Elysium: Prologue

'It is ahead of its time. The fps is beyond anything of the past and the graphics are in a class of its own. It has revolutionized the way people game, and it will revolutionize the gaming industry.'
-Senji Yoshimaru, Lead game designer and creator of Elysium, 2054

Elysium, the virtual reality game of the century and a game that will go down in infamy. Why you may ask? It took the media by storm and decimated the known gaming powerhouses. It gathered gamers of all platforms and united them under one game. A game that offered everything from RPG and Sci-fi to first person shooter and horror. There were over 50,000 beta testers working out the kinks in its three worlds; Genesis, Exodus and Elysium. It took decades before they announced its release and it soared off of the shelves just as quick as it was put on the shelves. However, a year into its release a group simply known as R3v314t1on, had hijacked the servers and massacred hundreds of thousands of players in Genesis' city, Killion, now know to all players as the Killion Genocide. Many tried to escape the game but sadly to no avail. Panic set across the multiplayer platform and plunged the game and its players into chaos. Areas that were considered safe from the changing PvP world were no longer and groups started to form, banning together for survival, others for greed and power. The game's developers had attempted to shutdown the game and eject everyone from it but the plan failed. "You lose. Servers taken. Pray for mercy: R3v314t1on" was the email sent to the creator and developers. The know dubbed terrorist group had taken those on the game hostage. Attempt after attempt of retrieving control of the servers failed and with each attempt tens of thousands were killed due to their persistence. A final idea was proposed from a hacker/beta tester of the game to gather a group of skilled players to take the group out from the inside and the governments of the world gathered together and formed a special digital anti-terrorist group known as UNCAF, or better known throughout the media as Project: Savior. Made up of people of all ages, they were to be sent in to find this group with the help of former beta testers and hackers sanctioned by the government through the means of pirated IP addresses, special hacking capabilities and other appropriate means. In addition to the formed group, the creators of Elysium removed the level cap for the hand-picked players, allowing them to ascend to new heights in order to combat this evil group. The leader's true identity of R3v3l4t1on, "Glitch" as he referred to himself is a mystery, hiding in secrecy with the help of its other members, possibly in the world of Elysium. Will this group be the ones to save those trapped, or will they fall victim to the plans of Glitch and R3v314t1on?

Elysium Headquarters

In the meeting room, the game's heads, among the ranks of designers and beta testers sat, awaiting the entrance of the Creator and the UN officials. "What do you think Mark. Do you think he will go for it?" Johnathan Geng, a digital artwork designer asked with a bit of a nervous tremble. Mark was one of the beta testers, specifically the one who came up with the idea of a organized anti-terrorist group comprised of the best players of the game. He shrugged with a sigh. "I can't say. But its the only shot we have. We cant reset the server without killing everyone. We can't get into the server through the game without one of our own getting sent to the hospital. What other choice do we have?" John looked down towards the ground with his chin resting on the back of the chair. Silence remained the rest of the time until the doors swung open and everyone sat up as Senji Yoshimaru entered holding a stack of folders. Behind him a few representatives of the UN and the UN's new task force UNCAF, all here for the most important meeting of their lives as it would dictate the future of this mission. Senji stood at the end of the table and looked at the faces he had come to know very well in the past couple months. "Afternoon" he greeted with everyone responding in their own way. The creator sighed as he dropped the folders on the table with a few papers sliding out. He looked towards Mark and gestured for him to come up and take a look at the folders.

"This is the list of people you and your coworkers had come up with. The best in the game. Players of different ages and different ranks but all show a talent for the game. Are you ok with this? This is your team you will be responsible for." The added bit of responsibility for their lives unnerved him a bit. Mark grabbed the folders and looked through them:

@drewccapp Janus Allen, a well known Overwatch character and known to be the first player to unlock The Watcher as well as earned the Full Clear achievement for clearing all PvE content including the difficult Hyperion Mercenary Company Raid within the first week.

@SolasReveal Charlie Lily Edwards, a known beta tester for some big name virtual reality companies, including Elysium's own and a talented Overwatch Huntress.

@SomewhatAverage James Carroll, A talented Battleborne class player who has shown great prowess in the class.

@Polaris North Harayuki Hiro, A Warlock Necromancer whose parents persuaded him to give their son a pre released final copy of the game but that aside, he is one of the few who chose this subclass and made it work.

@PatrickDrummer Shane Shinoda, a well known MLG player and one of the ones Elysium sponsored for their game. As a Goliath class Juggernaut, he showed talent in crowd control and overall prowess with the titan like class.

Mark looked through them until he pulled out two specifically which Senji then placed a firm hand down on the two files effectively putting them back on the table.

"Mark I want to know, out of all the players you picked, you decided to choose hackers." His voice was stern as he looked at Mark behind his slightly falling glasses.

"Because, @The ghost in black@ProjectOdin despite AoD and Onyx's background, they are formidable players. They will give R3v314t1on a run for their money but this other one... Spectre...I didn't choose him." Mark looked with concern to Elysium's creator to which he was met with a smile.

"Mark I personally choose him because from what we gathered he had gotten the closest to the group and its leader. We need him to help the others."

Mark nodded and licked his lips before sighing. "Ok then...What's the plan?"

Senji stood back up and adjusted his suit jacket. "We send the message to them. That the U.N needs their help and we will offer them whatever they see fit."

"And if they refuse?" A hacker on the opposing side of Mark questioned.

"Then I feel that this will end with a lot of families grieving over their lost family and friends. Now...We cannot think about this. We must get in touch with them. I want you and those over there to log into a secured server that we have managed to build and send the message out. This meeting is over." Senji turned and left leaving those from the UN behind. "Alright guys and gals we have work to do and we have no time to spare!" Announced one of the sanctioned hackers as he gestured for those of his trade to follow out of the meeting room.

As the meeting was adjuoured, Mark remained behind with the files and glanced them over. He remained silent for a moment before standing up and left to join the other hackers.

Elysium: The Arch, Penthouse Suite Rm. 101

A figure stood at the window, over looking his new digital kingdom. A pleased smirk on his face reflected back at him. A few feet behind him his right hand, Ceberus stood, his hands behind his back.

"Isn't it beautiful?"

Ceberus furrowed his brow, not understanding.

"The view Ceberus, the view." He commented.

"It is sir."

"Do you know why?"

"No sir."

"Because-" He turned around a devilish smirk still rested on his face.

"Because this is the epitome of man's engineering. The sky, the water, the wind. Everything. Everything from the tallest tower to the smallest pebble, delicately coded to match that of the real world." He picked up a glass on the table and ran his finger along it.

"Even down to the texture of this glass was coded to match its real texture. Everything about Elysium is magnificent. Someday, we will live this to its fullest. Like the Matrix. People blissfully unaware of the façade it really is."

"Yes sir...Sir?" Ceberus looked up to him with his head slightly tilted. as a holographic message flickered in front of him.

"Yes?" He cocked an eyebrow.

"The Black Rose has found out that the U.N is recruiting a group of players. Some sort of Project: Savior?" He furrowed his brow.

Glitch narrowed his eyes and snapped his fingers, bringing up the same message. "I see." The simple response came with slight aggravation.

The leader made his way to his chair and sat down, spinning it around to face the view of Elysium. "Send word to Hyp3r1on @Experiment 249 and update his deck with the names of the players who are supposed to be with Project: Savior. I want them dealt with expeditiously."

"Yes sir." With that Ceberus pulled up his message board and tapped the quick link to The Red Death. " Mission update, Details inside." With the message sent, Ceberus nodded and left the room for their leader to be alone.

"I look forward to this."

