Lunalel Lightsword

Luna almost spoke up, suggesting a blacksmith. . . But. . . She was sure Selvinia wouldn't be interested in armor. "Now that you mention it. . ." She had nothing. Luckily, there was a pretty fashionable group of girls walking nearby and Luna supposed that they might have an idea. "Pardon me, ladies." Luna called out to them.

The group turned to her with a questioning look. "Y-yes?" They asked, confused why a woman in armor would stop them in the middle of the street on their way to . . . Well, somewhere. "Did you need something?"

"Ahh, yes, actually. You ladies all look lovely, so I was curious if you knew someplace you could get lovely clothes such as what you have on now." The Knightess answered them. They all blushed as if someone confessed to them before answering Luna and scurrying away. Luna was happy for an answer but. . . "Well, they said there is a nice tailor. . . I know where it is now, so I can lead you there. . . If you wanted clothes that is. I know a good place for just about anything else. Just let me know and I can lead you there. . . But. . . Before that." Luna hesitated for a bit before asking, "I'm not scary am I? Those girls left in quite the hurry."

Eith the Shellagh Alpha

How did Eith know her? Well, there were plenty of ways to put it. Annoyance was the first to come to Eith's mind. . . Sending her out with information that eventually put her in the care of a certain Meal-ticket. "Long ago I suppose I could have called her friend. . . Benefactor after that. Now I suppose just general pest. Too tricky and schemy for her own good." Eith was more than happy to give away the truth. There was hardly ever a benefit to hiding it after all. It just made complicated situations even more so. "That's just about as much as there is to need to know on that." The Sheallagh dug into the food in front of her again.

Mugi, the Yuki-Onna

Mugi say the red look over Cynthia's face, but didn't say anything. She didn't want to get hit or anything again. Still, Mugi couldn't say that Cynthia didn't know what she was doing. The massage otherwise felt good. Too good, it felt a bit like she was melting into the cool water. . . "AAhhhhhh, I wouldn't mind having this everyday. I can tell why you're so confident in your skills. I'm a bit jealous of the Headmistress."

~Livia~

"If you leave Fia dear," Livia called out as she left. "You're not getting any answers tonight. I do believe my exact words were 'sit'. I do not see you doing much of that." Livia replied with a small sigh. Well, at least the water was a bit warmer now. She had hoped Fia would do it in a little more...controlled manner, but that would come later she supposed. She seemed....calmer, or at least tired now. Livia was trying to make a point here. That even if you didn't like something, you would have to put up with it and do it anyways. Even if everything was telling you not to do something, to do it anyways. How else could someone better themselves?

It seemed Fia still had a long way to go, though.

~Cynthia~

"Consider yourself lucky." Cynthia scoffed. Of course they were good. Mugi's jealousy was well placed. She was quite lucky to be receiving such treatment. She had never even offered such a thing to anyone else before. Soon enough though, Cynthia had finished with the massage of her shoulders and back. Doing anything else would require a bit more room and time she didn't particularly want to invest at the moment.

So the Maid took a seat back in the water next to the Yuki-Onna. Honestly though, it'd be rather nice to be on the receiving end for once.

~Miren~

"I...see." Miren said, narrowing her eyes at Eith for a few moments. That had been rather light on the explanatory side and hadn't really helped her much at all. With a sigh, Miren shook her head, bunny ears flopping around lightly as she nibbled lightly on some carrots. Well, she supposed that was that then. Not much else she could do at the moment. Even if she did find this Myrilla, what exactly could she do? She wasn't skilled at anything really, aside from her knowledge about different magics, theories, and other academic subjects. "T-thank you for the information I suppose."

The magierprinz gave Luna a smile as she discussed her interaction with the other girls. "What? Of course not, you are polite and caring towards others! They have no reason to be scared of you!" Swen found himself speaking quickly as the other girl made a ridiculous suggestion. Who in their right mind would be afraid of a Lightsword unless they were an evil doer?

"... Now um ... if you could lead the way Luna? To the clothes?" The noble still had no idea exactly where they were being sent off to.

The phoenix hear the headmistress call out after her, but she'd already left the room as she mulled over the words on the warmer side for a few seconds.

Was it really necessary for the teacher to make her suffer?
On the other hand, she wanted answers, didn't she? And to be truthful, she'd been through worse, right?

After about a minute, the door to the cold side would open again with the crimson haired girl entering once more with a large towel wrapped around her torso as she sat down at the edge of the pool, shooting the headmistress a look that said I came back before crossing her arms and scowling at some of the nearby tiles. Livia would probably be able to feel a slight sense of betrayal and frustration run through the bond they shared.

Eventually she spoke though, still looking away. "... I just wanted ... a warm towel ..." It wasn't a lie exactly - the girl didn't feel like sitting naked on a pool side while Livia and others could see her - she had learnt a sense of modesty since arriving at the academy. But she had needed a moment to herself after that entire experience.

Luna returned the smile to Selvinia as she nodded. "Understood. It's not like they could see the scars on my back anyhow." That was the "scariest" thing about her. With that thought out of mind for now, she beckoned her companion. "With that behind us, come. We shall go to where that girl suggested." Luna led Selvinia to a store. . . It was a nice tailor, at the least. There were plenty of outfits there. Many modest, and many not so modest. Luna just looked at some of the wares from outside the store and it seemed that one side of the store had nice, high quality robes, dresses and the like. The other side however. . . Well, Luna did not want to think about it. "I. . . Umm . . ." She did her best to ignore the one side. Any woman in an outfit like those. . . Would be showing off too much for Luna. Like looking into the sun. It sort of was just embarrassing, having shown up here. On the other hand, the other clothes were great quality. "Your c-choice. The one side looks fair enough."

Eith the Shellagh Alpha

"Uhnn. Not like I'm on Myrilla's side or anything." Eith mentioned. Myrilla might have messed up with Eith's eating arrangements with what she did. Well, not that Eith was 100% sure, but it was quite likely. She was at least 99% sure. "My suggestion though, is to not have anything to do with the woman. I don't believe most people could do a thing to her. At least here on campus I think the Headmistress might be able to do something. That's . . . The feeling I get." She dug into her food again. At least the rabbit wasn't running away. She was easy on the eyes. There was something about rabbit ears that was cathartic to the Shellagh, most of all when she was rubbing against the rabbit.

Mugi, the Yuki-Onna

"Thanks. That felt wonderful." Mugi cooed. "I kind of owe you now, don't I? If there's anything I can do, just let me know." Not only did Cynthia have to skip out on the hot bath for a cooler one, she also gave the cold-to-the-touch Mugi a massage. It was amazing to Mugi that the maid could still feel her fingers as she did. "You're kind of amazing you know?"

~Livia~

"Hmph, angry are we Fia?" Livia replied with a small smile. "I assure you, I did not put you through that with ill intent. Sometimes to get something out of life, you need to do something whether you like it or not. Some of the most worthwhile things one could achieve are ones you suffer for. You just need to be careful not to injure yourself in the process." Clearing her throat, Livia turned her head back to the water.

"You want answers, little Fia? Who are you...that answer should be obvious. You are Fia, are you not? And you are my familiar for the moment, however short of a time span that might be." Livia's smile faded a little, as she turned back to Fia. "Now, who you were and what you are are entirely two different things. You know that humans can not be familiars, correct? So what does that make you, then?"

As much as Livia would answer the questions, she also would like Fia to work out the answers herself. Nothing in life was simply given, and Livia could - and would if the girl could not find an answer herself within a timely manner, but for now...there was no need for Livia to do such a thing. The girl had a good head on her shoulders, she just needed to use it.

~Cynthia~

"I-it was nothing." Cynthia replied. As cold as Mugi was, it was nothing to the maid. Yes, her fingers were a bit numb but it would pass quickly. She had been trained by the best, after all...though it wasn't her first time giving someone a massage in cold weather, admittedly. "It is my job, nothing more nothing less. And there is nothing at all you can do for me." She huffed. Really, there wasn't. She was just happy to be able to serve and practice her skills. "But...perhaps I could do it again sometime?"

Cynthia turned her head off to the side, not looking at Mugi directly, as she sank her arms into the water.

~Miren~

Not having anything to do with the woman? That sounded wise, honestly, but...Miren needed to see her. Or at least, speak with her about something. Nothing she wanted to go into too much detail about now, but it was something she wasn't going to change her stance on. Perhaps she should ask the kind Headmistress? She had been most welcoming and did seem quite powerful...but she never wanted to ask because she felt like she'd be imposing upon her when she had already been such a great help.

"I see..." Miren replied quietly. "She's that bad, huh? She'd probably kill my little bunny buns easily then, heh..." Miren chuckled in a somewhat defeated manner. Well, at least the food was good and Eith hadn't eaten her yet...maybe she should ask? The hound didn't seem overly violent...nor had seemed to make any mention of eating her at all. "S-so, uhm, Eith..." She began, a bit nervously. "If you, erm, don't mind me asking...why are you being nice to me? Y-you're not gonna eat me are you?"

The bunny's ears twitched nervously, dreading the answer and expecting it to be an easy 'yes'.

The magierprinz seemed to look at the other woman as she looked between the two sides. It wasn't exactly a surprise that she wasn't in favor of the more revealing clothes both as a knight and due to the reputation of her family. Quite frankly, the other noble was in agreement as well and simply nodded towards Lady Lightsword in hopes that they would get this over with soon. It would be extremely exposing to wear something from that other side.

As the two went between the isles, the magierprinz found himself looking at various dresses and such. It hadn't been difficult to find a mirror, and truthfully aside from having a slight chest and a rather large butt most things hadn't changed. At least the new body looked nice?

After asking for the other woman's advice, the two managed to select several fairly conservative dresses that didn't conform to hard to one's figure. Although it would probably be best to ask a girl with less conservative tastes to help out eventually, this was only supposed to be a temporary transition.

A blush ran across the noble's face as they arrived in the underwear section. Oh, there were so many options!? Lacey, cute, sexy. Bras that were light, or had fabric hanging from beneath them for a bit more coverage. "So ummmm ... what do you like ... Lady Lightsword?" At this point the man had zero guidance towards what they were getting.

Of course, it didn't occur to the magierprinz that was practically asking her what she was wearing.

The familiar didn't really look up as the other woman spoke to her, still upset about the entire ordeal. Couldn't she have learned to summon fire outside of this room, where it hurt so much? Like, out in a park on a nice day or something?

Still though, she obviously craved learning what the other woman knew, so she decided to play along like a good girl with Livia's game. "... I'm the phoenix ... although what that is ..." Before she could explain more though, she caught a portion of what the headmistress was saying.

"And what do you mean ... however short of a time span ...?" Fia looked up, some concern in her face. She didn't want to have those horrid nightmares again, or to leave Livia. She'd started to get used to how she worked. And she was safe for the first time in her life.

"What do I like?" Luna asked as a reply. Well, she prefered pants and armor of course. She was turned away looking at something else, but when she did point her vision in Selvinia's direction she saw exactly what the girl meant. "Oh. . . Ahhh. . . Ummm. I, uhhh. . . I don't wear anything like that normally. I bind my chest tight enough to not get in the way, but not so much it hurts." Lunalel obviously seemed embarassed to say that much. She turned her head slightly to avert gaze. "But if you're not a warrior, you probably would have no use for it. Maybe go for someth-thing cute. It'd work for you, probably."

Luna wasn't use to this type of thing. She was thinking that Lyssa might be better at this. . . Though, perhaps she would be worse about it. "It's a bit odd talking to someone I just met about this type of thing. . ." Her cheeks were a bit flushed.

Eith the Shellagh Alpha

Eith just had to stare at Miren for a dozen or so seconds in an attempt to process what the rabbit just said. "Why would I want to eat you? Do you make a habit of eating things you found cute?" Eith asked the bunny, confused why she would think Eith would want to eat her. So Eith decided to think on it for a few seconds. "Oh, I get it. I didn't really get it much earlier. We Shellagh don't just eat everything in sight you know. . . Not that we really have a problem eating everything or anything. . . But it's not in my plans to eat you. I made a promise to Meal-Ticket not to harm humans. I keep my promises and you're close enough to human."

Mugi, the Yuki-Onna

Mugi pushed slightly into Cynthia. "Geez, if you insist. . . I suppose I could have you do that again." Mugi sarcastically added. "That said, I'm sure there's something I could do for you. I. . . Don't have many skills. . . But. . . There's probably something. . . Right?" Mugi sounded unsure with herself, but she wasn't one to leave a favor unreturned.

~Livia~

"Oho, caught that did you?" Livia chuckled. "Fia, dear, I do believe I told you I would have rather you choose someone else when you chose me." The headmistress sighed with a small smile. "I am quite old, Fia, much older than I look. Magic can only keep one alive for so long - I've lived well past my time, but enough of that." Livia stood, getting out of the water with a tired yawn.

