@Landaus Five-One Castor doesn't have a visual aura- he just radiates an overwhelming feeling of power and danger. And if someone traces that back to him...
Just had a look through of all the CS's, and I saw you Patron. FFX was the first RPG I ever played and is very near and dear to my heart. So I always love seeing references to it (although it seems like you're drawing from FFXIII a bit for Ixion's vehicle form)
Yeah, FFX is a favorite of mine as well. I'm aware that summons turn to vehicles in FFXIII, but my bigger inspiration came from Lily's need for speed.
Hmmm... Hey, if you roll the wing's perk, and then take the wings mutation, does that count as the 'way to fly naturally' that 'vastly increased speed and manueverability'?
If that's the case! Does it only work that way when you 'also' rolled wings for perk? or does it make getting it in a roll redundant since the wing mutation gives the wing perk 'and' counts as a natural way to fly?
@t2wave Oh snap, you rolled the natural 20 on powers. This brings to mind a Katara-style waterbender with flowing tendrils and stuff. Or you go full Diclonius with invisible mist appendages + incognito for a scary assassin.
I actually wanted to save my rolls to show as well... uuunfortunately, the site I used for them lost record of the rolls when I reloaded my browser and I forgot to put them in the txt with my Characters @x@
Still, does anyone know about the question I asked earlier? >3>
@Shoryu As I read it, it sounded to me like you needed the Flying perk twice to be able to fly freely. So, yes. Wings+wings should do that, unless the GM says otherwise. I say so because my monster-girl in the interest check worked like that.
So, despite my better judgement, I've decided I want to join this. Because I heard that we had a lot of monster-girls, I declared the roll in the interest-check a test-roll and rolled again with intention to stick with it. WHELP, THAT DIDN'T GO MUCH BETTER. ... But I was like "Okay, if I roll that, I might as well go all the way with the theme!" XD
Name: Mariette Pedersen
Name (Before Magical Girl): Lina Herring
Age (Magical Girl): 15
Age (Before Magical Girl): 4 (Horror doesn’t care.)
Gender: Female
Gender (Before Magical Girl): Female
Appearance: Mariette is a tall girl of slender but otherwise average frame. Her hair is long and white straight when transformed, blonde wavy when untransformed. She typically has a calm expression on her face. She tends to dress somewhat extravagantly, her transformed state wears elaborate black dresses while her untransformed self typically also endorsed herself with accessories. She’s often seen squeezing a large stuffed animal in the shape of a rabbit. Her right eye is constantly under an eyepatch, but she hasn’t actually lost it. There is a reason behind this.
Untransformed, she looks like a very regular blonde 15-year old, wearing glasses and regularly overdressing herself in hats and coats as well as generally gazing off into the vast distance with no purpose.
Specialization: Oddball: Portals. Mariette is a master of using portals. She’s immensely powerful with them, too. She can create them in mid-air, in varying sizes, around enemies and in varying kinds of movement. With as high magical power as she has, she can create her portals anywhere within her sight, but she has much greater fine-control of their movement the closer they were created to her. The portals are circular and flat, and lead to another portal of the same size she also has created within her range. The edges of the portals are solid and can be broken to destroy the portals.
With extended focus, she can also create portals to places much further away assuming she knows the location, and with greater use she can even enter alternative pocket-dimensions. She has no desire to leave this world behind, however. Also, if others flees through teleportation or to different worlds, Mariette may be able to follow them. Using a mirror as the base of the portal greatly amplifies the effect and makes rituals for more extreme portalling much easier. There are some major rituals which she can conduct using big mirrors for the sake of Asengav’s goals.
Weapon: Mystic mirror. It’s a simple hand-mirror that she can seemingly summon from nowhere into her hand. It helps creating portals around the area, and Mariette channels her magic through it.
Power: Tentacles. These are sentient tentacles sprouting from anywhere within a certain range around Mariette. These are a blessing given directly from Asengav, and they look pretty much like darkness given form. They’re powerful, regrow if they’re blasted into pieces and are Mariette’s main defense if the enemy tries to strike her in close combat. Herself, she has no ability in the close.
Perks: Gifted - The reason Asengav chose her in the first place. She can do things with her portals that other people perhaps would not be able to. She’s an expert at this. Interdimensional Home - Using her portals, she has set up her own little dimension that she can go to. It’s a nice place to hide, and she can feel comfortable there. There’s food and a view, but she does prefer Joe’s place. Blood Magic - Among other things, she was granted the ability to expand her own life as magic. Mariette will use this if the situation turns deadly. Overcity Shift - If she wants to, she can displace the entire area to a different dimension in the Overcity. There the battle can be conducted without destruction and so. Interdimensional Tourist - It’s Joe. Joe’s an average man with normal job, a stressful life and a licence as an interdimensional tourist. He helps Mariette and the twins out with food and give them a place to stay, for now. He just felt sad for Mariette once, and now he has three girls living off of him… Huh.
