@rush99999
The Storyteller's strength cannot simply remain while the Warlock casts his spell. Just having the ring isn't enough to guarantee that the spell won't work on him. The Storyteller has to ask Erudessa for what he wants, and she'll tailor a spell for him based on his abilities, character, and tactical situation. Tiberius got a simple strength spell, while Kaite is going to get something considerably more complicated. The Storyteller should be weakened like everyone else, and then I'll handle Erudessa's response as appropriate.

Also consider that Vert's subplot is still active. She's supposed to be the hero here at the moment. We need to support her until the subplot comes to a close. Not saying you can't try to supplant her or do your own thing, though.

I'll change my post if it bothers you, but what gave you the idea that Erudessa and her ring were behind the counteracting of the spell's effect for The Storyteller when I stated that it was the voice that was doing so?

Because that would be God-moding, and you wouldn't do that to us.

I'm getting the distinct impression that players are unhappy with how I'm handling the Warlock, especially with the decision to hand over control of the character to another non-GM player. Is that what's happening here? I'll definitely consider any objections raised, and I think Darkwatck would have no problem going along with a related decision on that point.

Well damn, didn't think it would cause a fuss. If it is I will retract myself from current events.

I don't mind in the slightest, as long as there is a plan on how the story progresses from this point.
I mean, we could just get party-wiped. It would certainly be the first time I've seen it, ever, in forum roleplay.

That would make for horrible story telling, little inside, working on this at the moment, when time comes it will be dropped but hold out a little longer. Trying to keep things stable in Team Speak and with Thin :L I feel like I an't doin' myself any favors.

Okay, we've worked out a plan: Keep doing what you're doing. Use your Rings and attack the Warlock with everything you've got. It's important that you show him your strength for this to work and stay alive.

Why are people using magic in their posts? Did the Warlock just detonate a magic EMP?

I'm currently deciding whether any action is worth pursuing at this point. The players were not made aware of how the spell works, only that it weakened them and interrupted their magic. So while they're technically violating the laws of magic, I can't blame them for not knowing, and it seems to serve the story to let them alone. Yet I enforced it on rush99999, thinking he would be alone in pushing the boundaries and that the other players would take notice (which they didn't).

So the question I have to wrangle with is, do I consistently enforce the rule, or do I let it slide for the sake of the story? I reeeally don't want to start any fights that I don't have to. I already feel like a jerkwad as it is, challenging ineffable and rush99999.
