@LuckyBlackCatI hope you do not mind if Oscar becomes a protective figure for Sophia and draws out her latent abilities.

@fer1323 I don't mind. I like the idea of them helping each other quite a lot over the course of this RP.

@LuckyBlackCat I think Sophia could help Oscar with his lack of understanding of poeple's emotions.

@fer1323 Yeah, though he already understands some things quite well, for example he sees right through Sophia's facade.

Having said that, it seems both Sophia and Oscar get along better with Pokemon than with human beings atm, for their own reasons.

@LuckyBlackCatTheir understanding of pokemon is mainly due to the fact that most pokemon are easy to read and mostly lack the need to deceive, other than the dark and ghost types. Even the ghost types are not inherently evil as they are either playing away for fun or surviving in a morbid way.

@fer1323 Though if we're going philosophical here, killing for fun is about as evil as it gets. If they were just animals you could make the excuse that they don't know what they're doing but...well some of them are quite intelligent. Then you have Froslass that, as the pokedex says: "When it finds humans or Pokémon it likes, it freezes them and takes them to its chilly den, where they become decorations." I mean that's pretty bad, especially since it's an intelligent creature (it used to be human)

Really by that kind of logic, evil would only exist if one was committing these acts in the name of evil...which really doesn't happen (aside from cartoons).

@fer1323 @Heckno12 Yeah, a lot of Pokemon seem to be somewhere in between animal-like and human-like. I guess humans would find most of them pretty easy to read, though.

@Heckno12 that is why I said that the only ghost and dark types are the closest to being evil. In dnd term, They are more chaotic than evil. 'A chaotic neutral character is an individualist who follows their own heart and generally shirks rules and traditions. Although chaotic neutral characters promote the ideals of freedom, it is their own freedom that comes first; good and evil come second to their need to be free' best describes ghost types. What do you think?

@LuckyBlackCatI would say that is about right on average.

@fer1323 It depends on the ghost type, I guess. Some just scare people and pull pranks, while others are outright dangerous. And there is that blurry line between animal and human.

@fer1323 The chaotic bit sure, but I still have to say that by that logic evil hardly exists (unless you count demons as they're usually supposed to embody it) No, in the end it's all a matter of perspective. I mean, technically Ghetsis was chaotic neutral as he was merely promoting his own freedom to do as he pleased.

@fer1323 Yep, I've played DnD (chaotic neutral charas are so much fun)

I guess a lot of Pokemon, even intelligent ones, wouldn't have the same concept of morality as humans do. In the anime, I seem to remember a Gastly, Haunter and Gengar pulling Ash and Pikachu out of their bodies just because they wanted friends.

@LuckyBlackCat Every sentient being has a slightly different take on morality. For example, Robin hood can be classified to be chaotic good because he goes against the established 'goverment' but will go lawful once a government ,that aligns with his values, comes into power.

@fer1323 Yeah. Chaotic good and chaotic neutral are personally my favourite alignments for characters.

There's going to be quite a bit of moral complexity later on in this RP. It'll start in Vareena, with a Team Noble admin who's somewhat more sympathetic than the others, according to Heckno.
