He awoke with the sound of his head thumping. What had he done the night before? He could taste the remnants of alcohol on his tongue and it sickened him. Slowly he looked to the side and was thankful that he hadn't brought anyone home with him. He sighed slowly moving the covers from his naked form and placing a firm hand on the side of his head. Cursing softly, he swung one leg over the side of the bed followed by the other until he was in an upright position. He couldn't believe it. He had survived an entire week in Miami. The first couple of days was a mixture of excitement and annoyance. He had already made an enemy and the bad thing about it was that he didn't really know why. He had a crush on someone who barely knew he existed either that or the guy was a very good actor. The only good thing about this trip was that he had met some pretty cool people.
His shower was soothing, though it wasn't as hot as he normally liked it. It helped with his headache, but he needed something to eat and some coffee. He didn't want to see anyone today, but he knew that was inevitable considering he lived in a house with eleven other people. Turning to the mirror, he observed his body from head to toe. He noticed the slight imperfections and simply smirked. The scar that ran across his chest from a bar fight was a reminder of how crazy he could get when he drank a little too much. Nevertheless, he was satisfied with his appearance and after drying his hair and curling it he was ready for the rest of the day. He still couldn't believe it had been a week already, and yet he was wondering if he could make it to the final day of this adventure. He'd seen the show on TV plenty of times so he knew there was going to be some drama, but he was trying his hardest not to get involved. It was hard, to say the least, at least for him. Growing up he wasn't really the type to keep his mouth shut.
Sighing, he pulled on a
pair of black lounge pants, no underwear, and
a black tank top that revealed a little too much, but it fit his personality very well. He was a free spirit and it showed in everything he did and the outfits he wore. Today was a lounge day and he could feel it in every muscle in his body. Still, something in him could feel the impending house trip that was bound to happen at some point. He yawned after brushing his teeth and gargling his mouth, yet still, he could taste the bitterness of liquor from the night before.
"I seriously need to stop drinking," he commented as he applied lotion to the remaining body parts and proceeded towards the kitchen where the smell of bacon and eggs was coming from. As he entered the living room, he caught sight of everyone that had gathered in the kitchen. Christine, Evelyn, Garrett, Ally and his crush the guy that made him smile every time he saw him, Ambrose. He tried to avoid eye contact with Ambrose as much as humanly possible. From what he could see Ally and Garrett were eating hot food while Evelyn chose cold cereal. Ambrose was drinking coffee, at least that is what Caleb believed was in the cup after all he was aware that Ambrose liked his coffee in the morning. Sighing he smiled as best he could still trying to avoid eye contact and entered into the kitchen where he grabbed some orange juice and a banana while looking at Ally and Garrett stuff their faces. His eyes fell on Casimir and for a moment he scowled, but he fixed his face and avoided any type of contact with him.
"Smells good," he said as he took a seat midway between Garrett and Ambrose. Casimir mentioned that his ancestors would haunt him if he ate bacon and Caleb spoke rather boldly,
"well someone needs to haunt you," before he realized that what he said was rude and uncalled for. Nevertheless, he continued sipping his orange juice.
"Good morning by the way," he said loud enough for everyone to hear though it wasn't particularly directed at any individual person, he just felt like saying it so that no one could say he didn't say it. He peeled back the banana and slowly bit into the fruit. He was sure his revealing outfit didn't go unnoticed, but it was better than walking around naked or with just underwear on. He was sure he'd scared plenty of them during the week they'd lived together.
"So do any of you have plans for today?" he asked after eating half of the ripe banana. His question was directed to Ashanti, Ally, Christine, Evelyn, and Garrett. He couldn't bring himself to ask Ambrose as he was sure another excuse would come. Cold and distant, Caleb believed wholeheartedly that this was Ambrose's motto. When Caleb looked up at Evelyn, he smiled. The girl was like a little sister and he did his best to protect her. It's funny how quickly she'd grown on him and they were only a year apart in age if that. Still, she seemed so innocent and so out of place here that he didn't want her trip to be ruined by drama and isolation so he went out of his way to joke around with her, to try and bring her out of her shell.
