Summery: The Arcisan government is a Democratic republic governed by three main branches. An Executive Branch lead by a president who serves ten year terms, a Legislative Branch made up of representatives from fifteen different regions. Each region has two representatives. Finally, a Judicial Branch, lead by seven grand judges that are appointed by the president. This branch decides whether a particular law, act, or legislation coincides with Arcisan Constitution of Civil Freedom. Military spending has always been one major priority of the government in general due to the nation's hostile neighbor. The Greater Republic of Arcis tends to be a player on the world stage, often acting as a mediator or peace keeper. Often times the nation is providing humanitarian aid to other less fortunate nations or in far away wars.

The government actively is against any form of organized religion and in the public eye it is seen as an evil, near barbaric practice.

Summery: Arcis for the most part is a progressive, open society. As long as one doesn't openly practice or express interest in organized religion, there is equality on multiple levels. The political world has various parties representing different aspects of liberal and conservative ideals, though people more popularly practice moderation, often electing individuals that try to make the best of both sides.

The Arcis Republican Guard and the Arcis Ariel Fleet
~The Arcis Republican Guard~This branch represents all Arcisan ground forces of the nation's military. They often employ well balanced Medium tanks, heavy gunned tank destroyers, and fast light tanks in their armored ranks, refraining from using any heavy armored units due to the mountainous terrain. Arcisan soldiers or "regulars" are known for their practical ingenuity and rugged stubbornness. Their equipment and weaponry reflects these traits with being universally reliable in harsh conditions.