"Ugh, here I was hoping for a day off and all I get is the usual..." She grunted, walking out of the pool. "Come then, Fia. If you wish to learn more - why not visit the Library? I'll make sure Miren knows you are coming and she can help you find something." For now, she just wanted to return home and sit in the study and maybe do some reading...

~Cynthia~

Something Mugi could do? Well, Cynthia couldn't think of anything. She was the one who had to take care of people and think of things she could do. She was simply fine with doing that herself. It was a little...odd, being asked if there was something someone could do for her. Not unwelcome, but she had simply never encountered the situation before and wasn't sure how to handle it.

"...Dinner. This weekend. I will cook."

Was that a date again? That sounded awfully like a date.

~Miren~

Eith didn't sound too convincing, but Miren would just have to take her word for it, wouldn't she? With a slight sigh of relief the chimera rested her chin on the table.

"Waaah, that's a relief. Doggies are so mean to little bunny bun. Always trying to nibble on my buns or chase me. It's not fun." Honestly though, Miren was a bit exhausted after all of this. She could go for a nice warm bath...or just getting back to her work. Either would be fine. "Ah, uhm, thanks for the food, Eith." Miren said, hopping out of her chair. "I need to get back to work though...uhm, maybe stop by the library later if I'm not busy."

She was going to 100% regret that, but it was only polite to offer. With that, Miren started to leave.

At least it was as embarrassing for the other girl as it was for Selvina. Here the two of them were, blushing in an aisle, being nervous about underwear together. It was a bit ridiculous, really, but it made the newly-made-girl feel a bit better about their own confusion. "S-sorry! You can go if you want!"

Still though, Swen ended up picking up something light pink with lots of frills. This was cute, right? Grabbing a few more things of similar colors that looked like they would fit as well, the noble headed into the changing rooms and tried everything on. Miraculously, his intelligence had allowed him to guess what sizes would be correct almost instantly.

Also, Selvina was avoiding observing themselves too much while changing. That could happen later at home. Leaving the changing room, the noble approached Luna. "Um ... thanks. I'm going to buy this and go home, alright?"

The phoenix looked around nervously as the headmistress reminded her of their arrangement. The crimson hair girl didn't want to inconvenience the older woman but ... who else could she trust? And it was always a bit strange when the mage mentioned being too old - she hardly looked thirty, was something else going on? It wouldn't be a surprise but the girl found herself very curious.

It was rather obvious the other woman was frustrated though, so the girl tried to hold herself together for the rest of the day. It wasn't her fault ... but Livia really was looking out for her best interest, wasn't she? "... I could do that ..." She felt a bit more confident walking around campus on her own now after Sorcha seemed a bit more settled with her.

Luna nodded at the girl she was helping. "Ahh, no. It's fine. I'm just glad I could be of help. If you see mean around, don't be a stranger." Luna said before bowing and leaving, still somewhat embarassed. Now she just needed to pick up Sorcha and they could go eat. She was rather hungry and she was sure the dragon-girl would be as well. She would keep what just happened a secret outside "Helping a friend."

Eith the Shellagh Alpha

"Ahh, yea. Glad to treat you." Eith said as she practically swallowed the meat she had left and left coin enough for the food and left with Miren, stopping the bunny and looking her in the eyes. "I won't eat you. Shellagh's word." She said, as if everyone knew just how trustworthy the Shellagh Alphas should be. After her words, she let go and headed off in the direction of Meal-Ticket's place. "Until next time, Adorabunny."

Soon enough, Eith found herself at Meal-Ticket's place and she lightly opened the unlocked door, peaking in to make sure Lyssa was not there. It didn't seem it, and her scent was mostly gone so it was a safe bet the girl was gone. Eith just sat on the bed, wondering what else to do. She did want to confirm on Meal-Ticket's issue. Eith could identify with anyone that had troubles with Myrilla, though Meal-Tickets far outweighed the month's worth of scaring people that Eith had.

Mugi, the Yuki-Onna

Dinner? Well, that didn't sound too bad. Cynthia was a smart woman, so she could probably figure out something good that was cold. But still, "That's not really me doing something for you if you're cooking. . . But fine. We can do something this weekend. . . However! Mugi said poking Cynthia in the temple. "I get to make a dessert. . . Make sure to have your favorite fruit juice and I'll make something good. Ok?"

~Sorcha & Maoin~

The next day, the dragon kept her promise. The following morning she spoke with Livia regarding Gwynn and Maoin. It went about as well as she expected it to. The headmistress was fairly stalwart in her silence about the girls whereabouts. She did manage to glean a bit of insight about the girl though. She was heading off on some ship - Livia had given her command of the damn thing. She didn't know what game the headmistress was playing with that, but it left a bit of a bad taste in her mouth. She also managed to learn about where she was heading. It left her in a rather irritable mood, to be honest, but she had said she’d help the kitten and she would.

Now she just had to wait on the kitten to show up for the training session. She had told her to arrive early, and Sorcha was curious as to just how dedicated the kitten was to this whole thing. The dragon, was not by any means, going to go easy on her. She was standing by the lake, dressed in her usual armor, glaive planted in the ground as she waited rather impatiently. She’d make sure to tell the kitten after the training so she didn’t try and get any funny ideas.

The kitten arrived several minutes before the assigned time, eyes seeing the figure of Sorcha standing out in the dark. Dressed in the same dress as the previous day, the black haired girl arrived with a sword at the hip and a small canteen of water since she assumed she would need it at some point. Maoin told herself she would do whatever she possibly could to impress this dragon, and her body would have to be incapable of moving before she gave up.

Approaching the dragon with an eerie level of stealth, the silence was broken as the kitten decided to speak up. ”I’m ready Lady Sorcha.” The girl’s tone was serious, as she was mentally trying to toughen herself up for whatever lied ahead.

“Right,” Sorcha glanced at Maoins sword. “First things first then. I think it should be obvious you are not exactly all that strong. Your body’s not exactly built for that sort of thing, little one. In a fight you’ll have to rely on speed, agility, and quick thinking to be able to fight foes stronger than you. I have a question for you, little one. How acrobatic are you, exactly? While you are not strong, your natural dexterity and agility would be quite fearsome at taking out opponents with a single hit to their vitals as long as you are careful and attentive.”

Sorcha was hoping the kitten had at least some acrobatic ability. She was a cat after all, and should have a good bit of natural dexterity, agility, and flexibility. The kitten didn’t think herself strong, but that was just false on all accounts. As long as she played to her strengths and never tried to simply overpower an opponent, she’d win quite easily.

The kitten nodded as the dragoness looked her over. Maoin had already reached most of those conclusions herself. She’d never be a bull, or a dragon, or a beast of incredible strength. It was a little disappointing, but she had to deal with what she was dealt. ”Before I was turned into a familiar I already had practice jumping around wherever I needed to, and those instincts remain. I was capable of dodging you several times, Lady Sorcha. Although I haven’t received any formal training either.” Truthfully with a small bit of training the cat would find doing backflips and similar easy, and she could already climb all but the most difficult to scale buildings.

”Let me make myself very clear, little one. Had I even been slightly serious in that encounter, you wouldn’t have even had a moment to think about fighting back.” The implications of that statement should have been quite obvious, and truthful. Sorcha hadn’t even been using a fraction of her abilities during that scuffle. It was more of a playful little scrap, if anything. “One part of being a good fighter, is knowing when best to flee or not engage an enemy directly. There is no shame in fleeing or running to fight another day, as long as there will be no great consequences for you doing so. Retreat and avoiding is always a viable option.”

Sorcha grabbed her glaive, pulling it from the ground and running her hand along the edge of the blade and down the haft. For now she would give her the very basic instruction any good warrior should be aware of.

“Another thing – you should always be wary of your opponent’s weapon and yours. Be wary of the reach of theirs and the weaknesses and use it to your advantage. For example, this glaive excels in quick, heavy strikes of both thrusting and slashing attacks.” To demonstrate, Sorcha fluidly swing the glaive in a horizontal fashion before transitioning into a forward thrust. “However, it leaves one quite open if the opponent is able to get close after a missed strike. It has fairly long reach, but also makes it difficult to use in close quarters where maneuverability is lacking such as hallways or indoor areas.” Perhaps a bit more information than needed, but Maoin should be aware of it regardless.

“Some may think a small weapon like a dagger or short swords are lacking in power, but they fail to see the versatility of such a weapon. With a small weapon like them, it is easier to parry even a larger weapon and leave your opponent open for a likely life-ending strike if they are lightly armored or you could cripple their sword arm, for example. If used creatively with your natural shall we say, ‘cat like reflexes and flexibility’ you could easily even slay a dragon once you are skilled enough and have had practice.”

The kitten nodded as the dragon spoke, and despite her serious and relatively deadpan demeanor couldn’t help but wince slightly as the dragon decided to give off a horrible pun and deliver a shit-eating-grin. Although Maoin understood that getting close was possible after a missed strike, it was still a little concerning since she had seen knights use polearms as quaterstaffs or simply as a lever to toss people at that range.

Although she supposed training was meant to deal with that. Although the kitten did have one question about this entire scenario. ”Wouldn’t it be better to just throw the dagger at them, lady Sorcha? Since they can’t really block with a polearm?” The kitten seemed to be more curious than anything else, and was expecting some sort of retort.

“Oho, clever little kitten are we?” Sorcha mused. “Indeed, if you had the natural dexterity and marksmanship to throw a dagger at someone it could very well work. However, then you would be out of a weapon would you not? And if you are against a heavily armored foe such tactics would not work so well, would they? If you try such things then you need to make sure you have your main weapon as well as knives specially meant for such tactics. Making them small and sharp would greatly help in wounding or hindering a lightly armored or unarmored foe. Anymore questions?”

The kitten listened to the dragoness speak … wearing everything she currently owned, the black haired girl hesitated only a minute before shaking her head. The woman had a point, and the cat hadn’t really ever fought an opponent she would describe as heavily armored.

Well, she had. But the suits had put her to sleep since she was too busy being concerned with being hit by her mistress. For a few seconds, the black haired girl’s eyes drifted off before the girl shook her head to clear it and then nodded to indicate she was ready to begin.

“Alright, then let us begin.” Sorcha hefted her glaive. She wasn’t going to go easy on the kitten. She wasn’t going to hurt her, of course, but she wasn’t going to let her of easily either. “Let us see how well you can dodge an opponent that is at least somewhat serious, little one. If you manage to avoid five strikes without one so much as grazing you, I’ll consider you having passed for now and we’ll move onto the next part. To make things simple, I won’t be using my wings or anything other than my natural strength. Ready then?”

That was the only warning the kitten would have before the dragon commenced the training. The dragon closed whatever distance might have been between them within a blink of an eye, thrusting the glaive forward towards the kitten, following it up by turning her body slightly and making a quick horizontal slash to the left just in case the kitten decided dodging to the side would help. For the most part, the dragon wouldn’t press the kitten hard. That training would come after the kitten had a good grasp of her abilities.

The kitten was glad she was short, because rather than try to dodge to the sides the cat chose instead to dodge downwards in a limbo-like fashion, tail going between her legs in an effort to help her maintain balance. She hadn’t been exactly prepared for the situation, but she’d do her best to prove herself to the dragoness. ”Mrew!”

By ducking, the kitten had easily managed to avoid both blows. If she had been quicker she could have easily landed a blow on the dragon, but she made no attempt too. With dexterous hands, the dragon spun the Glaive around, and slammed the butt of the weapon right into Maoin’s stomach. It wouldn’t be enough to permanently injure the poor kitten, but she’d feel it and there would most definitely be a bruise. The dragon sighed, took a few steps back to let the kitten recover for a few seconds.

“Again. Watch my movements. You have keen eyes, you should be able to read a foes moves fairly easily.” The training continued much as the same before. Surprisingly, the kitten was skilled. More so than Sorcha thought to begin with. She was far from perfect, but she was by far better than any common man or servant. Her reflexes were good, and she did manage to for the most part avoid the easier blows, though she definitely had trouble with any sustained attack. Eventually however, the kitten succeeded – right when Sorcha had almost decided to call if off for a bit. She had gotten progressively better, and the dragon had progressively gotten more aggressive. That was the only way one could learn, after all.

The dragon spun, spinning like a top as the Glaive hit air. The kitten rolled backwards as Sorcha’s attack transitioned into an overhead slam. Maoin managed to avoid it by moving to the side, if only barely.

”Hm…not as bad as I thought.” Sorcha said. “Congratulations, you’re not completely hopeless, little one.” The dragon chuckled, giving the kitten a small smile. “Have a small break. We’re continuing soon.”

Maoin instinctively rubbed the various bruises that ran across her body from that short training session, lifting up the flask of water and taking a few sips of it. The dragon’s attacks were probably held back to avoid actually killing her, but they still hurt. A quick look down her dress revealed a growing black spot on her stomach where the first strike had landed. Sitting down, the girl decided to take advantage of the break and wipe off the growing pool of sweat from her forehead.

