[OOC] Lunacy of Love: A CYOA Magical Girl Roleplay [Completed]

The world is filled with magical wonders; spirits and gods with various goals and objectives. Often, these beings oppose each other, and to succeed they either unleash monsters to the world, or have chosen Mahou who wield magical weapons and powers to fight their battles for them; magical girls, with the occasional magical boy as an exception. These are people who, through some turning point in their life, have been given a new life with magical powers, and a regressed age in their bodies.

The city of Penrose seemed like any other city where magical girls protect and destroy, hidden from society. However, an innocent magical girl who wished to unite the warring sides for a common cause was murdered by a member of the Beacon, an order sworn to destroy any and all monsters and dark magic. Since then, tensions have risen in Penrose between Beacon and monster girls, to the point that outright civil war could be unleashed on the city. What's more, pulling the strings behind this rising conflict is Justine von Visceral, a mysterious magical girl gathering the blood of other magical girls...



Welcome to Lunacy of Love (or LOLMGR for short), reboot of Accidental Magical Girl. In this RP, normal people are chosen by Patrons, which include cute and cuddly Puchuu, capricious Lesser Forces, proud Gods and even terrifying Horrors from beyond, to become magical girls and boys. Will you be a defender of justice, an agent of dubious morals, or something completely different like a monster girl?

The setting of the RP is in the fictional city of Penrose, located somewhere in the Northeast US. Due to the increasing number of monsters in the city, the magical girl population is rising as well. Penrose has a population of 600,000 and is located on the east coast. The actual structure of the city will be kept nebulous to allow for player choice.

The Rules

1. A maximum of two active characters and Patrons can be created. Any characters and Patrons created afterwards must replace previously created ones. Exceptions to the rule are Allies-perk and Twin Soul-power, which work as described in the CYOA. Submit your characters first to OOC, and once they have been approved they can be posted to the character tab.
2. Allies-perk and Twin Soul-power may be rerolled into another perk or power.
3. You must first ask for permission before you can create side characters and events that have a considerable effect on the RP's story. Background characters with little consequence are exempt from the rule. For example, you can have civilians witness a fight, or have a slumber party at a magical girl's house without asking for permission to include the parents. On the other hand, them turning out to be fighters or a villain suddenly causing a city-wide swarm of monsters has to be approved first.
4. Keep the sexual content PG. Even though the characters may be mentally older on average, they are still in children's bodies. Romance is fine as long as it's kept clean, and without cheating.
5. Violence: The world of LOLMGR is definitely darker than the average magical girl show, with death as an intrinsic part of the setting. Still, please keep the gore and body horror on the tasteful side.
6. Post Rate: Try for at least once every week. At the beginning things might move more rapidly. If you're not going to be able to post for a while, let me know. Try to avoid speed posting too much.
7. Post Standards: Your post should at least be a paragraph or two in length, include your character's thoughts and an action or some dialogue.
8. Collaboration is recommended for dialogue and/or combat between characters when they are expected to run for longer than a couple of posts. Meetingwords is a good place to make collaborations, for example.

Sealed: While Penny is in her human form She appears as a very well developed young woman, She stands at a respectable 5'9" and looks deceptively frail. She has long dark blue hair which starts gradually turns to neon yellow, in the right light her hair seems to have a silver sheen. Her eyes are a gold color. She prefers baggy clothes that hide her physique, but tends to underestimate her assets. That coupled with her low income and Rites she must follow means she deals with botched purchases rather then go shopping for more.

Active: Penny as she truly is is a seamless mix of human and machine. Her hair has begun losing color, the roots have become a matte gray seems more like fiber optic wire than true hair, with the rest of the color dulling dramatically. Most of body has extremely obvious metallic plates grafted to it, with every major set of joints, discounting the fingers, replaced with obvious mechanics. Her eyes begin to shift between all the colors of the visible spectrum, sans red which bleeds in as Penny becomes more and more stressed. while in this form there is a constant hum coming from Penny, quiet but unmistakable as machinery.

Engine of Destruction: All traces of humanity temporarily flee from Penny as her body become little more then living lightning and metal. The core of her body is still discernible as it retains a passing resemblance of her human from, though lacking a face beyond two gleaming red dots for eyes, devoid of any true emotion. Her limbs become disconnect slabs of metal held in place through a mix of magic and magnetism, that change shape according to thought. in addition all color drains from her body leaving her a light gray, with darker gray plates inter mixed though out. All the while an ominous blood red light seeps through the the cracks.

