Psychology & History
From detailed inspection and investigation by ANBU and medical personnel“Is there a point to this interrogation?”| Personal biography: |
Idarama graduated from the shinobi academy in Uzushiogakure with high marks only a few days short of his tenth anniversary of his birth. But life would not be idyllic for long as the celebration would be the final positive memory in his life from thereon.
Several weeks after the tenth anniversary of his birth, a lingering darkness overcame the Uzumaki Clan— a tone that was painted in blood when his cousin, Uzumaki Atsuko, returned from her active duty as a Jōnin-Sensei… without the rest of her squad. The reports of the reasons for what she did during the day that would become known as the Uzumaki Massacre is shrouded in mystery and ignorance but the one thing that is clear is that Uzumaki Atsuko killed her clan outright; the only survivors being the children under the age of eleven and Sarutobi Midori. Idarama still doesn’t remember what happened or why, even with his attempts to recollect it to find answers.
The only thing he remembers is one sentence Atsuko whispered to him, covered in crimson— “Chaos. Panic. Fear. It’s what they wanted, it’s what they deserved.”
Following the massacre there were only two survivors; Sarutobi Midori and Uzumaki Idarama. Realizing the blow dealt to Uzushiogakure and her beliefs that she couldn’t protect her son or her village given the hand they had been dealt, Idarama’s mother took her son and fled to her birthplace in what came to be known as Idarama’s second home— Konohagakure. Though it would take many years for the now sullen and shaken Idarama to adapt to his new surroundings, he found kinship and some degree of temporary peace from within the leaf village and even found a renewed sense of purpose after his Jōnin-Sensei offered him a new sense of purpose. In the end he remembered that no matter the harrowing experience he suffered and the abhorrent winter that he was still a shinobi and to never forget that fact.
To the uneducated Idarama seems completely cold and unfeeling, though this much is not really correct. While Idarama retorts frequently with deadpan snark and remarks that reek of depressive nihilism he does still “feel” despite all of the ways he tries not to.
He is contemplative of the meaning of life and the meaningfulness of what he considers a fatal existence— a big difference from the optimistic and thoughtful young man he was before the Uzumaki Massacre six years ago. As such Idarama has reclused into a shell of doubt, cynicism, and dread— but for those he cares about in Konohagakure he still shows an immense will as he will stand up for others well-being even when the odds are against him, which as a generally analytical cynic seems like a contradiction, and defend them until he can’t any longer. The death of his family has led him come to the belief that even if the world is an endless void he cannot be responsible for being too weak to protect others ever again. | Family biography: |
The Uzumaki Clan is the founding clan of Uzushiogakure, the Village Hidden by Whirling Tides, and has been a significant ninja clan since pretty much their inception. They were/are masters of fuinjutsu and some main branch members were said to have possessed the affinity of wood release if they bore water nature chakra.
The majority of the clan was murdered by Uzumaki Atsuko six years ago. The survivors were either adopted or retreated to distant relatives on their maternal side of the family. Since they were effectively eliminated the village’s ruling clan is now the Hozuki Clan.

| Dreams and fears: |
Uzumaki Idarama lives for few things, but he knows a responsibility to carry on the spirit of the Uzumaki Clan is his to bear and likely his alone. Despite that, he does have dreams and aspirations as he believes it colossally stupid to presume you shouldn’t be ready for what lies ahead— essentially believing the mantra of “If you aren’t prepared for the future, it will overtake you eventually.”
With this in mind Idarama wants to somehow restore Uzushiogakure’s hope knowing full well the village is struggling to recover in the Uzumaki Clan’s absence. In many ways he knows he is the child of two villages and that he will have to attend to both their interests as he gets older. Additionally, the case of restoring the clan is often on his mind; to which he has no idea how he is going to achieve it when he is so socially awkward and apathetic towards romance.
His fears are pretty much obvious, however.
The creator of his suffering still lives to this day, living as a missing-nin and kinslayer somewhere on the fringes of the world. The fact an Uzumaki can exist with such anarchic beliefs and evil in their soul worries him and he is very afraid that the damage they could unleash on the world will be more than he can repair. As a man of thought and meticulous study he can’t even understand how someone could do critical actions for what seems to be incomprehensive reasons. It collides with one of his deepest fears— when and if he fights his cousin in the future, will he be able to? or will he become another casualty? It is one of the reasons he fights defensively and not aggressively.

Combat Reports
From detailed reports from previous missions and academy sparring matches“Let’s not waste each other’s time.”| Fighting style: |
Painted as an analytical prodigy by Uzushiogakure’s standards, Idarama once held a disinterest towards his clan’s affinity towards sealing techniques and now that the majority of them are dead there really is nobody to mentor him in that fact. Arguably Idarama’s focus is ninjutsu as evident from his talented grasp of elemental chakra. With that in mind, he approaches this talent in a defensive manner and due to his distinct level of chakra control he feels he can outlast most of his contemporaries by smarter usage of his chakra levels. Whether this is true has yet to be seen, of course. As far as his actual chakra reserves go it is believed he has exceptional amount available to him— perhaps as a byproduct of his bloodline given the Uzumaki Clan were said to be long-living individuals as a standard.
This isn’t to say he is completely unable to use taijutsu and genjutsu, he just prefers not to bother. Though he would be bluntly honest and tell you he is one of the weakest genjutsu users in Konohagakure and doesn’t see himself grasping it when it is much more imperative to focus on his ninjutsu techniques and taijutsu form.
| Kekkei genkai - bloodline limit: |
Kekkei genkai nameWood Release – Hiden
DescriptionAllows the user to utilize the affinity that is to form, manipulate, and utilize the environment with wood-based chakra techniques.
In the history of the Uzumaki Clan there has only been a small handful of individuals who have unlocked this bloodline affinity, and following the Uzumaki Massacre six years ago there presumably only exists two living members who can— Uzumaki Atsuko and Uzumaki Idarama.
Strengths• Extremely dynamic with a long list of applications on and off the battlefield.
• Spiritually resonant which extensively improves aspects of sealing techniques.
Weaknesses• Only a member with the bloodline that has a water nature can utilize the techniques.
• Weak to chakra affinities that utilize fire, lightning, and metal.
• Generally difficult to control, effectively making those who are skilled with it a rarity.