(now Emergency, +2 Combat Perks) Hammerspace Handbag - Which actually is a portal of hers. She just reaches into the portal, and she has everything she needs there. Good to have. Allies - Along with her transformation, Asengav saw fit to provide Mariette with two allies that should come in handy. A set of two twinned-souls monster-girls. (Now Gold coin for extra +2 Perks) Awareness - You’d think a girl with one eye would see worse, wouldn’t you? Wrong. There’s something about Mariette that makes her excessively perceptive of things around her, and she just knows. Even when ambushed she seems to be able to block the attacks. Absolute Direction - With destination or object in mind assuming she knows about it in detail, Mariette knows which direction it is. … REALLY useful for a girl that can open long-range portals with enough focus. Bad at finding concepts or nonspecific things.
Patron: A Horror named Asengav. Not really his name, but as best and easiest we can pronounce it.
Patron Benefits: Minions - They’re shaped like men and look like they’ve been drawn with ink, and they’re strong and can lash out at unexpected ranges with stretchy arms. They’re weaker than magical girls, but they can take one by surprise. They can be summoned through Mariette’s portals when Asengav has been kind enough to put them at Mariette’s disposal. Marked - It isn’t a physical mark, but there’s an air about Mariette that just feels cold and alien. Lesser monsters will sense it and flee in terror, as they should against Asengav’s champion. Takes One To Know One - At touch or when eyes meet, Mariette will know another Horror’s champion, and get a rough idea of their Bane if they have one. Retrieval - Asengav has no intention of losing his chosen champion. If Mariette is in trouble and he has a moment to, he’ll strike open a portal and retrieve her before she’s done for. Mystic Might - Asengav has provided Mariette with a bit of extra magical might, and... Mana Font - … he has also given her a small portal in her heart to a great reserve of mana, for her to use as she sees fit.
Patron Drawbacks: Mind-Bent - Mariette is completely unable to not follow the orders of her patron. The very idea of opposing her chief causes an immediate major dose of terror and struggle to keep coherent. If she ever left Asengav’s care, she’d be left a quivering mess in her bed, forever unable to move unless someone bent back her mind. Also, there has been a SERIOUS impact to her personality. Insomnia - Can’t sleep, won’t sleep. She clutches her favorite bunny every night trying to sleep, and she absolutely can’t sleep a wink without it. Bane - Something as simple as a lit wax candle. A lit candle symbolises the hope in the darkness, and it sends Asengav scurrying. Similarly, unlit candles make Mariette uneasy, but lit ones can effectively make her flee in terror. But, they must be kind of small. People holding wax candles will be unaffected by her portals. Also, broken mirrors. A broken mirror cannot be used for rituals, and it sends fear and pain through Mariette to even see one. The greatest tool for her portals, the mirror, can so easily become her bane by merely shattering the mirror. So Mariette has to live. Health Sapping - So much power is poured into Mariette, with the tentacles, minions, and so, that her movements and physical efforts are somewhat blocked.
Fighting Style: First things first. That eye-patch? That’s to ensure her enemies don’t realize her right eye is constantly looking through numerous portals. She switches the location and number of these portals as she needs to, inspecting the battlefield from varying points, gathering information from a bird’s eye view. It’s imperative that a portal-girl is constantly aware of the positions of everyone, after all, and this allows her to widen the range of where she can open portals quickly as she needs vision to open them. The portals are so tiny, you’d never usually detect it, even with awareness. … Someone with the Third Eye likely would, though.
Mariette does not fight in close combat. When she fights, she prefers to do so behind the minions of her patron. From there, she can support them in an excessive amount of ways with her portals. She can create them as shields that then redirect the attacks at her enemies. She can slap a portal onto someone and send them into compromising situations or place them really far away. She can open portals for her attacks to come from unexpected directions.
For actual fighting, Mariette uses her tentacles. They’re strong tendrils of darkness that constantly surround her in battle. They’re strong with plenty of range, but the average magical girl would be able to keep them at bay. … Which is why Mariette often sends them through portals to attack from unexpected angles and from longer range than expected. Portals make no sound as they’re created, after all. She makes them squeeze and crush enemies from afar. In close combat she can also use better fine-control of portals to trap limbs and halt an enemy’s progress. That’s her last defense.
