The First Day of School

The sun would be high in the sky. A clear day, one that most would enjoy. Humans would be going about their business dealing with daily life problems. From school to work, and all of the in-between. So unaware of the situation around them, as a bus was driving through town heading towards the tunnel. A bus seeming like a regular grey hound transport bus, but it's passengers are anything but ordinary. This was a bus of monsters all heading to their first day at Yokai Academy. Driven by a mysterious man in a bus driver get up, though his face would almost always be slightly shadowed with glowing eyes, only certain people would knew this man was a Nurarihyon, a yokai that can go where it wants when it wants without ever being seen. often referred as the commander of monsters.

The bus would soon enter the tunnel and after a flash of light come out on the other side... where there was no longer paved road, a place the tunnel shouldn't of lead to. they was suddenly next to a cliff side where the ocean sprayed up. a looming forest ahead of them, the sky slightly darker even in broad daylight. The bus would stop next to a bus stop sign and the doors would open for the students to get off. They would be told to simply follow the dirt roads and follow the maps they was given to reach the school. They would be briefed on the school rules at that moment as to insure no mishaps would happen, most of the rules would be classic school rules that most had to deal with. But two major rules stood out and that was; "No revealing your true selves to anyone" and "You must remain in your human forms for your stay at the school". Their meaning as obvious as ever. The entire purpose of this school was so the students could learn to live in the human world without causing trouble.

Katherin didn't think of herself as a monster. Of course she didn't think of herself as a human either. She was simply a witch. She could do things that human's couldn't do. It was something that everyone in the bus could do things humans couldn't do. She couldn't wait to met the other kids. When the bus stopped she climbed out of the bus. She joined the others when they gathered to listen to the rules of the school.

Mira sat on the bus watching the world pass her by as her roll a purple ball on her necklace between her fingers. She felt her tails and ears twitching under her skin. As a Kitsune in the human world she never really got to release what she prided herself on unless she was alone. She hoped this new school would be different. Once the bus stopped she got off and joined the others to listen to the rules. She looked around taking in her new surroundings.

Leo was half asleep when the bus stopped and was jarred awake by the other students getting up and walking off. Slowly getting to his feet, he was the last to get off, trying and failing not to yawn as the crowd gathered in wait for the rules to be explained. He kept slightly away from the others, trying to look inconspicuous while keeping an eye on the other students. He didn't know any of them, and wasn't entirely sure he wanted to. Being asleep on the bus certainly hadn't helped with that.

Einar entered the bus cautiously. It would take a while for him to get used to all those humans, "Who could have known that they were so many, and so different! he thought to himself a amazed.

The moment he stepped inside the bus, he felt a very weird aura coming from the other students, they didnt seem to be normal. Some of those auras were really strong. Strangely enough he felt a slight empathy to the girl playing with her necklace. It was like the feeling that he got when he was talking with the forest's spirits, and other creatures that had affinity with the nature. He wasnt certain though, because the girl also had a powerful aura coming from her, and it was hard to tell if the feeling he was getting was just stress from the situation.

He sat near the door, discreetly looking at each student warily. On top of that weird aura, he wasnt used to small, cramped places, where he couldnt move freely.

The tunnel seemed to last ages, the trip was nerve-wracking. The very moment the bus stopped he involuntarily was the first to get out of it, with a rather high and fast jump. Out of the bus he could feel a little more relaxed, Immediately he percieved that he jumped a little to high to a human, and looked quickly to his surroundings. "I think no one realized that" he thought.

"I can't be this careless, it wont be good if i get expelled from the school... It is, after all, my best bet to leard on how to live with the humans, in order to learn more about them"

When I boarded the bus, so much was on my mind. I had taught myself the common language, raised my own fire and strength without guidance or assistance, but now, after the struggle lasting over a decade, I finally had a place to further my experience more so though then I could do on my own in 10 years, 'Although I am so grand.'. I had briefly looked over my fellow monsters, they had parents, a home to go to after every day, and seemed like they fitted in well. These uniforms weren't exactly comfortable, and are true forms are forbidden in this school, then again I suppose its to help blend in with those cowarding humans we will be learning about. I suppose they are fascinating in their simplicity and mortality, nonetheless, this was it. I was ready to add to my experience.