The next day would be horrible. Eventually though the girl’s breathing returned to being normal, at which point she stood up and nodded towards the dragon to show she was ready for whatever else she would be doing.

Sometime in the afternoon, the kitten found herself gasping for air as she lay face down on the ground near the lake. Her dress was soaked with sweat to the point she considered taking it off, her muscles felt about as sturdy as a twig with a brick dropped on it, and she swore every bone in her body was on the verge of breaking - no, shattering - into some three hundred pieces.

The black haired girl’s eyes looked up towards the dragon with some combination of respect and hatred as she looked around for a second and lowered her head back down to the ground, wondering if the beast was satisfied.

Sixty Push Ups, each of which was done to the slow pace of Sorcha’s “up, down” commands.
A four mile run, done twice because the first time just wasn’t fast enough apparently.
The woman handed her a stick with sacks of flour attached to each end, and was instructed to do squats with it over her back.
Maoin complained at this point about needing water, at which point Sorcha sent her swimming laps around the seemingly freezing lake several times to ensure she was well hydrated. She had hesitated at the water’s edge before being shoved in some ten feet by the dragon’s powerful arms.
Climbing a three-story tavern some twenty times to improve her dexterity. The walls were flat and had no handholds.
Instruction in dodging thrown objects of various methods through the one tried and true method of practice.
Then doing the same in turn, while sprinting to simulate an actual combat environment. Sorcha was very capable of blocking thrown objects with a glaive.
The worst and final one was trying to remove the armor from to dragon while she was wearing it, without being seen. Failure was met with a solid thwack of the glaive.

The bruises and aches and pain ran across her body, and the training had ultimately destroyed her hold-the-emotions in idea, the kitten letting out some tears as she still tried to catch her breath. The girl wasn’t sure she would be able to get up if the dragon wanted her to.

Well, if there was one thing Sorcha was sure of now, was that the kitten was definitely serious about this. Sorcha smiled, chuckling softly to herself as the kitten lay on the ground, obviously exhausted. The dragon walked over after making sure her armor was back in place, taking a seat next to her, running a hand gently through her hair, running her hands over her ears.

“You did well, little one.” She smiled down at the kitten, helping her sit up and letting her lean on her if needed. “I apologize for putting you through that, but I had to make sure you were serious and knew exactly what sort of thing you would be getting into. Rest, for a bit, and then we can get to that pampering you promised me~”

She was honestly greatly looking forward to that bit. Being pampered by a loyal subject was something any decent dragon would enjoy.

The kitten laid on the ground for a few more minutes, too exhausted to lean into or even pull away from the pets the dragon was giving her. Like a sack of potatoes, the girl simply leaned against her teacher and focused on breathing slowly.

Truthfully, the cat wasn’t in the mood to pamper anyone. It was part of the reason she’d been tossed out, and wasn’t worth anything, was it? But if the dragon wanted her to … the girl eventually responded as she gasped out for air. ”... I … don’t … have … anything … to …” Tears streaked down her face a snot dripped down her nose, not from sadness but rather from the gradual degradation of a person as they exercised themselves too much.

“Shh, little one.” Sorcha replied in a soft voice. “Deep breaths, in and out. I’m not taking no for an answer. I was promised pampering and if I need to I’ll buy the materials myself, but for now, rest for a little while longer little one. There are things we need to talk about after a hearty meal. Nothing better after a hard day of training.”

The kitten nodded against Sorcha with what seemed like the remainder of her strength, breathing in and out deeply and closing her eyes as she just tried to focus on relaxing and recuperating her strength … the black haired girl fell into the dreamless sleep of an exhausted person, unable to keep herself awake any longer. There were no nightmares like the previous night, as her mind was too tired to waste energy on panicking about another person.

“Maoin…little one?” Sorcha spoke in a soft voice before sighing, standing and lifting the kitten with ease. “I didn’t tell you that you could fall asleep did I, little one?” She walked back over to the edge of the lake…and dumped the cat into the water at the edge of it. It was shallow and she shouldn’t have any problem getting out, though Sorcha was ready to pull her out if she didn’t.

The cat woke up as her body hit the water, screaming something incomprehensible as fear filled her veins and she arrived on the shore, coughing up a bit of the water that she had accidently swallowed as she lowered herself down to her hands and knees and tried to collect herself.

Maoin simply gave the dragon a look akin to betrayal, but managed to keep herself quiet to prevent a fate like a few days ago from occurring as her eyes drifted towards the grass submissively. At least she wasn’t overheating anymore.

“Little one, I never said your training was over. Even if you are exhausted you should never allow yourself to let your guard down if you are somewhere unfamiliar. Granted, exhaustion could easily make you an easier target but sometimes sleep would be more deadly than any blade.” She knelt next to Maoin, helping her too her feet and steadying the kitten if she was having trouble standing. “Now, You promised me pampering, and I would very much like that. You said you have nothing to do it with? You are a top class servant, and even if you have nothing I am certain you could come up with something simple enough to please a dragon in this situation.” She released the kitten, walking over to the water’s edge and stood. “Now, get to it little one. The afternoon is drawing to a close and you should get as much rest as you can before tomorrow so it is best to finish sooner rather than later.”

The kitten’s legs shook as she was lifted to her feet, but eventually she managed to focus enough that the majority of problems were quelled. Looking at the legend before her, Maoin tried to figure out what she was going to do here. Being called a top-class servant filled her with a little pride in spite of herself, and she wasn’t going to allow inadequate care. ”Please sit and relax Lady Sorcha …”

The dragoness would hear the tearing of cloth from Maoin’s direction as she ripped a piece off the already damaged dress. Washing the strip off, the girl returned and used some water to start scrubbing down her teacher, kneeling as she worked. Once Sorcha was well bathed, the kitten started massaging the woman’s back as she waited for the hair to dry.

The kitten was obviously a little nervous about something as she worked, as her movements seemed to lack some of the confidence they had previously.

As the kitten started to work, Sorcha took a seat next to the water's edge.

“Hmm…you’ll have to get you another dress more suited for traveling, won’t you?” The dragon said with a contented sigh. Ooh, she hadn’t had a good massage in a long while. It felt absolutely divine – the kitten definitely knew what she was doing.

“Try and get my wings too, little one. They are a bit sore and rarely get the proper care these days…do be careful though, they are rather sensitive in places ever since I lost my scales.” She could tell the kitten had something on her mind, though. It was easy to tell from the way she moved and seemed rather hesitant in the way she worked.

“If you wish to talk, little one, we have all the time in the world right now.”

”I-I just don’t have my equipment, Lady Sorcha!” The response was fast and a mere half truth. Was the dragoness really so perceptive to be able tell something was bothering her that easily!?

The cat continued working for a minute, moving her hands down to Sorcha’s lower back as her arms screamed out in exhaustion. In spite of herself, her animalistic features showed some signs of happiness.

Finally, the girl gave off a more truthful statement. ”I-I’m just wondering if this is worth anything. I mean, I might be a top class servant … but that doesn’t protect anyone, does it? It won’t keep her safe or with me and …” The girl stopped herself from talking more as she suffered a mild identity crisis.

This training wasn’t her. But it had made her stronger and more useful than any pampering powers someone could have.

“Little one, I am certain Gwynn appreciates you more than she let on.” Sorcha replied. “No skill in this world is invaluable. Being able to take care of people when they can’t take care of themselves is always going to be a needed skill, even if you don’t realize it and if she doesn’t realize that then she is a fool.” Sorcha leaned back slightly into the massage. Oh dear norns that felt lovely. She should have Luna give her a massage sometimes. Or massage Luna. She could do it. There was nothing that could possibly go wrong with either of those things!

“But something tells me she does, little one. Now, the wings.”

The kitten listened to the dragon as she worked, gaining back some of the confidence that had gone missing. She just hoped the woman was alright … and the Radiant Queen of the Heavens seemed to be enjoying herself. Before the girl could start doubting herself again though, she was ordered to work on the wings.

It was a bit of an odd experience to say the least, but the cat felt like she was getting the hang of it as she worked the muscles gently towards the base and gradually went outwards. Soon that was done, and the girl started to run her fingers through Lady Sorcha’s hair as she worked it into fine braids. The kitten’s fingers worked with great precision despite shaking slightly from the exertion from earlier.

Soon enough she was done. That was all she could do without a proper kit. ”I-I’m sorry. I don’t have anything else I can do though, Lady Sorcha.”

“Ooh, this will be enough for now little one. I greatly needed that, thank you.” The dragon said with a soft smile, reaching out and petting the kitten on the head. “Now, I’m sure after that you must be starving. What say I treat you to something and maybe we can take a visit to the bathhouse afterwards hmm? I still have something I want to discuss with you.” The dragon stood, picking up her glaive from where it had been resting on the ground.

The kitten hesitated for a moment, not wanting to rely too much on this woman for aid. But a rumbling stomach encouraged her to take up the other ladies’ offer, the black hair shifting as the girl nodded. Whether she decided to go to with Sorcha or sit at Lady Sorcha’s table, she’d be begging for food either way. ”T-thank you, Lady Sorcha.” A quick look downwards showed her completely destroyed and dirtied dress, and the formal servant blushed as she looked at it. This was going to be embarrassing if they even went somewhere halfway decent, but this was the only piece of clothing she had.

“Ah, don’t worry about the dress…I have something you can wear for the night!” The dragon said with a small smile.“Though I still don’t really get you mortals’ silly obsession with clothing. Now, come along. We should hurry before she gets back from class, heh~” The dragon gave a mischievous smirk as she walked over to the kitten. “Now, keep your arms and legs inside the confines of the flying dragon at all times, and try not to have a heart attack!~”

Before the kitten could even say anything, Sorcha grabbed the kitten, lifting her off the ground before soaring into the air and heading off towards Luna’s dorm. The kitten let out an upset meow, but she gripped tightly as she watched the ground pass beneath them rapidly. Aside from the terror of suddenly being grabbed, it was a surprisingly relaxing experience as the girl watched the ground pass, amazed.

The dragon barreled through the window, which she had always made a point to keep open when she was out and about. Who needs silly human doors anyways? She slowed enough to land with a quiet thud inside the room, careful not to make sure she didn’t accidentally run into Luna. After taking a quick look around and making sure that Luna was not present she walked over to the wardrobe.

“Aha, she’s not here, great.” The dragon grinned in a mischievous manner as she looked through the few dresses Luna had. “See anything you like, little one? Don’t be shy or anything, you can erm, borrow, anyone you want!”

The kitten looked around for a moment, eyes widening at the expensive clothing. She relaxed eventually though as a simple dress came out, only a few times more ornate than the one she was wearing. The black dress went just past her knees. Finding the most private spot in the room, she was still well within the eyesight of the other woman.

The girl’s eyes drifted down towards the dress, than up towards Sorcha. Then back to the dress. ”Lady Sorcha could you … turn around … please?” There wasn’t anywhere else to change, and flushed cheeks made her embarrassment plain to her teacher.

“Whaaa?” The dragon seemed completely shocked at the idea of even thinking of looking away. “Perish the thought! You’ll be training without any clothes on next time so you might as well get used to it!~” The dragon smirked in an impish fashion. “In fact, lemme help!~” Before the kitten could do anything, the dragon moved swiftly over to the kitten, pressing her body against the kittens, either not realizing she was doing it or not caring as she started trying to ‘help’ disrobe the kitten from her tattered dress.

The cat simply stood there, seeming completely stunned at that suggestion, and then letting out a small ”L-So-Eeep!” As the other woman began to help her out of her clothes. Her face was completely red though as she now stood in front of the other woman, completely naked as she tried to cover herself as her eyes darted over to the clothes she had picked out. ”Lady Sorcha could you please …” This dragon was aggressive at least.

“Nonsense!” Sorcha impishly grinned, as she grabbed the dress Maoin had chosen. “Lemme help!~ ” The dragon proceeded to help the kitten into the dress in any manner possible.

After a brief struggle, the kitten surrendered as the dress and other clothing was placed onto her, the girl still trying to collect herself briefly afterwards. Looking up into the dragon’s eyes, it was rather obvious the predatory creature was enjoying the discomfort this was causing her. The kitten decided she wanted to get out of this room as quickly as possible before anything else could happen, eyes looking towards the floor as she poked her fingers together nervously. ”So … dinner?”

After a few seconds though, Maoin’s face would lower into a frown as she remembered the time her owner did this entire exchange to her … it was embarassing at the time, but looking back it was a fond memory. A memory of an interaction with a person she missed so much …

“I know a great place. You’re a bit overdressed for it I think, but you’ll be the prettiest flower in the room I think. Come on then!~” Before Maoin could even think about saying no, Sorcha once again grabbed the kitten and dove out of the window once again. This time, Sorcha took a bit of time flying to their destination. She very rarely had a partner while flying, after all, and it was a refreshing change of pace.