-Arcisan Regulars-Weaponry:A: M903 Springer Rifle - A bolt action, .308 rifle that has great range and reliability. Easy to produce and maintain, this rifle also has a grenade launcher modification.Often used as a sharpshooter weapon.
B: M8-12 Remmy Rifle - A semi automatic rifle that also fires the .308 rifle round. It is loaded by 10 round clip.
C: Winch 97 Trenchgun: This pump action trenchgun fires .12 gauge rounds whether it be shot or slugs. Often used by assault squads in close range combat.
D: Browner Auto 5 - This is Arcis's first assault rife, firing a .306 rifle round, this weapon is heavier than the other rifles, but not to an unbearable extent. Has a higher tendacy to jam than other weapons in the arsenal and is less accurate, but provides good suppression fire when needed.
E: M193 Submachine-Gun - A .45 submachine gun that has a good rate of fire and is surprising more accurate than automatic .45s though is only effective at close to semi medium ranges. Often carried by squad leaders.
F: M197 Pistol: Most commonly sold and distributed pistol in Arcis's military, this semi-automatic pistol fires .45 rounds with a 15 round magazine. Usually carried by most soldiers and some civilians.
E: M12 Revolver: The oldest firearm in service, this revolver fires six .36 rounds. It is easy to clean, cheap to produce, and never jams.
501st Airborne DivisionThe 501st Airborne Division is well known for its feats in the Machine War during its first deployment. The 501st are elite airborne soldiers that specialize in versatility and adapting to new situations quickly and effectively.
Arcis Foreign LegionThe Arcis Foreign Legion is the more mobile force of the infantry divisions. Known for their unique camouflage, the Arcis Foreign Legion is usually the first on the ground in any foreign land, be it for war or for humanitarian relief. Their vehicles all have the similar camouflage as well, and they are slightly better trained than the "Regulars" and usually carry experience in going overseas. They specialize in adapting to foreign lands and being able to speak the local language as well as practice their traditions. They are the main providers of humanitarian aid and international defense.
The MK17 APCThis armored car can carry around six regulars and is usually fitted with a 20mm automatic cannon in the turret above. Other variations incude an unarmed open top used for supplies and a anti tank version that carries a M103 40mm recoiless rifle.
The MK12 HalftrackCan carry around twelve regulars and is usually fitted with a .50 caliber machinegun. Other variations include a quad .50 caliber AA (as seen in the image), a mobile mortar version, and a 75mm anti tank version. These are the backbone of transportation for regulars.
The A2 Light TankThis tank is a very mobile, fast tank used as infantry support and scouting. It carries a 40mm cannon and two .30 caliber machineguns. It can reach a top speed of 33 mph off road and is lightly armored. Also carries a smoke grenade launch tubes.
The A7 Main Battle TankThis is the most widely used, versatile tank in the Arcis Republican Guard. It has fairly thick, slopped frontal and turret armor and can go at around 27 mph off road. It sports a 78mm High Velocity cannon that fires trade mark
"Arcis Rounds" which have very high chances of piercing most armor. It can also fire High Explosive rounds for structural damage to buildings and is used both as a tank hunter and as a infantry support vehicle. This with the combination of an "auto reloader" makes for a deadly package. There compact design also aids them in battle, allowing them to use cover more effectively, but the turret often suffers from poor gun depression, making it vary vulnerable when going over hills. This tank also carries one .50 caliber machine gun in the turret.
The A10 Heavy TankThis is the most recent addition to the armored corps. It is the first heavy tank used in the Arcis Republican Guard sporting a 90mm cannon. It has all around thick armor, but suffers greatly in speed in maneuverability with a top speed of 18 mph off road. It also cannot fire Arcis Rounds. It carries one .50 caliber machine gun mounted in the turret.
The A12 Super Heavy TankThis tank carries four 185mm cannons and acts as essentially a mobile battleship turret. It isn't very fast with a top speed of 10 mph off road, but it has immense firepower.
AT5 Assault GunThis tank carries a snub nose 105mm cannon and is primarily used for assaulting heavily fortified targets as well as short range artillery support. It has thin armor, so it usually tries to stay out range and hidden from enemy fire. It has a top speed of 22 mph off road.
105mm HowitzerThis is the main artillery gun used in the Arcis Republican Guard. Its simple design makes it reliable, easy to maintain, and move around the battlefield. It has a range of around 7 miles.
78mm Anti AircraftThis howitzer like gun is used commonly as a flak gun against light and medium air targets.
122mm Anti Tank GunThis large anti tank gun is used as a defensive weapon or as a long term siege weapon. Due to its weight and size, it can't be easily maneuvered around the battlefield.
40mm Anti Material GunThis gun is used against both light armored vehicles and low flying aircraft. It fires in 8 round bursts.
~Arcis Ariel FleetThe shore line of Arcis is essentially one large fault line with rocky cliffs and jagged shores. There isn't a single beach on the entire coast of Arcis, thus their entire navy is based around the sky. The Arcis Ariel Fleet is much like their ground brethren, using ships and aircraft known for their durability and ruggedness. A small marine corps is also used in the Arcis Ariel Fleet.
Evon ClassThis is the oldest airship class in the fleet. It is heavily armored and its main battery is five 340mm cannons along with an assortment of 105mm cannons. It specializes in ground support as well as slugging it out with other armored airships, but it is very slow compared to the other classes and lacks any good anti fighter capabilities.
Arcis ClassThese airships are the pride of the fleet. This massive airship class carries ten 420mm cannons along with assorted calibers as well as a small hangar bay that can carry two squadrons of aircraft. They are expansive to make, so only three of these airships exist. Often times their intimidation value alone is enough to force a withdraw of enemy forces.
Saunders ClassThese airships are cruiser like vessels and are much more common of the airship classes. They carry six 127mm cannons along with one massive 350mm cannon useda against heavy airships and sieges. They have moderate anti air capabilities.
Avator ClassThese airships are the flying aircraft carries of the fleet. Currently the fleet carries four of these vessels. They can launch large numbers of a variety of aircraft and are capable in anti air situations as well as the sides of the decks are covered in flak guns. Of the four, the two newer ones sport metal decks, making them less susceptible to bomb penetration than their wooden deck counter parts.
Tac ClassThis airship class serves as a destroyer like vessel, specializing in anti air capabilities. They provide great support to the fleet and are armed with a main battery of four 57mm cannons along with eight 20mm automatic cannon emplacements. They are the fastest airships of the fleet and are highly maneuverable.
The FT-24 WarhawkThis is the trademark fighter of the Arcis Ariel Fleet. It carries twin engines with a top speed of around 390mph giving it a great climbing rate. This aircraft may not maneuver well as its current counter parts, but its rugged, tough design and great speed are used to the advantage by Arcisan pilots. The aircraft specializes in "Boom and zoom" tactics, where one will dive on an enemy, open fire, then dive away. The aircraft is equipped with four .50 caliber machine guns and a 37mm cannon in the nose.
FU-18 Multi Role AircraftThis aircraft is lighter and much more agile than the Warhawk, but is slower and less rugged. It is used for a variety of roles and carries four 20mm cannons in the nose. It can also be equipped with anti airship torpedoes (essentially unguided armor penetrating rockets) for anti ship operations.
FA-23 Attack AircraftThis fighter bomber is used as a both a tank killer as well as a ship attacker. Armed with a single 75mm cannon in the nose and twin .50 caliber machine guns in the back, it boasts of a great diving rate and good horizontal maneuverability, but it is vulnerable to fighter aircraft. Like Warhawk, it also well known for it's rugged reliability.
FT-39 Sparrowhawk This twin engine fighter is a heavy fighter used for intercepting bombers and enemy aircraft. It is surprisingly maneuvarible for its size, but still is no match to many single engine fighters. It carries six .50 caliber machine guns and four 20mm cannons.
B-15 Strategic BomberThis large, eight engine bomber can carry large bomb loads with a massive 9,978 mile range. It carries various turrets with .50 caliber machine guns while its tail and rear guns are 20mm cannons.
- Readiness:Due to the the tensions with Arcis's neighbor, the military is ready for full deployment at a moment's notice. Though if peace comes about in the coming times, it would take time to organize in to a combat effective status. Also, the current production focus is not primarily on wartime materials, despite the border dispute, thus a conversion in production would be needed before full mobilization could occur.

