I liked Kill La Kill.
...I loved it when it was known as FLCL though (shots fired!)
((But no seriously they're both great shows))

Look at my avatar.

I think it's obvious I like Kill la kill also Nonon is best Elite Four.

... Also, um... I don't necessarily feel like there's more wholly fanservice-focused anime coming out. I do feel like people, jokingly or otherwise, make a lot of ruckus about them and magnifies their presence a lot.

Either way my issues with them are the same as Rin's.

@AtomicNut: That Maoyuu you're talking about? =3=;;

Also, in regards to the Raildexverse... I've read through all of NT (up to NT16) and am more or less up to date with the Railgun manga. I want Index 3 because it's give us the road to the New Testament arcs, and OH MY GOD ARE THEY AMAZING.

What we should all aspire to be.

...Aw man, but as much as I love Kill La Kill I don't think it's one of my absolute favourites... But that's because I'm old and the most recent of the absolute favourites is almost ten years old. ^^; Mind you, was basically made by the same people who did Kill La Kill so I supposed that has to count for something. XD

They also wander in and out of being stupid before just nosediving into wanting Kamachi to just avoid characters entirely, so... there's good and bad things. D:

Good music is the most important thing an anime can have.

And this is why Symphogear is an amazing thing.

I think its more that anime is still kind of maturing as a medium (though...honestly I kind of mash it together with western animation under 'animation' which...isnt the most popular view)
So right now im not sure we're gonna loose fanservice heavy shows just cause...its still a somewhat immature staple? (albeit one the industry is getting WAYYYY better at handling.)

And I hope im right, cause you can /bet your ass/ I would watch an ecchi highschool harem romance comedy that had an insanely deep and philosophical story.

That said, i'm super glad we're beyond the days of Eiken club.

I am a fan of a lot of Gainax's work. ^^;

...For the curious, my top five anime are Excel Saga, Gunbuster, Gurren Lagann, Neon Genesis Evangelion and Kino's Journey (which looks really out of place seeing the first four but hey). And... End of Evangelion is my favourite movie even if saying so makes me look kind of pretentious. ^^;

One of my top five magical girl anime.

I am very serious when it comes to magical girls.

The first series has a bit iffy animation, G has rather odd writing. GX gets a little bit episodic.

On the whole, though, very good. Especially the music. Music is extremely important and... well, it doesn't fail there. xD

@harinezumikouken: Symphogear is fantastic.

Also for the anime I like... I like a lot of anime. My favorites list is pretty enormous and runs the gamut of genres.

I love Nanoha, Fate/, Raildex, Lucky Star, K-On, Cardcaptor Sakura, Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill, Symphogear... the list goes on and on really.

Oh also Kara no Kyoukai. Kara no Kyoukai is my favorite movie series ever.

EoE was quite the acid trip. Also it doesn't pull out the punches when it comes to showing that 14 year old apocalypse pilots are not the best idea.

Regarding magical girl anime, i was a kind of a lewd twat back in the 90's who guiltyly watched Sailor Moon because of the miniskirts...

But if i had to pick a magical girl anime i would say...

Puella Magi Madoka Magika.

Puella Magi Madoka Magika

...As much as I liked the original series, it kind of got knocked off my top five due to several... Issues I have with both the fanbase and the fact that I believe it should've stayed as a stand alone thing and never franchised off into all those spinoffs (which for the most part are pretty bad).

It kind of gets to the point that I kind of unfairly assume that anyone who says that it's their favourite magical girl anime... Well, I usually assume that it's also the only magical girl anime they've seen. ^^;

...Still probably number six though if we only count the original series and disregard all the spinoffs and whatnot but hey.

@AtomicNut I was spoiled about Madoka and have never watched it as a result, because I'll see the plot twists coming, but here's a fun fact: Madoka's (Japanese, mind) VA: voices Hibiki. Given that Symphogear has three seasons and apparently two more planned... well, that's more her main role, even if it's not the famous one. xD