She climbed in altitude, soaring over the campus high enough to see the entire school and city beside it.

“So, Maoin, how do you like flying, hm?” Sorcha asked, as she held onto the kitten. “You’re lucky you know, very few people get to see the world from up here.” Before Moain could properly respond, the dragon twirled and dove a few feet before leveling.

To say the dragon was in a bit of a high spirits, was an understatement. It had been quite a long time since she was able to train with someone in quite this way, and admittedly it was quite the refreshing experience.

The kitten placed her feet on the ground as she was eventually released, dusting off Luna’s dress just slightly. Her legs still wobbled from the workout earlier, and they screamed at her as she tried to force them to move again after that short break. The cat led out a slight pout as she eventually responded to the dragoness. ”It’s a nice view, Lady Sorcha. I’m used to being picked up anyways, and I’m not terrified of heights … although could you consider a less dramatic finish to your rides?” If the legend had intended to frighten the girl, it would become apparent the attempt was ineffective as the girl calmly stretched and a slight grin crossed her face as she remembered the thrill ride.

“Oh? Haha, most people get a little frightened.” Sorcha said with a grin. “But I’ll keep that in mind next time!~” Translation: The kitten was going to regret those words. “Anyways, come on.” The dragon started walking down the street towards the less…well off area of the city, leading the kitten towards a noisy sounding tavern. One could hear the loud carousing going on within the walls all the way out on the street.

Sorcha walked into the tavern, making certain the kitten as following her. As soon as she entered she’d find the place reeked of both alcohol, and was loud with the lively and idle chatter of a number of patrons. The décor was obviously inspired by northern Germanic peoples. Sitting near the entrance was a group of men playing cards, a heavily built dark skinned human immediately noticed Sorcha and grinned.

“If it isn’t the oh so mighty dragon of Beowulf.” He chuckled in a lively fashion, throwing down a handful of cards – and judging from the reaction of everyone on the table he had just won the hand and the pile of money on the table.

“Hei, Kirwen.” The dragon gave him a bright grin.

“Haha, back again for another round? ”

“Ha, you still think you can outdrink a dragon, hm?” She grinned; tail swishing in a lively fashion. “Keep it up one of these days and I might actually be impressed by your stubbornness.” She chuckled, grabbing the man’s hand, giving it a firm shake. “Alas, not today I am afraid. I have…a bit of business with a friend.” She motioned to Maoin. “I’ll take the usual. Tell the cook extra alcohol as well, I just got done whipping this kitten into shape, nothing better to unwind then a nice strong drink.”

“That so?” The man, Kirwen grinned at Maoin. “Little lady, you’re lucky being trained by this dragon in particular, heh. Your usual table’s ready-”

“Hm…that will not be necessary. Somewhere in the back, a bit more quiet would be welcome. I have important business to discuss with the kitten.”

“Hm? Alright then, what’ll it be svart kattunge? I’ll make the chef know to make it extra hearty for you. Training with this thunder head can’t be easy, heh.”

“Tsk, that lip of yours I’m surprised you managed to live to half your age. One of these days I might forget I don’t eat humans any more, heh~”

“Well, if you’re the one doing the eatin’ I don’t think I’ll mind too much.”

“Tsk, unfortunately for you I already have my eye on someone else. Any eating will be of the not so fun sort~”
“Break a mans heart again,” He chuckled before focusing back on maoin. “Right then, sorry. Gotta give ol’ thunderbutt,” Sorcha clicked her tongue in a derisive, though she seemed more amused than anything. “a bit of trouble. What’ll it be then?”

The kitten was rather surprised by the atmosphere, but simply watched silently as the dragoness and the man seemed to toss back and forth a friendly and probably well-repeated banter between them. Maoin winced slightly at the ‘thunderbutt’ comments, eyes drifting over to Lady Sorcha and half expecting her to jump on the man and throw him into the lake.

Apparently that was just for cats though, as eventually the black haired girl lowered her hears to adjust to the loud noises and gave off a weak smile. ”Something with fish in it, please.” The girl really wasn’t sure about the atmosphere here, and expected for the ale to taste about as bad as it smelled.

“Alright, fish it is! There should be a table near the back a bit of a ways off from all the rest of ‘em, you’ve seen it. Where any important business I take care of gets done. It’s yours for the night.”

“Thank you, Kirwen. Come on then, Maoin.” Walking into the lively room, Sorcha passed a number people, giving a small hello to a number of them. It seemed like she was at least somewhat well known around here, and judging from the look of a number of them they all seemed to at least have some northern Germanic ancestry in them. It didn’t take long for the dragon to find the seat Kirwen mentioned, and Sorcha took a seat, motioning for the kitten to sit next to her.

“Tsk, Maoin, don’t much such a pouty face. Try and relax a little. After a day of training like this it’s good to let yourself relax, or you’ll be nothing but stiff and stressed tomorrow.”

The kitten nodded, taking a brief look around and trying to relax a little. It’s just … this is the exact sort of place that Lady Gwynn would have enjoyed going to. Maoin really wished she had taken here more … maybe she would have stuck around a bit longer if she had, and she would have been loved back, and …

The cat shook her head, chasing the thoughts piercing her mind away. Deep breaths. It wasn’t Lady Sorcha’s job to deal with her emotions, and the girl tried to force herself to appear a bit more into the location. Eventually the noise stopped hurting her ears quite as much, and they began to perk up a bit more due to their nature as they caught various conversations going on around the room. ”Sorry Lady Sorcha …”

The girl wasn’t sure how to continue this conversation, but eventually a reply formed. ”You … seem to be well known here?” It would be apparent the girl was just trying to make conversation though.

“Hehe, I suppose you can say I am a bit of a celebrity in more ways than one.” The dragon chuckled. “Let’s just say a lot of them hold me in high regard and I may or may not have won an eating contest and got free alcohol for life here, hehe~” She shook her head with a mischievous chuckle. “For a human, Kirwen can eat and drink on par with some gods I’ve met, but never mind that.”

The cat nodded as the dragon told her story, a little bit of admiration filling her eyes. Maoin still wasn’t sure why the scaled beast gave her the time of day, much less spend nearly all of it trying to make her into a slightly more powerful cat. On top of being awesome … she also seemed to be a good person, and easy to talk to.

How was she supposed to even compare? The neko thought for a moment that it was entirely possible that every human lifetime the dragon picked someone up off the streets to see what they were like. The black haired girl’s eyes drifted away from the dragon after a few seconds. ”Knowing you, you probably drink the entire house’s stock, don’t you? They probably regret that contest, Lady Sorcha.”

Sorcha blinked at the suggestion, a bit surprised the kitten even said that before laughing.
“Haha, I think they more than enjoy my company, little one.” She said with a grin. “Not every day they get to dine with a dragon, and I don’t drink all the time. Besides, Kirwen is a nice fellow and knows where proper respect is due and also that a little fun isn’t a bad thing.” There seemed to be a bit more to that statement then Sorcha seemed to say, but whatever it was she didn’t elaborate.

The kitten nodded, a slight grin infectiously running across her mouth as the dragon’s excitement seemed to fill her just a bit … but then her expression dropped as she spent more and more time thinking about a response of her own. What was she going to say? “Oh, my mistress abandoned me and now I’m living off charity. Impressive, eh?” Eventually her tail stopped moving and her ears dropped flat against her head as she simply found herself staring at the table, feeling a little empty inside.

Before the kitten could think much on it though, Kirwen made a convenient timing with bringing out the food, placing it on the table in front of them in a variety of plates, trays, and delicious smelling food. A variety of pork, sheep, steak, and a few vegetables were sat on the table along with a few mugs of strong smelling alcohol. Obviously, these were meant for the dragon. The fish meant for the kitten though, was nothing short of impressive. It was easily at least two feet long, cooked to absolute perfection and smelled delicious, with a side of some salad and a few other vegetables on the side.

“Ahaha, the chef said he’d wanted to cook that fish for a while! Fished it up out of the lake over there, the biggest one he’s caught in ages. Shoulda heard the tale of the fight he said it put up when he caught it. The man’s a irredeemable liar but he can certainly spin a good story.” Kirwen laughed heartily.

“Thank you, Kirwen. I’ll let you know when we’re done.”

“Anytime, thunderbutt.” The dragon promptly threw a small piece of fish at Kirwen, who merely laughed and walked off with a friendly wave.

“Now, you’ve had fish before I am sure, but you’ve never had fish like this I can guarantee it.” Sorcha promptly picked up a large piece of steak and practically inhaled it in quite the unrefined manner, mouth unable to fully fit the entire thing causing her cheeks to bulge in a rather comical fashion.

The kitten listened as the two sung their praises about her meal, the fish that was nearly half as tall as her sitting on the plate. It smelled nice, sure. And this was certainly a treat from the dragoness … ”Thank you, Lady Sorcha.” Maoin lowered her head respectfully towards the teacher before taking her first bite of the meat, her sharp little fangs piercing into the cut.

The cat’s ears perked up a bit as she took a bite, thoughts clearing from her mind. God, she was hungry after that workout. The girl’s world became consumed by eating as she mannerly destroyed the creation in front of her, somehow not spilling any of it as she worked on devouring it. The strong flavors filled her senses, a pleasant distraction to what was there previously. Sorcha would see her tail wind up slightly as it landed on the table, as if eager to do it’s own little dance.

“Delicious isn’t it? May not be all fancy like you’re used to, but there’s nothing better than a good hearty meal straight from the northern lands.” The dragon reached for a mug of ale, chugging it in an almost comical fashion before slamming it on the table.

The kitten nodded slightly as she watched the dragon with slightly wide eyes. Truthfully, she shouldn’t be surprised considering her teacher’s bragging about being able to consume enough food and drink to keep the population of Paris well fed … but watching her down that foul smelling drink in only a few seconds was impressive. How did anyone even tolerate ale at all? The cat finished up the last few bites of her meal, then stretched as she felt the pangs of exhaustion anyone felt after a nice, big meal. Although after a few seconds, the girl lowered her hands into her lap and looked up towards the dragon nervously, fidgeting slightly. It was rather obvious she had a question to ask.

“If you have a question, little one, do not feel nervous about asking.” The dragon said, taking sheep leg and biting into it.

The kitten waited a few seconds before gathering the courage to ask. She didn’t want to pester the dragon, but the longer she stayed in here the more and more she was reminded of Lady Gwynn and the more and more the memories hurt. ”... did the headmistress tell you anything … about Lady Gwynn?” The cat didn’t question that the conversation happened because Lady Sorcha said it would. Surely Livia mentioned something important to such a powerful beast.

Sorcha chewed on a piece of mutton, thinking over her answer.

“Little one, may I pose thee a question?” She asked. “After I give you these, albeit very short and good lessons…what will you use your skills and any possible information I have for?”

The cat looked up towards the dragoness, wondering where this was coming from. For a few seconds, she kicked ground slightly as her tail dropped to the floor beneath her. Was it possible she wouldn’t be given this information? What did the dragon want to hear? It’d be pointless to lie, wouldn’t it be? It became rather apparent that the cat was starting to become nervous as her eyes watered slightly, and a couple seconds later she averted them to the table in an attempt to hide them. ”I … I don’t know. I intend on finishing my training with you though … I’m done with being weak …” Well that answered the first part of the question … but the second … ? ”If I can find her … I’d go after her. So long as it wouldn’t be fruitless, Lady Sorcha. I’m emotional, not stupid.”

The cat fidgeted a few seconds before finally looking back up into the dragon’s fierce, red eyes. The girl murmured something in a very low voice as she tried to hold back her tears. She started to fail. ”... I’m sorry. It’s not your job to put up with a stray’s emotions. I just feel lost and scared and frightened …” The girl silenced herself before she said anything else. The dragon had probably lost all respect for her. It was rater obvious by her failed attempt to start looking tough again as she straightened her back and wiped her face off with a napkin.

“Everyone your age does at times, little one.” Sorcha replied. “Let me ask another question. Why do you want to go after her? You’ve spent your entire life being dependent on her and while that certainly isn’t a bad thing, perhaps you should learn to walk on your own.”

The kitten looked down at her feet, wondering what she should say here. Maoin’s body fidgeted a few times as it seemed like she thought of something to say, stopped, and then eventually came up with an answer she was satisfied with. ”... she’s always run away from her emotions, and she’s going to get hurt eventually. I know I need to be able to walk on my own … but I’m hers. I won’t do anything so drastic if something like this happens again but … if I’m going to be abandoned, I at least want her to tell me to my face. I can’t picture myself with anyone else and it feels like a part of my soul is missing, but if she told me she didn’t want me at all anymore …”

The kitten sniffed a few times before lifting the napkin to her face again. ”... I’d live with it. And I’d learn. I’d miss her … I already do. I’m not sure if I could ever trust myself with another master … but no matter how this goes I intend on getting stronger. I can survive either way.”

Ah, this was such a familiar situation Sorcha could hardly stop from laughing. The dragon merely grinned, wrapping an arm around Maoin with smile.