Gifted Specializations:
Metal & Lightning, the heralds of the modern age, these are the aspects that Penny's soul best reflect. Thus they have become her prison. She has little capability for the casting of magic, but her body has been rebuilt with what her soul flourishes with; A body of steel, with blood of lightning. The best she can do is simple telekinetic cantrips, but being of the same stuff as her specializations does give her some unique opportunities when it comes to magical flair, but all of them will be focused inwards due to her lack of overt power.

The insight to machines that comes with the instinct of metal helps in day to day situations, and she is always a bit quicker than expected due to the lightning in her veins.

Weapons: Due to that changes that have been forced upon Penny her whole body has become a weapon, In addition to simple unarmed strikes, she can project energy blades from various parts of her body(Hands,Feet,Knees,Elbows) to devastating effect. Despite the simplicity of her modes of attack, they were granted by a being of destructive force, thus they carry surprising amount of force behind even simple attacks.

She has dubbed using her blades as Assault mode, as when she activates them thin lines snap open across her body, each glowing with the same cerulean light that her blades give off. This light, and her blades, switch to blood red when she has becomes Engine of Destruction.

1^st Regeneration: Things breaking down in inevitable, it is in how quickly they can be put back together that is important. As a Valued resource Laat'AlOfan see to it that Penny is never far from her top condition.

2^nd Recursion Protocol: Litany of Destruction(Killing Blow): The one true spell that Penny has, a physical blow designed to rend the Walls of Avalon if needed. It will be quite some time before Penny has that capacity to do such however; In the meantime it is still a strike to be wary of.

Bile: A hidden auxiliary system that has been recently reactivated, it is interwoven offensive system that It can be used unfocused as an close range shotgun of flechette and stray arcs of electricity, or condensed as a long ranged lightning bolt charged Gauss cannon. It takes time for her body to recharge its reservoir, around twenty seconds or so, so she is unable to unleash a constant barge of such attacks but it does give her a potent ranged option. This system is discharged from her mouth.

Engine of Destruction has a third variation that makes use of it's unique physiology. It can unleash a focused stream of lightning and sharpened steel shrapnel. It is a mid-ranged attack that it can hold for a several seconds and redirect easily. The trade off is after using this variant the recharge time is about three time longer.

This system is not a magical attack and its power is based on her physical Vitality.

Martial training: There are many way to break things, so very many ways. This is a precious first gift given by Laat’AlOfan, proper instruction in how to properly break other people. It is imprinted deeply enough that the skill remain regardless of which state Penny is in.

Enhanced Sustenance: Due to being the Chosen of Laat’AlOfan Penny no longer requires much upkeep. A handful of hours for sleep and nearly everything is a source of nutrients if she needs it. Even breathing has become obsolete, though habits are hard to break with that one.

Enhanced UniForm: Her new body was crafted by a God of Destruction, For that it had to be resilient, as Laat'AlOfan is not gentle. It was built with the intention of being a tool of destruction, which would work ceaselessly, thus He strove to make it perfect. So despite Penny's soft appearance her body can withstand great punishment.

Monstrous Metamorphoses: In times of great stress, part of what makes Penny, Penny, will slip away drowned out by the urge to rend and shear. In time like these she becomes nothing but an engine of destruction. Thankfully these times are short, but they always leave an impact on the world around her.

Patron: Laat'AlOfan/{Mint}

Patron Benefits:

+Clergy+: The Rites of AlOfan are simple things as destruction is a simple thing. That being said, His Rites are varied, and most commonly seen as demolition projects. Thus his clerics are proficient in all manner of official, and unofficial, demolition practices.

+Paragon+: Destruction is not an easy task; those that have been drafted for it are blessed to both deal it with greater capability and the resilience to resist being destroyed in turn.

+Physical Prowess+: Some are blessed with more than others; Penny is blessed with even more resilience then normal

+Supplier+: Not all destruction is produced on a whim, sometimes planning is needed, and when one plans they will often need supplies to carry out said plan. Laat'AlOfan is always willing to help those that seek to break that which is established, and will endeavor to see that the tools of destruction that they need but don’t have, will soon find its way in to their hands.

