realm without needing to be rescued? It made him feel as everyone always treated him : small, insignificant and a failure...

Aisling

Aisling's eye grew dark with her own anger at the Ice Queen's accusations. Her fingers stilled the humming strings as the Victorian era woman watched the Fae. "Forgive me, Your Majesty. I forgot myself. Of course you are not weak, all powerful Fae that you are." Her tone was laced with deep venom. "Forgive a foolish human who knows of nothing, least of all the plans of one who sent her here. And forgive the music which she plays for she has naught else of satisfaction to do." Aisling's slim hands shook, she was tired of the Fae and of their games. Tired of their ever changing views. Though it was perhaps why she valued the Fall King as her Lord, as he was not so keen to the ever flickle nature of the Fae as the rest of them. She had watched them in the Court, from the steps to the throne as they spoke unkindly of her music or praised it. Declaring it 'refreshing'.

Nothing the Queen of Winter said was new. But Aisling was embolden to be away from the ancient of the Fae Rulers. Something to her was refreshing and freeing. "You say I make speak plainly then I say this. You're a absolute fool." A heart makes someone weak? To certain things yes, and it was easily broken but the heart was passion. And Passion drove people where others emotions would falters. "The heart is the strongest weapon when combined with pen in the Mortal Realm as I knew it before the Fall Court's Kind did spirit me away to his side." Scowling she plucked the strings in dispairing annoyance. Needing something to take her anger out on. Though no true song was played the harp still hummed with a low tone matching Aisling's mood.

Falk

Falk watched the Summer King and did not pretend to hid his joy nor his superior smirk. Predatory and the epitaph of many Fae blessing and curses, Falk gestured with a slim hand. A hand fitted for pen and harp as much as sword. "Have a seat, King of Summer Courts. You seem rather dishelved of the loss of your Icy Queen. Perhaps you remain human after all." The Hall of the King of Fall was oddly still, no Fae beside the King and his will'o'wisps (Sworn to never speak), were present. A goblet and wine appeared beside Feoras with a chair right at the base of the steps.

"Though that is not to be a surprise, have you wondered Summerborn? Have you thought as to why we value humans? Mortals with short lives and sight and little in the ways of magic? Who make dreaded iron and curse us as much as they bless us?" The gleaming eyes of the great king seemed to look off into a far off distance, the falls behind him quietly thundering. Standing the Fall King walked down the steps with a grace no other Fae could rival. Like he had been born to move with the liquidity of wind and water. Stopping by the base of the steps a second chair appeared beside the first. Though the King ignored it to peer into the great pool that he saw through. "We Fae lead long and twisted lives. Power, magic, we grasp with clever hands. But, that is not why you are here. Not for the mysteries of the Fae nor the mysteries of the humans, though you may be here for such without knowing. Fate ever turns her wheel and spins destiny upon it." Inclinging his head towards the seats he gestured with a subtle flick of his fingers. "Please, sit. Relax. We are here for a friendly discussion. Nothing more nor less, and away from prying ears and eyes."

Leaf

A cold wind tugged at the trees as Grexx berated Leaf for her manners. A dark shadow passed under her eyes for a single moment and vanished just as quickly leaving any who saw it in doubt as to whether anything had been their in the first place. This fae was young and inexperienced. He knew only the ways of Winter in which many beasts were hideous and power was decided by skill, size, and strength. He would learn very soon that in Spring the fae that bared their teeth and their claws at an intruder were the very least of the threats that Spring could produce. The most dangerous things were those that were sweet to look at and soft to the touch. Beauty in Spring carried with it the deception of safety that only an outsider would be foolish enough to fall for.

Still this creature stood on a delicate balance with a valued Spring Fae so Leaf would do nothing for now. She was patient and cunning with a long memory. Grexx would have his comeuppance eventually, perhaps he would even survive it as long as Leaf was the only one he spoke to in this manner. Other Spring fae were not quite so patient.

"I am so very sorry to have disrespected your impressive and important person." She said with a sly sweet smile. The kind of expression that would make anyone forget the darkness in her eyes a moment before. "Perhaps we should call Lanveir back. Evidently you prefer his presence to my most disrespectful manner." Leaf gave a high pitched whistle and the grown of the Cath Palug could be heard from the trees no so far off. He wouldn't actually come back unless Leaf called for him but the intention was there. Of course Leaf could do far more damage to this small creature than a Cath Palug ever could but Grexx seemed to respond much more readily to tooth and claw.

