Aenwyn Loradi
Age: 183
Gender: Female
Race: Wood Elf
Rank: Scholar
Personality:
When Aenwyn is busy, one could mistaken her aloofness as snobbery. The truth of the matter is that Aenwyn is too focused with her scrolls to pay attention to anyone else. Aenwyn thirsts for knowledge and she believes knowledge is power. This obsession sometimes puts her at odds with others especially regarding magic. She believes magic is not good nor evil. It simply is. Thus, she has no qualms learning about forbidden arts for she believes it is the user that determines the nature of their magic.
Outside of her studies, Aenwyn is cordial and she is also outspoken. She dislikes violence and prefers a more diplomatic approach to problems. However, she will use force if all other options are exhausted. Though she has the appearance and air of a bookworm, Aenwyn also greatly enjoys traveling to see new sights.
History:
Aenwyn Loradi is a veteran war mage of the Convergence War who fought alongside Tabetha Lockwell during the defense of the Wood Elves' realm. In times of peace she was a scholar, researcher, and a practitioner of magic. In the aftermath of the war, many Wood Elves who fought with the Order chose to retreat back into the forest. Aenwyn was among few who decided to stay with the Order. Her reasoning was simple. With the arrival of the new world, there was much to see and much to learn and much to catalog.
When the Overseers of Serenity was made known to some, Aenwyn was intrigued. She was surprised to learn that a massive library existed within the organization and wasted no time in being a scholar to access the knowledge within.
One of Aenwyn's hopes is to document the new world and its inhabitants. But, her greatest aspiration is to learn new schools of magic. Thanks to the advent of new ethereal energies coming out of the new world and intermingling with theirs, Aenwyn only knows that the present will be full of new discoveries and she intends to be there to see it. Retreating back to the forest would be a disservice to herself.
Weapons:
Grimoire of the Ancients: A spellbook containing many spells Aenwyn has encountered over the years. This does not mean she learned, let alone master the spells that were encountered. Rather, it is a catalog of spells Aenwyn has found useful or interesting be it in real life or scrolls. The book is magically locked and enchanted to warn the owner if anyone has touched the grimoire.
Ilyta's Hand: A wand fashioned from the branch of a great tree, it's properties allow Aenwyn to channel mana more efficiently. Though infinite mana is likely an impossiblity, anything that allows one to use less mana is a boon for a mage.
Silver Dagger: A last resort weapon when all is lost. Worn at the hip.
Magic:
Aenwyn's main school of magic are
1. Conjuration: Conjuration connects the caster's mind with that of the summoned thing. It is a tenuous link, meant only to lure, hold, and dismiss; but in the hands of a Master, it can be much stronger.
2. Abjuration: Abjuration is the study of protective magic. The most well known abduration spell is a mana shield that can protect people from attacks.
