I hate to be an know-it-all. But DJ's are kinda a do-it-all position. As I interviewed DJ's for my college application I got to see how much effort they put into one work day. They select the tracks based on a certain standard set by the station. They research all the things they will talk about during their shows. They work practically as stand up comedians nowadays. One of the DJ's I spoke to was even the musical director of his station.
As I have said I don't want to cause trouble or tell people how to role play. Once again... not cool. I'm just hoping to drop some inside the business knowledge to help this be the best pokemon radio show role play ever.
Except, uh, I know very well that what I said is true because I used to hear it every day on the radio when is as going to my college.
Every morning, from seven to nine, there was a show on the radio called the 'Free Beer and Hotwings Show' Basically, some idiots sat around the radio thing...and talked about stuff. No music at all. Just two hours of them talking, and not playing any music. They don't really do 'DJing' because that's not their job. Its their job to talk about stuff that may or may not be relevant.
So yeah.
While DJ's do exactly what you said, a Show Host is different. Show Hosts don't use music
at all for anything, except what they tell the DJ to at certain times if they need it.
EDIT: Apologies if I seem a bit harsh/agitated. I have just woken up and have yet to had any coffee/caffeine/shower yet because the shower is occupied and the coffee hasn't been made yet. >_<