Pearl

When Sini in her confusion asked Pearl to lead her to the Archon the young fool nodded brightly and grabbed Sini's hand. She took off at a fast pace dragging the Spring Knight behind her. She led Sini down into the roots of Yggdrasil which perhaps because of Pearl's heritage or her plight had always been kind to her.

Pearl led Sini through so many twists, turns, reverses and darkened areas that one could swear they had run through half the length of the Spring Court by the time Pearl eventually pulled Sini up a set of stairs into sunlight. They were standing in the gardens the World Tree created completely closed off with three of its massive roots. Great hedges a ran throughout the area along with nature fae tending various plants, some for fruit, some for beauty, others for magick and still others that were in fact offspring.

Pearl glanced behind them to see that the staircase they'd emerged from had sealed itself within Yggdrasil's roots. As she pulled Sini to where Nyx was waiting she began to sing a short little song.

"Far over the ancient trees of old
Where north wind comes and cold wind blow
The frozen queen waits patiently
For one to thaw her heart of stone."

Pearl tugged on Sini's hand and pushed her forward towards Nyx.

Nyx

Nyx walked through the gardens letting the wind and sun dry his clothing. Not that he was unable to change but he had some business to attend to immediately before he could indulge in such things. When his knight finally arrived she looked rather disheveled though considering who had led her to the gardens it was not surprising. Nyx himself had been led by the Fool on a handful of occasions down into the roots of Yggdrasil. In his youth the place had scared him though not when accompanied by Pearl or Leaf both seemed to have some understanding with the tree that prevented it from making them vanished if they looked too deeply. Still Nyx felt certain that it would be quicker to run the circumference of the World Tree than let Pearl lead in him the roots.

When Sini mentioned Nyx's damp clothing he waved it away. "Nothing of particular importance. Yggdrasil has a rather juvenile sense of humor today, nothing more."

When she asked about the Moot Nyx turned to look at her. "Does your spy not have his own ears?" He asked with a slight smile. Nyx liked Sini but more importantly he trusted her, at least as far as any fae did trust another. He found her over protective sometimes. This included her Kestral eyes in the sky over the Moot. It was something she insisted on year after year though Nyx didn't find it to be necessary.

Stone Henge (along with a handful of similar locations such as the Lake at Avalon) was the closest thing the fae had to sacred ground. It was protected and even if someone managed to break those protections for the purposes of striking down another ruler it would not be looked on kindly by anyone. The other court leaders, or even the fae of their own lands. In the past it had happened a very few number of times. The results were usually similar. A war between two Courts, the uninvolved lands either stayed out of the fray or sided with the one who did not spill blood at the Moot. Leaders that did so did not remain so very long.

"The Moot went well, our trade agreements have been renewed with Winter, we are as usual at odds with Fall though I suppose I should send an envoy to Summer to ensure that our standing arrangements still hold with them. Feoras was speechless for much of the meeting. In addition I secured a small selection of Blood Pearls from Winter which should prove useful." Nyx paused for a moment wishing to hear Sini speak. "How fared the kingdom in my absence?"

The Moot had not lasted as long as expected but their were still a number of things that could have gone wrong. Outlaws usually took advantage of the Archon's absence in the outlying towns and villages.

The sylph didn’t mind being all but dragged, nor did she mind going through Yggrasil. She had a fondness for the tree that stemmed in part from the risk, though she was careful not to press too far. Better to be sensible than to sate her curiosity, as much as she might wish to. Sini had never gone particularly deep without one of the court Fools, or Nyx, or someone the tree liked. She wished she could tell what it thought of her. Indifference, most likely. Tolerance was probably all she could ever hope for.

The Archon was waiting, and she ran a hand through her hair to get it out of her face as he jibed at her about her avian spy. “Ears he has, but not so good as his eyes. I do not intrude on the discussion, as much as I might like to. I watch for a sign something has gone wrong, or for your signal.” It was a point where their opinions differed. Sacred and protected Stonehenge might be, but that did not prevent a ruler from striking another down -- or unaligned fey attacking one or more of them. Just because it was unwise did not mean none were foolish enough to do so. It was the same reason the border patrols were increased while the Spring ruler was away. Attacking a distracted enemy was a good strategy. Sini would not let Spring be so distracted as to fail to defend itself, or its Archon.