Exodus: Aurora, Abandoned Outpost, Player Housing

Watcher sat on the roof of his player home. An abandoned outpost building in the arctic zone known as Aurora. The lore attached to this building is that it was a security outpost for a mining company that failed. In order to recoup its losses the company parceled off its land to sell individual lots of to private buyers. This portion of the zone was the only to have player housing available for players that enjoyed an arctic location.

Watcher stared out at the wasteland around him thinking about everything that had happened. He was alone. Alone. Every single one of his friends were now dead. He picked up some snow and clenched his hand packing it up tightly. Those scumbags would die. He felt nothing but rage at the monsters responsible for the deaths of his friends and teammates. What had they done to deserve it? Nothing! He would make R3v314t1on pay for their actions in blood.

Watcher threw the snowball he made into the air, whipped out his sidearm, Last Waltz, and unloaded an entire clip at it. The first shot missed, but the second turned the snowball into dust. All the remaining shots were simply for the satisfaction of firing his weapon.

"Barron, Annex, Solo12, Galleon," Watcher breathed the cold mist of his breath floating in the air before him. "Tenno, Killian, D3x0r, P0lly, and Feir." The last name he said with a pained rasp, as he named off all his guildmates. "I'll spare no expense to avenge your deaths."

He had no idea where to start. PvP, while not unfamiliar to him was not his strongest suit as his skills were best suited towards PvE content. He knew he needed a group to make best use of his skills too. Who would be willing to join him though? Most players stuck in Elysium were afraid of R3v314t1on especially since the massacre. He would need to find players that were just as mad or crazy enough to join him. The developers after all that had happened seemed to be taken out of the equation.

Watcher stood up and headed for the rooftop hatch and entered his outpost. He accessed the game's fast travel system deciding that it would be a good idea to head to a more populated area to figure things out from there. "Sitting around moping isn't going to get anything done." He grumbled to himself as he scanned the map for places to go.

E.C.H.O

Abandoned outskirts mission in Grand Haven, Exodus

"KI-RO sweep right, stay hidden, if you can keep high do that but if you need to take them out, silent only got it?"

"Yeah yeah, stay safe" the AI like british male voice spoke out. She rolled her eyes and the robot dog silently stood in the hall way looking left then right, before turning and bowings it's head. Echo walked towards the hallway, turning her arm upright and looking at a small screen. Looking over the map, she turned left, looking back to see the other side of the hallway, Kiro nowhere to be seen. Turning, she pulled out her two pistols, switching one to it's dagger mode, holding them low she sat at the end of the hallway listening to the convo of two enemy guards talking about moving out into EE. Walking closer to the end of the hallway where echo sat, she breathed out, seeing the guards gun closest to her first. Stabbing into the air, the guard closest was met knife to his throat. The other guard to surprise, didn't have enough time to react as Echo put her gun up to the girls forehead and shooting the silent gun.

Running forward, she jumped off the wall and jumped grabbing for the low hanging metal beam. Sitting for a moment, she heard the rest of the sweeping guard party catch up the two. The four guards running towards their fallen comrades, running past Echo, she jumped down onto the last guard, crushing her neck. Moving behind the guard in front of her as the front two guards shot her direction, she threw the body at them, running and bouncing between the two walls, before landing on the two guards, executing the first one. However the second and last guard pushed her forward using her own momentum, causing Echo to roll forward and turn in time to see the guard in Kiro's mouth dead.

"Cutting it a tad close aren't we?" the dog dropping the guard and walking over to Echo who was searching the guards bodies for keys.

"I knew you had my back"

"And if I didn't?"

"Not the point, you did what I wanted you to do, so no need to dwell on it, what could have gone wrong, didn-" she stopped listening for a second, hearing footsteps in the distance "well that didn't take long, did you leave anyone alive?"

"When have I ever done that unless you asked, it's quite literally in my name if you didn't notice" Kiro moved towards the end of the hall way and sat, watching the hallway "if you're gunna get what you need you better do it fast, seems like that insider you had is contacting us, want me to put him through?" she nodded and Kiro's tail raised up, a small humming coming from inside it.

Putting her ear piece in, she immediately turned it down as someone was screaming on the other end "Echo come in! Hoi you fuck!"

"For christ sake you almost caused me to go death, what's going on?" she found a green key, whistling for Kiro to come, she turned and started walking towards the far end of the hallway.

"Well princess, you got more then just the mission on your hands at the moment, some low-end players with some big guns are heading your way, piss anyone off recently? Lt.JDM mean anything to you?"

"dammit, alright, lets get this moving" nodding down to Kiro, before busting out into a sprint through the hall ways, she pulled her gun out "Okay leave the car, go back to the safehouse, no arguing i'll send you a message when i'm out. Be safe." before the person on the line could protest, she hung up. Turning through what seemed like a maze of hallways, they arrived at a door and she kicked it in, it filled with four guards. Shooting the two guards sitting at the computers, Kiro jumped on the guard closest to them. The remaining guard went to tackle Echo, who when met with contact, simply brought her knee upwards. Hitting the guard in the jaw and making him recoil in pain, she shot him in the chest and quickly ran towards the computers, sticking the key into the desk. A progress bar appeared on the screen.

"You have a plan for when they come?" Kiro paced back and forward, looking at the door and hallway.

"Sure, dont I always?" a sigh came from the dog "was...was that emotion I felt? Who knew, you AI can be so sassy. We wont die, but it's not gunna be easy. Remember how we were suppose to bring people on this mission, yeah i just didn't tell them, didn't want to split the rewards, I didn't really need them. I felt kinda bad, but now I dont so i mean...yeah theres that" turning she heard their voices and footsteps getting louder. Pulling out a smoke from the small bag on her back, she activated it and threw it down the hall "that'll buy us maybe a minute..."

"YOU'RE GUNNA FUCK US OVER LIKE THAT?! WHO DO YOU THINK I AM YOU BITCH!" a voice range from the end of the hallway, followed by the sound of something winding up. Echo narrowly jumped from the char, as a flurry of bullets flew through the doorway and into the room, destroying the computer screens. The Progress bar was being shown on the floor in front of her stuck at 98%, then suddenly three grenades were thrown into the room. Echo picked Kiro up and jumped over the table holding the computer, kicking it over and holding Kiro. Closing her eyes and waiting for the coming explosion, but instead was met with sudden loading screen. Standing now with Kiro next to her, she was confused.

"Did I-"

"No."

"It is even possible to-"

"No."

"Is this good?"

"Probably not."

Echo sighed "at least we didn't just get blown up right?" Kiro shook it's head. She looked at the loading screen in the middle of blackness, before "Genesis, Sanctuary Pyre." popped up. Blinking she was suddenly in Sanctuary Pyre looking around confused, a message popped up, marked under no sender. Upon reading it, she instantly was even more confused at the situation "Should we just wait were we are?"

"Judging by what you just read and the expression on your face? Yes." KI-RO said laying down and crossing it's front paws, before laying it's head down on it's legs. Echo looked around, before kneeling and putting her bag down, rummaging through it and pulling her canvas dark grey overcoat on. Putting the hood up over her armor's dog ears and setting her armor into power saving mode, turning the colors off. She sat against KI-RO and put her hands in her pockets, lowering her head to her knees and resting for a moment.

Genesis; Road to Sanctuary: Pyre

"Of all the places they wanted to meet up, it's in Genesis? Seriously?" Christian, the loudest out of all of Yukihiro's summons, spoke. His form was sloppy and he was practically dragging his feet just to follow the three people ahead of him. "Can't you just resummon me there?" He pleaded. If anything, he didn't like the idea of walking all the way to Sanctuary: Pyre when they could just fast travel there like most of the players would do.

