Isn't that the point?

I'm not sure I understand the question. KoL was disappointed that so many characters weren't gung ho to go kill each other for the sake of pointless violence. I explained why

Unfortunately most people aren't really motivated to fight for the sake of fighting, they're usually motivated because there's some sort of incentive involved. In a situation where it is just War for the sake of the War, but it's also a War that no one seems to be making any actual progress on, it's not surprising that discontent with the status quo is going to increase without either financial or material incentives to keep going.

Or because they've been brainwashed, but you already nixed that idea.

I believe that incentive isn't much of an issue. There's plenty of room for whatever cause characters are dedicated to. Its not very different from a setting like Warhammer 40k, for example. The prospect may be grim, but you still need to fight because not only can you try to do what you believe in/want to, but also because even if victory is unlikely, of you give up, defeat is certain.

In other words, you fight not to win, but to avoid losing, pretty much like any other War that had dragged for too long.

@Flamelord@KoL
I mean characters have individual motivations. To my knowledge, Juno, Balrog, and Graf are the only ones that fight for the sake of fighting.

Seriously speaking, I don't think that that is Juno's current goal. When I first introduced her, I was very discontent with Eclipse Princess as a character for reasons that don't need to be explained again. This she was an empty character. I changed my mindset now and trying to evolve her through more than one channel, some of those changes should have been perceptible on Hohenheim's event.

In other words, while fighting is Juno's Raison d'Être, it's not the most important thing for her anymore.

I mean, that runs into a fallacy of sorts because the fight here is 'Because I want the entire Nexus and not just my infinite portion of the Nexus.' In WH40K there are places where you don't have to ever see the front lines and you can basically live a normal life, propaganda of the xenophobic/fascist Imperium aside. Whereas in the Nexus you can't exactly tap out and go to recover somewhere where there is no influence from the War. And opposed to WH40K, the only existential threats that exist can actually b talked to, and don't pose an actual risk until all the sides sally forth to go meet in glorious combat.

After all, Alt Signia was the only fight we've had where combat took place in a pre-controlled location. Its not like we've seen any place like Cadia yet.

I guess we all just forget Juno's daughter is being held hostage, huh?

You're right. That does seem pointless. Maybe someone should do something about it IC instead of lampshading it OOC.

Would if I could, but given that this is an RP centered around the War, I get this nagging sensation that you wouldn't approve of making a character to go have slice of life adventures in some other part of the Nexus. And I can't exactly control where the battles are fought.

The Demon invasion isn't happening right away.

Your collab made it seem like they are already leaving, to day the truth. That said, unless Lucille is setting her subordinates up, attacking after the battle for Arcadia is going to be a bad idea.

Read the collab. Lucille sent people to do their jobs.

Then please tell me what the point is. Snarky comments about how I should do something without indicating what it is you think I should be doing in the context of what you deem possible in the RP does not help me decide what I should be doing to assist in world building.

@Flamelord Miyu is already running around having slice of life adventures. You can just have Tartys go "You know what, I need a break... Huh, when Miyu sent me that reverse-birthday present, she said we should hang out sometime. Maybe I should see if she's available."

Well I was looking for stuff that Tartys could do in the next interlude, so that works. Once Miyu is busy having fun with her new symbiote or whatever

@KoL In other words, the only person actually in heaven from hell willingly right this second is going to be Artoria. And she's basically going to peek her head out a portal, and then back the fuck out when her bunny ears tell her "Danger Will Robinson, Danger."

I think the point is that while the setting is suppose to promote total war, not exactly any incentive for anyone to actually go through with t aside from personal reasons/orders. Graf fights because he wants to, so whatever. Fran may be a rapist but I can also see her not actively involving herself in a battle and just go screw around elsewhere, even outside of delincontrolled space. Literally. Hell even Dora does that in her implies off time when she's hunting Thunder Stones.

Now could Fran get swarmed by angel/Machina/rando monsters while she's out and about? Sure, but that's a given in the Nexus. But if she says, meets up with Titania, the only reason they'd fight is for personal reasons. Unless Eos calls in, Titania has no obligation to fight Fran at that moment, and Fran would be more interested in sex then killing.

All in all, just do your own thing. You want to try and meet some other characters for a meet up that doesn't involve killing eachother, give it a go. Really I think the only people who'd try to stop you would be the GM's, and only to maintain the status quo. And considering the importance of our characters, it's not like what we're doing is particularly revolutionary anyways. Annoying at worse.