“Well then, Little one - I have some good news, some bad news, some possibly worse news and a drink with your name on it.” She shoved a mug of strong smelling ale into the kittens hands as she released her, grabbing another mug. “I was able to get something out of Livia, at least. Not much, mind you, but something. Livia has given her both a ship and a crew, and has asked Gwynn to look into something for her. Something about Atlantis, she wouldn’t give me any details.” The dragon put the mug back on the table, reaching for a fish of her own and practically inhaling it.

“The bad news, is that she hinted that it could likely be extremely dangerous. Worse news, she said it was also quite difficult to get to her without aid of a magical artifact of sorts. That means if you want to find her, you’ll likely going to have a difficult time without it. She refused to tell me exactly what it was, however so I am clueless as to that.”

The cat nodded. Atlantis? How was she supposed to get there - by swimming? She looked at the mug of ale, frowning slightly as her eyes glanced over it. ”... what do you think I should do, Lady Sorcha?” It was obvious Maoin wanted to go after her owner, but with only a messy and ruined dress, a set of underwear, and a sword currently to her name magical artifacts weren’t exactly in her budget.

“Whatever you want, little one. Of course, if you go after her you’re going to need help.” The dragon said. “And I happen to be…free, since Luna is going to be helping a friend with something all next week, so I should be able to do just that.”

The kitten looked up towards Sorcha as she made the offer. With Lady Sorcha’s help surely anything would be possible! A bright smile crossed the girl’s face. ”Thank you Lady Sorcha!” The black haired girl ran around the table, giving the dragoness a big hug before returning to her side. The ale was completely untouched, but the girl’s animalistic features suggested that she was really happy.

They lowered a few seconds later out of embarrassment though. ”But … but I don’t have any adventuring equipment … like cloaks or anything …”

“Tsk, I’m an old dragon with more than a few relics lying about.” The dragon commented. “Now, finish eating and you can go home. We still have a bit of training to go over tomorrow, so you need your rest.”

The meal was already finished, but the girl’s eyes drifted over the drink the dragoness had purchased her. Taking a deep breath, the girl drank the entire foul substance in a few loud gulps before setting it down with a face scrunched up in disgust. How did Lady Sorcha even drink something so unrefined? It didn’t take long before it began to hit her system though, the cat looking towards the dragoness with a silly grin but not saying anything at the moment.

Eventually, Maoin rose back up out of her chair and wrapped her arms around Sorcha, giggling softly as she found something incredibly funny. ”Lady Sorcha … you so pretty.” It was rather clear that some combination of the drinks and the day’s exhaustion had sent the girl into a bit of a delirium.

“Well someone’s a lightweight.” Sorcha chuckled, wrapping a wing playfully around the kitten. “But you can’t have any more and we’re going home.”

Maoin pouted, beating two fists slightly against Lady Sorcha’s arm playfully. ”But Lady Sorcha! Can’t we play a little?” The kitten started rubbing her head against the dragoness’ arm in as cute of a manner as was possible, then looked up into her eyes intensely. ”And something tastier? I can take more, but I like sweet things!”

Well, it had been awhile since Sorcha had someone being quite this attention giving. Not that she went around asking for it, but it stroked a certain ego that any dragon had.

“Nope, we’re going home.” Sorcha stood from her seat, giving the kitten a pat on the head and grabbing her wrist, pulling her out of the tavern.

The kitty pouted as she was dragged out, looking far too dejected for the circumstances. But eventually the dragoness managed to get Maoin back into the safe hands of Katherine, where the girl promptly fell asleep.

Swen & Eith

Friday Night

The magierprinz returned to his … her room, opening the door with a quick twist of the key before entering and looking around. It seemed she was able to make it back today before the puppy had, and truthfully any plans of enjoying the weekend before the adventure were ruined.

Placing the clothes down on the nearby dresser, Selvina looked towards Eith laying on the bed. Apparently she had gotten home first. Truthfully, Swen just wanted a little bit of time alone. But … this was just going to be a bad day, wasn’t it? ”... hi …”

Really, there was a shred of hope the same sort of shenanigans in the library wouldn’t happen again.

Eith sat straight up. It had been a little bit since she got back and she got tired of sitting there watching the door. She was almost ready to twist herself up in her keeper’s blankets. ”Welcome back. . .” She watched the girl, studying the changes. The most notable change was the back end. Still, Meal-Ticket would probably get mad if it was brought straight up. ”Clothes?”

The one named Selvina nodded, before looking at the bed with a quizzical look. Didn’t the hellhound usually prefer to stay on the floor, curled up into a small corner? What was the girl doing on the bed. ”Yes, I had to make some purchases. This form is different, although these robes don’t feel too bad. Anyways, why are you laying on my bed?”

”Just waiting. I was curious if you would change looks again by time you got back.” Well, the rest of that didn’t need to leave Eith’s mouth to get the point across. Still, Eith was over her tactful moments. ”At least it should feel softer if you fall to your rear.”

Selvina blushed as the puppy simply started making commentary about the new body. Sighing, she walked over to the new pile of clothes and looked through them a bit before pulling out a small nightgown that had been purchased along with a new pair of black and rather frilly underwear. Taking off the robe, the girl spoke while looking away. ”I guess that’s true. Still though, you seem to be paying a lot more attention to me like this? Got a crush or something, puppy?”

If Swen was going to go through the puppy’s comments, he would at least make fun of the beast a little.

”Crush? I don’t understand. I pay more attention because this interesting.” Eith said as she looked over still. ”Still, I do find the female body more interesting than the male one. It’s more squishy and comfortable.” Eith said as she brought her hands up to bring attention to her own endowments. ”Wouldn’t you agree on that?”

Selvina changed clothes quickly, dropping the old underwear to the ground before sliding the new ones up and after a brief struggle with the top managing to get it on. Honestly, it was a little cute. The thin nightgown was on afterwards, and the girl returned to the bed after taking another cursory look at the mirror, sitting down on it’s edge. ”That is something I would have to agree with, I suppose.” It probably wouldn’t be worth mentioning that it didn’t mean the girl suddenly had permission to pinch and grab the new body.

Eith still hadn’t let the bed. Raising an eyebrow, the magierprinz looked the puppy over. ”... so … erm … you gonna hop out?” It wasn’t exactly an elegant way of handling the girl, but Swen couldn’t get it together enough to consider being polite.

Eith just looked Meal-Ticket in the eyes and looked like she had an epiphany. ”Oh. You’re right. This is why you’re a student.” Eith hopped up off the bed and made her way around, towards her corner. . . But took another right towards where Meal-Ticket was sitting near the edge of the bed and got a closer look at her chest. ”I have been curious. This seems to be a point of charm on humans, but that woman made your bottom bigger.” Unsure what to call them exactly, she just poked at the bumps on Meal-Ticket’s chest.

The magierprinz winced as his breasts were poked again. Apparently while being male, the puppy hadn’t been too interested. But overall, the magierprinz was simply done with her shenanigans. Standing up, Selvina raised an eyebrow at the puppy. ”Did I say you could touch me?” If Eith didn’t catch the irritation in her keeper’s voice, she had no insight into other people’s emotions.

”. . . .” Eith wasn’t sure what that meant exactly. Irritation was in her voice. Actually, it was a bit cute from a dissonance of the old voice she had in her head and what she heard now. It was a bit humorous. . . But still irritated. Why would Meal-Ticket sound so irritated she was getting touched? . . . . ! ”Oh, I think I get it. Were you wanting to compare? Or touch me? I guess it’s only fair. I don’t mind.” She just tilted her head at her companion in wonder.

The magierprinz blinked once or twice. Was she genuinely this unaware of her actions? Selvina looked the girl straight in the eye. ”No. That’s not what I’m saying.” Failing to keep her voice in check, the girl’s look turned a little hostile as she looked at the ignorant creature. ”Since it’s quite apparent you have had zero interest in learning how to fit into our society, let me make this clear to you. You don’t touch people without their permission. You don’t hop in someone’s bed unless you are close friends, their familiar, or their spouse. You call people by their name. I have a name: Sw-” The newly made girl paused for a moment before gathering herself together. ”My name is Selvina, at least while I’m in this … body, Eith.”

Sighing with irritation, the girl calmed down a bit. Her voice softened a little. ”Look, I’m sorry, but this has been running through my head for a while. I’m having a really bad day - yes, for the reason you are thinking. I’m done putting up with your shit, Eith. I’m tired of being called ‘Meal-Ticket’, and have only been calling you puppy in retaliation. You’re not even my familiar and you are just stressing me out.” The girl’s eyes watered slightly as she finished.

Eith was. . . Taken aback, to say the least. So many things to process her head started to turn bright red. The tips of her hair started to catch flame before they extinguished themselves seconds later, smoking slightly from the charred fringes. ”Ahh. . . Uhhh. . .” Her face was more than warm to the touch and her eyes looked as if they were staring a hole straight ahead. She took a step back and lightly vented flames through her nose.

Soon, the flames stopped as well as Eith in general. For a few seconds she stayed still until she brought a hand to her temple. ”Ouch.” She said, looking to Meal-Ticket again after having cooled down and removing her hand. A look of shame and embarrassment covered her face. ”I. . . See.” Eith wasn’t sure where to start. . . But she had answers for most of the issues that Meal-Ticket stated.

”I do have zero interest of fitting in. That is, human convention is confusing. Demon, Shellagh and Human societies vary so differently, nor did I think I would stay here long anyhow.” Eith told her human partner. ”Not long enough to matter, at the least.” Her speech patterns seemed to turn a bit more monotone as she keeps talking.

”I’m aware of names. I have one as well, that aside, I find it difficult to remember them when they have nothing to do with the being.” Eith pointed to Swen then to herself. ”To me, you are my meal-ticket. Therefore, Meal-Ticket. That girl with you when we first met. She wielded a sword, therefore, Sword-girl. Shellagh names are that simple.” Of course, Eith forgot to mention her species’ own tongue. . . But details.

”And then. . . And. . . then. . .” Eith froze up in her speech. What else was she going to say? She forgot. ”What else was there . . .” She asked herself looking at the ground as if it had answers.

Selvina did her best to maintain a blank expression as she provided the next prompt. ”Touching and beds.”

”Touching. . . And beds. . .” Eith mouthed after Selvinia, as she now called herself. ”Touching is an essential part to kinship. Oft times the whole pack would sleep together side by side. There’s nowhere especially private in such times, nor anything to avoid touching.” And beds. . . Well, to be fair, Eith did understand the private use of beds. . . That said, ”It’s more comfortable to sit on the bed than the floor, if I’m to stand in the end anyhow. You were not sleeping yet, as it were. So I considered it a fair enough act.”

The magierprinz raised an eyebrow at that. Collecting her arguments for a few seconds, the noble delivered a response. ”Well, we have privacy now and a much larger room than wherever you were. And if you aren’t willing to at least call me something I like, then we aren’t kin. I’m not sure what gave you the idea I was, if all I did was make a silly deal with you and promise to give you cash for nothing in return. You’re not exactly cheap, you know.”

At that point, it was as if a cover was taken off Eith’s eyes, the red in her face faded a bit to her darkened skin and she seemed to come to. ”I. . . What. . . Happened?” She blinked a couple of times as she started to realize that something happened. . . But. . . What? She looked to Selvinia for an answer.

The magierprinz looked at the hellhound, raising an eyebrow. Selvina raised an eyebrow. ”... did you just forget our entire conversation?” If that was the truth, the puppy was going to have to accept a summary of it or get kicked out. The noble was on their final straw.

”I’m. . . Sorry. It’s a curse. Not, literally. Just. . . Alpha’s thought process is stronger than a normal pack-mate. But there are limits. I think that was a . . . Protection. I don’t know what I said, but it was true.” Eith informed her meal-ticket. A little afraid of what she said. It wasn’t likely something to worry about. Curse of the Alpha some call it. It’s just a magical protection from burning out, I’ve been told.”

Selvina simply delivered herself a facepalm. Then she took out a sheet of paper from the nightstand and a small ink-containing magical quill. ”Can you read?”

”Demonic.” Eith replied, looking at the piece of paper and the quill. ”What for?”

The magierprinz sighed and tried to maintain a steady voice. ”Nevermind.” Selvina then forced her voice to be stern, and some irritation seeped in as well. ”I’ll summarize our conversation. Call me by my name, which currently is Selvina. Don’t touch me unless you are given permission. My bed is my own, unless I invite you in. Understood? Do you need to write these things down?” The quill and paper were placed onto the bed as Swen waited for a response.

”What good is there to write down something that may just burn away soon or later.” There was no ire, just a fact stated. Then she moved on, ignoring parts of what the girl said. ”Regardless, there is no way I will remember Sell-vin-e-a.” If this were a summery, then likely she would have spoke of the issue in her trance, no?

