I wiped my bank account on the only available hotel room in the next town, and now I'm forced to use a 3G transmitter for internet usage. @Gunther I LIVE IN THE UNITED GODDAMN STATES, BUT MY CITY IS SO LOW-PRIORITY, NO ONE CARES. Seriously, they've been trying to get FEMA down here to check things out, and now we're trying to get the CDC to come down, because there's a problem with the water purification plant, and the city water is contaminated with something. We've been trading now-worthless possessions for bottled water and food, and frankly, I have no other place to live, so I'm just dealing with it. Crime rate has jumped, and in my opinion, we're two weeks away from martial law. Personally, I blame Trump for his needless spending on his wall. All that money could have gone to REPAIRING MY HOMETOWN.

I know that sometimes bombarding the state governor's and/or commissioner's office with phone calls will sometimes light a fire under the government agencies' asses -- I work for the NJ state government, and we've often been forced to move fast on calls that came down from the commissioner's office. Let me know if I can try to dig up some numbers for you.

UPDATE: We got some kind of as of yet unidentified military group in here. Might be Marines. Might be National Guard. Hell, might even be Air Force. I'm not experienced with these things. Things are looking up. Oh, and nothing is wrong with the water, apparently. Heard that at about 3:00 this morning.

More than likely it is Army National Guard. They belong to the state and can be ordered into an area by the Governor. Federal troops require special orders from Congress or the President to do anything.

UPDATE: They still haven't identified themselves, but they've got the grid back up. Still no mention of what caused it. Terrorism is presumed. Lots of black vans around, now.

@Gunther If only it was that easy. I have way too many investments here that I need to keep a close eye on if I want to continue the way of life to which I am accustomed. My own fault, I suppose. Sent my wife to my grandparent's home in NC. Once everything clears up, it should go back to normal fairly quickly, god willing.