She doesn’t really have much high-power attacks of her own, but her portals are there to ensure the enemy never get close. She likes to team up with Deni & Eli to make them shoot into the skies through her portals or send them into combat supported by portals. She can easily change her own location as well by just walking through a portal herself. But, she’s not fast. Mariette sometimes also risks that enemies try to use her own portals to fire upon her. She simply has to ensure that doesn’t happen. Those are her tactics.
Personality: Mariette carries herself like an extremely calm older girl, her expression remaining neutral and her force remaining intentful. She’s determined to achieve her goals, and may come across as rather arrogant. She’s playful around official matters but merciless in action. She often acts in a creepy way that seems to tell that not everything is all there. However, that isn’t all there is to her. She finds any small animals or stuffed such animal mind-bogglingly adorable. She wants to try every new experience she can notice, from singing to roller-coasters to arcade machines, wearing accessories and going to school, such. She rarely has the money to try anything, however. But, so it is.
Also, good luck trying to scare her. She’s been in contact with Asengav, she won’t even react to what the regular public might think is scary or repulsing. Like someone’s sudden death, or so.
History: There was an emergency. Except, the emergency wasn’t really one which four year old Lina Herring could do anything about. See, she had an abusive father, and she could see the incoming signs the moment she heard him enter the house and start yelling at her mother. So, she fled. Somehow, she managed to escape without father noticing. She fled, and never wanted to return. On that route, she came across an emergency. That is, an emergency for her.
An unspeakable horror dived onto her, enveloping her. Her magical potential must have appealed to him, and with that he took her over and transformed her into the kind of girl he wanted her to be. As far as anyone else knows, Lina Herring either died or was kidnapped that day. It took quite some time, a number of years as the horror was reconstructing her to suit his needs, but one day a girl walked out into the world again. A Magical Girl, significantly older than Lina had been, this one known as Mariette Pedersen. A fake name, of course, but as it is that’s how it goes.
Incantation: In a world without meaning, exists a purpose with destination, and I will see it to its end. The gate is open.
Additional Info: As said before, mirrors help amplify her portal might. This is actually why she wears glasses in her untransformed state. She can, without rousing suspicion, easily make portals in her glasses to look at something from a great distance.
Also, friendly tip. Mariette’s usually really calm, and won’t even bat an eye if you decapitate someone in front of her. But, if you really want to kick a puppy, or harm any small adorable animal, don’t do it in front of Mariette. Hell feels bad for those who do.
Names: Deni and Eli.
Names (Before Magical Girls): Denise & Elizabeth Walton
Age (Magical Girl): 7
Age (Before Magical Girl): 15
Gender: Female
Gender (Before Magical Girl): Female
Appearance: Underdeveloped/Skimpy They’re amorphous harpies. Body-wise they’re absolutely identical, but they’ve put effort into looking different. Deni has used her amorphous properties to give herself a chest, because hilarity and pride. Eli finds that pointless. Both of them however find pleasure in ornaments, wearing them in their hair and clothing. Otherwise, both are short girls whose bodies are largely composed of black jelly that typically are shaped like wings, their eyes looking very creepy and unnatural. … It should also be noted that their jelly is partly see-through and skin-tight, so one can kinda see the shapes of their gelatinous bodies through, which is why it qualifies as skimpy.
Deni to the left, Eli to the right.
When untransformed, Deni still likes to wear little dresses and make herself look pretty. Eli, on the other hand, wears a uniform fit her age to blend in and wears a pair of glasses to further hide herself. Neither has horns or anything monster-like which it looks like in the below image. They look considerably normal for their age.
Eli to the left, Deni to the right.
Specialization: Reinforcement and Darkness.
Reinforcement means the two of them can block attacks with barriers, enhance the items or bodies of others as well as heal wounds. They can remove curses and other negative energies, and in addition their disguised human forms are a bit tough and their words of encouragement have an intoxicating effect.
Darkness means the two of them can shield themselves from detection as they use their wings to glide through the night. They can see in the dark, and make themselves temporarily intangible as well as warp themselves short distances between shadows. They can also place minor curses and negative effects on areas and people.
Weapon: Melee/Ranged. That is, they don’t actually carry weapons. However, they can combine their magic with their amorphous bodies to suddenly form swords, pikes, axes, sharp feathers, guns and similar things, the ranged weapons powered by their own magic to fire. These weapons are not powerful, but the weapons the two can produce this way can be really adaptable to what is need at that moment, and can emerge from any part of their bodies.