History:
The Greater Republic of Arcis is a relatively new addition to the world stage in comparison to other nations. It didn't originate from kingdoms of old united, tribal people leaving behind their spears, or even around a new found church. Arcis is a nation born from settlers who fled to these previously uncharted lands for freedom. At first, the small nation lived in isolation, with a relatively small population. Though as people around the land of Atlius learned of the nation's ideals of freedom and democracy, many people immigrated to Arcis. Soon the nation began to grow rapidly, with this population growth came industrial, economic, and territorial growth. The nation's culture grew more and more hateful of religion as many people where non-believer refugees from other theocratic nations. As their borders expanded, they came in contact with a slightly isolated nation in the north, The Imperial Desandi of the Church of the Machine... At first the government of Arcis disregarded the nation as a small, religious state that posed no real threat to the nation. They were very, very wrong. The Chuch of the Machine launched a crusade against the secular nation of Arcis and invaded rapidly. They razed cities to the ground and pushed deep into the heart of The Republic.
It seemed that The Greater Republic of Arcis would have a short lived history as the technologically superior forces of The Church of the Machine seemed to be unstoppable. But one man's insane idea changed the course of history. A rising general by the name of Booker Havston came up with a new kind of warfare. His plan was to have soldiers jump out of aircraft behind enemy lines and secure key towns, crossroads, and bridges while he simultaneously launched a sudden counter offensive on the enemy's weaker left flank. Desperate, the high command approved the plan and placed Havston in charge of the operation. Volunteers signed up for the new "Paratrooper" division and within a month they were ready as they would ever be. On a warm summer night, converted C-15 cargo aircraft flew over enemy lines towards their dropzones. At first, the enemy seemed to barley notice the aircraft and those who did were confused. The huge number of victories in the air had caused the Machine's forces to think they dominated the skies. Once the enemy did catch on, they went into a confused panic as they rushed to defensive positions. The 501st Airborne Division landed along the enemy lines and began reeking havoc on the unsuspecting enemy forces. At the same time, the frontlines where suddenly smashed as armored divisions charged through the loosely defended left flank. For the next two weeks, the 501st airborne divisions defended their objectives, fighting off wave after wave of attackers until the main assaulting forces broke through and regrouped with them. Only one section of the 501st, known as "The Hellcats" was still fighting for a key town of Radford. Radford was a river crossing down with the largest bridge on one the Kervol River. It was the only bridge that could support heavy tanks in crossing. The Hellcats continued to fight tooth and nail for the town as massive forces continued to attack them. Low on ammo, food, and other supplies, horribly outgunned, and outnumbered, the Hellcats through thick and thin some how where able to hold that bridge until the counter offensive force rushed in, now outnumbering the Church of the Machine's forces 5 to 1. As the months dragged on the enemy was pushed further and further back until they reached their original border. Their the Arcis forces dug in and created a heavily defended defensive line while the enemy did the same. Eventually a "Cease Fire" agreement was signed by the nations, yet they seem to still be at each other's throats ever since.
