@Jbcool To be fair, Saptheth is in full armour, and from the images I'm seeing of them from the LotR wiki, Easterlings do have armour in the general area of where you wrote Eorl as striking. And since he does have ale on his breath at all, one could mistake Eorl's actions as at least partially alcohol-influenced, as perhaps Saptheth did here (and myself, since it was mentioned). I can change how he reacts to the whole situation, if you'd like, maybe have him stumble a bit from the initial pommel strike?

Well, as a guy who loves beer, I feel for Eorl. Even if you drink one pint, you still end up stinking like an ale barrel.

As for how armoured Saptheth, even though I'm obviously neither the GM nor the character's owner, I feel like he wouldn't be brought before the king with his mask on? I thought Eorl basically cut him at the neck a bit, which would be exposed due to the lack of a a helmet. At least that's how I imagined the scene anyway.

Indeed, Easterlings tend to have scale mail and cloth if nothing else, though that is 400 years after this period in time, keep in mind. Might not be too different though.

@POOHEAD189 For sake of ease, I'm assuming kataphrackts in the current time period aren't immensely different from how they are near the end of the Third Age, meaning a fairly similar armour design overall. Perhaps not identical, but as an ex-officer and the equivalent of a knight, "full armour" probably means protection around the shoulder and collarbone, amongst other places.

@Vor I've also been assuming the above includes a helmet, which seem to cover a lot of the face, plus scarves underneath. So.

I know, the post is both late and not very good - lack of actual information etc - but I'm currently working nights and am pretty much hanging out my backside.