Power: Twinned Souls/Third Eye. The only thing that differs between the two magic-wise is their powers. Deni has a mental link to her sister, and can alert Eli to her location once a day and Eli will automatically know where to go. Meanwhile, Eli has a special sight called the Third Eye, allowing her to see the flow of magic, straight through illusions and see traces of past magic having been used in areas. Mariette has use of them both.
Perks: Dual Weapon - The girls have mastered the arts of making ranged weapons out of their amorphous bodies as well as firing these with their mana as ammunition. Wings - They’re fluid harpies. Somehow. They can’t actually fly as well as birds, but they sure can climb, jump and glide around. Martial Training - They’re accomplished in a very wide variety of weapons to go with their ability to form weapons on the go. They’re also quite tactically gifted and could handle commanding armies. Flexibility - They’re fluid and adaptable, amorphous. While they normally look like supported by bones, they can suddenly curve in impossible ways when the current amount of flexibility just didn’t cut it.
Monster Girls: To summarize, they’re amorphous harpies that have wings, yet they’re much more slime-creatures than they are harpies. They make use of this every way they can. Nonstandard Limbs - Their limbs are slimy harpy things. Though, given that their wings are slime, they can still hold things. Devourers - There’s a certain hunger within them, which could make them attack humans if they’re not properly fed with meat. Mariette ensures to always keep a significant amount of meat in her Hammerspace Handbag just in case. Amorphous Body - They’re liquid harpies. Their forms are difficult to injure, their fluids can make their bodies contort when they don’t feel like looking like they do, and so on. There’s a ton of consequences. Second Specialization - Aside from natural Reinforcement, Asengav has given them the gift of Darkness to add to their magical arsenals. The two are very efficient spies, because of this.
Fighting Style: As stated before, they’re amorphous harpies. Compared to other magical girls, Deni and Eli aren’t very powerful, but they’ve got considerable adaptability. Their wings and their fluid bodies allow them to swirl around, and their ability to form hard melee blades or ranged weapons that can shoot out of their bodies can very easily take an enemy by surprise. Being fluid, they’re difficult to hurt and are quite flexible. They dance on the battlefield and take out enemies one at a time.
They don’t necessarily belong on the battlefield alone, though. With Darkness magic, they make sneaky attacks that the enemy don’t see coming as they’ve hidden themselves, and with Reinforcement they can power themselves up to match stronger enemies or heal damage they take. They remove curses from themselves with Reinforcement and then put curses on their enemies with Darkness up close. But, the typical magical girl should be able to fight both of them, they’re not that strong.
When they REALLY become deadly is when they’re matched up with Mariette, with portals on their side. Then they can dive through portals, shoot through portals or be defended by portals, greatly amplifying their effectiveness. Yupp.
Personality: Deni’s an excited person who wants to head out and do things, beat down the head of the one who’s in her way and quickly turns angry if things don’t go her way. Eli’s an apathetic loner who prefers to have everything under control and is shy among people, and would much rather engage her time daydreaming or painting or so, and is fairly accomplished in video-games and has talents Deni never had. This caused a lot of clashes when they were one and the same as Deni forced Eli into situations where Eli had to use her greater skill and focus to get out of trouble Deni put them in, and to counter Eli intentionally put Deni in challenging situations requiring Eli and the two squabbled a lot.
They’re inseparable and love one another now that they’ve got bodies of their own, though. They help each other out and can now let the other do as they please while they themselves take things in their own speed. Too bad about that deal with Asengav, though.
History: Something went very wrong when Denise Walton was born. Because, somehow, she was born with two consciousnesses in her mind, which switched often. To make things easier, the other personality was called Elizabeth. They were two personalities in one body. Not unheard of, but they were constantly messing up for one another as one was shier than the other. The years went by, and there didn’t seem to be any way to solve this. The two girls in the same body felt panicked, and prayed to the heavens out of stress that something would come and solve their predicament. Unfortunately, something heard them.
Asengav approached them, feeling that the two personalities had been caused by a considerable base of mana. He offered them a way out, and they agreed. Deni and Eli were then formed, split in two and given half the age of each, and they’ve been trained to follow Asengav’s commands and now follow Mariette on her mission. As simple as that.
Incantation: Deni - Fate and cruelty, envelop our reality, guide the way to inevitable destruction! Deni! Here I go! Eli - Love and passion, squander our lives, make us fight for meaningless ambitions! Eli! Here I go!
Both - Fate and Cruelty, Love and Passion, Envelop Our Reality, Squander Our Lives, Guide the Way, Make Us Fight, To Inevitable Destruction, For Meaningless Ambitions! Deni and Eli! Here we go!
