@Shoryu Magami I have a project like that, its a very big project and very much based on certain personalities that my soul or my mind comes up with. Which is why I have a lot of profiles on hold since I want to actually RP instead of create them, the worldbuilding can wait too since yeah, it would take awhile.

Even though one of the profiles is slightly larger than the maximum character limit on RPG. Fully Detailed works are something I enjoy and that's mostly because of the profiles I usually create.

I've been working on my massive project for almost 11 or more years. I have to say, its nice you give yourself 100% or not even bother with the RP, since its better to embroil yourself in the rp instead of being distracted a lot. Guardian Ascension, will be nice when it is completed. I hope you complete that massive project of yours. :)

Yeah, I honestly find the really big and extensively detailed projects to be the ones that I'm more interested in. I mean, I can enjoy something simple, but as a general rule I always tend to be complex and in-depth with my own work. Also, my project's bound to be detailed, because it's 'literary fiction'. The amount of data I have for GA is actually sort of insane, considering there's thousands (possibly tens of thousands) of notepads of unsorted information for me to organize currently, and a lot of it's been lost or corrupted due to technology screwing with me.

If you like detailed projects, you might want to at least take a look at the GRG project I'm running on this site (the one that's loosely connected to GA). Even though barely any of the information has been revealed in the thread yet, it's very easy to see why I might not have time for other role-plays due to that one I'm running.

As for giving 100% with role-plays, yeah, I just don't think there's a point doing something in general if you're gonna half-arse it.

Yeah, I technically joined this site to take a break from my project after technology made me lose a lot of data, but now I'm more or less using this site as a means to boost my morale and help me actually work on it again. I didn't even know if I'd stick around, and a lot of things almost made me leave, but I've met some decent people here.

Just so you know, some of the better friends from my old GA role-playing forums actually became members on this site after I joined, and they're all part of GRG now.

@Shoryu Magami That's nice, I joined this site 3 years ago, just because I used to be apart of it. And I usually just lurk most of the time, though @CrazyShadowy's Asbasta RP got me interested so I came back since I need to recharge my batteries and think of something else to do instead of constantly uhh, I guess the only thing I can say or a reference to is like grinding XP in a MMO. lol

I am also taking a break from playing video games for awhile since yeah, I play them too much and I can stay up playing them for hours on end... when it involves one of my favorite genres aka Strategy.

I know the feeling, considering sorting through the data for my project is very 'grind for XP' tedious too. For all intents and purposes, I'm doing it from the moment I wake up until the moment I sleep, every single day.

With gaming, I sort of do it on and off, since I've also got a tendency to get too obsessed, yeah. I mostly play JRPGs, TJRPGs, and fighting games, but I also like some other types of genres if the games themselves interest me. Like the stuff I mentioned previously with picking a role-playing genre, I'm extremely picky with games too. I'm a chess player, so I can appreciate strategy.

@Shoryu Magami I like Real Time Strategy the most until it was ruined... by Evil Arts. My favorite gaming series destroyed because they wanted to copy Warhammer 40k 2. Ugh, I wanted Command & Conquer Generals 2 so badly but Evil Arts destroyed that dream too.

I can stand JRPGs even though I haven't really been playin' them lately. The grind for me is to complete the profiles, then I can do the worldbuilding, then etc. Though that's a long way off. lol

Right, makes sense that the profiles take a while. I can't do that part until my data is sorted.

I mostly play JRPGs for the story/music/setting/characters/et cetera, not the game-play, because I find them all insanely easy. When I want to use strategy, I play fighting games or chess (I'm actually considered quite high level at both of them, and I've taught other people how to play fighting games at tournament level).

@Shoryu Magami That's a pretty nice skill set. And yeah, the JRPGs have great music in them. All of the Final Fantasy Games are classics in their own right mostly because of the music.

I just usually play a Grand Strategy game like, Stellaris, HoI4, EU4, etc. Since there's very few great RTS' left. I can play one of those games I listed like 12+ hours. And then I fall asleep. lol

Because why not? Its in my nature most of the time to deeply invest in a game aka play it for hours on end.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of OSTs, and I find JRPGs often have some of the best stuff.

I admittedly don't think I'm familiar with any RTS games, since most of the 'strategy' games I've played before are TJRPGs, although a few games I've played had mild RTS elements added into them (one of the games in the Suikoden series, for example).

Back in the old days (I'm ancient by role-player standards) I used to grind pretty heavily on whatever game I played, but now I'm too busy to really invest more than fifteen minutes at a time. I've been building up a large backlog of games for the last decade or so that I plan to sit down and play... 'eventually'. Lol.

Yeah, it's cool to meet other people who've got something big in the work. Honestly, mine's insane how extensive it gets, which is why I need to organize all the data before it becomes too much. I've admittedly got more data than any ordinary person could ever handle, and it's worth keeping in mind that the vast majority of it's stored in my head.

Anyway, we should probably take it easy on the OOC. Admittedly, I seem to 'take over' any thread I become a part of, but I'd rather not make this OOC derail off of the role-play, since that's not fair to Shadow. We can keep talking over PM, or you're welcome to use the hang-out thread that's linked in my signature -- it pretty much exists for this sort of talk.

I feel like I shouldn't post here too much unless I commit to joining.

Lol, yeah, I mean it all depends on whether or not I can get around the fact that it's not the sort of setting I work with generally. I'll also need to create a character that holds my interest, which usually takes a bit. I like to let a character sit with me for a while to confirm they hold my interest, and I do that before even writing them up. Overall, I'm very iffy about joining up with role-plays.