+Magical Overload-: Half a blessing, Granted to only one of Laat’AlOfan’s girls, dubbed his Chosen, it grants His Chosen with greater Physical might at the cost of overt magical skill, and the radiance of a multifaceted soul.

---Mint---
Black coin: A tiny piece of metal that hides vast power, and now Penny has one. Not that she ever plans on using the damn thing, but to option is always going to be there. Especially as she is hiding it literally under her skin.

Non-exclusivity: Laat was, and is, her primary patron. The destructive deity is alright with the Mint because they are still relatively new and they are responseable for wide spread change. It was He who first sent the Mint in Penny's direction.

Patron Drawbacks:

-Monstrous Form+: Half a curse, this is the cost of being His Chosen, A body that reflects a twisted mockery of its soul, and the unending urge to rip and tear. A need as real as food or water, grafted permanently to His Chosen’s mind.

-Rites-: There are many rites that Laat'AlOfan can claim as his own. In truth every act of destruction is a Rite of his. That being said there are a few specific rites that He demands be followed.
The First: Break quickly: You must seek to break your Fast within a hour of waking.
The Second: Embrace new growth: Nothing owned maybe older than four seasons.
The Third: Remember the task: You must seek out something to destroy at least once a Moon cycle.
The Last: Roots must never last: No home may be kept longer than two seasons.

-Loud-: Laat doesn't speak often but when he does everyone will hear it, and likely several somethings will be broken because of it.

-Unknown-: He has no true followers, as any religion that lasted for any significant age He would destroy as building things that last is directly opposed to his task. Thus very few have heard of him, and even then what knowledge they have is limited.

---Mint---

Debt: Nothing is given for free in The Mint, everything has a price that has to be paid back. With luck Penny wont stay in debt too long but who can say for sure what lies on the horizion?

Betrayal: Bottom of the totem pole in a organization that wants to make sure it stays hidden, while she is allied with The Beacon puts Penny in a precarious potion. For how long will it last? And who will turn on Penny first?

Fighting Style: Penny's fighting style is a very controlled, if improvisational unarmed style, which degrades to unreasoning brutality as she nears becoming a full Engine of Destruction, her magical talent is laughably weak as she has been rebuilt for the purpose of physically destroying that which stands in her way. she will use Lighting to draw power from power lines and such to get her strength back quickly and small telekinetic control over metal to pull useful objects to her if needed.

For the most part she is a defensive Fighter, counters and parries are her main courses of actions. Unless she has fully lost at witch point she switches to unrelenting assault. The main similarity is her willingness to use any and everything on hand as a weapon if needed.

Personality: Kind and altruistic, Penny always tries to look on the bright side of things and is always willing to help out those she can. Seemingly naive, She is always trusting of people at first meeting. Though that come more from her ability to take care of herself than of lack of judgement.

Unafraid and out going she will be the first to introduce herself and to try and make friends. That beings said she is woefully unprepared for the life she must now lead, and is very hesitant to talk about who she used to be. She can at time come off as conflicted and uncomfortable in her own skin, which is true for a variety of reasons. She has a good deal of empathy for those that have had their lives radically altered.

History: Few people, if any, are willingly inducted to carry out Laat'AlOfan’s will. Penny is no different. Back when ‘She’ was ‘He’ it was a simple case of wrong place wrong time. The Girl that Penny has replaced, like many before her, found a way to slip out from Laat's grasp, and chose to do such in defiance of the destructive God.

Were it at a different time, Jason would have kept his normal life; He worked as a Computer Engineer, tasked with developing and building new hardware and software. It was a simple life with no great appeal beyond the fact that it was his.

But it was a crucial time, and 'AlOfan rarely asks for permission from those he chooses to aid him, He sought the closest person who soul resonated with his intention and acted. Penny doesn’t recall her first night as chosen, and that does worry her.

Laat'AlOfan: He Who Brushes Away the Old

Type: Deity

Name: Laat'AlOfan, Enforcer of change, He Who Brushes Away the Old, The Unmaker

Personality: Laat is a being of action, a bringer of Chaos. Tasked with destroying that which has passed, he quietly fulfills his mandate. Bringing about the ruination of things that are old or no longer needed nor wanted, His is a thankless task, though important one.