Additional Info: They have quite different interests. Deni can sometimes be seen in the park or in school playgrounds, playing with the kids around because it’s fun, and then perplex teachers as that’s not their kid. Eli can sometimes be seen in arcades owning the heck out of anyone challenging her or her high-score, and she’s totally calm and cool about it, too. Deni laments that her body’s perpetually 7 years old, she can’t seduce guys like this. Eli’s totally fine with this, and privately wants to make it big as a competitive gamer or an author. Deni will happily remind that becoming famous in their condition would be a terrible idea. Eli then gets depressed.
Type: Horror
Name: Unpronounceable, but we call him Asengav.
Patron Benefits: Creeping Doom - Cannot attract extreme attention. He has a carefully laid out plan, and it’s going to be executed, one step at a time. They’re less likely to be lethal and uncompletable for Mariette. Reasonable - As disturbingly horrifying as he is, Asengav is reasonable. He has been watching humans and magical girls for a long time. He knows how to blend in. He can even take the form of a human to hold a simple conversation. He does not intend on destroying the world, thank god, because he probably could. Retrieval - Asengav has invested a lot in his champions. If they find themselves in trouble, he can reach out through a portal and bring them back into safety. He can, that is.
Patron Drawbacks: Quick-Tempered - He’s only reasonable up to a certain point. Mess up a single part in his carefully laid-out plan… and watch the nightmares overcome you. Big Brother - ‘YOU AREN’T ASSOCIATING WITH ANY NEW “FRIENDS” THAT MIGHT TRY TO TURN YOU AGAINST ME, ARE YOU…?’ … Asengav keeps close watch of his champions… He’s invested in them, after all… Empty Pockets - Soooooooo, as terrifyingly powerful as he is, Asengav has no need for riches. He expects those who follows him to do so due to what might happen to them if they don’t. Bane - A simple lit wax candle keeps Asengav from affecting an area. If he’s after you, you’re pretty much dead… if there aren’t lit wax candles inside your house. He avoids those. The smell of burnt wax… it repulses him… Also, a broken mirror. It sends shivers through him. Can’t be used. Trying to use a broken mirror for portalling is like trying to press through a corridor of razor-sharp blades.
Personality: Asengav’s a perfectionist horror. It has a master-plan in place, and it will follow it to the letter. As for the rest… who really knows. He’s very calm for a monstrosity that can drive you insane with his mere presence. When he peeks at the world, he often does so through mirrors. They somehow work well with his dimensional magic. So if you glimpse something that really, REALLY shouldn’t be there in the mirror, but look again and it isn’t there… it is quite possible Asengav might have been watching you.
History: For all we know, this horror simply was. One might claim it was somehow formed when countless dark sorcerers from a hundred billion realities committed the same atrocious dark ritual in the same location in many universes, sending all the magical energy spiraling into one location in the multiverse and bringing a horrific entity to life… but that’d just be theorizing, because nobody knows. What we do know, is that its name is unpronounceable. We know it can travel through dimensions at will, and is investing into monsters and girls in many, many different alternate versions of the same reality, influencing each in a tiny way to tip them all away from one another and then watch to see what happens.
As for what he wants with this reality… … … … … Who really knows…?
Resources: An important thing to note about Asengav is that he has invested in many different dimensions, throughout multiple different possible realities. While in the world which Mariette wanders she and her two allies are his only agents, across the multiverse he has many, many more monsters and minions doing their work.
And, um. Asengav does have coins, but you’re expected to work for him because you’ll die if you don’t. You know the skill, Absolute Direction? Yeah. Asengav… has that. Across multiverses. You do not escape Asengav if he has decided to hunt you. And, honestly, he can do much worse things than simply kill you. Muuuuuuuch worse.
One thing he does provide is giant mirrors for the sake of some of the rituals that he wants his followers to conduct for him. They greatly amplify his power, after all.

Because allied monster girls, no coins to spend on them. Alright, then.
I'm taking a few liberties here, like with my Oddball powers and with my patron powers, the age which she was picked up at and with what the Twinned Souls thing meant for my ally, so if there's ANYTHING in here that I cannot do, tell me immediately. I did intentionally invest everything in magic to ensure I had as much leeway into the possibilities of the Oddball specialization I decided on. That I rolled primarily magic things was a bonus. Hahaha.
... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
Though, I made a character out of the girl I rolled in the interest-check, too. Can I put her in reserve? She might be fun, too.
Name: Leanna Mabel Thornton. She likes to introduce herself as the “Maple Dragon”.
Name (Before Magical Girl): Caroline Angie Wilson.