The magierprinz nodded. ”You said as much earlier. If you didn’t call me meal ticket, what else would you call me?” The man/woman was genuinely curious about what the girl would say.

This was a trick question wasn’t it? The first thing that came to mind was probably the worst thing she could say in this situation, but her mouth worked faster than her brain could stop it. ”Soft-Butt-Girl.” It came out as the honest truth. That was definitely the biggest defining factor at the moment. ”O-of course, I could just call you something in our language. Akin to my name. . .”

Selvina just looked at the puppy and burst out laughing after a second. It seemed the poor thing was truly incapable of any real rational thought in the long term ... It took a bit, but eventually the girl recovered. ”No. No more suggestions. Call me ‘Keeper’ since it is more accurate than meal-ticket anyways. I do more than just feed you, you live under my roof. Understood?”

That. . . That made sense. But “Keeper” was such a dominant word. ”Caras” Eith said, as she looked Selvinia in the eye as if haggling for a flank steak or something of the sort. Confidence shone in her eyes as she looked on.

The nobleman raised an eyebrow. Caras? What … ”Eith, tell me what that means?” The girl seemed slightly suspicious, and likely for good reason …

Eith looked around. Unsure if the person would approve of it. . . But hoped since it wasn’t bad really. . . Really. . . ”It’s a word in my tongue, of course. . . It means [i]Caretaker[/] and a word similar to the one you want.” Of course, Eith didn’t tell the human her reason was to pick a word less dominant sounding.

The noblewoman thought about it for a moment. ”I wouldn’t mind being called ‘caretaker’ in either tongue.” For probably the first time in a while, the girl wiped her eyes off and gave Eith an honest, non-derogatory smile.

Still though, a thought popped into Selvina’s head. ”On another note, what’s your end plan? Do you intend on becoming someone’s familiar eventually, is there anyone you’d serve or care about? Leaving for your own adventures? Surely you can’t just intend to have me take care of you forever, even if I do feed you a lot.”

”Have I not mentioned my goal? Mayhap it missed the mark.” To be fair, it was a topic she avoided typically. ”I intend to re-organize my pack, eventually. I wouldn’t need your assistance then. Mayhap, I could help in return. That’s for fate to tell.” Eith was too proud to have someone call her a servant after all. An ally, maybe, but not a servant. ”My pack was destroyed. Effectively. So I want to restart and have vengeance. Simple.”

Selvina nodded, looking towards the puppy. ”Well, I wish you the best of luck in that endeavour. Personally, you were difficult enough to deal with on your own in that tavern, so rounding up a bunch of angry hellhounds isn’t on the menu any time soon.”

”Yes. I was rather holding back then. It’s how you caught me in that trap as you did.” Eith looked around for a second. Caras didn’t seem to appreciate when she was touched, so even if she meant not a word of it. . . ”Listen. . . I’ll apologize for touching you, but I was merely trying to understand your situation. I feel us both having had issues with Myrilla was enough reason for us to be closer. But I understand if you don’t desire it.”

Selvina raised an eyebrow as Eith said that. ”No - no, don’t misunderstand me. I don’t mind that making us closer … just … don’t grab me like that, alright? I doubt you’re interested in me in that manner, and I only intend only having sexual relations with my familiar or my spouse.”

”Wha. . .” Eith was mildly confused. Just a few questions really, but. . . ”Grab you like what? What do you mean you only intend having sexual relations with your familiar or spouse? Well, that is, what does this have to do with that?” She just came right out to say it. She didn’t get the relationship between the two.

The magierprinz facepalmed, hard. ”Eith. Up here grabbing the breasts or butt is considered a sexual move. It’s not sex, but it’s something that … turns one on. Doing it to people who you aren’t involved with is considered impolite. Don’t do it, alright?”

That was odd. Humans were odd. ”So, did that mean it “turned one on” when I did it earlier?” She had to ask. One thing lead to another when it came to a curious being. ”Should I have you do it to me, Caras, so I can figure it out? Or, would that being impolite?” She had to ask herself more that Caras.

The girl laughed. ”That … that would be considered impolite. I’m going to bed now … goodnight.” If Eith didn’t have anything else to say, Selvina would yawn and lay down in the bed and pull the sheets over herself.

Eith looked down at Caras and then to her own body. She was curious what made the act so “Sexual” as her caretaker put it. She tested the waters with her own body. . . It was. . . Rather, what was this? It didn’t really feel like anything. . . Yet, it was also . . . ”How odd. . .”

The magierprinz simply rolled their eyes. ”Just be quiet about it. I’m trying to sleep.”

Eith decided in the end, that it would be best to just go to bed. ”I’m a quiet sleeper thank you.”

Luna and Sorcha

Luna sat at home after returning quickly from picking something light up a store. She didn’t really need much herself. Today was probably a good day to eat lightly since Sorcha decided to not show up. It was just some simple bread and honey. Something sweet but simple. The Knightess just sat there, relaxing and lightly snacking on bread and honey until her familiar returned. Not that she had much else to do right now. . . Not like the Teacher Doll gave her homework or anything.

For once, the dragon decided to use the front door instead of the window. After staying out that late with Maoin, Kirwen, and generally training she was in a rather upbeat mood. It had been quite some time since she had whipped anyone into shape quite like that, and it was a refreshing experience. Also, she was just slightly drunk but that was nothing to worry about at all. She was a dragon, she could handle a few drinks, heh.

“Luuuna, are you home yet?” The dragon asked, walking into the room, noticing the knight snacking on what looked like some sort of honey and bread. Not exactly a hearty meal, but certainly sweet. The dragon closed the door behind her, walking over to the bed and flopping down on it with a yawn as she started to remove her armor. She looked in Luna’s direction, giving her a friendly smile.

“Oooh, that looks delicious. Mind sharing? Or would you rather help me out of this armor?” She teased.

Luna looked over her shoulder at Sorcha entering. Someone finally got home, did she? ”Oh yes, I’m home and I’m sure you’ve had your fair share of delicious things today.” Luna said without answering the question and plopping a piece of honeyed bread into her mouth, chewing. ”Where were you all day?” Making sure not to let loose a slight bit of concern and really even mild interest.

“Hmm? Oh you know, the usual.” The dragon replied as she tossed off her boots. “Waaah, my feet hurt…Should have asked Maoin for a foot massage…hm, maybe tomorrow.” She idly said to herself before continuing. “Went to the lake, had a nice soak…played with a rather adorable kitten and took her to dinner, heh.” The dragon replied, not even slightly picking up on Luna’s disinterest. Instead, she turned her head to the bread and honey again as she managed to pull off her bracers and started working on the chest piece.

“Anything particularly fun happen in those silly classes of yours?”

”Oh, I only had the one today. It was a bit long, but ended rather abruptly when the doll teaching it ran out like a berserk warrior.” Luna said while she was still honeying up another piece of bread and then plopped it in her mouth again, chewing before speaking again. ”I came back after helping someone find a tailor, hoping you’d be ready for lunch or dinner but you were nowhere to be found. I waited for an hour or two, but you never returned. So I just went and got something light.” Her disinterest in her own story likely should have resonated to the dragon this time. Surely.

“Uhm?” Was Luna…upset because she had made plans without telling her? Or was it the waiting part? She honestly couldn’t tell. “Sorry?” She unfastening the straps on the chest piece pulling the last bit of the armor off with ease. She stretched, giving Luna quite the show in her usual fashion and glad to finally be out of it. “We can go for a fancy dinner or something after you get back from wherever you’re going Sunday.”

The dragon seemed completely oblivious of any wrongdoing on her part.

”Sorry, are you? What are you sorry for? I didn’t accuse you of anything did I?” Luna mentioned, finishing up the last of her honey bread, obviously miffed and not even looking at Sorcha’s “show”. Luna honestly didn’t understand why she felt like this. Jealousy? Worry? It didn’t feel like either of those to her. Still, she kept the unreasonable attitude up. ”Even if you did do something wrong, dinner wouldn’t be the point.”

“Erm, Luna, my little Knight, is something the matter?” Sorcha questioned, sitting on the edge of the bed. This attitude seemed vaguely familiar, but she couldn’t quite place it. “If you have something you wish to discuss I am all ears…as slightly tipsy as those ears might be, hehe.” She chuckled.

Luna looked back to Sorcha with slight irritation on her face. ”What’s there to discuss with a drunk dragon?” She asked her familiar. She wouldn’t mind it normally, but it just irked her at the moment. ”If I did have something to discuss, you probably wouldn’t remember anyhow.”

Okay, something was definitely wrong here. The dragon frowned, giving Luna a slightly questioning expression. For the life of her, she couldn’t think of anything she might have done to warrant this sort of behavior. They had not made plans before, so she hadn’t forgotten to meet her.

“Luna, please if-” She stopped herself mid-sentence, as she realized what was going on here. Now, she may have been drunk, but she was also a drunk dragon. If there was one thing dragons could recognize, it was jealousy. Sorcha held a hand over her mouth, trying to stop herself from bursting out into laughter. She raised an eyebrow, poorly hiding her snickering. “Somebody’s jeeealous~”

Luna looked forward. Jealous? That didn’t feel right. No. Not especially. Close, perhaps. ”No, it’s because you didn’t let me know you would be gone.” Well, Luna figured it out at least. She did feel like she wasted a few hours she could have spent doing something else. ”I might have even tried to surprise you with something, but I wasted my time sitting around here waiting for you.”

“Pfft, come on Luna, lying isn’t fun! You’re totally jealous! I’m a dragon. I know jealousy when I see it! You’re completely jealous that I spent all day with someone else and not you!” The dragon laughed brightly. That said, if she was jealous, this was a totally unexpected development. And well, the dragon would be completely negligent not to have a bit of fun with this, heh. With a small smirk, the dragon stood from where she was sitting and walked over to Luna in a fairly suggestive manner, sitting on the table next to her.

“But, you are my little Knight after all…and it would be extremely negligent~”

”If it were jealousy, I would have felt jealous hearing that you were with Maoin but I. . . I. . .” Luna paused, remembering her encounter with Gwynn earlier in the day. She forgot whatever disappointment she had and thought on Maoin and Gwynn. ”You said Maoin right? Do you know what happened to Gwynn, her master?”

“Gwynn?” Sorcha hummed. “You don’t know? She left. Headed out on some errand for Livia without a word to anyone, left Maoin behind and everything. The poor little one is absolutely devastated. I’ve been trying to keep her from doing anything drastic, buuut…” The dragon smirked. “That’s irrelevant, my jealous little knight.” The dragon leaned over, getting off the table and…sitting right in Luna’s lap.

“Still feeling jealous?” She wrapped an arm around Luna’s shoulder.

”Sorcha. Get off. Now’s not a good time to joke around.” Luna gently dropped Sorcha off her lap and she stood, walking to the window and opened it, letting a bit of fresh air in. ”Maybe you just need to sober up a little bit. When you calm down a little we’ll talk.” Luna wasn’t especially entertained, either by Sorcha’s actions or Gwynn leaving.

“Tsk, and here I was trying to lighten the mood.” Sorcha sighed as she was shoved off of Luna. “You were so comfortable too~” She chuckled, before shaking her head. “I’m fine, Luna. It’ll take a lot more ale then…erm, three mugs to make me of unsound judgment.” She didn’t seem too entirely certain on how many drinks she had. “I apologize if my behavior has offended, but I did not mean anything by not telling you.”

”I’m just mad you didn’t read the mood. You never really met Gwynn and Maoin. Well, I didn’t think you’ve met Maoin.” Luna said looking out the window. ”This morning I saw Gwynn as she left. I didn’t think too much other than it was odd. I’m just a little mad at myself for not saying more to her I guess.”

“Haha, well, I am a fairly silly dragon sometimes.” Sorcha chuckled, walking over to the window next to Luna. The dragon yawned, resting her head on Luna’s shoulder. “You shouldn’t beat yourself up over it, Luna. I doubt there is anything you could have done. If Gwynn is anything like I think she is from Maoin’s description…well, we were quite a bit alike when I was younger, hehe. This would have happened eventually I think…or if not, Gwynn or Maoin, maybe even both, would have just continued to be unhappy.” Sorcha wrapped a wing around Luna, nuzzling her head a bit with her own.

“I suppose I should tell you I am traveling with Maoin while you will be away Sunday. She wishes to find Gwynn, and It would be completely irresponsible for me to even think about letting that kitten go by herself.”

”. . . . Alright. Hehe. Thanks for telling me this time. I’ll know not to plan dinner for you that day.” Luna joked, still a bit somber, but more receptive. She seemed much happier than earlier. ”I’ll leave that matter in your hands and wings then.” She lightly tapped her head against Sorcha’s.

“Well, if you’ll excuse me this slightly drunk silly dragon is a bit exhausted and has to get up early tomorrow, so I think I’m going to go ahead and sleep for the evening.” She plopped down on the bed, yawning again before proceeding to take up over half of the space on it, rolling herself up rather comically in the covers.

