Alright, you and @Ellion can go make second characters. I definitely see the merit of the more active players having a couple of options, so that the story can move forward on one front, even if another is slowed down. Besides, I have like six now.
Whose powers, by the way, I am surprised nobody is theorizing about.
Well... is the silver one like... a flying-type Pokemon?
He usually dresses in fast drying clothing or swimwear. Until it starts snowing, he can be seen in flip flops or barefoot. His hands and feet are highly calloused from hard labor.
Personality: While Rhys isn't shy, he doesn't have a lot of friends either. Really great acquaintances that he hangs out with and parties with, but he just simply doesn't have the time for form close bonds. Between working and caring for his father and school, it had made him rather serious and was forced to grow up quickly. He has great work ethic and will always see thing through to the end, even if it is doomed to fail. Especially if he feels as though he has taken on a leader role. At the same time, he isn't nearly as grown up or as clever or as level headed as he thinks he is. He is prone to childish passive aggressive tactics towards those he see that 'rich' and will actively try to make those people seem foolish, or bait them into a full on brawl for no other reason than they are wealthy. He will also try to fight people he sees looking down at his father for being crippled or poor.
Likes: Boats, sailing, oceanography, nature music Dislikes: Rich people. People who look down on his father. Hobbies: Sailing, Fishing, Swimming, Snorkeling....Sailing.
Background:
Rhy comes from a navy based background. He was raised to respect authority. He was raised to be honest, hardworking, diligent and passionate. And most of all, he was raised to love the sea.
It was truly by chance that his family ended up in Greenbriar, Oregon at all. In fact, his mother hadn't even heard of the place before his parents happened on it on their way to Seattle for the final funeral of his father's mate who didn't make it. People in the navy weren't supposed to get hurt, they weren't supposed to die. They were supposed to be far from the action in subs and ships. But one sneak attack had injured his father to the point where he was honorably discharged and given medals upon medals. As though that was supposed to bring back his father's friends or his legs.
His parents had always traveled with his father's work. Never staying at any one base more than a year or two at most. Yet, suddenly they found themselves without place to call home. And they fell in love with the little town from the brief stop at the gas station. They packed up their belonging and move not long before the Red Lights flashed across the sky. It was even hard to say that they lived in the town, as for the first few years after Rhys was born, they lived in his father's boat. Growing up he didn't know it, but the army pension wasn't enough to truly support the family and they were flat broke.
It was hard for his father to find work after all, who would want to hire a no legged cripple. His mother also struggled to find jobs as she had married his father at 17 and never had to work a day in her life. It was never enough, not really. But slowly they were able to save enough to buy a small house. It wasn't much, but it was theirs and the way his mother spoke of it, it could have been a palace. Sadly his mother didn't get to enjoy it long. Not six months after they moved in, she was hit by some rich kid driving too fast and too drunk. The kid got a year in jail and probation and Rhys got to lose his mother. He was five years old.
His dad then sold the house and moved the two of them back into the boat. And that was were he lived to this day. It wasn't all bad, his father and him had been to some of the most beautiful places in the world. During summer vacation, they would just unhook the house and travel. His father never had to leave to work, he simply took the boat after Rhys would leave for school, fish and then return home to pick him up.
It was a good thing his father stayed mostly on the boat. At sea, he was free and at home. At sea he wasn't a cripple. On land, he relied on Rhys for nearly everything. And in his old age, he had started to rely on his son more and more. Fishing wasn't paying the bills anymore, so Rhys had to get a job at the yacht club, helping the rich people he hated so much 'feel like real sailors'.
Ideally, Rhys would have gone into the navy right out of high school, but his father forbade it. Now, all he can see his life is working at the yacht club and getting suck further and futher by being forced to care for his father's failing health.
Currently, his plan is to go crabbing in Alaska so that he could get enough money to get his father the help he needs and get the heck out of town.
This "come up with a character off the top of my head" plan is not working out like I hoped. Fortunately, I use music to inspire a character (You can guess which ones from their sheets).
Jasmine Woods
Name:
Jasmine Caroline Woods
Appearance:
Jasmine is a very pronounced teenager in terms of appearance. It's her deeply Ugandan, Ethiopian, and Kenyan roots (Though, oddly enough, she's mostly Ethiopian because her mother is pureblooded Ethiopian, and her father is part Ethiopian). That means that Jasmine here is African-American to her very bone. Afro-textured hair, brown-skin, thick lips, and of course the African facial-shape. She has a slightly nerdy vibe about her because she is utterly blind without her glasses, and hates the fact that she has to wear them. However, the girl is much more in line with urban girls. It's the way she dresses and acts, after all. Jasmine has the aura of a model, mostly because she loves to pose, and take pictures of herself. She's a girl that loves to be in tip-top shape, instead of being a slob. Because of this, the girl's body is pretty well-toned from exercise and the biz. She has the build of a runner because she's a track runner in school. The rest of her body is well-toned because of yoga-stretches, and body building.