Ignoring the first question, he replied, "Well, we were already in Genesis by the time they sent us the request." Yukihiro thought to just a few minutes back. "And Sanctuary Pyre is just over there so I thought we could get in some extra experience if we walk there." He continued, pointing at the oasis that was closeby. He was also pertaining to the weak creatures that Indriel could probably one shot. They were worth minimum experience, sure, but it should help in the long run.

"You should be ashamed of yourself Christian. Alisia is younger and newer than you yet she never complained." Indriel said, taking a moment to look at Christian before looking forward again. True to what she said, the younger summon was perfectly pacing herself to their master's walk. She was clutching her staff tightly as they walked. The male opened his mouth to argue but closed it again as he realized that she was right and there was nothing he could say that would make anyone, including himself, to think otherwise.

After a few more minutes of walking, they had finally arrived at the designated oasis. Entering without a problem, Yukihiro started to walk towards the designated point of meeting. "Um..." Alisia piped up, walking a little behind Yukihiro, afraid of the random players walking around in the sanctuary. The three others looked at her to wait for her to speak. "Why are we going to meet with them again?" She asked.

"Well, we're going to find out here. They said it's to stop that terrorist group and release everyone from the game. But how exactly we're going to do that, I'm not sure." He replied with a shrug before continuing walking towards the meeting point. He didn't seem to notice Alisia trying to say something and failing. The other summons picked up on this but they continued forward anyway. Whatever it is that the youngest wanted to say, she could say it once she mustered up the courage to do so. But it really makes you wonder what.

Entering the so-called meeting place, he looked around. This should be it, right? His eyes caught another figure, two actually. A dog and a person wearing an overcoat, practically hiding her face. He looked at her gamertag. That looked familiar, maybe she was famous? Eh, he can't remember. He planned on staying quiet and letting the person rest when Christian piped up.

"Hey look, another player!" Christian practically exclaimed, pointing at the person. Yukihiro shook his head and sat down on the floor near the wall. "Hey, hey, shouldn't we talk to her?"

"She's obviously resting."

"Yeah but-"

Indriel forced Christian to sit down and glared at him. "Just stay quiet." She ordered with her arms crossed. Yukihiro made no attempt to stop the oldest summon on berating her 'younger brother'. Hopefully the other person and her dog didn't mind the whole thing.

Onyx
Elysium, Ragnarok Arena.

Onyx sat high above the ground, in the stands of the monstrously large, infamous arena in which many fatal gladiator battles were held, each day. Onyx held a small pair of binoculars to his eyes, squinting through the lenses. He looked down, onto the ongoing battle between a high-level Goliath and an even higher level BattleBorn, though the Battle Borne was a higher level, and the raining champion for the past sixteen days, it was the Goliath that was winning.

The crowd was going insane over the idea that the champ was about to be dethroned. Onyx could barely even hear the announcer over the immense amount of sound that was being produced by the many fan boos, cheers, and various scream, respectively. Onyx sighed, pushing off one of the more intoxicated watchers that had happened to slouch down, into Onyx’s lap.

He detected a slight movement out of his left, his target was moving. Onyx waited for a moment, allowing his target to gain some distance before following, as to not draw attention to himself. Onyx followed, just barely out of his target’s sight. Onyx finally followed his target out of the arena, tracking them to an alleyway across from the arena.

Bobby’s eyes lowered into a scowl, keeping an eye on the small but deadly hand cannon that swayed gently on the hip of targets thin frame. Onyx continued to follow his target deeper into the alley, waiting to strike. Onyx let out a low grumbling sound, before reaching for his Crimson Sun, slamming the stock into his shoulder and letting loose a shot into his targets back, before they could react, sending them hurtling to the ground.

"So, I'm going to make this quick." Said Onyx, walking forward, stepping on his targets hand to ensure they wouldn't try reaching for their weapon, sending a mean right hook to his targets face in the meantime. "You're going to tell me just where-"

Genesis, Sancutary, Pyre.

A bright light enveloped Onyx, teleporting him to Sanctuary. "Exactly the..." Onyx allowed his sentence to fade, realizing he was no longer in Elysium. "Wh- But, I was so close to getting that new sword!" Onyx whined, looking to his left to see a man surrounded by what looked to be a woman, covered head to toe in armor, another man, that looked to be the same age, holding two, what looked to be laser pistols, and a... Little girl? Onyx scrunched his face lightly before looking to his left where he found a woman that looked to be resting.

"Hm, so there's other then.. He let out a small "Mm" in greeting, waving his index and middle finger on his right hand, in a small salute. Onyx walked to a nearby wall, leaning against it for support, as he didn't really feel like socializing, instead wanting to wallow in the fact that he was ripped from his chance at a new blade.

Sensei
Exodus: Eon Evangel, Player Housing

A lone figure stood in the basement of one of the countless buildings in the city, working furiously at a punching bag in the center of the room. Sensei had been here for the past half hour, trying to perfect his technique before heading to the Sanctuary. When the UN needs your help, he thought, pounding away at his equipment, there isn't really a way to refuse. After receiving the message, he assumed that if they wanted him, then they wanted him at his best. To tell the truth, he wasn't too sure why he had been chosen; he wasn't legendary in any way, and he hadn't even reached the level cap. Sure, the Brawler subclass was difficult for most to master due to its extreme lack of focus on guns and the like, but he figured that there had to be some catch. Still, he wanted to make sure that they weren't disappointed by who they chose, so he had made sure to practice every attack that he could remember, trying to put himself ahead of the competition. Although it would probably help if I knew who the competition actually was. As he thought this, he tried to land one more backfist onto the punching bag-

To find that the punching bag wasn't there anymore. Instead, he found himself in front of a loading screen, which appeared to be loading...

Genesis, Sanctuary: Pyre

"Looks like someone just can't wait to meet me," he joked to himself as he loaded into the Sanctuary. Looking around, he saw that the Sanctuary itself seemed to be small and somewhat dilapidated, which was probably how R3v314t1on didn't notice the meeting in the first place. Looking at the others gathered at the meeting point, he saw a woman with what looked like some sort of robot-dog hybrid. Aren't those available to the Huntress subclass? He had considered taking up the subclass when he began the game had decided against it. Tucking away the information, he looked over to see a group of four, although looking closely at the combat quartet, he noticed that three of them appeared almost... transparent. Perhaps some sort of summoner? Turning to the final man, Sensei saw that he appeared to dress in Warlock-style armor, although not many Warlocks carried guns. He would be interesting to see in action, James could tell. As he finished examining the group, he clapped his hands and made a statement to all in attendance. "So, how's it going? You guys ready to save the world and look good while we do it?" If they were going to be allies, James wanted to make sure that they all started off on the right path and were at least friendly towards each other.

Genesis, Sanctuary: Killion; Residential area 5B: Neutral

Angel sat atop a broken street light as and stared down upon the multiple Battleborn milling about below, She hadn't even changed into her battle form yet because of the sheer fact that they had pissed her off earlier "So which one first?". -An hour earlier- "Hey you Hacking bitch, You think you can just walk away after cheaping us out of that Win?!?" the leader yelled as he stood in front of a rather bored Angel who just yawned in the face of a what was equivalent to a rabbid chihuahua to her. She uncrossed her legs and stood up to her full height and just started walking past the group of Battleborn, that was until one of them decided to grab her wing, the next thing that man knew he was upside-down with a spear of magic fire pinning his hand to the floor. "...You bitch, Get her boys!" The leader yelled as he pulled out a Revolver and took a shot which would have nailed Angel directly in the chest if it hadn't been for her Shield deploying in its path. She jumped into the air and dissapeared from their veiw after leaving a Blackout at their feet.