He is measured is his actions however, He does not seek unending destruction. Only to brush away stagnation and force new growth to take the place of what once was, Creation and Destruction as two parts of a whole, and Laat'Alofan is Content to be the one who breaks so that others can create.

It is this that drives him to strike both at the Light and the Dark. The Light, as it tends to cling on to its past glories and in doing so forces it to keep growing, the Dark because it often seeks to burn everything to ash and leave it as such, and with continued failure it must learn new ways to complete it goals. Thus Laat'AlOfan is firmly between them both, neither fully an ally nor fully an enemy, but forever requiring innovation and removing the woks that came before.

History: What history there is of Laat’AlOfan is kept by Laat’AlOfan himself. It is not in his nature to let things last. Thus in an effort to fulfill his nature he withholds his own history so one day, when He is no longer needed He will have already removed any trace of his passing, and thus will have already destroyed himself as it were.

Resources: Laat'AlOfan As old and powerful as he may be, knows that he cannot always fulfill his task by himself. To aid in his efforts He drafts the aid of Magical Girls, six he chooses as rank and file soldiers to seek and destroy aging monsters and to combat those of the dark that have taken a deeper Root.

One monster answers to His call, a titanic beast that's sole purpose is wide spread, unrepentant destruction. It is a last resort, used when all other attempts have failed for once His beast has been set loose, very few things can stop it before it has ravaged everything in its sight.

And lastly there is his Chosen, A Magical Girl, twisted by his power and gifted great power in return. They are his greatest warrior. Destruction is in their blood, gifted with the skills, knowledge and capabilities of both Man and Monster. They are used both as a scalpel to cleanly and precisely strike out those that have taken deep root in new growth, and as unrestrained bombs to wipe clean vast swaths at once as needed by his will.

Payment for services rendered are rarely things of permanence, Coin both mundane and magical is the most common as it allows his follows to replace their old gear and supplies as needed by his tenets, though if not spent soon the rewards have a way of being lost. Occasionally he will bestow a Boon either with a Tool of some sort that will reforge its self every month in to something new, Or with a single use magical item, often destructive in nature but not always. Lastly and only in extreme circumstances he will give the gift of freedom and allow one of his follows to truly die releasing them from their bonds of servitude. It is a gift he wishes he could give more freely, but knows that few would choose to stay if given the choice.

Personality: Growing up as an orphan has made him used to being own his own. Because of this, Alexander is a grumpy guy, with a bit of an aggressive streak in him. He's quite vocal about his desire to bash the forces of darkness with something heavy, as opposed to playing support. He's not used to having people care for him, or caring for others. That being said, there still lies a guardian spirit inside of him. So may whatever being you worship have mercy on you if you manage to badly hurt someone he comes to care for...because he won't.

History: Alexander never knew his parents. His earliest memories were of the orphanage where he grew up. Because it was overcrowded, the staff were stretched thin, so he had to learn to fend for himself. Alexander never got adopted, and had to get a minimum wage job when he was too old to stay in the orphanage anymore. One night, when he was walking back home from work, he was attacked by magical creatures. Just as he was about to die, Sol Invictus found him and lent him the power to defend himself. Since his attackers weren't expecting Alexander to be able to fight at all, they were quickly dispatched. Sol Invictus than explained to him that he attacked because he was the last decedent of his followers from the days when he was active, and that his parents were most likely killed for the same reason. He than offered to make the powers he lent him permanent if Alexander became his follower. Consider the state his life was already in, Alexander agreed, having nothing to lose

Name: Sol Invictus, The Cleansing Sun, He who shall smite the darkness with his righteous light.

Personality: Sol Invictus is a very boisterous god. He enjoys good food, good drink, good company and watching the forces of darkness flee in terror! His driving force is being a hero...yeah, he's that kind of guy. He's surprisingly easy going for a god; laughing off his sole follower's complainants. That being said, should his wrath be kindled, he will not hesitate to bring down his light. He is surprisingly friendly for a god; more than willing to have a simple conversation with his followers, or even other gods, and he's always looking for new friends. He is very much like his namesake; warm and inviting, yet harsh relentless to those who cross him.