Princess Suba's Wonderful Morning!

The scenery beyond the bus's window rolled by quickly, and Suba's face was practically glued to it.

So many new sights! And so strange too! Especially those buildings made of coral that stretched towards the sky! It was totally unlike the thatched wooden houses the human fishermen back home lived in, and nothing at all like the caverns that her kin called home. Speaking of home . . .

Her excited mood died down somewhat as she recalled why she was here in the first place. War was brewing -- or had already boiled over, if some where to be believed -- and rather than risk her life in the struggle between kingdoms, her father sent her here, where it was known that no clan had the power to order her death, or turn her over to them. This "Yokai Academy" was neutral ground, and the perfect sanctuary from opposing forces. Suba didn't even have half of an understanding about the politics in play, but it was enough to know that she was safe.

She only wished the rest of her family was as well.

Shaking her head, the smile returned to her face, full force. This was a new beginning! She wouldn't be able to make any new friends if she was busy sulking, so she would throw in with a smile on her face and the seas wave in her heart.

As soon as the bus stopped, Suba got to her feet and rushed outside to greet the morning air. Taking a deep breath, she filled her lungs before giving a cheerful yell of:

"GOOOOOOD MOOOOORNING!"

Her voice echoed loudly as she tuned her voice to go supersonic, and she spread her arms wide as she wanted to hug the whole forest.

Cabal Realizes That He's Been Had.

On the way to the academy, Cabal realized two things:

One, the other children around him were not humans, even if the people he passed by outside were.

Two, they weren't Aswang either.

Putting two-and-two together, he came to a third realization: He was, in fact, not being sent off to war, as his Lord-Father implied. Now that he thought about it, he never really did specify what he meant by him going to "a field of war like no other, where monsters of all kinds and walks of life gathered to hone their skills." In other words, school. Because this was a school bus, clearly. That would explain the uniforms as well, now that he thought about it.

Bloody double meanings.

However, he was still here under orders, so that meant there was a yet-to-be discernible purpose to his being here. Up until this point, blood and war were all he knew. Perhaps is Lord-Father wanted to expand his skill set? If that was true, he could see the wisdom in that, he just wished he told him about it in a more straightforward manner, rather than dancing around the issue and chucking him into a bus.

Taking a look a the others on the bus, he was unable to discern their true forms. Aswang could tell each other a part immediately, but the same could not be said when it came other races. He was worried about being surrounded by so many unknowns, and realized that this was another aspect of the battlefield. Unknowns were bound to be present, so it would be up to him to gather information, if he wanted to survive.

As the bus crawled to a halt, Cabal took a look a his new surroundings and smiled. A forest with a dark sky as an ominous backdrop. Just like home then. Perhaps adapting to living here wouldn't be so difficult.

Stepping off the vehicle, Cabal was greeted to sound of a girls cheerful yell.

"GOOOOOOD MOOOOORNING!"

Her very, very cheerful yell. His eye twitched as he fought a reflexive urge to pounce on her and tear out her throat in order to incapacitate a potential threat. It was a hard fought urge.

Einar is standing outside of the bus, looking at his surroundings, trying to hear or perceive anything that could pose a threat, still very wary due to the weird auras, when a very loud and cheerful
"GOOOOOOD MOOOOORNING!"
hurts his ears to the point he keels on the ground with his hands covering his ears, immediately suppressing his enhanced hearing.

Mira stood there with her arms crossed still rolling her ball on her necklace. She looked over at the guy who jumped a bit too high off the bus for someone to be considered normal. She was about about to introduce herself when another student yelled in a very high pitched voice. She covered her ears hissing trying to see where it came from.

