Similarities between 40K and Star Craft aside, Star Craft is primarily a videogame and 40k is primarily a wargame/tabletop. I'm normally willing to be flexible on this stuff but Warhammer 40K wouldn't really work well with the roleplay. Like at all. Even from a cursory understanding of the lore and setting that's clear as day.

So I'm afraid it can't be added.

@Dead CruiserThis isn't up for discussion Cruiser. Ignoring any concerns about the setting itself 40k is a tabletop first and foremost. It's disqualified from entry into this roleplay by that fact alone. If you want to suggest a video game or video game series then I'll hear you out.

However I would also like to take this moment to let everyone wishing to join my roleplay know I have exactly zero tolerance for power playing. So if any of you intend to join solely so you can make a shallow, over powered character then I suggest you go searching somewhere else. This roleplay is supposed to be about the narrative and the intrigue of against dangers with limited resources, not min-maxing your character so you can 'win'.

@Crosswire anyway, getting back to the point here I.E. the RP. I have a character idea I want to run by you.

or more specifically 2. kind of. I was thinking of playing the second head of x-com's engineering department Lily Shen and her 'brother' Julian, who is a homicidal AI in a war-bot who has been programmed to comply against his will. For the most part Julian would be the one going out on scavenging runs and Shen would do wrench wench things around the forts for the most part and order Julian about remotely.

I think it would be fun to play the conflict between them and also I think Shen and Jack would work well together as foils with their similar professions but different experiences and morality. I'd probably start them both unarmed apart from their drones to balance the fact that there's two of em and one is a big robot. Also there would be some additional intensive for really needing a better power supply.

@DracoLunaris That's a great idea! I loved Shen's Last Gift and Julian was a lot of fun to fight. Having him marching around as this sarcastic ass-SPARK A.I was even better.

I tried finding a screen shot of the SPARK I had Julian in, but all I had was this:

I think having Lily Shen and SPARK Julian would be awesome. The conflict between the two would be really interesting and Julian would be a nice balanced addition to the line up. Having a robot and a proper engineer around would make a better power supply, robot parts/scrap, and larger weapons more valuable. So yeah go for it you have my approval on this. Just make sure you either PM me their sheets or post them up in OOC so I can give them the greenlight before putting them on the character section proper.

I'm having one of those "go back and play xcom again" sessions at the moment and for once all the mods I am using seems stable so i might actually finish a longwar campaign. hopefully I can get a custom spark for a reference once i unlock them again. Mainly because I am playing it coz I am hyped for whatever the dlc they are announcing on Monday is.

as for the rp, I will start work on the cs now I know your down with it and will post em in the ooc once they are done.

to be more specific, something is being announced at E3. literally all we know is that banner up there. unfortunately i think it wont be covered by the pass because said pass lists exactly what was supposed to be in it and all that has come out already. Personally I am anticipating something like an enemy within style expansion.
