"Yep." I open it, and the room is brightly lit. This little girl is curled up in the corner:
I walk over to her, and she lifts her head up, staring through her hair.
I walk over to her, completely unfazed by her appearance. "Hey there Annie." She nods back. "You're going to come with us now." She responds by moving deeper into the corner. "No, no, don't be scared, we won't hurt you... We've come to help you." I say, and she seems to register this, slowly moving out of the corner towards me.
