Appearance: Seran is rather well built, although not excessively tall. The blood of ancient Valyria runs strong in his veins, like many Lyseni, giving him a rather striking appearance with pale skin, silver hair and blue eyes. Seran has a chiseled jawline, and high cheekbones. He usually keeps his hair very short, almost shy of shaving his entire head. He has a couple of scars on his face from his sellsword trade located in the jaw and forehead. While he usually doesn't make extra effort when grooming, he wears a perfume his sister chose to him, made of fragant lilies.

Equipment: Seran usually wears a rather worn boiled leather armor, complemented with chainmail and a breastplate, since he can't afford a full plate armor (yet). He also wields a worn longsword and shield. He also owns a pot helmet and a shield emblazoned with his personal coat of arms, the Lady of Lys riding atop a dragon. He also carries writing supplies and a diary.
Seran has also managed to repeat the feat Queen Daenerys was known before the Long Night: He successfully hatched and bonded with a dragon from a dragon egg, becoming its rider. The beast, called
Dolor in honor to his dead middle brother is a lackluster young grey dragon, with round features and average size, with white spines alongside the ridge. It has silver eyes. Surprisingly for a dragon, Dolor is rather docile and gentle when not threatened or extremely hungry, although the dragon is also remarkable for its cunning disposition and enjoys toying with opponents and prey.
Skills: Seran has always been a survivor, and as such he has accumulated a wealth of skills over the years with varied fields and purposes. One could say his most defining skill is his quick learning and ability to adapt and climb ranks. Seran has taken good care of culturing his mind, and he's competent in history, geography, diplomacy, strategies and trading. He is fluent in the Lysene dialect, as well as High Valyrian. Forced to take up arms to obtain coin for him and his sister, Seran is good at fighting, although he has no clear style nor preferred weapon, his disposition being a crude mishmash of several stances and styles. Seran will go as far as using his legs and head as weapons. It gets the job done, but he'd be hard pressed to win any tournament against the best swords of the kingdom, as highly skilled specialists can trumph him easily in competitions. Seran has taken care in forging a strong bond with
Dolor, and whenever both take wing, they fight rather competently.
Biography: Seran, alongside his younger brother Doloran and his sister Lysara were born from two merchants, although it was far from a happy union. Seran's mother came from an old but empoverished house of Lys, who arranged a marriage with a wealthy wine merchant for a large dowry, a fact that the merchant reminded the haughty woman constantly. He treated her harshly, more like a pillow slave rather than a proper wife, and Seran himself recalls a time he almost strangled her when he found out that Doloran had been born crippled from the waist down, and would never walk in his life. Seran however, like many Lyseni, learnt quickly to hide his true feelings behind a complacent smile, all while the fiendish figure of his own father made sure to break his image of the world and relating how ugly people truly were. Beneath his obedient nature, his heart ached for his mother and brother, and he became jaded to the suffering of others as a result of keeping up with the grief. He nevertheless helped his younger, less fortunate brother in every way he could, for he was the only person he could unconditionally trust in this world.
When Lysara was born, the suffering of her mother abruptly ended, as her life was extinguished the same day she was delivered. Despite all the harsh treatment, something inside the old man broke, as Seran noticed how his ruthless yet efficient approach to business became more and more erratic with each passing day, spending large sums in courtesans and often arriving so drunk at the household he could barely stand. Seran tried to shoulder the burden of the man's mishaps in order to support both of his siblings, but he could do very little but watch the family's wealth trickle little by little. Eventually, the situation got so bad that Seran's father wanted to find comfort in the 10-year old Lysara's body during his drunken frenzy after losing the last of his wealth. Seran could not abide by this, so he used his savings, and that of Doloran's, to pay some sellswords to teach him to fight, so he could perform the deed with his own hands.
He didn't succeed. Not for lack of trying, but because someone beat him to it. When he arrived to the household, sword in hand, his father was agonizing over his own vomit, as a scornful Lysara watched the poisoned man breathe his last. "He was a bad man, brother." She said to him, breaking in tears soon afterwards. Seran took his other two siblings after the fateful event, and fled from the city, taking refuge among where the outcast of Essos went: The mercenary companies.
It wasn't an easy task to bring forth a crippled youth and a young girl alongside a couple of able arms to a company, but thanks to the bargaining skills of the trio they succeeded in some sort of understanding. Seran would serve in the frontlines, Doloran, who had done nothing but read and write in his life, would be help in accounting, appraising and classifying spoils and rewards, and Lysara would help with the campament's chores, by helping the wounded and providing food.
One day, a map landed in the company's hands, and upon inspection, Doloran determined it was geniune. The map pointed to a bountiful cache of Valyrian goods, like dragon eggs and valyrian steel, but it was situated in the remains of the Valyrian Peninsula. Seran took part in that expedition, as greed trumphed common sense. Success was achieved, but at a cost. Nine tenths of the expeditionary mercenaries had perished, but the few who survived brought an entire ship full of Valyrian relics, and several dragon eggs. As one of the survivors, Seran had his share of the spoils, and chose a single gray dragon egg as a gift for his sister. Others in the company had cravings and resent for the treatment the young woman was being given, and more than one had been smitten by her blossoming Lysene beauty. They tried to take her by the force, but a timely intervention by Doloran twarthed their efforts.
