"I'm sorry, the stairs have this nasty habit of having a random nail or something sticking out to trip me. I look and look but I can't find anything and then I get tripped." I reply in the same hushed tone.

"Well...I'll see what I can do about that. In the meantime, do your best to keep it down, alright?" He says. When you look at his face, you notice his right eye is scarred and has a red iris while the other eye is its normal color. He then heads toward the stairs in order to inspect them. ((Not sure if IC you saw it, so I'm just mentioning it again just in case.))

He finds the stairs are absolutely perfect. Nothing even remotely wrong with them.
