YOU'RE NOT MY REAL MOM
N A M E:Victoria Colette Delacour (her real last name is in fact Beauchamp).
N I C K N A M E:Tory, to very few people. Vicki to no one ever. Colette is somewhat of a common one, but only to those who know her fairly well.
G E N D E R:Female
A G E:December 24th 1998
B L O O D S T A T U S:PurebloodVictoria looks as though she could be French which is suitable due to the fact that her parents grew up in Marseilles. She has a striking look about her and is never short on compliments both due to her figure and natural look about her. But she also has an endearing sort of smile, it is innocent all things considered. That’s why she hides it for the most part. She instead keeps a focused look about her, she is always intent on seeming perfectly calm and in control of her emotions. Especially when she is not. She has a small New York accent that comes out when her emotions run high, which is to say that no one has really heard it yet. Save for maybe a select one or two. Victoria has a habit of fidgeting that in recent years she has almost completely suppressed.
Her clothing style is highly variant and depends mainly on the weather, in cooler weather she wears a tan pea coat with a simple six button design. Typically a pair of leather pants, or leggings follow underneath. In warmer weather however she is typically in a graphic tank top and sports bra along with some shorts. She may act professional at all times but she certainly dresses as though she could’ve been in Tituba. Victoria stands at a fairly tall five feet eight inches and has a rather flat slim figure all the way around. She doesn’t really have anything all that noticeable other than her face, which has been said to be fairly attractive. Other than that she certainly holds herself with a level of confidence that some may find to be intimidating.
When Victoria is alone she often is completely different, even laughing a fair amount. She lets who she really is out of the shell she puts up when being faced with others. She smiles a lot more too. However even when others aren’t looking she tends to keep her façade up just in case. She has a reputation to maintain ever since she was addressed as a Good Witch. This has required her to maintain a level of respect around the school – or at least that’s how she acts. So outside of her room she is Victoria Delacour and she does not look like the kind of girl you’d ask directions from.

B E S T C L A S S:Charms
Having spent the almost every waking moment from the moment she turned eleven, Victoria has put all too much effort into magic. Victoria spent almost all of her time studying charms. So much so that her studies found her wandering into the realm of jinxes and hexes.
W O R S T C L A S S:Defense Against the Dark Arts
Perhaps it would be better with how much effort she has put into learning magic. But can you adequately defend yourself from something you’re not sure if you fear?

Head Female – Salem (In the running)
W A N D:A Hornbeam Wand with a Horned Serpent Core
A wand that sleects a witch with a single obsession in this world. That goal is typically realized, but almost never strayed from. An optomist might call it a vision, but that's an optomist for you. The Horned Serpent Core is supposedly to make an incredibly powerful wand that hums musically when danger is near. It is a wand as driven as Victoria and as purposeful as she is. It refuses to stray from her goal to become the most powerful witch the world has ever seen and drives her further into obsession.
P A T R O N U S:A Wolverine
Despite it's size and stature it is a vicious animal seeking out it's prey and dutifully tearing it to shreds, sometimes faster than the eye can see. It is known as a dangerous predator anywhere it can be found and that is much the same about the Witch it looks after.
B O G G A R T:Victoria's Boggart takes the form of her. Barely clothed, not able to stand due to lack of strength, not properly fed. It is a dying, inconceivably frail version of herself. Victoria has a hard time looking at herself with that level of weakness. She vows to never become that weak. To never rely on someone like that version of herself must. No matter the personal cost.
F A M I L I A R:The Northern Goshawk, or the Red-Eye Terror. Is a bird of prey that is in fact the largest of the bird-eating birds in North America. On a morning hike it saw Victoria, landing on her shoulder digging it's sharp talons into her shoulder. She didn't move, starting at the bird with an indignant face. Since then, she's been able to call it via whistling. She isn't sure if she chose it or if it chose her.
P E R S O N A L I T Y:Victoria is about as troubling as the Good witches come. Since the moment she picked up her wand at the age of eleven she’s wanted nothing more than to use it to deadly efficiency, to be the best witch there was. But she proved to be the exact opposite of a natural. Her family at first could only afford to send either her sister or herself to Salem, so they sent her sister. This bred hatred from Victoria. And a deep-seated desire to gain proficiency with her wand. It started small, she’d practice every day and has since garnered an amount of determination that most would consider largely ludicrous. Since not being selected to go to Salem by her mother she has worked tirelessly at improving both her own skills and the knowledge of charms. It can be seen as an obsession, she spends nary a waking moment thinking about anything else and is almost always talking about it.
She has little patience for people who are suffering because of their own choices and often finds herself disgusted at the privileged views of many purebloods, thinking they have the right to attend Salem. Victoria, coming from a very poor family could only afford the supplies for her sister to go. She often finds herself actin methodically to the point where she is almost bored of her life. She eats, trains, studies, attends classes and clubs and then falls back asleep. She is the picture perfect student – but outside of magic she isn’t quite sure who she is. Perhaps she needs someone else to help her to that answer. She’s just not too sure she wants anyone’s help. She is actually incredibly empathetic coming from a family in which she wasn’t always certain where her next meal was coming from. But she hides this and often tries to stay out of everyone’s business. She doesn’t care if Jennifer kissed Matt last night. She could be spending this time studying. It should be noted that she isn’t outwardly mean she simply prefers to stick to herself. In that regard she’s a bit of a loner. As far as extra-curriculars are concerned she offers her full participation however and is always ready to learn a lesson.