History: A god from the days when latin wasn't a dead language. He once had many followers, but in a battle with otherworldly Horrors, he was weakened and fell into a deep sleep. When he awoke, he quickly found the sole decedent of his followers; Alexander

Weapon: Fist - Janet is a street brawler and is not afraid to fight dirty. Any advantage in a pinch could decide the outcome. Her technique is not graceful but effective. Her experience comes from her former life in an environment where if you don't fight, you die.
Melee (Dual Weapon) - The Vial Blade, aside from being a terrible pun, is a blade that forms from the magic water contained inside a small round vial. It is exceptionally sharp but not as rigid as other blades. Impacts can deform the sword relatively easily. What it lacks in impact resistance it makes up for in being able to rapidly reform and change shape. The form it takes is limited by the amount of water held in the vial, so no giant weapons. Vial Blade

Power: Tentacles - Forms with a jellyfish bell around her flowing dress she wears when transformed. Made of water they are thin jellyfish like strands are covered in tiny spines that can cling to surfaces. While not exceptionally long they can stretch out a few feet to trip and grab. Despite looking like jellyfish tentacles they are not poisonous in any way.

Enhanced Weapon - Her strikes are swift and precise beyond even her own experience. This allows her to compete with foes who may be physically stronger by landing solids hits more often.
Healing Artifact - A Mermaid Pendant she keeps in her Big Backpack. The gem in the center must be placed against the target for healing. She uses this sparingly for obvious reasons.
Dual Weapon (Gold Coin) - Gains the melee weapon Vial Blade. It comes in the form of a vial that holds magic water and forms into a weapon. She is able to manipulate its shape.
Gifted (Gold Coin) - Ever Mist. Able to disperse water vapor into the air she can create a thick mist to hide and confuse those around her. It is called Even Mist because it is difficult to be blown or burned away. Being held in place by her gift it has a limited ten yard radius and will move with her. She is aware of those in the mist.

Support:

Incognito - People tend to miss that she is even there. This is helpful for sneaking up on an enemy or slipping out of her parent's place unnoticed. And given her past could be seen as somewhat of a blessing. She may be doing good, but she tries to fly under the radar when she can.
Big Backpack - Holds the Vial Blade and her Healing Artifact. Comes with all the standard items outlined in the Perk's description. Still more space for other items.
Absolute Direction - Able to inexplicably locate things so long as she has a solid concept of what it is.
Fake Parents (from Patron) - Robert and Heather Howell. Janet finds being treated like a child uncomfortable but she's not really able to do much about it. They are however leagues better than her former parents.

Perfect Life - Pretty self explanatory, but this new life is like a dream come true. Well, aside from becoming a little girl. But that's a small price to pay.
Spark - Empowered to resist attempts to alter her mind or body.
Genki Girl - A ball of energy. She doesn't tire like normal people which is a big deal when you're a physical fighter. Janet does find it somewhat cumbersome though, not really able to sit still for extended periods of time.

Excommunication - She cannot kill other Beacon girls, cooperate with Horrors, among other things. Breaking the rules means that her standing declines and could potentially be a target and even lose her benefits.

Fighting Style: A fist and melee fighter. Her knowledge of improvised combat and just above average strength for her age makes her a feisty one even normally. Transformed her strength and vitality jump significantly and her near tireless energy allow her to physically fight for extended periods so long as her body can keep up.

The ability to manipulate water combine with her weapon and power give her defensive and offensive capabilities. Able to fire jets of water she can push others away or off balance. With sweeping motions she can make standing water flow in any given direction. While it does not have much power to injure it is effective at distracting and disruption. Possessing a magical weapon of water and her power to form tentacles make her a formidable individual that is difficult to fight up close. The tentacles being made up of water allow her quick switching and fine control of one at a time. Getting near her could result in getting grabbed and pulled into a punch or stab.

When faced with overwhelming odds or emergency circumstances she can release Ever Mist to hide and move about. In the mist her Incognito is particularly effective and allows her to move freely with most having difficulty locating her. The mist can also be used to hide others or as an escape technique.

History: Once a monster in his own rite. Before becoming a magical girl the man was a criminal. Theft, aggravated assault, and murder were three things on a list of crimes he committed. Sentenced to a lifetime in prison his days of freedom looked to be over. Forced to learn to survive in a constantly dangerous where alliances mean everything and friends may stab you in the back. Regret would not begin to describe the feeling that weighed on his shoulders. Having spent more than thirty years behind bars he resolved to make the best of the situation and be a model prisoner. The years have not been kind to him but he persisted nonetheless.