“News of Fall doesn’t surprise me. Unfortunate, but it must be dealt with as it stands. I am glad to hear that trade has not been interrupted, though Summer’s distraction...” Sini’s eyes moved to the singing Awenyddion. “I would guess it had something to do with Winter’s queen?” They might be older than she, but flights of high emotion always made her think of the fey in question as younger. She had to be careful not to let that impair her judgement. “Spring had no problems that brought anyone to find me, and I did not have time to check with the guard before your summons. I believe the Captain would be a better informant than I, after so short a Moot. I am surprised, it was very brief compared to many years. Either things went very smoothly, or I worry that there will be trouble in the future.”

Feoras

Feoras did not respond to the comment on him possibly still being human. He has never felt human...he was raised here after all. The land of fae is his home. He slowly made his way to the seat, but did not sit. Instead he listened to falk with intense interest. He was curious as to what all he had to say. Not often was there an opportunity to gain knowledge from falk...let alone maintain a casual conversation.

When falk asked Feoras to sit, he did so. If he was to be killed it would have happened already. He wondered lightly why he was brought here...and what information he would learn.

Garnet smiled gently and lead the kelpie inside. "this is the palace of the ruler of summer. He will be returning relatively soon." as she spoke she took her guest to a form of waiting room. The room had several couches with plush cushions, singular seats, and pillows scattered of one was more comfortable on the floor.

Garnet waited for her to enter then smiled at her again. "feel free to get comfortable. I will be back shortly with some refreshments. A small salamander will be keeping an eye on you." as in yes you are a guest, but that also means you aren't fully trusted just yet.

A small yellow and black spotted salamander waddles in. It seemed to be the size of the palm of her hand. It's eyes were a sharp blue color and it curled up on a cushion. Those eyes locked on the newcomer and it seemed to look over her with on sweeping eye movement.

Falk

The Fall King moved with a easy grace. "So tell me, does my courting of the Lady Winter trouble you?" The stormy grey-green eyes looked light, amused. Untroubled. While it would not be wise to lie nor put falsehood before him, the Lord of Fall seemed untroubled by the thought that Feoras still attached on his presumed wife to be. "Be honest, stripling. I care little for such facts. We Fae have- had- long lives." The eyes became troubled as he recalled times long past as he forced himself to use the correct tense. "We may have marriages come and go, lovers as well. A good husband or wife of the Fae in ancient times worried not about such things. The child would be theirs or it would not. If not, it fell to the spouse and lover to care for. If it was the marriage bound cared for it. Marriages were dissolved when it was no longer needed though both parties would have had to agree to it..." Sitting with the grace of a lazy cat, he waved a hand in dismissal at his prattling though he would never call it such.

Studying the Summer King he raised a slight brow. "You have questions, Fae of Summer. King on High. Sun's own Son. Speak them. I will answer to my amusement, and you shall answer my own questions. A good bargain, is it not?" He raises a hand in pause. "Though I will add that no state secrets, nothing of rank but rather Fae to Fae. And, of course, no Names." The predatory grin was back, as his eyes looked off to times long pass. "You are young, I am ancient. Time effects even the Fae, though it is the one lie we permit that they do not." The Fall King was not in his black armor but robes of black and grey. A single sash of bronze and brown about his waist, looking oddly out of place. The robbed sleeves bound back from the firm arms, and his black hair swept back from his face. High above the winds rushed the tree tops as thundered rumbled far off. With a displeased look towards the thunder, the Fall King's eyes gleamed and a sharp gesture made. The storm that was starting to boil just in sight beyond the falls's top dissipated. "I have had enough of rain." The reasonable and silky voice became deep and sharp with annoyance.

Arys

The Ice Queen glared at the mortal. "Silence," she said, her tone a kind of quiet that was terrifying to most creatures. "Speaking freely does not mean disrespectfully. Learn the difference or I shall make sure you learn it. Get out of my sight."
With a wave of her hand the doors to her chambers flung open. A goblin waited outside to lead the human to her own room. It was a small, but not a large room with a bed, a desk and a chair. A wardrobe stood against one wall with warm clothing and furs inside and there was a basin with a pitcher of water on a table near the bed.
"If the precious mortal wants food, call," the goblin said in a harsh raspy voice before leaving the human to her own devices.