My eye twitched at the cheerful, loud tone following a good morning call. I was very much tempted to go berserk and incinerate the joyful idiot that dared to annoy me, but I kept my cool. This was a place where I was supposed to subdue my flaws, not encourage them. I decided to douse this rage by socializing with these lower creatures. My eye got the attention of a girl playing with a ball upon jewelry. I would change seats so that I was across from her now, and spoke her way. "Aye, some annoying kids here huh?" I said with a calm and pridefully confident tone to the girl, who I now realized had the scent of a fox.

Einar stood up slowly after that very loud noise, his ears were still ringing...
"Ugh... that hurt real bad... Thought my head was going to explode" He said a little annoyed.
He was supposed to try and socialize, but he wasn't really used to people being friendly with him, or even talking to him at all, after all, everyone on his settlement treated him just as a tool, a hunting dog... disposable.
He tried to approach the two students that were talking near the bus, the girl who smelled like nature and a boy, who smelled like fire and ashes... A smell that irritated his nose. He ignored that and spoke with them.

"Greetings, how do you do?" he said with a small, polite nodding.

Mira uncovered her ears and tilted her head to the male in front of her. She smiled politely "yes there is" she took her fingers off of her necklace. She kept smiling as the other male who she was watching moments before the high pitched yell came up to her. "Hello to you too, I am doing okay" She said looking between them "felt like my ears were going to bleed a bit with that high pitched yell" She giggled and then stopped suddenly as her smiled faded. She started rolling the ball again one of her nervous habits.

Einar turned to the girl, he got a little nervous too, he has never talked with a female before.
He was actually nervous. Masking his nervousness (or at least trying) by being formal
"My ears are actually hurting pretty badly until now" he said, ignoring the flame boy.
He didn't knew why, but that girl made him feel different, he felt that he could trust that girl, she did smell like nature, she remembered him the forest, that he still loved, and his senses never failed him.

After a pause, looking down and trying to formulate the question on his head, in order to not look silly or rude, he asked her about her smell.

Cabal Tries To Meet People, Decides He Wants To Eat Them Instead

Urge to maim a stranger successfully resisted, Cabal looked around him. Students were beginning to form small groups already. Some were complete strangers, while others looked like they were already familiar with each other. He should do that. Forming alliances was key to survival in unfamiliar lands. The best option would be to form a friendship with an upperclassman, someone who knew the layout of the land, and was familiar with cultural practices; more importantly, they would have information on the most dangerous foes, and people of import.

He approached the nearest group; there were three of them in total. Two girls, one boy. The girl with white hair seemed nervous -- not a good ally -- the girl blonde one was also nervous, but not as much. The boy on the other hand, was just the picture of confidence. Reminded him of the Tikbalang archers he had encountered before. He wondered how much of the confidence was hubris, or genuine.

Four feet away from them he paused, and took a whiff.

The two girls smelled wonderful, almost as invitingly tantalizing as humans. Not the boy though -- he smelled like fire and ash, utterly repugnant. The girls however, smelled like meat. Tender, juicy, animal meat.

Now he was split. Make friends or have a meal?

He decided to at least greet his potential friendsmealwhichever first.

"Hello. You two look delicious," he said with an acknowledging nod to them, "is this your first year here?"

Suba Realizes That She Wants To Jump Off A Cliff

Feeling refreshed, Suba literally began running in circles to wear off her excess excitement. She couldn't wait to meet new people!

As she ran, however, a tugging feeling began in her chest and she paused. This sensation was so familiar, it was impossible to mistake. It was the call of the waves. Following the tug, she slowly approached the edge of the cliff, and looked down. Her eyes widened and shined with wonder and glee as she beheld the sight foamy white water smashing against the cliff side. The roaring of the tides beckoned her to join them, and she was sorely tempted to comply.

She longed to join with the waves, to just jump down and keep swimming.

I mean, who could resist taking a dip in waves like those!