And then came an unusual creature, something called a Beacon. Visiting the cell he had been noticed for his genuine turn in life. However what good does that good will do locked up? Offering to make a contract the man was given a chance to make a real difference in the world. Taking the offer without needing much thought the details did not really matter. He was given some coins and then everything changed. Finding his body twisting and shrinking he was rapidly turned from an old man into a teenage girl.

Power: Power of Friendship - Shannon thrives in social settings. Being able to sense when others are sad and generally know how to fix it benefits her greatly. While it does not pack punch or offensive power in any way she has been able to utilize it to garner friends and defuse situations. Effectively a friend to all she only attacks those truely deserving of it. Her inherent likability can makes her less hatable even to those with a vendetta. She's just too nice.

Blood Magic - Having an overabundance of vitality Shannon can pump that into her magic and to significantly boost her magic capability. Those unfamiliar with her ventures may be caught off guard as she appears to be averagely magically inclined.
Awareness - Her connection to the earth and rock allows her to sense the rocks around her and those on the ground. This is accomplished through her staff which she has on her at all times. While this does make those who are not on the ground less tracable, Shannon is also quite observant with her five ordinary senses.
Purification Artifact - Utilized to repel or deter monsters. Sometimes you don't really need to fight head on to accomplish a goal. This is most often used to herd monsters away from people or put them off their game in a fight.
Enhanced Weapon - Stone is often seen as strong and slow, wearing down an opponent through persistence. Shannon breaks that mold slightly by being able to quickly cast spells to manipulate and shape the earth around her. Her casts surprisingly quick which helps keep others off balance.
Enhanced Sustenance - Not needing to eat or sleep like your normal magical girl is a testament to her fortitude. It also suits her nomadic lifestyle.
Enhanced Transformation (Gold Coin) - Able to transform in a moments notice means that she can get the jump on her opponents or lend a hand in a pinch.

Support:

Training - Given that her specialization is Stone she chose to have knowledge in geology. This allows her to understand the ins and outs of the element she has control over as well as the local geological makeup of the known world.
Get out of Jail - Despite her resilience she is not unbeatable, but thankfully she can on occasion bail from a sticky situation.
Overcity Shift (Gold Coin) - When reason cannot prevail and the public is in danger Shannon will take the fight to the Overcity to prevent unneeded injury and collateral damage. Usually left face to face with an opponent she will attempt to find a peaceful resolution. Should that fail though she need not worry about opening up and crushing her enemy.

Emergency Reinforcements - Calling all friends! Thanks to her ever broadening connection to magical girls and guys she can often count on her Puchuu to send for help when things get hairy.
Job Satisfaction - Rather self explanatory. Having been doing this for a long time for a magical girl she's steeped in her job and loves it.
Mystic Might - Yet another layer on her mystic abilities. Gives a boost to her casting abilities.
Mana Font - Moving the earth take a significant amount of mana given it's strength and weight. To compensate Shannon has access to extra mana from her patron.

Patron Drawbacks:

Expendable - To her Puchuu, Shannon is just another magical girl and will do whatever it takes to see an enemy defeated. Luckily for Shannon she is particularly tough, likable, and can sometimes escape making her adept at surviving.
Cagey - Getting the bare minimum of information can be frustrating at times. But it's something one gets used to after a while.
Empty Pockets: - Her Puchuu has to split any resources between two in his service. So the two get less each.

Fighting Style: A mid-range non-close combat fighter. While she can still fight up close she does not possess the physical strength to fend them off, instead having to use her spells to protect herself or push them back. With those that outrange her she has to close the gap to get to them. That said she is as tough as her element and can even take a hit from high caliber rounds and keep on fighting.

Using her casting abilities Shannon can attack in as many ways as the earth can be manipulated. Hurling sizable rocks at fairly high speeds, cause the rocks or the ground to explode like a hand grenade, softening the ground like quicksand, filling the air with whipping grains of dust. Defensively she can move earth and stone in the way of attacks, push herself out of the way by moving the ground under her, or use similar to move push an opponent.

