[OOC] Valkyria Chronicles: Dark Corners Of Europa

It's the early 20th century in Europa and the ragnite craze has led to tensions between the two dominating powers of Europa, the Autocratic East Europan Imperial Alliance (The Empire) and the Atlantic Federation (The Federation). The assassination of the crown prince of the Empire sparked a war that would be known forever as the First Europan War. While many nations were involved and destroyed in it, the primary belligerents of this conflict were the Federation and the Empire.

The roleplay will take place during this war and the players will be Federation soldiers. However, they will not be deployed to the front lines to fight Imperial forces. Instead, they will be deployed to the small nation of Gallia. Their mission in the country concerns the retrieval of a Gallian who possesses great knowledge that could stand against the military prowess and technological superiority of the Empire.

Of course, the Federation aren't the only ones who wish to acquire this knowledge and none of them know that this knowledge has a price.

Da Rules

1) Standard Roleplayer Guild rules. No godmodding and stuff.
2) As GM, I reserve the right to have my word to be law within the boundaries of this RP.
3) If there are problems with the RP or with other players, you can take it to me (so I can take it to someone who could deal with it lol!).
4) Do not post your character in the Characters Tab. Only I have dominion there.
5) Only post once when you are interacting with an NPC or doing an action. You can post as many as you want when you are talking to another player.
6) Updates (i.e. My posts to move the story along) will generally occur every Sunday and Friday (I'm UTC+8:00 by the way). However, if you have not posted within one week, I will still update without affecting your character as much as possible. Worst case scenario, I will assume your character did nothing.
7) Please post something in the OOC if you are still interested just unavailable at the moment. If you do not post within two or three weeks still without any post given, I will be forced to drop you from this RP.
8) If you have read the rules, you will NOT fill out the equipment section of the character sheet. Your equipment will be issued to you based on your class. (Helping others regarding this rule is discouraged unless you are vouching for that person.)

REGARDING SANITY
This is a hidden stat that will affect your character's senses and their perception of reality (i.e. I'll say your characters sees things that aren't actually there). You'll know that your sanity has been reduced through my posts. To recover sanity, one must indulge in off-combat activities that brings comfort. There are also other ways but I'll handle all of that.

Please refrain from metagaming. Lest I metagame harder.

Good Potentials

• Extra Pocket - Bring one extra equipment with you (indicate here what you will bring)
• Light Feet - Your feet will not trigger mines... or ancient traps.
• Stealthy - Your presence can't easily be detected making sneaking a breeze for you.
• Iron Mind - You do not succumb to terror easily. Whether from this world or from beyond. (Increases total Sanity)
• Well-Built - You have the strength to overpower average men or withstand charges from them.
• Lockpick - You know all the locks made under the sun. But not all locks are made under the sun.
• Hidden Power - There is an action that you can do. This makes it more potent.
• Lone Wolf - You are more relaxed alone... but also more vulnerable. (Regains Sanity continually if alone)
• Darcsen Bond/Pro-Darcsen - The presence of Darcsens eases you. (Gains Sanity if there are Darcsens nearby)
• Fancies Men - Having males nearby relaxes you. (Gains Sanity if there are males nearby)
• Fancies Women - Having females nearby puts you at ease. (Gains Sanity if there are females nearby)
• Negation - Remove one Negative Potential.

Negative Potentials

• Loud - No matter what you do, you can't help but make noise. Sneaking is next to impossible for you.
• Frail Mind - You do not handle terror well thus your senses play tricks on you very quickly. (Decreases total Sanity)
• Weak Body - You are easily overpowered so you should probably not get close to enemies as much as possible.
• Impotent - There is an action that most people of the world can do. You are not one of those people.
• Monophobia - The lack of presence of others, particularly allies, strains your mind. (Drains Sanity continually if alone)
• Anti-Darcsen - Your infernal hatred for the Darcsens is greater than most. (Drains Sanity if there are Darcsens nearby)
• Gynophobic - You REALLY do not like women. (Drains Sanity if there are females nearby)
• Androphobic - You REALLY do not like men. (Drains Sanity if there are males nearby)
• Bad Aim - Your shots seem to have trouble hitting their mark. Don't worry, they will hit... eventually.

I'm curious about the Valkyria, were you thinking she would be a potential Valkyria, like Alicia who had to discover her powers, or a Valkyria right off the bat? Also were you thinking of making the Valkyria more of a supersoldier or actually someone who uses ragnite weaponry like a true Valkyria? Depending on the direction you had in mind would greatly effect how she would be developed.

Personality: A rough individual, Leon is a determined individual who will do whatever it takes to complete the task at hand and the mission in general. He doesn't shy away from violence and will not hesitate to kill, but he does try to look after his men. And of course he also sees nothing wrong with the war in general, and is annoyed by people who talk about peace without victory. Not really a fan of Darcsens, but he's willing to be more tolerant if they prove themselves to him on the battlefield. Holds a soft spot for classical music.

Background: Born in the southwestern portions of the Federation, Leon did not initially think that this was where his life would end up. He worked as a farmer, with no particular aspirations in his life. Sure, he did the mandatory service like everyone else, but no one thought that anything would actually come of it. H certainly didn't.

It was actually his wife who got him into this position, coming from a career military family herself. With the rising tensions between the Empire and the Federation she encouraged him to enlist for a longer term, and at her urging he ended up doing so. How unpleasant that there would actually be conflict for him to deal with as the war began. He fought, distinguishing himself in several tough battles in the South before finding himself pulled away for a covert mission. It might not b his thing, but if they told him to go then he was going to go. Anything to defeat the Empire once and for all