-Back to the present- "Maybe All of them at once?" Angel said as she sat swinging her legs back and forth; with a large and rather psychotic smile she flapped her wings once to activate her flight ability and floated above the group of adversaries and activated Missile Mass. The elemental bolts of magic flew down and struck the groups in their legs just to take them down for a while then a bolt of lightning arced across across them all Paralysing them. "Never touch my Wings again!" she called down and flew on her way to another location, out of the view distance of those thugs. "Well that was fun..." Angel said as she topped out her speed and exited the 5B Residential area for her own.

As Angel flew over a new residential sector she saw two messages pop up in the corner of her vision, one was from the Leader of the group which read the same as all other revenge threats, "I look forward to it" she sent back, and the other was definetly something strange. As soon as she opened it Angel was put into a loading screen, "What's happening?" She asked herself and read the message as the enviroment loaded in around her. She looked around at the area and a text scrolled across her vision Welcoming her to Genesis, Sanctuary: Pyre; "So anything I want.... huh?" she started and noticed the others in the viscinity, There were quite a few other plawers there. "Soooo... anyone else weirded out but excited by this?" she asked before reclining in mid-air with one leg crossed over her other.

Exodus: Aurora, Abandoned Outpost, Player Housing

Watcher noticed a few things that were different with his UI when he opened the fast travel interface. He first noticed that the EXP bar that displayed in the corner was no longer full. He stared at it for a good few minutes and the numbers there counted out the experience required for him to earn the next level. Hadn't he hit the level cap? A chill of excitement and confusion and fear ran down his spine. Who had done this? Had he hacked the game accidentally somehow? Did this show him as a target of R3v314t1on? What if the developers had chosen him? Did they know just how much motivation he had to bring the bastards down?

Watcher found himself grinning at the prospect of his level cap being raised by the developers just for him to take down R3v314t1on.

The next thing he noticed on the interface was a new quest location in Genesis, Sanctuary: Pyre. The marker for the location was completely different from any other quest marker he knew of, and the marker was nowhere anywhere near any quests he knew of. After all, he and his guild: the First Operation, had completed every quest available in the game. The only people he knew that were capable of adding new quests could only be the developers.

He then noticed a message had appeared in his inbox. He had been so distraught and distracted by everything that had happened that he had failed to notice it earlier. The sender: The UN. THE UN?! He stared at the message unblinkingly for a few moments. He then shuffled in place a bit to loosen up. "Alright. Alright. Seems legit." He had a small amount of skepticism about this message, but everything that happened left him with no small amount of doubt about his world. He opened the message and scanned through its invitation for him to basically work to save the world.

Genesis, Sanctuary: Pyre

Just as he closed the message, he found himself in a loading screen. Before long he popped into Genesis, Sanctuary: Pyre with several others around him. He quickly assessed they had been brought here just the same as he had.

Watcher, the last survivor of the guild First Operation, had just been throw into a situation that he would have only dreamed of a few moments ago. He had been chosen by the developers to work with other players to take down R3v314t1on. This was perfect!

"Hello everyone," he figured he might as well introduce himself. "I'm Watcher. Looks like we've all been chosen for something great. I'm ready to get all star spangled and kick some of those monsters' asses."

That's right. This was his game. He had earned his way up the ranks. As the fourth son of a business leader, he had no prospects as far as positions within his parents' company, but he had the most freedom of them all. This was his game. He was going to win it all back. Revenge would only be the very best icing to his most excellent cake.

Awakening Mission. In Ghost City. Genesis

Shane stood at the front of the Ghost City and waited for the mission prompt to appear, so he quickly did a rundown on his gear making sure he was ready. Hammer was fully loaded with the ammo pack resting on his back like usual, Sickle has recently been upgraded just for this mission which should give him the means to complete it, and as always his hands are ready to mingle in hand-to-hand combat. Finally once he was done a prompt appeared in front of him.

"Do you wish to start Mission - Awakening?"

"Yes"

"You may proceed into Ghost city now. Good luck player."

Shane knew he didn't need luck he needed his skill for this mission. He walked through the collapsed entrance of the city and gazed around admiring the detail the developers put into it. The detail of games is what always got Shane he just couldn't help but stop and stare, but his fun time quickly ended as her heard a big roar followed by something bursting out a building down the street he was on. It looked at him and got ready to charge. "Come on you zver'(beast), come on you know you want some!" he yelled at it. He waited for it start moving before open firing his Hammer at it, and the beast just kept charging him not seeming to be getting slowed down by his bullets. Shane put Hammer away and pulled out his Sickle and charged at the beast. Surely when the two clashed one of two things are gonna happen either Shane is gonna get steam rolled or tear that beast a new one.

By some "luck" as most would say when the two collided Shane actually was able to handle it's massive size with only getting pushed back a little bit. He started to wale on it with his Sickle each blow dealing great damage, but it wasn't enough to stop the beast from giving some counter attacks. The beast raised it's arms up high and was about to slam them down, but Shane in the meantime grabbed Hammer and unloaded the rest of his ammo into it. The beast fell backwards onto its back and Shane was prompted he completed the mission.

"That was it? That was the mission?" he said out loud to himself while looking at the thing he just killed. "Well I guess it was kinda challenging but-" he was interrupted by yet another prompt.

"Do you wish to restock before continuing on?"

Shane smiled he just knew that one beast couldn't be the entire mission not for this city. "Yes I would like to restock." he then saw a box of munitions spawn next to him. It had some things to regain his lost health and replenish his ammo. He got a new message in his inbox which he thought must've been part of the mission, so he opened it and was met with a loading screen for Genesis, Sanctuary: Pyre.

When the screen was over Shane was amongst many other players who looked like they fell for the same gimmick. He took a quick look around before speaking up "So why are we all here?"

"And I even got a shot off on The Red Death himself! He took out my best mate, Kokatric3... Woulda got me too if I hadn't popped him in the..."

"Shoulder. And you missed." Hyp3r1on walked slowly up to the man boasting of his survival of the Killion Massacre after 'heroically' shooting a not even upper level R3v member. "And your friend didn't even get taken out by me, it was Vakyr.i3. Get the facts straight before you boast."

The crowd around the man inside of the safe zone was silent, staring at the hacker and his new partner in crime, Vakyr.i3. A warlock known for her defensive capabilities. The two separate were scary, Hyp3r1on heavy on offense and Vakyr.i3 heavy on defense. The cowboy like man drew a playing card from his inventory, tossing it to the man and letting it float on the virtual air gently. The moment it was flat between the man and his victim, a bullet ripped through it hitting the man in the head for critical damage as a [NOW ENTERING A PVP ZONE] screen flashed before all in attendance.

Near immediately a shimmering wall erected itself upon the surrounding area, keeping anything outside of it out and anything inside of it in. Upon a building outside of the field's radius was Valky.i3, perched on a building in a low squat.

The man fanned the hammer of his revolver letting out 5 more shots, ranging from groin to another head shot, a low health warning shown on the victim's HUD. He stumbled up against the wall to hide but felt his legs tie together as he tripped. [STUNNED] shown above his head. Hyp3r1on walked up to him, 3 seconds remained on the stun. He put his hand over the man's body. 2 seconds. And he turned his palm to face the man. 1 second. The man's whole body turned into a solid mass of gold, before tearing apart into gold coins forming in a bag in the man's hand. [BOUNTY COLLECTED: PLAYER - 300 CREDITS] shown above his head. He looked to his warlock partner and nodded, gesturing with his head that they could leave.

Acknowledging the glance of her cooperator, the warlock lowered her wall to allow him to escape. As she did so, Valkyr.i3 descended from the roof that she was previously perched on with the light that composed her wings taking a far more vibrant glow. Upon landing, she looked to Hyp3r1on and gave a short nod as a sort of 'job well done.'

[DECK UPDATED: 7 NEW TARGETS]
[NEW PRIVATE MESSAGE - CERBERUS]
"Hm, 7 at once? This can't be good. Vakyr.i3, we might have our hands full for a bit."