Her real magic potential doesn't come out until she pours some of her vitality into her magic pool. It's at this point that she can begin doing some pretty astounding things. Feet thick earthen walls can be drawn from the earth and pushed like a moving truck, columns or rock bursting from the ground and flung like javelin, compressing rock into dense pellets and shooting them like small bullets, or even opening small fissures to swallow opponents. Though a particular favorite of hers is to take large stones and cluster them together to form a 9 foot rock golem around herself. Being both offensive and defensive it acts like armor that can fling parts of itself at opponents. She is much slower in this armor but it is effective. All of these more advanced techniques are only achievable by taking a hit to her resilience. While she has ample to go around it does mean that she becomes easier to injure.

Personality: A social creature, Shannon is bubbly and loving. Even against enemies ahe will go out of her way in an attempt to get them to change their ways and befriend them. She's not stupid though and her power allows her to spot a lost cause when she sees one. She is playful but not in a disrespectful way to those she's fighting. When it's time to get serious she buckles down and will do her best to mercilessly beat down her opponant and crush them.

History: Having been a magical girl for three years, Shannon doesn't really talk much about her formar life. However word on the grape vine does have a little information. Supposedly SHE used to be a HE and was accidentally chosen during an emergency. The Puchuu had actually intended to recruit his older sister but in the haste of the moment grabbed the wrong member of the family. That mistake has since been corrected but by that point it was too late for the boy as the transformation had already taken place.

All that is water under the bridge though. Since that time Shannon was found to take well to being a magical girl. Receiving training and assistance she's risen in popularity in the magical girl community. Treating her task of protector as a career she's abandoned any form of home to be a full time defender of the innocent. While her excessively fogiving nature and willingness to compromise has put her at odds with many patrons, including the Beacon, she's managed to stay on good terms with most and off the Beacon's hit list for the time being. Of her many friends the late Victoria Reales was one of them. Word of her passing has finally made its way to Shannon and has prompted her to pack up and head to Penrose.

History: The past is the past. But for things pertaining to Shannon this is the story. His previous magical girl was KIA and the danger at hand prompted Paree to hastily select a new human to patron. He missed his mark and ended up transforming the wrong human, the younger brother of his intended target. No matter, the new magic girl turned out not to be a total loss and later Paree contracted the sister as well.

Resources: Paree has two magical gir-, er, one magical girl and a magical boy in his service. The two are brother and sister, though one is off elsewhere at this time. Given this the resources they get are split between them so they don't get a lot.

Out of costume she is always aware of when people lie to her, with the potential to become more powerful.

Weapon: Ranged, Bow
Star Seraph - An ornately decorated longbow with ammunition both magical and ordinary. It provides quit a bit of a wallop at full draw, to punch through armor and flesh. It makes up for the comparatively low speed of the weapon when it is being used, though she can augment that with magic to increase the firing speed of her weapon and even throw out multiple arrows at once.

Power: Barrage - Specializes in suppression, casting a lot of small spells in a row, and she can add secondary explosions to her larger spells.

Perks: Enhanced Outfit - An improved uniform that channels magic better, and provides serious protection to the point of shrugging off axes and heavy weapons fire.

Sorcery - Alicia has experience with the mystical art of Hoodoo, which she can even teach to normal people after some lessons. It also lets her use magic when untransformed.

Interdimensional Tourist - Alicia knows a traveler from another dimension who lends a hand when she needs it, giving her a place to crash, offering fake ID's, pretending to be her parents, etc.

Get out of jail - When imprisoned or trapped Alicia can rarely choose to teleport to a random safe location, which is guaranteed to have the supplies or facilities she needs to recover. Easy return and the area remaining safe past arrival are not guaranteed.

Blood Magic - Magic can be fueled with health rather than Mana, though obviously this can be dangerous to your general well being

Fighting Style: Alicia is primarily a ranged fighter par excellence. She will hang back and provide support for melee fighters, taking out mobs and backing up her allies with powerful magic. If fighting solo she will do her best to keep her distance, hammering away at her opponent and wearing them down until she can shift to the offensive and deliver the coup de main with an overwhelming onslaught of magical force. This is augmented by her blood magic, allowing her to keep up the fight for far longer than your average magical girl and ensuring that the strategy is effective by maintaining a consistent power output for longer.