Luna stood at the window while Sorcha went to bed. After about a minute, she looked over at the dragon. ”Thank you.”

Maoin & Kathrine

Sunday Morning

Waking up sometime before dawn, the kitten found herself rubbing the sleep out of her eyes as she looked around briefly. Wh - Kathrine’s House. The girl’s body still felt sore from the previous day as she stretched, with every muscle in her body yelling at her to stop in the form of pain. She did her best to ignore the pain and make herself seem comfortable, but it seemed like every step for this day and probably the next was doomed to cause discomfort.

It would probably be a good thing to tell the woman that she intended on leaving for some time. Standing up, she looked at one of the dolls going around the studio apartment and asked them to make the woman some coffee.

”I prefer tea actually. Not so harsh on the throat, but, I couldn’t expect you to know that after a day.” Katherine’s voice called out from the corner of the room with all her sewing supplies and such. In fact, she was already sipping on a cup of tea. ”Well, it’s good to see you up and well. You were quite warm last night while we slept.” She couldn’t help but giggle at that.

The cat jumped slightly as she realized that Miss Lindall was already awake! Well, that was embarrassing. Instead, Maoin got herself a glass of water and sat down across from the teacher as she looked around for a second or two. No point in beating around the bushes ... ”I’m going after Lady Gwynn with Lady Sorcha, Miss Lindall. Thanks for letting me stay here, but this is something I need to do.”

”Hmmm, go after that idiot?” Katherine asked before sipping her tea. Hardly caring to mince words if the girl was going to say something all out like that. ”Well, do what you want. I was just told to watch over you while you’re here anyhow.” The teacher stood up and handed her cup and saucer to a couple of her dolls. She stepped over to a cabinet where she pulled out a nice navy blue dress. Sort of plain and simply but slightly frilly. ”Well, this is yours either way. I’ve no need to keep this on me.” She handed the dress over to Maoin gently, not wanting to ruffle the dress she and her dolls spent some time putting together.

The kitten blinked as she looked at the dress she was handed. The second thing that she actually owned. It was a bit odd to receive such a gift, but having this would allow the girl to return the dress that she had borrowed without asking from Lady Lightsword. Looking up at Kathrine, a guilty look crossed her face. Had … had the woman intended on keeping her, or was this just friendly? ”T-thanks Miss Lindall. For everything. Do you mind if I go put it on right now?” The girl’s ears perked up slightly and her tail moved just a bit as she observed the garment, before looking back up at the woman.

Katherine smiled slightly before looking only fakely annoyed, ”If you insist. Go ahead.” She couldn’t hide her excitement really. She just watch, less caring about looking at the cat and more making sure it fit in all the right places. ”And I tried adding in a hole for your tail since it’s a bit longer. Not that I was quite sure about how your body is set.” The Teacher sounded skeptical, but seemed to accept she did well on it.

The cat nodded, heading over into the teacher’s bathroom and changing with surprising haste. Coming out a few seconds later and looking at a small mirror, the girl looked at the garment. Cute, adorable, and surprisingly well fitted. Her tail danced around outside the tail hole for a moment as the girl did some final adjustments, moving some frills to just the right place. Eventually she headed over towards Kathrine with a small smile. ”... thanks … how do I look? It seems to fit well”

Katherine looked the cat-girl up and down, skeptically studying how the dress fit. There were a few parts that could have been perfect, but it looks fine otherwise. ”It’s imperfect, but, you manage to pull it off I say.” Katherine giggled at her next thought, ”Natural charm, some might call it?” The Teacher looked over it one last time before resigning herself to it’s, albeit messy, completion. ”Sadly, this shouldn’t work all too well if you’re going on a journey, now will it?”

The girl shook her head in response. ”Not if I intend on sleeping out in the woods often, but I’ll be sure to take good care of it!” Maoin let off a slight grin before seeming to hesitate for a moment.

Kathrine would find herself being hugged by the girl tightly. ”I know you didn’t have to do this. You are a good person.” After a few seconds of embracing, the cat let go of the older woman. ”Is … is there anyway I could repay you? I know this isn’t a trade and I don’t have a lot to offer but …” It obviously made the girl a little uncomfortable to be in the debt of this woman.

Katherine felt slightly uncomfortable to have the girl call her a good person. The hug was nice and soft, but the words. ”I’m not sure if there is a way you can repay. Besides, I’m not a good person.” Katherine lightly smacked the cat on the head, nothing painful of course, as she corrected the cat. ”You should remember that for your own self.”

Well, Katherine really did just want to make something to take care of her charge. It ended up being something she wanted to do for the creature, mostly for this feeling of being appreciated. Something she sorely lacked from Fia when she rescued that girl. . . Oh. but that was that and this is this. ”I did it for myself.” Katherine unconvincingly said if her interest early were any indication.

The kitten nodded, before waiting for a second. It would probably be polite to ask the teacher about her living arrangements in case anything went wrong. ”If I don’t have anywhere to stay after this, do you mind if I come back here? I don’t mean to impose on you, but this is much more comfortable than some alleyway …”

”Well, as far as I know, I was ordered to take care of you while you’re here. . .” Katherine scratched her head as she thought on it for a second, ”So, if you come back without that idiot I suppose this room should house you as well. Supposing you don’t. . .” The Teacher shrugged. Well, it wasn’t her problem then. Was it? ”Well, it wouldn’t matter much then I suppose.”

The cat raised an eyebrow at the teacher. Was she depressed, or simply unable to show emotion? Either way, the cat let out a little yawn. ”Well … I’ve got to go! If anyone asks for my whereabouts, could you please tell them where I’m going Miss Lindall?” After a quick wave towards the teacher and collecting her things, the kitten would have head out the door, except. . .

”Hold on.” Katherine called out as a doll stood in the doorway. ”I’m curious what kind of journey you’re going on. I hardly get to leave the academy after all. Take that doll with you.” The Teacher nodded at the cat, encouraging her to take it with her.

The kitten looked at the doll for a second, tilting her head at it. Such a strange thing, but it would be rude to not accept such a gift, right? It was possible that the woman was using it to spy on her … but Maoin figured it wouldn’t be too much of a problem, right? Nodding, the cat picked the doll up into her arms, and spoke as she gave Kathrine a final wave. ”Thanks again … I’ve got to get going! I’m sure she’ll tell you everything when she gets back.”

And then she began her journey.

”Heh. You won’t have to tell me dear. I’ll be there with you.”

~Day of Departure, Swen Selvinia, Lyssa, Eith~

The next few days passed swiftly.

Swen, or rather 'Selvinia' would have found a number of things if he she read the book gotten after her encounter with Myrilla. One, the creature was resistant to magic. Two, it had the ability to manipulate fire to an extent. Three, legend states that 'It is a mad spirit that ate the fruit of Yomi'. It was said that the spirit, was once a servant of a deity known as Inari but was cast out and hunted, only to be sealed in a high mountain range far from the land. A group of exorcists and faithful of Inari built a temple, to make sure the beast was never freed again.

It was early morning, early enough for Lyssa to be up and about. Lord Kostis had already prepared to make most of their trip fairly easy - a teleportation service to a small village some distance away from the mountains. They'd have to walk the rest of the way since it was in such a remote place, but it should only take a few days to make it there and back. He also had sent them another letter, telling them it might be a good idea to bring some warm clothes with them.

Of course, Lyssa didn't bother to bring any extra layers. She'd just snuggle people for warmth~

"Hey hey! Sweeeeeen!~" Lyssa began pounding on Swen's door energetically, likely easily waking up anyone in the vicinity. "Hey hey, come ooon! We're going places aren't we?"

~Sorcha~

The next day of training, was a bit more technical in nature than the previous day. Since the kitten had brought up throwing knives, the dragon had some specially made for such a task at a blacksmith on a rush order. Fairly well made, a number of them, and if the kitten took good care of them, they could be used quite well with a bit of creativity and skill. With some more acrobatics practice, a bit of practice deflecting blows with her sword instead of trying to block the full brunt of whatever force she was blocking, Sorcha had to say she was about as good as she was going to get in the short few days she had been training.

Sorcha woke early, leaving a note for Luna since she would for once, get up much earlier than she. She told the knight that she'd likely already be quite a bit away from the academy and to have fun on her little trip, and a small note saying that she should be careful and if she needed help not to hesitate to summon her if she absolutely needed it.

Now, the dragon was waiting next to the lake, sharpening the edge of her Glaive and polishing it as she waited for the kitten to show. She was feeling well enough to fly the kitten swiftly some distance away towards the ocean to the west, but there was till a major problem they had to take care of. How exactly they were going to reach Gwynn. Livia only gave them her destination, not her route. She also had a few days head start on them, meaning she could very well already be a good ways there.

The magierprinz had prepared appropriately for the journey - managing the courage to leave the room once since he ... she had been informed to bring some warm clothes. Leaning towards the side of practical, the noble brought along several fur coats both from before and after the ... transformation.

This curse really needed to be solved. And so did the awkward conversation with the overly enthusiastic demon outside the door.

There wasn't a rush. Stretching and getting out of bed, the magierprinz dressed, washed their face, and eventually got around to opening the door for Lyssa. Before being tackled, the noble raised a hand between them and spoke sternly in an authoritive manner ... and admittedly, with a degree of frustration that would likely make the hellion pause in her tracks. "Yes, it is me. I'm now Selvina apparently, thanks to your mother. No tackles please. Now let's go."

Looking towards the puppy, he beckoned her to follow and come along. She wasn't getting food otherwise. The purple long dress the bookish mage was wearing was several inches above the ground and surprisingly warm as a result of that, and a coat laid over her right shoulder casually as she waited.

The office door of Livia would receive a slight knocking even at this hour as Aetheria was waiting outside, obviously a little nervous about something despite her best attempts to appear normal.

The results were in. And she had ran them several times, and despite their insanity they always turned out the same.

The white mage simply wasn't sure if the headmistress would like to hear the results or not. Would it be better to start with the smallest or the biggest news ... ?

The black haired kitten approached the lake after dealing with Kathrine, doll in hands and muscles still screaming at her in pain from the previous two day's of training. Still though, she approached Lady Sorcha with a slight yawn and a surprising degree of unintentional stealth as she approached. The dragoness would hear a small but likely startling voice as it pierced the silence. "Lady Sorcha, I'm here."

All the girl had was her new blue dress, a few throwing knives, and the sword her owner had gifted her along with a small sack that contained the worn out dress from the previous day along with various other goodies that had been given to her by the nice dragon. Raising the animated doll in her arms, the black haired girl looked at it. "Kathrine gave me this, and the dress?"

It seemed as if the girl was a little suspicious, although more so of the doll.

The phoenix had become studious over the last few days, and Miren would be getting used to her presence at the library. The headmistress had been fairly lax about paperwork ever since mentioning the building, and the red haired girl had gotten up early most days and arrived before it even opened, waiting outside as she wanted to get in and find a comfortable spot before anyone else could arrive.

Despite the past few weeks, she still didn't like crowds. Fia was able to walk through them of course, but her preference was to be alone in most things, and Livia remained an exception to that rule.

Lunalel Lightsword

Luna had woken up early, but not nearly as early as her dragon. This was the day that both left on their respective journeys. She put her clothes on, and set her armor in it's place. "Ok. Now I just need to. . ." The note Sorcha left caught her eye. "Oh my, a letter is it?" Luna took and read the letter. Not too surprised really. It was nice of Sorcha to give her a letter. The dragon was a part of her life now for good or bad. Well, Luna didn't really mind. "I kind of wish she'd have woken me up, but I'll take a letter." She remarked with a bit of humor as she pocketed the letter. She got the last of her supplies together and left to meet.

Eith the Shellagh Alpha

Eith was nice and asleep, falling to slumber with thoughts of meat prepared in the east since she would be going there as a watchdog over the one who paid for food. She had a happy dream of raining meat. . . Until she was woken from the mass of knocking at the door. She growled from being awoken in such a manner. How irritating. Caras took a while to get to the door. . . Or at least it felt that way. Eith could really tell. She just laid in her bed trying to wring out the last few minutes she could. Then Caras made a motion for her to follow him. Either for leaving to whereever they are or for food, not something she could complain about either way.

Doll 75

The doll just kind of looked around, enjoying the trip in the cat's arms. The the cat stopped and there was a dragon in front of the two. Well, a girl that resembled a dragon. The doll's mistress knew it was a dragon, not that she's met it in person or anything really. It seemed like a nice thing, so it decided to wave to the dragon as if saying, "Hi, my mistress wanted me to join you on this journey. I should be helpful." That is, if one understood what a doll was thinking.

~Livia~

"The door is always open...usually, you know." Livia replied from her desk as Aetheria knocked on her door. It was a small truth at least. Unless something important came up she liked to try and keep her door open at all times. "I was wondering what was taking you so long, Aetheria." She said as the mage entered the room. "I was starting to think I would make more progress on my own." Not an entire lie either. Aetheria was good, of course, no doubt about that but she wasn't one to sit around and wait for something to happen if she could make it happen. "So, what did you find, hm?"