Age (Magical Girl): 7
Age (Before Magical Girl): 44
Gender: Female
Gender (Before Magical Girl): Female
Appearance:
Except, tiny. 7 years old, underdeveloped. Also, instead of jet-engines strapped onto everywhere, she has many small dragonfly-esque wings coming out of most of the limbs on her body (like the jet-engines), and they provide enough lift to make her able to fly freely. She also has a little red jewel on her throat, because she can’t have it anywhere else on her body.
Except 7 years old, once again. This one looks at least 12. Heh.
Specialization: Reinforcement.
As an accomplished Reinforcement magician, Leanna commonly uses barriers to block any shots she cannot dodge and enhances herself before any battle if she can. She can also place wards on objects and places, heal injuries or remove status ailments and curses. She’s pretty much the girl described in the official description of Reinforcement girls, as at 12 MAG she’s powerful enough to do all of that.
A reinforcement natured magical girl can create powerful wards and shields to protect herself and her allies. She also gains access to the most potent healing spells and utilities that remove status ailments and curses. She has no offensive spells, but does gain top class enhancement spells to boost herself and her allies. They will usually depend on their allies or physical attacks to damage their opponents. Reinforcement users tend to become more altruistic. Skilled reinforcement girls can place protective wards on objects or places that last for many years. And can purify areas or people, removing negative energies. Out of costume they are surprisingly durable (+1 VIT while out of costume) and their words of encouragement have strong effect.
Weapon: The Draco-Blasters. For all intents and purposes, they’re two slightly larger than recommended handguns. They combine in strange ways to give Leanna a variety of guns to match her knowledge in arms, like she can put one into the mouth of the other and wield it like an assault-rifle and it’ll act like one. They can fire really rapidly, although the more rapidly the weaker the shots will be. On the other end, she can charge up for more powerful shots if she spends a moment focusing mana into the guns, which will make their ends glow a bit brightly warning of the incoming shots.
Power: Power of Friendship and Killing Blow. ENFORCE - Leanna summons all her available magical power and applies it to one person, who could be herself. That person will immediately be healed of all injuries, be covered in draconic scales and get some large temporary wings along with instincts of how to use them, as well as have loads of loads of mana that they cannot contain. They must immediately use this mana to do a single, extremely powerful attack, or the power will simply shoot out of them in all directions like a small bomb since they cannot contain it, probably hurting them in the process. After usage the scales and wings will disappear.
Power of Friendship - Leanna somehow carries a natural charm that makes people like her, unnaturally. She also gets magical hints as to how she should behave in order to make a friend out of someone. Pretty much as is described in the official description.
You have an instinctive sense of when people are sad, how to cheer them up, and how to get in their good graces. People tend to think the best of you, give you multiple second chances, and will generally try to help you. You can gain allies and contacts easily with a bit of extended conversation and sometimes some risky action can even bring some monsters to respect you or cease preying on humans. Sadly, not everyone will be your friend, but with this power you will instinctively know how to befriend anyone who could be your friend. This works even out of costume.
Perks: Monstrous Metamorphosis - If emotionally disturbed or if her desire to devour becomes too great, Leanna will transform into a full dragon. Her strength, speed and toughness will all be boosted, her body encased in scales and she’ll start to roar, in exchange for her ability to reason. However, beware that her instinctively tactically sound mind will still be active, it’ll just be operating from the perspective of a hungry predator. Martial Training - Leanna has been in the army, and becoming a magical girl somehow expanded on her already existing knowledge. She’s got knowledge in how to handle pretty much all existing weaponry as well as considerable insight in tactics and logistic. She makes a handy leader, too. Training - Gun-Fu, or so. She has complete mastery of an unnamed close-combat martial art which incorporates her guns, wings, tail and reinforcement magic into her capabilities. Sure, other girls might be stronger, more agile, tougher or more magically gifted than her. But few are those that can match her skill. Soul Jar - Her soul is actually contained in a small, red jewel that she keeps on her throat. She can dislodge it if she wishes to keep it safe, through a little magical dose of energy. Her body can be infinitely injured and it doesn’t really matter, her soul jar is her real self. If broken, however, she will die. Wings - Wings. Described in appearance section.
Monster Girl: Wings - Dragon wings. They allow her to fly. Her agility with these wings are represented by her AGI stat, so 9. Thick Skin - Dragon-scales, specifically. These scales easily deflect a lot of kinds of damage, and decrease the damage from most other sources. Combined with Reinforcement magic, Leanna’s a tough little girl to take out. Devourer - The predatory instincts of a monster hungers within her. Usually she can keep this at bay by simply eating tons upon tons of meat. We’re talking comic/anime levels of “eats a lot”. With that, she’s the happy and charitable dragon-girl we know. Without it… Well, look to Monstrous Metamorphosis. Luckily, she can hunt on her own while still sane. She likes raw flesh, anyway. Weakness - Ice. Cold makes her body stale, pain shoots through her at the touch of the lower degrees, and it’s an absolute weakness for her. Her dragon blood stops flowing at certain degrees due to being easily assaulted by temperature, and her transformation has therefore provided her with a lethal weakness to Ice Magic.