If she is pulled into melee she will use her magic to fight defensive and look for an opportunity to return to long range, or for her opponent to make a mistake so she can finish the fight right then and there.

Personality: Alicia does her best to live up to the virtue that she has taken on as part of Beacon, and she would consider herself a fairly patient person who does not relish the thought of violence. That does not mean she will not act to defend civilians if they are threatened. This she will do with a firm conviction, though there may be some regret depending n the circumstances involved. She is not heartless after all.

As a normal girl Alicia works hard and has an upbeat attitude, always looking forward to whatever the day might bring, even if it's a challenge to look on the sunny side. She tends to be more charitable than is perhaps good for her, but doesn't mind working hard and helping out others if they need assistance. She also has a soft spot for music, specifically soft rock and classical music, and cares a lot about her family. Fortunately being in Beacon means she doesn't have to worry about them, giving her a bit more peace of mind.

History: Alicia grew up with a fairly normal life, the eldest of three siblings and the one who felt the weight of family expectation upon her. She did her best to live up to the family values, and to represent them well. She did not want to let her parents down after all. Yet she always had this nagging suspicion that there was something missing, that she could be something more. She just didn't know what it was. It would take her time to find out. She went to college, planning to become a teacher so she could give back to people much like she had been raised to. Yet she was not content simply giving up her life so easily. During break she went traveling, exploring the world a bit to try and find herself, and to resolve herself to what she was going to do in the future. A fact made all the more ironic when she was approached by a Puchuu from 'The Beacon' one day.

So she became a magical girl, learning how to fight, to harness her powers and use them in a manner that lived up to the ideals that Beacon upheld. She also chose her virtue as required by the Beacon, and settled into a new life with her family. She went out to fight, and soon got quite a bit of experience as a magical girl. Along the way she also met a strange traveler who claimed to be from another dimension. After buying them a meal they struck up a good friendship, and now work together when it is needed or convenient. Her friend doesn't go out and fight, but for more covert things it works out well.

She can summon tentacle-like vines out of her clothes. She cannot really control them 100% but she can give them general orders. Usually, it's to prevent the enemy from getting close to her as she does her attack from a long range. She could control one of them though, if she wanted to grab an opponent's foot for example, throwing them off balance.
2. Focused Assault (Gold)
Her form of this power is turning her arrows gigantic, around the size of a man, giving it a far more potent destructive capability.

Perks:

She carries with her a seed that somehow gives her visions of things she want to see, be it from the past, present, or the future

Rarely, she could escape from being imprisoned by teleporting away to a random location that would be guaranteed to be safe and would have facilities to help her recover. It was most likely a gift from her beacon masters.

5. Familiar
She has an owl as a familiar, with the ability to turn into a giant eagle for a while in combat.

Personality:
Rough, tomboyish, and cheeky, she might be seen as a brat from the outside, but she was a kind girl on the inside, though she would be embarrassed to show said kindness to a stranger. She had put up a shell of toughness around her as she had to fend for herself ever since she was born. But break that shell, and you wouldn't be able to find a friend more faithful than her.

History:
She was living in the town as an ordinary orphan before all of this started, working multiple part time jobs just so she could help support the orphanage she was living in. She didn't know who her parents were. She was abandoned at birth, with her baby self dumped in front of the orphanage doors. She would say that she didn't care about it at all, but deep down she wished for a father and a mother that would spoil her.

One day, back home from work at night, she stumbled upon a curious-looking great bow on the road. She picked it up and realized that it was lighter than it looked. It turned out to be a Divine Bow named Yggdrasil, and seeing how she managed to pick it up, that meant she was fit to weild it. So said the agent of the beacon watching from the sideline.

"If you're willing to work with us and use your power for good, then we shall grant your wish for a family."

The beacon agent had been spying on her for a while as ordered by his superiors, as they believed her to have the potential to become their magical girl. And now with her picking up Ygddrasil, their theory was proven to be true.

In the end, she accepted. The beacon agent even set her up with a rich couple, just so she could help her orphanage without having to work so many jobs every day.

Incantation: "By the power of Yggdrasil, I shall cleanse you all!"

She is quite self conscious by the fact that she has a flat chest. Girls her age should already have at least a pair of small bumps. She just hoped that she was merely a late bloomer.