ELYSIUM HEADQUARTERSL: CYBER HQ

They sat in front of computers that circled around the room like a cybernetic Round table with Mark, aka K1ng 4rth0ur at the end. The sound of keys clacking with each stroke as they secured the server. It ran off of multiple I.P address and through multiple government servers, including the ever so famous TOR.

"Mark we secured the sever"

"Connecting to players' IP Addresses"

"IP address secured"

"Rerouting them through TOR"

"Accessing players' stats"

"Players' stats accessed"

"Alright good. Let me know when you connect to each player." Mark scanned the room before taking a sip of coffee.

"Player Aurora Locke, @The ghost in black connected."

"Player James Carroll, @SomewhatAverage connected."

"Player Harayuki Hiro, @Polaris North connected."

"Player Janus Allen, @drewccapp connected."

"Player Shane Shinoda, @PatrickDrummer connected."

"Player Bobby Hill, @ProjectOdin connected."

"Player John Krueger.... Wait hold on..." THe one hacker squinted his eyes at the screen as his fingers ran along his keyboard over the various keys. Mark looked over to him to see the man shaking his head before slamming his fist onto the table.

"Kev what is it?" Kevin looked at mark with a furrowed brow.

"He Doxed me."

"He did what?"

With a grunt Kevin turned the screen to him. "He DOXED MY ASS OUT OF HIS CONNECTION!"

Mark ran a hand through his hair. "Alright just record this message for him if you can. Starting video feed in 3...2...1"

"Ladies and gentlemen good afternoon-"

Genesis: Sactuary Pyre

Those gathered in the small place talked lightly with each other, mostly confused about the odd loading. They had a simple message from the UN asking about assistance but that was all. Now it was time to actually contact them. The message screen popped up and any attempt to remove it failed. "Ladies and gentlemen good afternoon...or evening. I don't know what it is for you all but here its around 1:30pm. I am Mark Kissenger, lead sanctioned hacker of the game Elysium and in collaboration with the UN we managed to secure a server in order to send this to you. I'm sorry but this is a one way transmission to lessen the chance of being located and no, we cannot pull you out of the game this way since it would be too dangerous. Myself and a few other beta testers, some of you may have played with or against, hand picked you for this thanks to your skills, combat prowess, class knowledge and other aspects as well. We have also tried getting in touch with another player who goes by "Spectre", but he seems to not to want to have us contact him as of now but besides that, we choose you because we think you can stop R3v314t1on. As you know, R3v134t1on was the cause of the Killion Massacre and has killed thousands of players after that as well making him the world's most wanted man at the moment."

Their screens went black for a moment as only @drewccapp Watcher's remained.

"Janus we are sorry for your losses and the creator of the game has contacted your friend's families and has promised to pay for their funerals in its entirety." Sad eyes met Janus's own.

"I lost a few friends in Killion myself and its hard but I know you and the rest here will be able to take him down." He said with confidence.

Their screens returned to normal with Mark leaning back in his chair, scratching the back of his head. He sighed.

"Time to lighten things up a bit. Senji the creator, the hackers and myself have managed to remove the level caps for all of you as you can see in 3...2....1."

If they were to look up, they would see that next to their name, the level numbers disappeared, proving that they were no longer capped.

"Also if any of you need anything in game just leave a personal not in you Codex and we will see what we can do. Also after R3v314t1on is removed, the UN has promised you all anything you want as reward for your cooperation in taking down the international cyber terrorist group. Now with this being said-"

Marks screen minimized slightly as a face popped up on screen.

"This is Mayhem, one of the founders of R3v314t1on. He currently resides in Santuary Killion." He sniffed as he took a sip of coffee again.

"We think he may know the whereabouts of their leader who was dubbed "Glitch", by himself of course. Egotistical bastard. Anyway we need you to capture him and get him to talk. The UN does not care what happens to him afterwards. All in all he lost his rights after his actions. Mind you this order comes from a unanimous vote. Afterwards take back and secure Killion. Once this is done Genesis should be good." Mayhem's face was then added to their Codex under: People.

"Now to your question you all are probably asking yourself. Why Pyre? Well-"

He leaned in towards the camera.

"Pyre is currently one of three Sanctuaries that are still in the control of players, their overall defenses are made of Goliaths and Overwatches while their main force is made of a mix of...well, every other class and subclass you can think of. We have sent word to a player known as Minxy, who seems to be one of their captains. We want you to make contact with her. She has agreed to help you get into Pyre."

Mark sat back again and sighed as inaudible words were spoken.

"Look I'm sorry for all of this but we need you. Millions of families need you. I can't stay on this any longer as we apparently have someone trying to find you guys out. We will contact you later."

The Screen went black and shutdown the HUD of the players.

Exodus: Retrocity Centre

The man ran, panting and throwing people out of his way with his good arm as the other had been shot clean off. The man's eyes quickly scanning the rooftops above, looking for the phantom who shot it off.

"NO! NO FUCK YOU! IM NOT TELLING YOU SHI-"

T'ceeewwwwwww

The man's head exploded in tiny hexagonal fragments of data as he disappeared off of the map indefinitely. In the distance, a visible eye softened as the scope lowered as he muttered something under his breath. The "breee-eeeeeeee" of his optical lens adjusting to the normal view echoed quietly in the abandoned construction space on the 20th floor of what was to be an office building. The figure stood and strapped the rifle against his back and made his way to the opposite side of the half constructed room where a ledge lead down to a dumpster below. Before he could do anything, a recorded message had popped up on his HUD, illuminating his face slightly. He narrowed his eyes and sighed as he brought up his messenger.

He sent the message and then brought his attention back to his destination. An AI with a female's voice entered his ears. "Height: 250ft, Contents in container: Unknown, Terminal velocity will hit at: 1-hundred feet." The figure side as he took a step near the ledge, his arms out to the sighed as he lept out and down to the dupster below, any trace of him vanishing after he reached his destination.

Sensei
Genesis: Sanctuary Pyre

As the video message came to an end and the HUD disappeared from his screen, Sensei's mind raced with countless thoughts, but one stuck out from the rest for some reason: Woohoo! Screw you, level cap! A confident grin came across his face as he realized the purpose of the group. They were going to work together to take down the largest terrorist group in history! Well, either that, or they would become one of the hundreds of thousands killed by the psychopaths. Still, in this moment, he was sure that their names would go down in history as heroes. Some would call it naivety, but James would prefer to call it something that most Elysium servers lacked these days: hope. Well, perhaps it was hope inspired by something else, a particular statement that their UN agent had spoken.

"The UN has promised you all anything you want as reward for your cooperation..."

Hey, I'm more than just a greedy pig, of course I want to help take down these terrorists, he told himself, as if some part of him was scolding himself for his askew motives. I just also know the value of having friends in high places. Truth be told, his martial arts studio had been seeing a decline in customers as of late; it seemed that not many in his county were too interested in self defense of any form. With a bit of financial assistance, he could launch a full, nationwide franchise and teach across the United States. Or he could just ask for enough money to ensure that he would never have to work a day in his life again! Nevertheless, he decided to put his personal issues aside and focus on the task that the group had been given: capturing the terrorist leader Mayhem and tracking down a player known as Minxy. Both sounded like difficult tasks, and he knew that in action, they would prove to be even more difficult. Still, he hoped to be an asset in both assignments, given how his general lack of weapons made him easily approachable by allies and underestimated by enemies compared to most players in his personal experience.

