Accepting Magi CSs ! Discord Server for MP !




One hundred years ago everything changed. The Mages decided it's time to do something that is impossible , to be Gods. 'Thus has started and ended the reign of the Magi. The other races didn't accepted their claim of Godhood and they rebelled against the Magi. Soon after the Warrior Guild was created , now called the Empire. After 70 years of fighting they won the war and enslaved the Magi , killing those of them that were too powerful to be left alive and destroying almost all the inventions made by them.
The Empire enacted the Citadel 75 years after the war. The mages since they are detected with magical talent are sent to the Citadel. An anti-magic prison of sorts. Every 6 years a few mages ( 1/8 of the population ) are allowed to study to casts spells for the kingdom when needed. If a mage gathers too much power / too much knowledge he is sent to the Death Row and killed. The mages that are not selected are kept in magic-dampering cells.
Now 100 years later evil threatens the Empire again...




Thank you for reading the small description , first of all. Now.

The story will be about exploring a place called The Wastelands. A place that was destroyed in the Magi War.
This place is different from the other places in the kingdom. Experiments roam the land free and technology there is more advanced than the rest of the lands. Because of the magic ban , many inventions were considered "taboo" so they are not used. The action of the RP takes place 100 years after the war and many things about the war itself was forgotten or have become a myth. So there will be a lot of amazement from our characters when they see some of the inventions of the past.

About the magic. Every race available will have an a different magic type and costs of the use of that magic.
Example : A dark human ( I'll explain each race in the OCC ) will only be allowed to master Black Magic and the cost of it will be probably life force. Their own or the others.
Only the masters of old could use any kind of magic and casts the most complex spells that would need mastery of more than one magic type.
For the spells themselves I will allow the players to choose only 1 complex spell ( only if explained how they've learned it because magic tomes and such were destroyed after the war and as I said. Magic is highly regimented by the Warrior Guild. Now called the Empire ) and 2/3 basic spells. More magic spells will be learned after they start the journey.

All mages ( of any race ) live in the Citadel. So...the mage characters will know each other. They are not friends but they are acquaintances.

There will only be 2/3 Mage positions the others will be warrior. If more people want to join , I'll open up more positions for the Mage characters.

Map Legend : Blue Terrain = Magic ooze and such. Wasteland territory.
Red Terrain = Red Sand.
Purple Terrain = Dead land. Death feels as home here.

Rules


  • 1. No godmodding. Everyone can die.
  • 2. Normal guild rules apply.
  • 3. If you want to romance and do stuff. It's PG-13 , everything is ok 'till cloths go off then fade to black. Swearing is allowed in IC but keep it civil in OCC.
  • 4. My word is law. So goes for my Co-GM's ( when they will appear ).
  • 5. More rules will appear if needed.
  • 6. Mention people in posts !

Nice I have a character I used in another RP and want to alter him for this story I just want to check if him being half-human half-elven would be fine. I am pretty sure the spells he would use would be in the life category, or atleast I would assume buffs do fall under life.

@Venku Hmmm...I totally didn't thought about the possibility of half breeds. I think I will allow them but...the babies will not be able to master any of the two types of magic. Even if they have an affiliation to both of them. They will only be able to cast simple spells on both of the magic schools.

Only two questions:

If I wanted to make a character that uses enchanted weapons but doesn't use magic spells, would I use a Mage or Non-Mage CS?

If Enchantments need magic to be supplied from a user, what school would that be, or can a Non-mage pick up a magic sword and use its power?

@Shadow Daedalus First Question. Non-Mage CS. He would need to be an elite guard tho'.
Second Question. That will be the Enhancement school ( I totally forgot to add it , really sorry ) which any race can learn but to do that they would need to loose all their spell skills ( he will only be able to enhance weapons and objects but nothing more because that would make him too powerful and killed on the spot ). But...if he would want to make a complex enhancement he would need the help of the other Magi. He can make basic enhancements but to make a specific enhancement ( like a fire sword or arrows that steal the life force of someone etc ) he would need a Mage that studied the specific Magic school. ( fire sword = elemental magic etc ).

A non-mage character can use enchanted weapons or armors etc but as I said before , he would need to be an elite guard ( which you are ).

@Caits Sure do. You can have more characters so...yeah. When 4 warriors appear , I'll reopen Magi-CS's.

I think I'll make my own Warrior to speed things up.

He enlisted as a soldier for the Empire at age 16, where he was deployed to quell various uprisings and such. He came to specialise in Anti-mage combat, and collected various Enhanced equipment to help him in his role. He was been assigned as a Guard Captain *Need clarification on ranks* for the Citadel for the last 3 months and has settled into role quickly and efficiently.
Predisposition to the Magi : Neither one way or the other, he sees Mages as a defeated people, no more no less. He does not spite them, nor does he pity them.
Personality: Hard and professional, James has been raised with a disciplined lifestyle which is reflected in his outward personality. Around his men, he's hard and efficient. Around the civilians of the Citadel, he's cold and professional. He does have a softer side, but will rarely show it. He is also likely to avoid forming emotional relationships, but is more than welcome to partake in a purely physical relationship.
Notes: He has collected four pieces of enchanted equipment thus far:
  • Mage-Breaker:His main swords, a Long-sword enchanted with magic cancels out and destroys other magic, the anti-magic looks like teal and black flames wrapping around the blade.
  • Iron-light: Long-sword enchanted with magic flames, useful for burning enemies or starting campfires.
  • Arc-stone: A powerful lightning stone inlaid into his left gauntlet, allowing him to shoot lightning from his left hand. Continuous use can cause him injury.
  • Ward of Light: another magic stone inlaid into his gauntlet, although he can't identify which type, that allows him to cast a protective shield in front of himself. Can ward off low-level spells and regular physical attacks, but high-level magic with shatter the shield and the backlash will stun him for a short time.

@Shadow Daedalus Looks good but...
1. Too many Enchanted weapons. Remember , people hate magic. He may not hate it but his superiors do. Choose two and discard the others , please and...all those weapons would make him an Holy Templar. He wouldn't be sent on this mission if he would be one.
2. Ranks :
  • T1 ( Tier 1 ) : Initiate ( Lowest rank , basically they are Jailers )
  • T2 : Apprentice Templar ( Low rank. Patrol Duty , nothing more )
  • T3 : Templar ( Normal Rank , Mage Guardians and Executioners and occasionally sent in missions for The Empire )
  • T4 : Grand Templar ( Maximum level allowed for player characters , any higher and they wouldn't be allowed to join the mission , they would be too valuable ) ( Elite Soldiers. Sent on special missions and squad commanders )
  • T5 : Lord Templar ( Controls all non-secret missions assignments. Seen on the battlefield only when the battle is almost lost )
  • T6 : Holy Templar ( The strongest soldiers of The Empire. A squad of these soldiers can easily fight against 30 soldiers and win without a scratch , only sent on secret missions or when everything else has failed )
  • T7 : Ascended Templar ( The highest tier , he is practically the General of the Empire's Anti-Magi army )

So he'd be a Grand Templar, and would only have Mage-Breaker and Arc-stone

EDIT: I've thought of a slightly different backstory for him. Basically, He fell in love with a mage and rebelled against the Empire a little while before the start of the RP, running away as a fugitive until he ended up in the Citadel. Naturally, he is a little kinder/less strict and has a slightly more sympathetic disposition. I don't know which story I prefer though.