Patron: Pipyo the Puchuu.
Patron Benefits: Job Satisfaction - For eliminating monsters and such, Leanna gets a dose of pleasure. She’s somewhat addicted to it, and accepts this as her role in life. Mana Font - Leanna has a deep mana pool. She can do her thing for a long time without trouble. Physical Prowess - Leanna’s strong. Don’t underestimate her. Teh-heh.
Patron Drawbacks: Expandable - So, Leanna’s only a pawn for a greater scheme. If for the sake of the greater goal, the Puchuu will not hesitate to do away with her.
Fighting Style: Leanna has something that perhaps few other magical girls have. That is, complete mastery of close-quarters combat martial arts and expertise in usage of all weapons. Her primary weapon is her skill. She shoots at enemies from a distance, wanting them to get close. When they get close, she use their own strength against them in flawless gun-fu that result in her dodging their attack and blasting them with a gun. Her body is her weapon as much as her guns. That, and she’s good at using sudden barriers to block what the enemy thought was going to be a hit at close range and use that to get in a shot of her own. Leanna is terribly dangerous to fight.
She can also take to the skies. With her wings she can fly up into the air and fire down at her enemies with her from a safe height with hit-and-run attacks. Even if the enemy fires at her, she can deflect their fire with powerful barriers. Leanna also likes to bring allies to a battle, and with strong enhancement magic she can power them up or herself, and even if the enemy does get a blow in she can swoop in with a healing spell and be on her way again. She’s a healer, and a very hard to kill such. That said, she might lack in pure firepower. Her fists and guns will be unable to damage anyone of VIT 12 or above, and will suffer trouble injuring already at VIT 10. Sooo, ops. Lacking in offensive firepower, with the exception of her Final Blow…
Even against enemies with distance-attacks, Leanna likes to come close up and personal to make use of her skill and fire at them with her guns, relying on her barriers and natural toughness to keep her alive. However, if emotionally disturbed, she loses all forms of tactics as Monstrous Metamorphosis kicks in. She becomes a terribly agile, strong and tough dragon that somehow still retains all the combat instincts of the girl. In this form she will dash uncontrollably at the enemy, wishing to devour them. With still the martial artist instincts working on dodging blows, that monster is one you do not want to fight, ever.
Personality: To Leanna, this is like the ultimate chance to have a meaning. A Magical Girl protecting the world from threats unknown? It’s the best! The best ever! When transformed she’s exceedingly excited, talks to everyone to make friends and allies, flies headfirst into danger with her guns blazing, and she’s very excited to show off her martial arts to positively anyone around.
When untransformed, she’s very different. All of a sudden she has to deal with being a little girl again and she gets very stressed. Add to that that she has to deal with restraining her monster form and few things go right. Honestly, Leanna greatly prefers living in the nature outside the city and hunting for her own raw food. That’s bliss, living like that. But every once in a while, she has to blend in.
History: Caroline never felt right.
As a young American she joined the army, learned how to shoot, got into the struggles of her time as much as she could. Staying at home and not doing anything that helped anyone didn’t feel right to her. Her parents hated how much risk she put herself in and focused on her siblings. She was a pilot, trying to fly helicopters to assist with destroying enemies. Then she got shot down, unhelpful on the front lines.
Forced to go home with an injury, she couldn’t stop. She tempered her already fit body with martial arts training, and became a master. Even with her injury, she floored other professionals and proved herself a master. … But this was a sport to them. They saw her as an athlete, not a protector. She couldn’t use this talent for any good. Even when she became a police officer it was more scolding idiots than catching crooks.
At some point, she met a veteran like herself who had personally sought her out due to having been inspired by her enthusiasm back there. He charmed her, and Caroline allowed herself to be seduced as a method of seeking excitement in life. They married, and Caroline provided two children for him, a boy and a girl. She took care of the kids, while also supporting a job as a police officer and a hobby as a master martial artist. That was her life.
But this wasn’t it. This wasn’t the life she wanted! This was positively mediocre! Couldn’t something change!? Anything! Anything…!!
