Question for my posty, have we decided that Galahad is the Warleader of the Phoenix? Or was that still a debate that hasn't resolved itself yet?

@vietmyke it was him or...yeah, I think him. At least for Ziotea. there were one or two others proposed, can't remember who.

Edit: so no, never officially resolved.

@vietmyke I think a number of us agreed that that would be a cool idea. Is it okay with you?

Conversely, I seem to recall the idea of Ilya being Leviathan's leader being brought up, having been elected essentially by default. I forget what was concluded, but it might make more sense for one of the unnamed members to have the position.

Hmm... that does give me an idea, though. I've been pondering offering a character for Leviathan, but was worried she'd clash too much with Ilya in charge. But conversely, if Ilya was her Second, that might work a little better.

@CollectorOfMyst Show us what you got!

That goes for everyone else too. If anyone has any ideas for like, 7-ish other young inquisitors feel free to present them. :)

Here's a character that's been kicking around in my head for a while.

Mother Adrijana Zaric
Age: 20

Adrijana is a proud daughter of one of Magnagrad's oldest families, the Zarics of Godsreach. The Zarics have been barons of the ethertrade for centuries and have often clashed with the Bjornlie family, as such, the two dynasties have had a long-standing blood feud. Arijana exemplifies her family's lineage-- she is cutthroat and utterly without mercy when it comes to getting what she wants, which, it appears, is to rise within the Inquisition to be granted the hallowed title of Bishop, Champion of Lord Varya.

An exceedingly powerful warmage, Adrijana's ability to manifest her ether in destructive lightning storms makes her a force to be reckoned with. Because of her upbringing and powerful magic, Adrijana has never felt the need to bond with her warsiblings and has clashed with them throughout her years in the Seminary. When on training exercises, it was a known factor that Adrijana did things her way, and any attempt at working with her would often prove disastrous to the mission. Due to her attitude and her unwillingness to work as a team, her warsiblings have long distanced themselves from her. For her part, she always believed the rest of Leviathan to be holding her back and wanted nothing more than to leave her Warband behind and strike out on her own, a wish that was eventually granted to her.

Strangely, Adrijana was allowed her Culmination before the other members of Leviathan as well as Phoenix warband. She was ordered to serve aboard the VSS Durandal as a junior inquisitor under Father Creid, and is now currently journeying across the eastern sea on her way to fight in El.

@CollectorOfMyst@Draken@Lovejoy Ilya as Leviathan's leader might work, but not for Phoenix. Ziotea would have made it her mission to block him -- and that wouild probably impact his ability to lead, since a member that doesn't fall in line can be an issue. In fact, she /would/ have suggested Ragnar as an alternative.

Also hm...I wonder how Ziotea sees this new gal. Possibly tried to approach her, but didn't try too much after being rebuffed. But someone else who's hugely destructive! Then again, if she ever gave Ragnar a hard time, Ziotea would have faced her down.

I need that now.

When it says "any attempt to work with" you mean she actively sabotaged others trying to do things her way, or that she did what she wanted even if it wasn't the way they were supposed to be doing it, and thus more of including her being disastrous?

I've got an idea or two that might work for a Leviathan member, just a background one.

She strikes me as the kind of terrible person who violently lashes out at anyone who gets in her way during the action and will throw a fit at people who suggest trying another tactic. Definitely someone nobody wants in charge. The type to shoot the messenger who brought bad news and execute the advisory council everyone was surprised she had in the first place.

Ilya, for his part, would have tried to probe and see if she was open to diplomacy. She clearly was not, and so he would quietly (and internally resentfully) settle in to the family feud - though he wasn't about to start sh*t when there's so much work and learning to be done. He would, however, feel a bit pissy about her special treatment with a individual culmination and special assignment. Part of him hopes its a punishment of sorts, but really he fears someone as terrible as her is being handed a relatively easy path to being regarded as a hero. The brat doesn't deserve it.

As for Ziotea's opposition to Ilya being a leader - she would have had no real say, as a member of a different warband. She can throw as many fits as she likes, but Leviathan business does not concern her - until culmination and Ilya's assignment to join Phoenix in journeying to El, that is. But by then, his position is cemented, it's just a matter of what sway he has on the boat. That will be at sea for a very long time.

@Draken Oh no, Ilya's position as Leviathan's leader is fine. But he's not going to be in charge of the combined group (probably), because Phoenix has a leader of their own, and there's more members of Phoenix on the team than of Leviathan. That's what I meant. Sorry, didn't say it well.

Umm... actually, Adrijana's pretty much the character I had in mind, personality wise. Just a little more social.

@CollectorOfMyst Haha, seriously? Well, you're still welcome to show us what you got. :p

@shylarah No, she didn't actively sabotage the training exercises. She was pretty much a lone wolf who barely acknowledged her warsiblings. I don't think she did it out of a conscious malice or anything, she is just one of those people who is singularly focused on one goal and doesn't give a shit about anything else whatsoever, and if you got in her way, you were a target. The rest of Leviathan knew that this was who she was and wouldn't change, so they basically had to shape their strategies while keeping the "Adrijana Factor" in mind. Needless to say, they probably all hated her by the end.

EDIT: Oh, and as far as Ziotea goes. I think Adrijana would've begrudgingly admired her power, for obvious reasons. So, maybe she was like, 10% less of a bitch to Ziotea than to everyone else. Ragnar would have definitely "noped!" the fuck out of any interaction with her though. :p

@Draken I think she would've been intent on proving her superiority over a son of the Bjornley family and would've demanded Ilya to duel her throughout the years. I think, as far as pure destructive ether potential goes, she would have him beat, but he is definitely more clever than her, so who knows how those duels went (if he even chose to participate in them).

He would probably entertain her once a year. Despite it being an annoyance, he would totally start preparing a month ahead of time, even if he lost most of the matches. She almost certainly won the final bout, especially since Ilya isn't about to get any distance in a formal 1v1 scenario. (Turns out that being the gun guy isn't too good when starting at 20 paces and with magic. Plus, I highly doubt they battled while knee deep in water or anything.)

@Lovejoy I could see that. Ziotea is a hypocrite in some ways for being disgusted at Adri, but then she doesn't go out of her way to hurt her comrades, and she does try to be part of the team, if not actively friendly. She doesn't like you, but it doesn't mean she wants you dead. I think oin the field she would do what she could to cover her war siblings, it she'd also expect them to hold their own.

Such a conflicted little derp. <3

Also whoops I read adri as from muraad and mistook Ragnar as the bjornlie, not Ilya. *oops*. But still, the first time Adri gave anyone Ziotea cared about a hard time -- and I'm sure it happened -- that was it. Might've asked to fight her sometimes, though. Grudging respect for the little hellion...what about stina? Does Adri respect him at all?

By the way, lemme know when you've read that thing I linked you.