Doloran was himself mortally wounded, and both siblings fleed once again, frantically searching for any measure to keep their middle brother alive. They found help in the most obscure of places: A
maegi. When the terrible price was stated, Seran and Lysara argued on who should give their life to save his brother, each sibling offering theirs. Doloran, in his deathbed had a revelation. He asked the maegi to take his life... and bring forth life to the dragon egg.
Doloran passed away. And Dolor was born. Heartbroken, Seran led the now infant dragon and his sister into hiding, wandering the cities of Essos and making no small efforts in hiding the fact that they had a dragonling. Eventually, the creature grew so big it was able to lift both of them into the air, and Seran decided it was time to formulate a new plan for his life. Go to Westeros where the other dragonriders were, and offer his services to the highest bidder.

Skills: Lysara has always taken the role of the gentle soothing hand in a world of violence. She always keeps her composture and she is no stranger to the arts of Lys, both the loving arts...as well as the poisoning ones. She is a good singer, an excellent diplomat and information broker, a hard bargainer and an outstanding healer, in those rare cases people get hurt in her presence.SHe is fluent in several Valyrian dialects, as well as High Valyrian. She also knows some cooking and alchemy. Lysara is also a ruthless planner, and has taken the niche spot of Doloran in the original trio, often being the actual mind behind his brother's schemes. She is also skilled in dragon handling, and a little known fact is that Dolor would choose her rather than her brother if the beast ever had to pick one of the siblings.
Biography: Lysara was born the third child of a broken household. From an early age, her mother was missing as she had died in childbirth, and his father was more eager to find love bought with coins than actual parenting. Young Lysara was cared for, alright, but woefully neglected. She only found small comfort in her two brothers, her eldest Seran, and Doloran. Being bound to the household because of his inability to walk, Doloran was the one who kept young Lysara's hopes up, as the sibling kept reading and teaching Lysara of tales of old and new. Lysara, much like Doloran, believed that her mother's household line came straight from Valyrian aristocracy, and that once upon a time, their ancestors had ruled the Freehold alongside the well-known Targayens. Such a fairytale kept her hopes up, all while her father kept wasting their money and her eldest, Seran had become aloof and strained, trying to pick up the lack of management of their father.
Lysara begun to resent her own father in secret, and she eventually came across the old Lysene arts of deceit and poisoning. When the greedy pig tried to touch her, she had already began plotting his demise. Yes, that would make everyone happy. Seran and Doloran. She thought it was the right thing to do. But, when the deed was done, she didn't find comfort. Only sadness. As the old man struggled for his last breath after sipping a poisoned cup of wine, Lysara was brought to tears. Truthfully, she regretted killing that man. She could've tried other things. But now it was too late.
Fortunately, or unfortunately, Seran took both siblings into hiding. Lysara, alongside Doloran, vowed eachother they would always help Seran, no matter what. Their efforts had to be redoubled when Seran negotiated joining a certain mercenary company, but Lysara's acid remarks and Doloran's quick thinking overcame the obstacle... for a time. Lysara was then introduced to the ungrateful life of a camp woman, and while learning the healing arts as a net benefit (as another pair of nimble small hands was always welcome to stitch wounds and clean sores was always welcome), she found increasingly hard to keep her act and demure with the crass and brutish behaviour of the other mercenaries. Knowing full well that she had everything to lose should things become physical, she used instead her sweet demeanor and extracted information to get leverage from said mercenaries, aided by Doloran when doing so. Her chastity was safe for now, but grudges began to appear, and eventually it all exploded in a huge mess when she asked for one of the dragon eggs that a certain Valyrian expedition had brought.
She couldn't help it, the egg was truly marvelous, and even the level headed Doloran claimed it seemed more than it met the eye. Others thought it was petrified, but she could see it was somehow alive. But the price of that egg ended up being too costly as Doloran received a nasty wound in the gut while he interposed himself between his sisters and the would be marauders that wanted both woman and egg. With her knowledge of healing arts, she knew he was beyond help. Seran, bless his soul, carved a bloody path through the now hostile mercenaries, and they all three managed to get out and maintain Doloran alive enough to find a
maegi. The old crone, much to their relief, could help Doloran, but at the price of either Seran or her life. Feeling guilty, she wrestled with her other brother who should be the sacrifice.
It was then when the middle child remembered a story on how to bring dragon eggs to life...and decided to stake what was left of his life into it. Lysara would always remember his smile, on how he, crippled from birth, could realize one of the fairy tales he was so fond of. Lysara's heart was split apart, very much like Seran. But when the dragon hatchling appeared before her, she couldn't help but treat the little creature as her own brother reborn. She took the monumental task of raising it exclusively, using the old things that her brother had taught her about Valyria as reference.
Knowing that one day they couldn't hide the creature, Lysara reluctantly agreed to ride Dolor, whom she had raised, to where dragons flocked, perhaps to better assert their own position and ward off potential assasins who would want to seize the dragon for themselves.