Alone in her room Arys breathed in and out slowly. The silence was welcoming. In truth she was not really angry with the human, it was just a convenient place to focus her anger. No, she was truly angry at herself. For the brief time she heard that music she had felt something stir in a heart that was supposed to be frozen. Something stirred and it terrified her to no end. She had been without a heart for so long the thought of having hers returned to her, and all of the weakness that came along with it, made her deeply regret giving that challenge to Falk.
But there was no way to go back on it now. A challenge given could not be revoked. Perhaps he would give up?
Even as the thought crossed her mind she dismissed it. Falk was stubborn. He would not give up simply for the sake of his own ego. What was she to do?

Arys' mind worked feverishly at a solution. One presented itself, but it wasn't one she liked...

Grexx

Grexx sputtered at the female. "I never said I was impressive or important! Don't twist my words fae of Spring! I merely stated that it was rude to speak of someone being eaten alive in their presence. Listen to words and their meanings before making assumptions," he said, sliding down the tree. Not paying attention, he went too fast and ended up landing hard on his rump and rolling head over heels backwards.
Scrambling to his feet and brushing off like nothing had happened.
"Besides, you said yourself that I am expected by the King of Spring. If I am killed before reaching him my Queen would consider that an act of war," he blustered, praying such a statement was true.

Grexx put his little shoulders back and tried to stand tall. Perhaps he would do better by applying a bit of honey to his words. "Now, fair lady, would you be so kind as to take me to your- EEK!" he suddenly hollered at the sound of something moving in the brush. In the space of a breath he was behind the leg of the female, only dust showing where he had been an instant before. He may have been small and clumsy but he was fast.
He tried to save face by clearing his throat and stepping out from behind her leg. "I can see things are quite safe. You may proceed now without qualm."

It was truly laughable, like a child trying to seem like an adult. Grexx could only look at her with misery in his eyes, wordlessly begging her to move on from this embarrassing situation of his without comment.

Laira sat down in the room she had been given. The soft cusions were confortable and beautifully made and made her sink away in them. She giggled soflty at the salamander that watched her before she closed her eye's.

'A summer king, that must mean there is a autum, winter and spring king as well' She tought. One of them must know where to find the Kelpie herd that Clyde belonged to. She wondered what kind of a person this 'summer king' would be, at this point she expected anything. Laira realized she knew next to nothing about this world, about the Fae that lived here, how it politicaly worked betweent the four season courts.

With a sigh she stood up and walked to the window, looking down at the stunning view it gave her.

''hey little one, when will you king return. And will I be able to speak to him, I understand it if a human like me is not allowed to do so'' she spoke kind, but with a bit of impaciance hiddien within her voice.

Lyra

While the females started talking about boring things Lyra slid down from Are's lap and headed out the door carrying her bunny in one arm and the tart in the other hand. Munching happily, and getting crumbs on her face, she wandered the halls of the Summer palace. Ba-Ba wasn't back yet. She missed him really badly.
Maybe she should go and find him?
But he had said to stay here until he came back...
But he wasn't back yet...

Maybe he had meant stay near the palace. She'd just looked around outside a little bit. She wouldn't go far.
Slipping past the guard wasn't easy but she was a determined and clever little girl so she made it. The trees rustled in the breeze. The Dryads regarded her with watchful eyes. The pet of the King was wandering without her keeper.
"Ba-Ba!" she called. "Ba-Ba!"
She wasn't afraid. Why would she be? The child had never had to be afraid of the surrounding forest before. But they did seem quite a bit bigger without someone there with her...

"Ba-Ba...?" she called, her voice now carrying a nervous and unsure tone. Maybe if she just went a little farther...
Her bunny seemed to sense something because he leapt from her arms and took off.
"Wait!" she cried, running after him without realizing how far she was getting from the palace. "Wait! Come ba-!" Lyra's call turned into a cry as she tripped through some brush and rolled down a hill. She squealed loudly as she tumbled into a small ravine. Landing at the bottom, Lyra laid still for a moment in a daze. She tried to stand and cried out, holding her knee. There were several cuts and a large bruise on her knee and her leg hurt. Sitting in the brush, Lyra held her knee and cried. She wanted Ba-Ba! She wanted Are! She wanted someone!
