Four Winds - Interest Thread

@RoflsMazoy There aren't really seniors in Four Winds. Graduation comes in the form of a ceremony where you're deemed skillful enough in the controlling of your abilities and are allowed to leave.

Coming into the school, no. Unless your ability is summoning some sort of weapon. However, when you're in the school, its pretty normal. Weapons will either be given or acquired.

Will they be region based, like Harry Potter? If so, does that mean all characters are expected to be Japanese, given it being set in a valley in Japan?

@Mercurial Nah, no restrictions. You can be any nationality you want. The schools pick their students based on their own specific criteria.

Would it be possible to have a synergist type of character? One whose powers actually amplify the powers of others?

I was toying with the idea of a Hatsudo-class wizard with a visible area of effect indicator of some sort.

That seems quite feasible. To maintain an area of affect buff would probably take a load of concentration to pull off; that's more possible in the latter parts of the RP. Maybe you could have single target buffs instead but would last for a few posts? Just remember that you're all going to be newbies.

I wouldn't mind single-target buffs, yeah.

I was thinking of nuances along the lines of "AoE effects are half the potency of single-target effects," but since we're all magical crotchfruits, I can discuss development trajectory with you when we actually get there.

But if a synergist-type is feasible, I'll start putting things on paper.

@January I think it'll be better to have multiple targets instead of AoE. I mean, it'll translate better in writing rather than metioning how large the spell's AoE is.

Then there are the twin tails that mark her as Baneko or Nekomata both types of yōkai

Not sure what the implications of being similar to a Baneko or Nekomata would be, but she can have enhanced reflexes and agility since those are cat-like things.