All of this means that Jasmine is a tad muscular. Almost like she is aiming to become a model. She does have a bit of body-fat, and all it does is make the girl curvier. I'll go into that later. The girl isn't painfully tall at five-three, but her build more than makes up for it. She has a pear body-shape, instead of the famed hour-glass - but she makes it work. With her lower body being the wider part of Jasmine, her breasts aren't anything to write home about at 34B, but her hips and behind are wide. Her perfectly round behind is the butt of many jokes.
Jasmine walks with a swagger in her step, and sways her hips left and right. She definitely gives off the aura of a vain female with all the looks she gives people that tells them she's the queen bee. Though, she certainly has a playful side. It shows when she smiles - and that's only when she's around the people she trusts very much.
Personality:
A tad abrasive. Jasmine is a girl that is very vain and haughty about her talents, and appreciates all the love and admiration for being Greenbriar's finest child. She has a lot of confidence in herself, and the skills to back it up, of course. She's normally laid back until someone sets off that flaming temper of hers, then she turns into a screaming maniac that is blunt as hell. Like, she'll give people the most savage verbal beatdowns on the planet. Jasmine is blunt in general, but honestly, she mostly reserves that for the people who annoy her the most. She speaks in a casual and friendly manner, and uses the lingo and slang you'd expect a eighteen year old to use. Not overly energetic, but she puts enough passion into her interactions that leaves a good first impression. Usually putting on a confident smirk. Certainly playful and confident with other people, and tends to spout jokes, and the sorts. Jasmine is so confident in herself that, when she makes a mistake, she owns up to it, and takes full responsibility for it. Most importantly, looking down on people who don't.

Modeling. Track Running. Basketball. Soccer.
Background:
Jasmine was born as the daughter of two upper-middle class parents. She was called a literal miracle because she was born in the age when all the babies died of unexplained causes. Jasmine, due to her upbringing, had a headstart to pick her hobbies. She was always a ball of energy... like, she was a limitless supply of it. Which caused her to act out without any real outlet. It would be years before anyone would even think of putting Jasmine in a sport. She was made to join her school's basketball team, and became the team's star player in no time. With nothing but talent alone, she demolished the other schools with ease, and became a legend in Greenbriar in no time. Earning her a spot with the popular kids. She also joined the track team, and a friend of hers taught her how to play soccer. That was the start of her arrogance, since she was so much better than sports than everyone else, doesn't that mean she's a fundamentally better person? Though, Jasmine was an average student, she got by with them average grades. Once school was over, Jasmine spent most of her time practicing for real so she can join the WMBA. She also picked up modeling as something to do to get her more exposure.
This character's a little different, because I wanted to even out all the nice girls a little bit. While she isn't a total bitch, she sure as hell won't be a ball of sunshine. Eh. I'll develop her in the IC.
@Gisk Tell me what you think. I feel like her power will probably inconvenience her athletic ability, but surprise me!
Enhanced hearing. She basicly can hear things that are a lot further away and also sounds that are normally too high-pitched for humans to even notice. Maybe later on she can use it as echolocalization for in the dark. The catch: loud noises will actually hurt her ears, meaning stuff like a whistle, loud music or even people (including herself) talking loudly will be unpleasant for her. ((Reasoning: she can't do sports anymore that even slightly involve loud noises, and she will start to hate music))

I like this, basically Daredevil(except she's not blind).
My other thought is that she can eat anything. Anything at all, she can crunch in her jaws and swallow it. Guy pointing a gun at you? Swallow it, hand and all. Padlock on a gate? Nom! But she gets progressively fatter over time as she uses her power.
Also, probably that thing where you eat random shit. Pica, I think.
Since the cat is out of the bag about how they're chosen, what do you guys think?
@Gisk Nah, I like it. I was thinking it would be something like that, but I was thinking more of a poliwag (Can walk on water, but it isn't a choice, he always walks on water and cannot be submerged in it) But I just thought of all the horrible things I am going to do to it with him :3
Also! @Mr Allen JAre you waiting for me or am I waiting on you?
I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding of my character.
She's easy to goad into a fight, but she wouldn't have tried to fight Zoey or any of her friends unless they were being assholes. Her main deal is that she doesn't like to be stepped on, and sometimes she can be sensitive about that, but your character would have to have done something to start it, it doesn't just happen.
And she's also quick to forgive, so if someone makes an effort to communicate that they didn't mean to slight her, she'll be chill.
She isn't just a rage machine, her attitude is a reaction to a deeply oppressive social environment that she was born into.
The reason I originally thought she might be friends with Zoey is because she isn't likely to have set Aud off, and therefore isn't likely to get in a fight with her.
Also, random fun fact, I came pretty close to referring to the twins as Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum in some of my posts. I also almost used Heckle and Jeckle.
EDIT: I hope I don't come off as nit-picky, but her extreme reaction to Audrey just doesn't really work, the history you built for them is unrealistic with the way the character is in my head.
@Gisk Question! Does Rhys corrade things with bare skin or like...if he wore gloves that wouldn't happen? Should he start wandering the world in a plastic bubble?
