Personality:

JJ is a happy go lucky guy that loves to sing and dance. Despite the events that had led him to where he is now, he remains positive and tries his best to cheer up those around him.

History:

JJ was born and raised in South Korea. He had always dreamt of being a star and at the age of 15 went to an audition where he was immediately signed up. He was sent to training for two years and was scheduled to make his debut on stage after he had finished taking an English course in the United States. He flew to America at the age of 18 to study Enlgish. He passed his English proficiency exam after a year and was about to fly back to his country when catastrophe struck. He would've been one of the casualties if he had not crossed paths with a military personnel who was trying to save as much people as he can. He was one of the last to make it to the bunker before it was sealed. Moments later, the asteroid struck.

A year later, he stepped out of the bunker. Horrified that people were dying within hours of exposure to the ravaged lands, he prepared himself for the inevitable. He didn't die as he had expected but he felt the changes start.

Power:

Fire Manipulation and Generation

Abilities:

JJ has the ability to control any fire within his immediate range of vision, causing it to increase or decrease in intensity or to move in a pattern directed by his thoughts. He can also generate fire by heating up his body through physical activity like running or dancing (He prefers dancing). Additionally, he is able to absorb fire into his body with no detrimental effects.

His ability to ignite himself is limited by the quantity of oxygen in his environment, and his personal flame has been extinguished by sufficient quantities of water, flame retardant foam, and vacuum environments. He can reignite instantly once oxygen is returned, with no ill effects.

Weakness:

Large quantities of water can extinguish his flames and cause him injury.

The amount of heat he can generate is dependent on how rested he is. Generating heat also tires him out, making him an easy target.

Extra or Miscellaneous information

He thinks about his family and hopes that they had survived the catastrophe. Although there's a big chance that they all perished, he still hopes for the best.

Think of the Flash he doesn't need anything extra to breath and the powers they have now will be at full strength there will be no adding to this particular power. I still need this taken out.

Very nice, just make sure you don't push too hard on the "nudging" people still have the ability to ignore his nudges. The powers they get are at FULL strength. The issue is learning how to use and control them. It should make for some interesting and funny situations I think. :)

I love it. I have this picture in my head of him dancing around a campfire and dancing during attacks. Are you sure you want him to have to do something to ignite the fire creation? You don't have to if you don't want to. Although it does add a certain amount of amusement.

Well, the ability to nudge others is planned to be further in the future. After he can stop well, hearing others at will, and also I forgot to mention. With his telepathy, when he first learns, he'll have issues with "leaking" his thoughts to others.

As for nudging, I'm thinking it will be hard to successfully nudge others. Too much and they'll know someone is messing with their mind and put their guards up. Too little, and it has very little effect. Too much can also result in people getting angry and threatening and well, if people know who's screwing with their heads, they're going to go for that person.

If he does it wrong as well, it won't sound like their own thoughts, and that's another way people can realize someone is trying to manipulate their minds. He'd basically have to match the nudge to the person. The wrong type of nudge will put someone's guard up, or make them behave differently than he wants.

By nudge of course, I'm referring to small thoughts added in to try to lead someone's thoughts in the direction he wants. Like a tiny doubtful thought etc.

The unsociable Robert would definitely require a delicate touch. Admittedly, the fact that he could hear thoughts would be an advantage for that.

It's a potential liability, that could make for some interesting hijinks or turn a bad situation into a worse one.

I was thinking that from the beginning, he has the potential to do all those things, but he doesn't know how to control it or use it and isn't aware of the other facets of his power. He doesn't have someone to teach him there might be more, and he's also so confused by all the voices in his head that he isn't able to realize the other facets of his power.

Also, his power is there, but his mind/mental strength isn't enough to use some of the aspects of his power and use of his power will drain him until he practices more. (Grows more efficient/experienced + increases his mental strength and willpower). Step one, however, is definitely getting the voices in his head to stop.

Be an empath! I was considering that route. I know of ways that a powerful empath could be useful, but at first, it will seem less reliable than thought reading. All you know is how someone feels and if you can't block out others feelings entirely (you could, but again, require training), well, you can go crazy in a different way from Robert and turn into a hermit. You would be able to sense out hostile intentions though, and manipulating emotions, turning them back on others, or blasting people with a wave of sheer terror is pretty useful.

@Aeternum Probably won't do empath because they can mimic other peoples powers and thats dangerous. Just look at Sylar from Heroes or just how season 1 of heroes was going with what was happening with Peter.

@alexfangtalonMimic other people's powers? I don't recall anything like that from what my knowledge of an empath is. An empath simply is a type of psychic who can sense emotions and potentially project/manipulate emotions.

Oh wait, I think there's also the possibility of feeling what another feels and perhaps being able to manipulate physical sensations too. (i.e. numb the pain for the dying but with the effect of having to feel the same pain they feel until you numb their pain)

@Aeternum My knowledge on an Empath comes from the show Heroes. They can do all the things you mentioned, but they could also mimic the emotions and feelings someone has when using their powers and therefore mimic the powers as well.

@alexfangtalonWell, the empaths I have in mind absolutely cannot mimic other powers. Especially in this setting, I'd say. I believe people got their powers from unique changes to their bodies from the "flu"

Also, being able to feel how another feels doesn't mean you can do the same thing. Otherwise anyone would be able to become a superhero or read minds if they know how it feels. Which imo is ridiculous. If you feel how it feels to be crushed to death, doesn't necessarily mean you will be crushed to death. If you can feel the same sort of burn as a top athlete, it doesn't mean you are performing like that athlete.

It wouldn't be mind control at all though. It's nudges. I.e inserting a small thought or series of thoughts to try to guide a person in the direction you want. Besides, I'm not entirely sure Robert will even make it that far in development. Just figuring out how to shut out the voices seems difficult enough for me at the moment.

Mimicking powers through experiencing feelings doesn't make sense at all to me, honestly. It's just the ability to empathize i.e. feel how another feels up a few magnitudes. That sounds more like a mimicry ability to me.

Then again, my understandings of empaths all came from a book series that began before I was born.

I think Sylar had Intuitive aptitude. Which allowed him to analyze complex systems. With that, he was able to analyze evolved humans abilities and copy them which is why he cut their heads open and analyze their brain to find the trigger of their power and somehow copy the ability they have.

Apparently what Sylar has is from taking the empathic ability from an empath. He's not an empath though, or at least, he wasn't. As @King Tai said, Sylar's actual ability was intuitive aptitude according to the heroes wiki