~Miren~

Mirens home, was actually inside the library. A small second story apartment one could get to through a side door in the building on the outside or after walking up a set of stairs behind the main counter near the restricted section or from the second floor of the main library. Livia insisted the room be there, as it would allow her access to the library on a moments notice. Not that she minded, she liked books, and generally liked being in the library.

The Chimera yawned, stretching her arms as she walked to her desk. That redhead girl, Fia was there again today. Not that she minded, it was kind of adorable really, but she was extremely curious as to what the girl was even studying. Something about phoenixes and legends regarding that? The headmistress had given her permission to give her anything she wanted, even books from the restricted section if she had wanted it. Well, she could at least try making small talk.

"Erm, hello..." The rabbit cautiously approached the redhead, bunny ears perking up curiously. "Fia, was it?" The first day of talking didn't exactly go so well. The bird was surprisingly shy...

~Sorcha~

"Oho, someone's been practicing? Or are you better at this whole thing than you let on?" The dragon chuckled, though her grin faded the moment she laid eyes on the doll. Katherine? For the love of Odin's grand beard...the dragon snatched it from the kitten's hands, frowning at it. It'd be easy enough just to crush it into many tiny little pieces, and probably would work out better for them in the end since Katherine might as well have been as close to a right hand henchman as Livia had.

"Katherine, sent...this...abomination with you, huh?" She mostly said that because she was fairly certain Katherine would be listening and she just wanted to be a little petty. She tossed it on the ground carelessly. "Well, whatever. As long as it doesn't get in the way...alright. You mentioned you didn't exactly have much so I took the liberty of gathering a few things." Sorcha said, walking over to the lakeshore, a medium sized pack filled with supplies was laying next to the shore. "A few camping supplies, and since winter is coming a cloak for you, as well. We'll be heading west to the ocean, and if we're lucky we can travel there quickly enough. Don't worry about carrying it either, I can carry a hundred of those without any problems, and still have room for an adorable kitten, heh~"

Turning to Maoin, the dragon gave her a look over. "Are you ready, then? It will be a fairly long journey, I imagine...and we'll need to figure out how exactly to get to Atlantis."

~Lyssa~

"Eh...? EEEEEH?! S-swen? H-how did Swen get even more adorable?!" Lyssa was obviously surprised by the turn of events, though her tone seemed torn between amused and concern. Her mother had a hand in this? But, Swen was just as adorable as a guy, wasn't he? And...why would her mother do such a thing? She wasn't supposed to even be here, was she? Not unless...she was...shirking her work again and doing the exact opposite of what she was supposed to be doing and...

"Oh my gosh, I am sooo sorry." Lyssa said, and at least seemed somewhat apologetic about the turn of events as she followed after Swen. "I...I should talk to her." It was true, her mother did have a habit of meddling in things and as much as Lyssa loved her at times she needed a good bit of sense just smacked into her. Usually her dad did that, but if she was here on earth instead of hell, meddling...

"Uhm uhm, you're not hurt anywhere are you? I mean, you're still adorable and cute and I can still give you hugs! I don't care if you're a girl if you want them!" She was, at least trying to cheer Swen up bug hugs were likely decidedly not what she needed right now.

Selvina looked over towards the overly cheerful hellion with an irritated look, frustration filling her veins. It was tempting to scream at her and blame her for the entire circumstance, but it seemed that she was truly apologetic and there was a good chance that she had nothing to do with the entire exchange.

"Maybe we could embrace later but we have places to attend ... if you could afford a conversation with your mother I would be very grateful." She tried to sound confident and even a little hopeful, but ultimately Selvina's words came off as frustrated and annoyed.

After a quick check to make sure the puppy was still following, the lady continued to lead the way until they arrived at the arranged meeting place where Luna would soon be arriving.

Selvina wasn't sure how to handle the upcoming awkwardness with her, so instead she decided not to and to let her realize on her own as she appeared in the distance.

The teacher moved forwards, sitting down on the chair across from the headmistress and taking a deep breath.

A stack of papers landed on the desk with a small thud as Aetheria began to pick through them and eventually found the one she was looking for. Pulling it out, she took a brief look over the page as if once again to confirm that what she was about to say wasn't utterly insane.

"... ummm ... after some deep soul analysis ..." The former peasant had to force herself to calm down, get to the point, and speak with confidence. "For starters, I think we can find out who your familiar was originally. Her original form was one of your ancestors."

The tears would have made it more certain, but there was a reason why Livia likely hadn't been able to figure out the next part on her own.

The kitten sighed in relief as the dragon offered to carry the supplies. While Maoin would have offered to do so and her instincts as a servant told her to make the offer, the cat ultimately decided to allow the stronger woman to do the heavy lifting.

After all, dragonkind was not exactly as weak as small kittens. Or apparently nearly as adorable. "... an adora- Thanks Sorcha ..." The girl looked away with a brief blush, but soon the nightseeing eyes returned to the teacher. "I was actually wondering if it would be possible to intercept them at Gibraltar? The straight is very narrow, although we'd be hard pressed to catch up with a boat that has two day's head start ..." They'd have already taken teleportation if that was an option.

A second or two passed as the girl looked towards the ground, then back up at the dragoness as she awaited a response. "... have you been to Atlantis ...?"

The red haired girl watched the librarian's keeper approach a little nervously, wondering if by arriving so early that she could be annoying the poor little bunny. As the other woman began to speak though, the phoenix looked towards the ground as she nodded in response.

Livia had told her to ask the librarian any questions she had, and reading the books had brought up several of them. Aside from the complex and academic language, the research materials on her seemed to be vague, incomplete, partially destroyed, or even contradictory.

And having absolutely no academic background, the girl in truth had no idea how to take notes to organize her knowledge into small, understandable parts and then connect them via relationships.

Ultimately a single word left the girl's lips as she looked up at the librarian with pleading eyes. "... help ...?"

Lunalel Lightsword and Eith

Luna finally got her supplies together. She didn't bring any extra clothes. She didn't really need them really. Not compared to other supplies such as some food and a small whetstone. She brought a few other miscellaneous things as well such as some rope and soap. Just some useful things really. She just needed to get there now. . . It took a little bit. But. . . Well, it was the right place but something was off. Lyssa and Eith were there, however, Swen was missing and Selvinia was in his place. "Selvinia? What are you doing here? Where is Swen? Is he not suppose to be?"

Eith just looked at Luna, confused. "Hmm? But, Caras is Caras. It's the same person just. . . A girl with an oversized rear rather than a dopey man. It was. . . Definitely uncouth, but it mattered little to Eith as it were the truth.

Luna seemed as though she had a life revelation. If what the beast said was true, Swen was. . . Selvinia? She had her own doubts but. . . Magic seemed to be a powerful force and she wasn't sure what exactly was possible and what was not. "Selvinia. . . No, Swen?" Luna questioned, unsure still. "So, back then. . . I helped Swen choose. . ." Undergarments is what she was about to say, but she couldn't find the words to escape her mouth as she stared into the ground. As she found more words she brought her gaze back to Swen or Selvinia or whatever the name was. "I suppose you have your own troubles, do you not?"

There was little else that could be said. "If I can help with that, let me know. Otherwise for now, shall we be underway?" Eith looked as if nothing really happened and just stared at the exchanged.

Doll 75

The doll waved its arms around as Sorcha grabbed it, afraid the dragon would do something bad to it. On the bright side, she didn't and it just stuck itself away somewhere.

~Livia~

Whatever news she had been expecting, that was not it. The headmistress for once, actually looked surprised.

Then she laughed, motioning for Cynthia to pour tea.

"Oh my," She said, quieting her laughter. "Such an...absurd suggestion. She is one of my ancestors?" Livia leaned back in her chair, not seeming upset. If anything, she seemed highly amused. "Such cruel irony, isn't it? I wonder...does that mean perhaps history is repeating, or was she simply foolish and weak?" She mused aloud. "Either way, that is nice to know...though, I am not sure what use it is to me. Ones ancestry means little in the grand scheme of things, so this information isn't particularly useful to me. Only useless trivia."

~Miren~

"Help?" She wanted help? Well, that was something Miren could do with expert ability! At least, she hoped. As long as it came to finding books and organizing information. "What exactly do you need help with?" The librarian scooted a bit closer to Fia. "The headmistress said you were looking for things regarding the 'Phoenix'? I made sure all books were returned and in their place..." She continued. "...uhm, do you need help finding a specific book or reference?"

She wasn't exactly sure with what she could help with here, to be honest. People that came here rarely had need of her skills that much. Most people here could easily do such things themselves. She was mostly here to make sure the library itself was nice, tidy, and organized.

~Sorcha~

"I...apologize, little one." Sorcha replied with a shake of her head. "In my current condition, I do not believe we would make it to the straight to be able to intercept them. If it was a few hundred years ago, I could travel from the northern lands all the way to the desert within barely an hour..." A slight exaggeration, but she could travel quite quickly. Used to, at least. "But I fear trying to fly any long distance carrying you would have less than optimal results with my current health." The dragon huffed, deciding to address the kittens second question as she picked up the satchel containing their supplies for now.

"I cannot say I have ever been. The cities supposed destruction happened...long before I was even alive. A few hundred years, even. I have heard tales of it, however. A powerful city full of mages and beings of great power. As the legends states, the arrogant mages sought to usurp the gods in some manner, and the city was destroyed and swallowed by the ocean." The dragon replied. "It will be quite the adventure, no? Finding lost civilizations! I am rather envious that Gwynn is the one going instead of I. I do so miss adventuring with my old friends..." The dragon wistfully chuckled, but shook her head as she slung the satchel over her shoulders.

"At any rate, we should get moving. I will fly us a little of the way towards Gibraltar. I will stay low and go as fast as I dare carrying you, but I should not strain myself. We must still figure out a way to reach Atlantis, and I would like you to come up with how exactly we'll be doing that on the way there."

~Lyssa~

"I will! Next time I see her!" Lyssa replied. "Uhm...if I see her anytime soon...I don't really have any sort of way of contacting her, hehe!" She chuckled nervously, but thankfully Luna chose that convenient time to show up.

"Hello, luna!~" Without warning, Lyssa gave the knight a quick, friendly hug before bouncing off with a grin. "Hey hey, we should get going, right?" It was quite easy to tell the demon was probably eager to get on this little adventure. Perhaps a bit too eager.

The magierprinz nodded at Lyssa as she replied. Of course Selvina did not expect it to be easy, but she steamed a little bit despite trying to stop herself. Watching Luna draw her conclusions was admittedly a little cute, and as she eventually looked back up the book worm nodded. "Sorry about that ... thanks for the help, anyways."

If everyone else was ready, so was she. The noble lead the group towards the teleportation portal, raising an eyebrow at the demoness' sense of urgency. Eith was of course bein Eith, but she'd probably follow like the good puppy that she was. After doing whatever exchange was necessary, the magierprinz equipped her cold cloak and stepped onto the teleportation pad, waiting for it to activate.

The teacher smiled as the headmistress seemed surprised, thinking this was a good head start. Well, if she didn't know that then she also certainly didn't know the next part. "Not necessarily useless, because if we know your ancestors we can also figure out who she originally was. Could aid you in figuring out the full potential of her powers, or how she became the phoenix."

With a sigh, the mage took a brief look around before gulping and taking the plunge. "We also know that your ancestry was involved with either some form of the Mandate of Heaven or more likely the Egyptian Line of Pharaohs based on the fact that you are part divine."

If that wasn't going to make the headmistress' mouth drop, the teacher didn't know what would. It would take a white mage to look into the divine, not simply someone talented at manipulating souls.

The kitten listened as the dragoness reminisced before nodding her approval. So the dragoness wasn't all powerful despite Maoin's beliefs. The girl's cat ears dropped just slightly before they popped back up. Of course that was an unreasonable expectation.

Atlantis did seem like an interesting place to go visit, although the girl had no idea how they planned on going underwater upon their arrival. "Could ... are there any powerful mages in the local area? Perhaps one you owe a favor?" The girl's eyes looked at the road ahead of them, a little irritated at Lady Gwynn for making this so difficult. Did she really expect her own pet NOT to go after her?

"Either way, we should get going, right? Before the day becomes warm?" The kitten prepared herself to get picked up by the large dragon.

In response to the other girl's explanation, the crimson haired girl clarified. "... studying ... notes ..." It seemed that the fourteen year old wasn't sure what to ask for until it clicked. "... keeping knowledge ... straight ...?"

It was a pretty incredible feat for someone who had only first read a little over four weeks ago to have such a wide breadth of vocabulary and language, but being forced to sort papers and the encouragement of Livia with a healthy library at home led to the girl pouring a lot of her free time into such items.

Of course, she also needed to be polite as well. "... please ...?"