… A Puchuu appeared. A startled Caroline looked at it where it sat in the window and stared at her. Apparently, despite her high age at 44, she had an amazing magical potential. To get to use it, it offered her a contract. A contract to become a Magical Girl. … Defend the world from supernatural monsters? What was that? It sounded like… a worthy purpose…?
And so, the fairly strong martial artist 44 year old mother was transformed into a 7 year old underdeveloped magical girl. What’s more, her sudden surge of mana was too powerful for her to immediately handle and as it coursed through her body it transformed her. She grew scales, wings, a tail… her body had become a monster girl and her soul stored in a jewel aside her body for its own safety before she could finally handle it.
Whelp. Didn’t look like she could continue being the mother of her children like this. The girl left out the window, vanishing from her family’s life. She intended this to be forever. A hunger struck her, and because of this hunger, she shot down a deer and then ate it raw. It was delicious. First after she had eaten the whole deer, skin and organs and all, did she return to her senses and realize what she had just done. Ops.
Her original outfit hadn’t necessarily been skimpy, but when Caroline came to terms with what she was, she requested it be changed to show her scaly body that she actually got pretty fond of. She renamed herself Leanna Mabel Thornton, to throw away all ties to the one she no longer looked anything like, and moved to become a protector of the world. A Magical Girl.
Incantation: ’Your souls I will shield and your bonds I will mold, a tiny dragon guides the way on paths untold!’
Additional Info: Currently lives in an apartment in Penrose, paying rent entirely with money gained from Pipyo as rewards for her Magical Girling. It’s officially her job to be a Magical Girl.
Her children and husband are still very much alive and in the city. Leanna avoids them, there’s no way they’d recognize her anyways, but her husband seeks her endlessly. As a suddenly single father, he worries about where his wife has gone endlessly, and the kids are suffering from it. Leanna noticed this once, and swore to herself not to spy on them ever again, due to the sheer guilt and worry that overcame her at that moment. Her mother’s instincts are still intact, after all, but she has a world to protect now, she can’t be occupied with caring for her family… She wouldn’t be welcome like this, anyway…
Type: Puchuu
Name: Pipyo
Patron Benefits: Emergency Reinforcements - If the situation calls for it, Pipyo has contact with other Puchuu and through them other Magical Girls, and can call on them for help. Concerned - Pipyo’s concerned for Leanna, and while he won’t break the Puchuu contract of expandable Magical Girls, he will actively avoid causing Leanna’s death.
Patron Drawbacks: Cagey - Pipyo will not tell Leanna more than she needs at any single time. Leanna’s perfectly fine with this. Loud - Pipyo rarely has the common sense to whisper his advice to Leanna, but rather speaks it out loud, no matter whom might overhear. Big Brother - A little too concerned, maybe. Pipyo will often give Leanna advice or jump into a relationship of hers without her say-so. He’s ever trying to make her contact her kids…
Personality: Pipyo’s an enthusiastic, if very worried, little Puchuu. He’s excited for when things goes well for his Magical Girl but easily makes too big of a deal out of the most minor of worries, and he voices these loudly. He looks to become more experienced as a Puchuu, and he takes things one step at a time. He’s starting to feel confident enough that maybe he should make more than one Magical Girl at a time.
History: Pipyo is a fairly new and inexperienced Puchuu yet still has had enough experience to get a fairly alright connection with other Puchuu around in the city. Because he’s new, he’s a little too concerned with the Magical Girls he creates and wants to ensure each has great performance, and as such only keeps one at a time so far. As he gains more experience, he does plan on getting more. Got to develop slowly. (this means he’ll eventually lose his Concerned benefit and Big Brother drawback, but at that time he might have become experienced enough to give another benefit and perhaps another drawback…)
Resources: So far, Pipyo only supports one Magical Girl at a time. Leanna is not his first, as he has had at least two Magical Girls switch away from him to other Puchuu in the past at his own request, because he wanted to take on a new first-timer. Using help from other, more experienced Puchuu, he has access to coins and money, and gives these as rewards to Leanna for her job. Specifically, money for her rent, as Leanna lives in an apartment now and has no other income to pay with. He also fixed said apartment for her to live in, kind of specifically so that she’d have to pay rent to make her continue Magical Girling.
Additional Info: Maaaaaaaaaaaaay be looking to make Magical Girls out of Leanna’s kids. Because, Leanna says she cannot come back to her family, because she’s now a Magical Girl. Then, if Pipyo made them Magical Girls, then the family might be reunited, right? Heck, he might even throw in making a Magical Girl out of her husband. What’s that? He has absolutely zero potential? … Well, not necessarily a GOOD Magical Girl, but it’d reunite the family, right?