In class she is stubborn to an absolute fault. She will almost never ask for help with a given task and will bash her head against it until she figures it out. While it is a terrible way for learning – at least in the interest of time – it has garnered her some respect from others and professors. She has been commonly seen attempting to learn spells and even once took a fifteen minute beating from an upper class student in dueling club in order to understand where she was going wrong with her counter magic. She is certainly the walking exemplar of determination. So much so that Victoria has convinced nearly everyone at the school that she is not in fact from her own family. Since her sister has long graduated, Victoria goes by the family name Delacour. She claims they are Canadian, and incredibly respected in their country. Sighting her ability to speak French as Quebecois and completely convincing everyone else she has so much to live up to. It started with the candle. While Victoria believes she even tricked the magical item, an answer closer to the truth may just be that she only convinced the candle that she is a Good. For better or worse.
R O M A N T I C I N T E R E S T S:Victoria has never had a relationship and as such identifies as Demisexual. She isn’t sure who she could fall for and isn’t sure that she ever will, she’s open to suitors and is largely accepting, due to her much hated empathy, but she has certainly never gone for someone outright. But with so many secrets, she isn’t exactly clamoring for a girlfriend or boyfriend.
L I K E S:
- Knowing that she is getting better, stronger.
- Her morning meditation. She is able to center herself greatly in that regard.
- Dueling, specifically winning. When she can prove all she has worked for is working, she tends to smile a little.
- A warm meal, she is always grateful to have a full belly. Growing up without much money does that.
- Her hawk. While she isn’t certain which one of them chose the other she does know that they’ve both been chosen at this point.
- A nice conversation. This she hides most of the time, but she is usually pleasant as long as she isn’t interrupted or addressed rudely. She finds people with a great deal of magical talent to be fascinating.
- Focused electronic music, it helps her think greatly.
D I S L I K E S:
- Relying on others. It just proves her weakness and that her mother was right.
- Rodents. They portray a weakness that is all too familiar to the unwealthy.
- Defense Against the Dark Arts. She doesn’t get the point of swearing off an entirety of magic. It could be interesting to study…
- PDA, Victoria is just absolutely not about that at all.
- Tea, it all tastes like burned water to her. Can you burn water? Doesn’t matter.
- Muggle Studies. The world is so much more important than those who fail to grasp the entirety of it.
- The concept of her own failure. She often refuses to admit it’s even in the realm of possibility. Which, of course it is.
H O B B I E S:
- Testing her own limits through dueling.
- Preparing herself for her tests, usually leaning heavier on the practical side since she’s fairly strong on the theoretical stuff.
- Going for runs.
- She sometimes watches people speak, kind of just a people watching thing. She tends to wish she had the ability to speak to others casually. But she really doesn’t.
F E A R S:
- Poverty.
- Love
- Death without Achievement.
B A C K G R O U N D:Victoria first found decided she wanted to be the best witch she could ever possibly be when she was only eleven years old. She got the speech, the wand picks you. The problem was the wand that picked her felt like it had no reason to. It was a wand meant for power, great determination and strength. Yet a young Victoria knew not how to cast a single spell. In fact with her over-sized glasses she was a complete clutz. Her mother had to make a decision, an unfair one to have thrust upon her and yet there it was. She could afford to send one of her two children to Salem. Victoria or Diana. Diana was in seventh year, she was just about to finish she should’ve been allowed to finish. But… Victoria had a light in her eyes when you spoke to her about the school that no one could replicate. She shone whenever the topic of magic so much as came up.
She sent Diana. Victoria understood at first. She was upset, but understanding. That night she took her wand out to the backyard and attempted to perform a few charms. She, of course failed with no proper instruction she was utterly hopeless. Her sister must’ve heard her because she joined her shortly after she had started. Attempted to guide her through the steps. Let her younger sister have something before she left for Salem and Victoria would stay here. But she was honestly hopeless. She couldn’t do anything right the entire night. By the time Diana was ready to give up she had to get her bags, the sun had greeted them. That was always Victoria’s least favourite sunrise.
She took up a job handing out the papers around the block in order to get a bit of spending money, intent on learning more about magic. She was able to purchase a book on charms that had been preowned by some other students from Salem. That night, she couldn’t put it down. When her mother yelled at her threatening to make her sleep in her mother’s room Victoria simply hid under the sheets with a flashlight… Until she thought it was late enough. She snuck back out to the yard and tried again. But once more the sun met her before she was able to produce a single ounce of magic.
Finally she came upon a page detailing instructions on a simple hex. It would turn out to be Anteoculatia. She found it on a page towards the back, but it had been added in after the fact. It had a message scribbled in dried ink. “Embrace who you may become if you travel down this path and embrace the darkness of the night around you.” It had read. She did as it read, closing her eyes and embracing the darkness around her. She said the magic words and as a little Victoria opened her eyes she saw something she never thought she’d see. A horned rabbit.
The next year she was able to attend Salem and proved to be a natural at learning. The lengths she would take were often brought into question. But one thing was for certain. She would have learned a wealth of knowledge by the time she left Salem. Whether it was taught to her, or she had to squeeze ever last bit of information she could get from the school.