As he thought this, he speculated that getting to know his allies would be just as difficult as taking down his enemies. Ever since R3v314t1on took over the Elysium servers, most had become withdrawn, understandably unsure of who to trust. This worked to a disadvantage to people like James, who preferred to know what cards his allies had up their sleeves to figure out how to use them best. Those who met him wouldn't expect for such a "beat 'em up" style player to be such a strategist, but he considered that assumption to be another card up his own sleeves. For now, his goal was to learn how the others in his group would react in battle, to get a glimpse of their fighting styles and how they would benefit or clash with each other, and for that to ever happen, he needed to gain trust between them all, the strong and steadfast trust of a team united. Deciding to take the first steps in doing so, he stepped forward and began to introduce himself to the group, as Watcher had done before him. "Well, let's get pleasantries out of the way ASAP, it'll probably save us some time later. Hey guys, I'm Sensei, but most of my friends just call me James. You all can call me whatever you feel like calling me, just as long as you do it while we kick some terrorist ass!" Punctuating his last phrase with a fist pumped into the air, he smiled and stepped back to where he had been standing before, excited to get the assignment underway.

The players appeared one by one, it would seem that Yukihiro was the only one who decided to walk here, or at least was allowed to considering that he was close by. The others greeted while others did not, some names he recognized, some he did not. But he was sure that they'll all get to know each other later once this meeting was over, they would get to know each other better. Teamwork right? His summons stayed back and were silent as the players appeared, surprisingly even Christian did not dare to speak although the guy did show some remnants of wanting to reply to the ones who greeted them. The message had popped up after a few minutes since the last person got there. The summons peeked curiously towards Yukihiro's screen, yeah, they can see it apparently.

So, it was the UN who was contacting them and they needed their help to defeat R3v134t1on. Well, his level wasn't exactly capped so he didn't exactly notice the difference but it would seem the others weren't capped anymore. They could reach new heights now huh? That sounds pretty good. If they can reach a high enough level then... well, there's a lot of things they can do besides destroying the terrorist group.

Reward? Anything they want, the UN will give? That's actually pretty awesome! Despite Yukihiro's rich upbringing, there were still some things out of reach, especially after he decided not to accept money from his parents when there isn't any occasion or any reason at all. But right now, he could really think of anything that he wanted to happen. It wasn't like he wanted a helicopter, or a personal army, or something like that. Maybe he shouldn't think about that for now since there wasn't really any assurance that they may win against R3v134t1on considering that they control... well, most of the game, and there wasn't really anyone who would join them at this point. Too many people are scared. And if that terrorist group decided to kill thousands more because of their little uprising, that guilt would be in them forever.

The next that had appeared was a face of Mayhem, the one who rules over Sanctuary Killion. Given his neutrality, Yukihiro had gone to the sanctuary before, to rest if anything. It isn't exactly the prettiest place to rest but it worked out fine. Nobody tried to kill him in his sleep so that's good and he was able to get out without paying some fine or something. But if this guy, Mayhem, knew where the leader is, then they'd have to fight through almost the entire sanctuary. Ah well. No guts, no glory. Then there was this other mission to meet up with one of the squad leaders that defend Pyre, Minxy who would apparently help them in the battle. Cool. Then again, earlier, Mark mentioned someone going by the name of 'Spectre' who doesn't want to be contacted. Wait, that name... Oh boy. Isn't that the guy who had that achievement of having a 100% accuracy rate? How lucky they would've been if he had joined up.

The message ended and the first to speak was this guy named James, or Sensei. Yukihiro's smile grew. "Nice to meet 'ya Sensei." He said with a grin. "My name's Yukihiro, or Hiro, whatever name you guys want to call me by. And then here's my summons, Indriel, Christian and Alisia." He said before pointing his staff at the respective summons as he called out their names.

"Nice to meet you guys!" Christian exclaimed as he saluted at the others.

"I look forward to fighting with you all." Indriel said with a bow.

Alisia, on the other hand, decided to not speak and just hide behind Indriel who she felt more comfortable with.

"And that's practically my team. I look forward to saving the players with you all."

Nothing about what was happening now really shocked Angel, she just watched the video with a bit of a giddy smile on her face after the level cap symbol disappeared from above her head and it just got wider when they said that they could request stuff from their employers. "This is gonna be so fun" she said with a laugh before flipping over and setting down on the floor when the message ended. Angel fidgeted on the floor letting her clawed feet tap on the ground as she moved her legs, This was much more different than what she had been doing up till this point. Usually is was the procedure where the temporary employer would give her a specific job to do like nuke the team or just heal and she didn't have to worry about any formalities other than the amount she would get payed and if the employer would need to die at the end. Her mind raced with the usual mercenary thoughts but stopped when she realized that this time it is going to be a long-term team.

She just smiled and nodded as the two of her teammates introduced themselves and after they finished Angel stepped forward. "Well I guess it's my turn then..." Angel said and stepped forward with her metal claws tapping on the ground and gave a small bow to the rest or them. "I am AoD or H3lix but you guys can call me Angel, I tried to stay out of this whole conflict but now I guess I have to join you guys.... so don't worry, I'll have your back" She said with a smile and stepped back nervously laughing. This was pretty awkward since she didn't really have teammates even when she started.

While everyone piled into the area that they were told to meet, Charlie had actually fallen asleep and because of who she was completely missed all of what the broadcast had shown, however KI-RO recorded it and wait for the girl to wake. When the noises around her started getting louder she jumped up with her hand drawn on her weapon for a second before realizing where she was. Closing her eyes and breathing out quickly "Not everyone is out to get you..." she muttered to herself, seeing everyone starting to introduce themselves, she crouched down and rewatched the message. Rocking on the balls of her feet while crouched, she thought for a second and turned to KI-RO "what are the chances we all could even take down R3v134t1on? Remember when we narrowly escaped stealing information from them? You still aren't fully repaired from that keep in mind."

"We can talk about this later, but it seems that this UN, which I'm getting a vague idea of what it is from that message, needs out help. Usually i'd say let's sleep on, but considering you already did and they basically ripped out right out of a mission, which shouldn't be possible, not for any normal player, even a beta tester like you, I'd reckon we don't have a choice even if we dont take the offer. Why not right? Getting anything you want would be what anyone desires right? Didn't you talk about wanti-" a glare from Charlie made KI-RO quiet and lower it's head "all I'm saying is we can talk about this later, why dont we stop ignoring the people around us and introduce ourselves?" standing, KI-RO moved forward and sat, Charlie standing with her hands behind her back stood behind him and lowered her hood, revealing the armor's dog ears from under the overcoat, a signature of the Huntress Class "Hello everyone, pleasure meeting you, I am "Killing.Infiltration.Robot.Operator D Version" or Kiro for short, that's a real mouthful otherwise but feel free to call me that if you like. Also before we continue, no I am not a talking robot dog, you simply can hear this voice through a complex speaker, I am the dogs A.I operator if that makes sense, there's a big difference..."

"And I'm Sgt.E C H O, or Echo for short, I also go by Glass if you'd like to call me that. I tend to keep my real name hidden, never can be fully trusting, but don't take to much offense please, if you know who I am, chances are that's either a really good thing, or a really bad thing" she gave a small smile "it's a pleasure meeting you, also dont pay him any attention, he's a real sassy A.I, but he really is a talking robot dog, no need to complicate things Kir-"

"I am not" the dog turned it's head and bared it's teeth for a second before Echo raised and eye brow and stepped once, making Kiro back off.

"As I thought, but that's us, I hope we can be as of help for the team, not to use to it being more then just me and him, being class linked, there are very many places I can go that he wont follow or protect me, though if we have any traitors, word to the wise i would not want to cross him, he has quite the vicious behavior when I am in danger and you're the cause of that" she said the last part half jokingly, half serious "never can be to cautious..."

