Mistress Hollow or at the time Lara Hollow was born in Blackthorn city a particularly famous town in the Johto region. Blackthorn is so well known because of the Dragon Den as well as one of the few gyms that specialize in dragon type Pokémon, the trainers who come out of this city are known to be exceptional as well. She grew up around Pokémon being that her parents were trainers, they weren’t anything super famous just regular attendees. Lara herself spent a good portion of her young life watching Pokémon battles and when the day came for her to leave on her own journey to prove herself she did without a second thought. Because Blackthorn was close to New Bark Town the trip would have been quite an easy first step, however, she was given her first Pokémon by the caretakers for the Dragon’s Den as a form of ritual and thus the team of Lara and Dratini was formed.
Even though she started in Blackthorn city it was still advised for her to start at the flying gym in Violet city and come back once she has proven to be a capable trainer. Lara traveled quite far from home training and catching new Pokémon, new bonds and rivals’ things every trainer needs to grow stronger, she may have lost a few battles along the way but it was never enough to keep the girl down for long. From the Zephyr badge to the Plain badge, Lara and her team of Pokémon seemed to be on a roll, but Goldenrod city is where her story took a left turn in the form of Team Rocket. A sort of mafia of Pokémon thieving thugs whose goal was to take over the world using Pokémon, she just happened to run into a few of the grunts attempting to steal from another trainer; after defeating them she grew curious and while doing her gym challenge sought to learn everything she could about them.
Upon her arrival to Olivine City she met a few more members of Team Rocket, thankfully they were repealed by the Gym leader of the city, but not before they made off with the Ampharos who worked the lighthouse. Leader Jasmine gave her word she would accept Lara’s challenge if she rescued the electric-type and Lara accepting being that she was going to chase Team Rocket before getting a badge anyway. She chased those grunts for days finally cornering them in Mahogany Town where, to her surprise, there was a base for the organization stationed just north of the city itself. Lara was completely dedicated to cause and if she had to go through the entire legion of criminals she would in the name of freeing one Pokémon. Poking her nose where it didn’t belong got her an unexpected audience with Giovanni the Mafioso himself who was there to draft Ampharos into his own personal, team, Lara wasn’t going to let that happened, she was too invested at this point to turn back and the idea of stealing Pokémon was unforgivable. Hollow didn’t exactly win, but she didn’t lose either as the battle caused the building to become vastly unstable and both parties had to make a temporary exit in Lara’s favor who managed to snag Ampharos’s poke ball.
Lara Hallow returned to Olivine City victorious freeing Ampharos allowing it to maintain its duty over the lighthouse, as promised Jasmine battle her giving the young trainer her sixth badge. Eventually, she returned to Blackthorn city a fully realized trainer and more than capable of taking on the leader of her hometown Clair. After earning her eighth badge she qualified for the league, but she also got more news on Team Rocket and that their main base was stationed in the Kanto region, giving up on her championship challenge she chartered a boat and went straight to Kanto. The best way to collect information or just plain bring attention to herself was to develop a name for herself so she took the gym leader challenge out of necessity instead of ambition. Other than a few grunts and executives the entire trip seemed to be fruitless as she could not get Giovanni to show himself but another mystery presented itself on Cinnabar island. Mewtwo a clone of an ancient mythical Pokémon that got completely out of hand, another example of taking advantage of Pokémon, Lara was getting sick of this and it was starting to show.
Somewhere along the way she found herself gathering badges in the Hoenn league again, never challenging the actual league itself, years rolled by and Lara Hollow lost all sight of her original goal and why she started her journey in the first place the fire in her eyes was completely gone. Gangsters, cloning Pokémon and now these Eco-terrorists in Hoenn were all the painted her memories so all at once she just stopped and settled down after defeating Wallace the water gym leader. She settled down in Sinnoh, a place no one knew her so the legend of the thrown-less champion ended rather quietly as she wanted to just fade away into obscurity. The married life for the one who used to be called Battle Mistress Hollow wasn’t for her; her body couldn’t sit still and before long she found herself going to gym after gym. It wasn’t until she defeated Byron she realized she was pregnant, which made her force herself to quit being a trainer and start trying to be a mother.
Hollow’s body still longed for a challenge, but her mind wouldn’t allow it no matter what; her cold disposition and standoffish attitude wasn't suited to be a mother any more than it was suited to be a wife.
