[OOC] [Love Less] | In the Game of Love, Everyone Loses

This story takes place in New York, NY and focuses on complete strangers who all share one thing in common: They are incapable of feeling love. Even if a someone’s personality is bubbly and lively, or someone who is a heartbreaker and pimp, they all can’t seem to actually love anyone romantically and feel as if there is a missing puzzle piece to their life. These strangers who share a common problem happen to end up all meeting each other through a mysterious group counseling class. Ever since then, their fates intertwine and like a thread: can be sparse and fragile.
But the journey to find love isn’t always happy and warming. There’s always going to be heartbreak, drama, and suspense. People will get hurt and some might even end up not finding any love at all. Will this crowd with dead hearts find someone that will make it skip a beat?

*** This RP WILL most likely have a pre-determined end point. The story won’t be short but it also isn’t going to drag on forever. I will set up “Chapters” based on the time the story takes place (Christmas arc, New Years, Valentines, etc.) If a continuation after the ending is highly requested, then I will set up a sequel***

Where the story takes place, a bustling city that never seems to sleep.

Love-More Cafe

The cafe where the group counseling meetings & classes are held. Everyone meets here every Tuesday and Thursday nights from 7-9 pm. Main parts of the story will take place here as well as the opportunity to interact with everyone

New York University

A private university with 50,000 students enrolled and over 350 graduate programs and 14 graduate schools. This is where your character attends if they are in college.

• Please respect others, unless it's in the IC and part of the story no fighting.
• This is casual so at least one paragraph is required, no one-liners
• Let me know if you're going to be inactive for a while and we can work something out
• Number of characters is limited to 1 for now
• I will allow for the mention of sex, drugs, cussing and other mature themes but not descriptions of them. But if you want sexy times keep it in the PMs
• Timeframe of the story will stay with the Chapter as we move on to more arcs
• Please keep in mind that the characters are over 19 so it would be unrealistic to post a picture of someone who obviously looks 12

personality: Sonny is soft spoken and often very welcoming. He is impartial to loud and wild things and often panics easily. He likes to paint and read as well as help any strangers along his path. However he is very skeptic and wont trust easily. He is often seen showing hospitality to others and writing in his small journal. He admires music as well and is often lost in his records. The guy can be very excitable is need be but that is very rare.

background: Sonny Lee grew up home to home. He never really had a sense of safety. Though he often ignored the drama his family went through by focusing on school and his guitar. He never knew his father and his mother wasn't around much so he had gained friendship with his grandmother who'm sadly did not love long due to old age. He attended university before dropping out wanting to become an artist. Now he is blindly drifting along with life.



Likes: music, rock and roll, cats, interesting people and intriguing situations, reading and art. Self expression is one of his favorite attributes as well.

Personality: Boisterous and lively, but also reserved and careful during conversation, loves the fast life and being rich, can be down casting towards the impoverished, a party goer.

Backstory

Charles Cusimano grew up in the Bronx to a Latino father and a Caucasian mother.
Even though he was an only child, his family was still poor and struggled through hardship at times.
His father was a garbage man and his mother was a waitress at a local Denny's.
Growing up in a shoddy apartment and watching his parents struggle was a lifelong motivator for Charles to make something of himself.
Even in grade school he pushed himself to achieve only the best grades and perform the best on the schools' sports teams.
All through junior high and high school he was reverted by his teachers and coaches alike for his fine performances in the classroom and on the football field.
His senior year of high school he finished with a 4.0 and a scholarship offer to play football at St.John's in New York.
In the end, he turned this down and went to law school at Harvard and graduated at the top of his class.
To this day he is reaping the benefits of his smart decisions, settling for only the best of everything.
His parents live in Battery Park now on Manhattan, just a few neighborhoods away from Charles.

With the finest house, the best clothes, and the nicest car, many would believe Charles to be a man who has everything.

Charles however doesn't agree.
The one thing he definitely doesn't haves, and has never had, pains him more than the many other things he doesn't have.

That would be true love.

The man has never had a steady relationship, or a girlfriend even.Only one night stands he has had with club skags and college party girls.
Cheap sex followed by never seeing one another again.

This pains him to the core.
He has never felt love for anyone aside from his parents, his family.
He wants to love, he wants to love deeply.
And not being able to stir feelings within himself is killing him internally.
He hates that he is hollow and has an empty heart, and he wants desperately to change it, no matter what.