Watcher had been listening quietly to the briefing, but this really caught his attention. He nodded with a tearful expression and wiped his eyes clear. "Yeah, thanks." He breathed. That was right. This was more than just about him. Everyone in the game was locked into the enemy's grip and he definitely wasn't the only one to suffer.

"Time to lighten things up a bit. Senji the creator, the hackers and myself have managed to remove the level caps for all of you as you can see in 3...2....1."

So his suspicions about the glitch he had noticed earlier were proved correct as he watched the numbers disappear. Certainly some fancy computer wizardry. He definitely didn't approve of cheating. His life was entirely handed to him, and he played this game to prove to himself that he could earn something for himself. As the fourth son in his filthy rich family in many ways he wasn't expected to do anything, and because of this he refused to take any "easy way" up. "I don't like it, but it doesn't seem like we have much of a choice in this matter. Knowing what we're up against."

He was of half a mind to demand that once this was over his level get reset to cap, but that would be more appropriate for later he felt.

"Also if any of you need anything in game just leave a personal not in you Codex and we will see what we can do. Also after R3v314t1on is removed, the UN has promised you all anything you want as reward for your cooperation in taking down the international cyber terrorist group. Now with this being said-"

Right now the only thing he wanted was something that he would have to take into his own hands. After all no one else aside from the group around him right now was in a position to do the things he was of a mind to do. They were definitely quite accommodating which made sense too, but he didn't want to rely on them too much.

Watcher's eyes narrowed as Killion was brought up. Taking down one of R3v314t1on's big wigs would be a fantastic start. He thought of the wonderful things he would do to the man to get him to talk and a slightly sadistic grin slipped onto his face.

Watcher bobbed his head as they received the end of their mission briefing. This was definitely a good start. Once the briefing ended completely he turned to the others and listened as they introduced themselves. Some were fairly enthusiastic which made him feel fairly good about this group. His eyes landed on AoD as she finished her somewhat awkward introduction. She definitely didn't seem like one to voluntarily get involved in something like this, especially from her body language.

He stepped up with a smile after Echo finished her introduction. "I guess I'll start my own intro all over again. I'm Watcher. Yes, I'm named after the rifle that I have. I chose that alias after I learned about it during the beta test. I'm the last survivor of First Operation, we were planning for a raid in Killion when the massacre happened. The only reason I survived is because I wasn't there due to a preparatory issue."

He closed his eyes and paused as he took some time to calm down. After a heavy sigh, he reopened his eyes and continued. "As you can see I'm very motivated to destroy those hacking scumbags. I'm fairly good at operating in a team." He glanced around noticing there was a fair imbalance to the class types. "Seems like we're fairly weighted towards a couple of the classes, which will make some things quite... difficult. Not impossible though. My kit is best for scouting and hit and run tactics when it comes to PvP. I look forwards to work with you guys."

Onyx
Genesis, Sanctuary, Pyre.

Onyx listened to the message closely, a strong scowl plastered upon his face for a majority of the time it had played, perking up on a few notes, mainly only really on the fact that the level cap had dissipated. Onyx liked the idea that they could request items from their, eh, "employers", but would refuse to do so, mostly because he found the feeling of finding a new high-level or powerful item quite thrilling.

Bobby listened to the introductions, taking note of the names. He recognized a good deal of the fellow players' name's, but failed to be able to identify a few of them. His face contorted slightly as H3lix, or "Angel" introduced herself, now that was a name that Bobby had heard around before, no doubt. Once it seemed as if everyone was done with their respective introductions, Onyx pushed off of the wall taking a few steps forward, propelling him into the center of the group.

Onyx finally spoke after a brief moment of just standing there, looking from person to person. "The name's Bobby, but you can call me Onyx, or Bobby, hell, you can call me shithead, if you'd really like." Onyx raised his pointer finger on his right hand "That was uh.. That was a joke, don't call me shithead, please." He lowered his finger, looking downwards for a moment. "Nice to uh, nice to meet ch'yall, hope we can all get along well together." Onyx stepped back, sliding down the wall into a sitting position.

Clearing out of the settlement, setting it back to it's usual status as a safe, non-PVP area on his way out, the bounty hunter flipped through a deck of playing cards, eventually reaching the face cards. Some were just regular face cards but now a few had names, locations, stats, and any other information a man in his line of work would need. Well, they should have these things on them, but the locations seemed to be hidden quite well, as they changed every two or three seconds ass if being hacked. He got through the jacks, queen, kings, aces and found two cards he had never seen filled in his time working for R3v. One of the Joker cards had a name on it, TheSilentOne.

"Seems we have a big score. A joker, never seen one before but here it is. According to that PM he's spearheading this new "anti-terrorist" group going after us. They better not have high hopes, even if they have hackers with them they're not gonna get too far. What do you think? Go after the big guy first or pick off the little guys. Been a while since I've seen a king card, let alone an ace. Could be fun. And look, another Warlock! A necromancer, eugh. That one is all you. One of those idiotic weaponless-battlebornes, I can take that one. Ah, here we are. Two overwatches. Those two would be the easiest. We could go after those first but they're probably all together."

He flipped through the cards over and over, no healer was present in the whole deck. If they got some backup they could whittle this group down, bring a healer themselves and then it'd be an easy couple of kills. The joker card worried him greatly, but it was sent to him, meaning anyone higher up than him was busy with something more important. The message said to take care of this group as soon as possible and he planned to do just that.

Step one: get information from random players. Death threats abound. He motioned his new partner to get a move on and made his way to then next town, hoping to see some traveling players to get information from. He hadn't noticed a few of the players had second classes, as he did. The hackers seemed to not have their information display correctly on his cards.

Genesis, Sanctuary, Pyre.

Shane listened to the video transmission getting a big grin when the level cap got removed, and he liked the idea of being able to request stuff without having to spend in-game money. He thought about what he would ask for in return for taking down the cyber terrorists, and he thought maybe a better E-sports team. He chuckled quietly at the thought no he liked his team and he hopes they aren't dead because he hasn't gotten any replies from his messages he sent but maybe that's because they are avoiding logging in. Yeah that must be the reason right?

When the transmission ended everyone started to introduce themselves some were excellent like the Sensei guy. But others were not as top notch like Onyx, and soon enough it was his turn to give an introduction. "Hello comrades I am Shane, and I believe if we work together we all will come out on top of this. For you have the strength of the Motherland on your side. That is all." once done Shane thought his introduction could've been better but it should do for now.

Sanctuary Pyre

@SomewhatAverage@The ghost in black@SolasReveal@ProjectOdin@PatrickDrummer@drewccapp@Polaris North

They made their way to Pyre. A short walk compared to where the other Sanctuaries lied. Pyre was the third largest among the big three; Killion, Heaven's Gate and then Pyre. Large walls ran the perimeter of the city and built into them were watchtowers, guarded by some of their best Overwatch classmen. Lining the walkways of this wall were what could only be described as a large company of Goliaths and in between every other goliath was a warlock, possibly specializing in defensive abilities. And if one looked closely, there was a caretaker for every 20 or so members of the wall. At the bottom of the wall nearest the gate, two Goliaths stood guard armed to the teeth with powerful weapons. In between the two was a man who kept his arms crossed in front of him. His posture was rigid but held this laxed feel about it as if he was expecting them but unsatisfied at what he saw. When they approached, they could see a look of disappointment on his face.

“You’re the group that’s sanctioned by the U.N? Tch, don’t look like much.” A twitch in the mouth showed his own self-amusement at his comment.

“Come on, I don’t have all day. Leviathan! Open the door.”

“Yes Commander!”

The commander looked up to the younger member of the wall and recieved a simple nod in response as he pushed a lever forwards opening the gates with a rumble. The man turned to the group and grinned.