She sat down on the edge, energy drained out of her, and just content to watch the washing of the waves.

Einar's instincts were yelling.
First the boy who smelled like flames, now the other one who smelled like darkness.
Something wasn't right. Instinctively, got in front of the girl and with a fierce look and a menacing posture, with his nervousness completely gone, he backed away, pushing her away from them with his back. He didnt knew why he did this. He was used to protecting his closest hunting companions like that...

He hypothesised that the flame boy, who stood with an almost annoying ammount of self confidence, would clash with the dark one. They seemed very arrogant, both of them.

"It is our first year, yes." He said politely, but firmly.
"If you dont mind, we need to go now." He said instinctively reaching for his dagger, ready for anything, he felt an incredible amount of hostility coming from the one who reeks darkness.
"It was nice to meet you." he said, backing out without taking his eyes off him.

"The flame guy doesnt seems to want us bad, but the other guy reeks hostility, and it is clearly, a bigger threat" he thought to himself.

Mira stood up straight behind the male and stepped around him. She wasn't use to people being protective of her. Even though she didn't need it, it brought a small smile to her face. She tilted her head to the male that called her delicious. She looked him square in the eyes. She felt her fire burn underneath her skin. She did not want to make any enemies. She saw the other male backing away but she didn't follow. "Yes it is the first year" she said as she turned to look at all of them. "I have been rude my name is Mira by the way" she gave them a sweet yet semi flirtatious smile.

I raised an eyebrow at what was transpiring. Two new guys, one who seemed a tad bit annoying, and the other well, far to confident for my liking, had approached and spoken to us. I didn't speak, and I resisted the urge to chuckle at how puny they were, but I knew better. I came to this school to rid myself of these sins, I have to not sport my prideful instincts so much. Despite the annoyance, i smiled, though that faded when one of them started acting very strangely. He reminded me of a cornered prey that was desperate for any option of survival, which was strange to witness on an outsider's perspective. The man of some sort of, unknown smell to me, had seemed to trigger this response. And this time I couldn't help but mock the scene with laughter. "whats the matter chicken-boy, being scared on the first day?" I said in between laughter. I eventually controlled my humor and continued. "Lad you're gonna scare the poor girl on her first day to. C'mon guys were all just students here there isn't anything to be afraid of."

I looked back to the girl who proclaimed herself to be Mira. "You guys can call me Jackal." I gave a cocky, shit eating grin to the group.

Einar got surprised as the girl went foward.

Still holding his dagger, he began strafing the group, analyzing them, just like a hunter would do with his prey.
If a fight started, he would be the first to notice, and would be able to defend himself.
Inside his leather armor, he fetched a special poison flask, that would explode, creating a thick smoke with a soniferous effect.

He wasnt one to flee, but if cornered, he would retaliate.

"Wonderful... we dont know even our names and we already are almost Killing ourselves" he muttered to himself, holding himself to not show his true form. due to the sressful situation, it was very hard to control himself.

Charles would be watching the group and shakes his head before taking off towards the school as they needed to.

The bus driver would suddenly put his hand on Einar's shoulder when no one even realized he was standing there, the bus driver would be for some reason holding a sword all of a sudden "I hope no one is thinking of causing a disturbance" he says his eyes narrowed, from his aura it was clear anyone who starts a ruckus would be big trouble, he eyes mostly focused on Einar "you do realize Student weapons aren't allowed on school grounds." he states.

"Rest of you get heading off you heard the rules get to class it starts in one hour" he states.

Mira smiled as Jackal "It is nice to meet you Jackal" She said. She didn't fully trust anyone here but herself. She has always had major trust issues. She jumped a bit when she saw the bus driver "No of course not sir, just making friendly conversation" she said with a smile. As she walked past the boy with a hand on his dagger she whispered "You're the one who was ready to kill and you know my name" she continued walking towards the school giggling. She was ready to start classes. After an eventful morning like that she couldn't wait to see what else was waiting for her.