“Welcome to Pyre.” He turned back as the gates opened up more of the city. Massive buildings held rooms for many players while they stayed inside the sanctuary. Off to the left and right, lining the wall were vendors selling all kinds of things from exotic and rare weapon and materials down to little novelty things like new skins and abilities for characters. Further into the city were sanctioned sparring arenas that Elysium originally allowed but thanks to R3v314t1on, they were no longer allowed to be used. The Commander, as everyone seemed to call him, lead the group to a large building, guarded by a handful of men and women of different classes, surveying the immediate area. As the commander approached with the group, Goliath, Battleborne and Overwatch alike locked onto the group until the Commander waved them off in which the weapons were lowered and they resumed their watch.

“As you can see people, we take no chances. If I don’t wave them off, they’ll take down whoever is with me and treat them as a hostile.” The commander glanced back at the group before gesturing for them to follow him inside. Once inside he lead them to their final destination; a room that held two others, a man wearing a black suit of armour only found in the Ice caverns of Genesis and a Goliath, a bit taller than the others they had encountered.

“General, Minx.” He gave them a slight nod and moved to the side of the door, allowing them to enter and then stood in the doorway once everyone was inside.

“Thank you commander. Everyone my name is Percy Jones but most call me General or G and this here is the wonderful Minxy, my trusted captain.” The goliath facepalmed and looked at the General.

”No one has ever called you “G” Percy and I told you not to call me Minxy. It’s Minx and by the way, next time you think about staring at my ass I’ll rip your 1 and zeros off your digital body and make you eat the coding, perv.” If only they could see behind the faceplate they would see the anger in her eyes. His eyes went wide for a moment but then simply chuckled. “Wouldn’t want that to happen. Anyway, this is your team.” She turned to them and studied each one carefully.

”Well what do I have to work with? We have an Overwatch, battleborn and a Goliath so that’s good. But three Warlocks? Three? Do any of you know healing spells? Defensive spells?” She sighed but gave a dismissive wave.

”Alrighty then! The name’s Minx and as you can see I’m a Goliath class so that makes two Goliaths. That makes it easier when we get in. I don’t expect any immediate resistance from Killion but once we’re in - it’s only a matter of time.” She shrugged and turned towards the exit.

“We can’t waste any time so let’s go. Any questions ask along the way.” She looked back at the group before leaving.

Elysium: The Arc, Conference room

Glitch sat amongst the Black Rose Syndicate, the branch of R3v314t1on that control Exodus’s city, Eon Evangel, and Mayhem, the tyrant who held most of the Sanctuaries in Genesis. Glitch had his legs crossed and his fingers interlocked, resting on his lap as he looked over everyone with a gentle yet eerie smile.

“Glitch why did you call us in here?” A member of The BRS asked with mild irritation.

“I assume this has to deal with that U.N group?” Another BRS member asked.

“No doubt. But at least Bryn and The Red Death are on it.” Another stated in-a-matter-of-factly.

“Glitch, my man, seriously. What the hell? ” Mayhem said with frustration.

“Mayhem, yes. I brought you here because of that group, Project Savior as they are called.” Glitch nodded.

Furrowing his brow he shook his head in confusion.

“Ok? But why me?”

“Your stupid Mayhem. The group was spotted in Pyre and possibly in route to you.” Said M4k0, leader of the BRS.

“Please, they’re no match for me and Killion. Once they’re in they’re done.” Glitch narrowed his eyes.

“That foolish thinking caused the loss of some good people in the past and if you keep with that-”

“Im not some fucking expendable piece of shit I know how to handle - ARG-G-HH-HH” Mayhem’s body and voice distorted and slide apart as his health bar went ballistic. Glitch’s eyes glowed a dim neon blue with what seemed to be numbers and coding running past them.

“Who are you to talk to me like that, hm? I’ll have you know that if it wasn’t for me, you would still be a lowly player clinging to whatever group he could find for survival. I suggest that you show me the respect that I deserve.” He moved forward towards Mayhem and rested his hands on his shoulders as the choatic glitch ceased on Mayhem.

“Now lady and Gentlemen of the BLack Rose, I need you to send word out to RD and Bryn, Spectre was located in Solace, Exodus. About-”

“About two and a half miles outside of Eon in Solace. Yes sir we are aware. We have already sent word to the two hunters. We still however have not figured out what class he is so they may compensate for the disadvantages.”

“Oh there is no need M4k0. I have full confidence in their capabilities. He hasn’t earned the moniker “The Red Death” for nothing has he?” With a smirk he returned to his executive chair at the end of the table and sat back down, Cerberus by his side.

Solace, 2 ½ miles outside Eon Evangel

He walked the crowded, rainy streets of Solace, passing the famous club The Void Sisters on his way to his next target, an enforcer by the name of Lanc3. He terrorized most of Solace with his ruthless and painful punishments and lethal interrogations. The man liked to take shelter in the night club he passed but going through the front would be too obvious so instead he made his way to a nearby alleyway.

Processing terrain...

”Evaluating most effective route...Route found”

Rose, his simple AI returned after scanning the alleyway and building. It highlighted the best route possible to the building's roof and Spectre licked his lips and nodded as he followed the path. He shot up the wall to his left and lept up, taking hold of the ledge above as he shuffled down towards the fire escape. He gave a quick look around and swung himself back and forth until he gained enough momentum to launch himself over to the escape. Spectre climbed up into the escape and made his way up its stairwell until he reached the opposing rooftop. He could see that The Void Sister’s roof had a skylight window. Thankfully this would give him the perfect vantage point into the building's interior and hopefully over his target. TheSilentOne stepped away from the ledge by a few feet before eyeing up his jump.

Distance required met. Proceed

He took in a deep breath and sprinted for the ledge and lept up and out over to the club’s rooftop. The arch of his jump landed him on the ledge of the intended building in the cat leap position. Spectre pulled himself up and made his way over to the fairly large skylight glass roof and peered into it his now silenced rifle scanning the room with his headpiece “vantage” in nightvision mode.

”Vantage, Eagle Eye mode now.” he commanded.

”Eagle Eye mode activated.”

A blue burst, only visible by him escaped his body and went through the building, highlighting everyone inside. Any of his targets would be marked in red, the others blue. Bringing the scope back up to his field of vision he scanned the room until he located the man. He seemed to be talking to two people, a male and female. His eyes narrowed and instead of taking the shot he slung his rifle back into its place and withdrew “Alias” along with a smoke bomb and a Jester’s Laugh.

”Vantage, Eagle Eye/Thermal.”

EagleEye Thermal enhancement activated

He pulled up his message board and sent a message to the enforcer.

Inside The Void Sisters Nightclub

@Cinderella Man@Experiment 249

“I’m telling you Red. The motherfucker is going around and knocking off R3v314t1on members. It’s like…”Fuck the bigwigs lemme just take out the small expendable fuckers and leave them be.” It’s beyond frustrating. But about your group. Yeah. Project Savior I keep hearing them being called. Some sort of sanctioned group of players from the government...Something like that.”

The man took a swig of whiskey and placed it back on the counter.

“Look any of us could be next man. I suggest you wat - What the…” He tsked as he saw a message pop up in his holographic inbox. No name was attached to it but there was simply a picture and a code.

He looked confused for a moment until he realized what it was but by then it was too late. Spectre dropped in the smoke bomb shortly after the Jester’s laugh followed, exploding with loud sounds of fake gunfire but enough to light the other players’ maps up like a christmas tree. Location pings were all over the inside of the club and shortly as the place turned to chaos Spectre had fired off three rounds; two hitting Lanc3 in the chest and the last in the head, wiping him off the game completely. After the kill was confirmed by the disappearance of his body the assassin darted off. He didn’t know whether the other two were friends of his but he wasn’t going to stand around and find out.
