Hilda's appearance is what you would expect of a combat oriented mage; long limbed, slim and athletically built. Her Gorman genetics have gifted her with a graceful six foot figure and a tanned complexion, coupled with light brown eyes soft dark hair. Alhough her ever growing stature is quite intimidating, those who look up will be met with a soft and kind expression that shows no intention of frightening anyone. Hilda likes to stick to her long sleeved shirts and jackets, as she seems to get cold very easily.

P E R S O N A L I T Y:
A quiet and mellow soul, Hilda doesn't seem like a daughter of a renown family of combat mages. An embodiment of the saying 'actions speak louder than words', Hilda supports others with her kind acts and gentle personality to make up for her lack of speech. She strongly believes in character growth, peaceful negotiations and understanding others, and does whatever she can to be as caring and supportive as possible. The girl can be a little socially inept and a totally hopeless romantic at times, but Hilda has a very big heart, and it often shows.
Although her kindness shows almost no bounds, Hilda will always stick to her roots as a competitive and determined combatant. While her father taught her the importance of compassion and camaraderie, her mother taught her the instincts of a battle hardened mage and the thrills of a competition. When met with a challenge, Hilda will rarely stand down; whether it's to improve her magical capabilities or fighting a one-on-one battle with a fellow student, the girl won't back away from a challenge. Hilda believes that others can gradually improve, including herself who still has so much more to learn.
M A G I C D I S C I P L I N E:
Klingenhaus - A magic revolving around the generation of an extremely strong metal. The Gorman family specialises in the offensive use of magically constructed metal objects (armour, swords, shields etc) though this can be used for noncombat purposes. Although this type of magic sounds simple on paper, actually learning how to use it to some degree of effectiveness is difficult. To create a specific object (a sword for example), one must thoroughly learn the shape and construction of said object to be able to produce it properly. The more complex an object is, no matter how big or small, the more practise it takes to construct; although Hilda can construct a spear just fine, the precise swirls of a simple nail, the sharp edges of a sword, and the intricacies of plated armour are still beyond her level.
E Q U I P M E N T:
•
A sketchbook that Hilda draws in to help visualise different objects from different angles. She's quite the artist herself, actually.
•
A spear that Hilda practises with in order to maintain her skill with the weapon. She'll often be up early in the morning swinging the thing around.
•
A broadsword that Hilda keeps for similar reasons. She claims that she likes to sleep beside it because it 'makes her feel safe at night'.
B I O G R A P H Y:
Hilda was a lucky kid. With two wealthy loving parents with a knack for magic and four older siblings ready to jump anyone who dared to harm their little sister, one may think that Hilda's childhood was relatively mundane and pretty great. But having the surname Gorman and being the daughter of one of the most famous Master-level battle mages in the world would not guarantee her a mundane childhood.
While other children went to play ball games in the park, Hilda would be learning how to fight with a spear and a sword. While other kids would be playing tag with each other, she would be running laps fully clothed in metal armour. She would spar with her brothers and sisters and sometimes her mother, and for a while, Hilda's family was all she ever knew. But her parents gave her all the of the love and care in the world in hopes that their daughter would grow to become a strong and respectable woman. Although there was a lack of social interaction with other kids, Hilda was happy the way she was.
From four years of age to fifteen, Hilda was nurtured into the warrior girl she is today. But although she definitely had the 'combat' part of combat mage fulfilled, Hilda was lacking in the 'mage' department. Magic was not the girl's strong point, and after eleven years of training, the only thing Hilda could properly construct was a simple metal spear. Her mother's teachings would not be enough to bring out Hilda's abilities, and at age fifteen and still not being able to create a useable sword, the girl would have to continue her magical education elsewhere. With her mother's deepest regrets, Hilda was signed up for the Breakfast University of Magic.
M A S T E R:
Irene Gorman - Hilda's mother, and the current matriarch of the Gorman family of combat mages. More commonly known as
'Iron-Clad Irene' for her fast and skillful use of metal generation magic.
If Hilda was forced to sacrifice something important in order to move forward, it would be: her magical abilities. An unusual sacrifice for someone gifted with the ability to use magic, but as someone who was never good at controlling it, Hilda wouldn't mind sacrificing such a thing. Making giant shields out of nowhere and creating unlimited amounts of swords sounds nice, but with her extreme physical talents, Hilda can still go places.
If Hilda was offered to have a single wish fulfilled, it would be: to knock a few inches off her height. Hilda is actually very insecure about her appearance and the whole 'six foot tall and still growing' thing, so perhaps taking her height down to a solid 5'5 wouldn't be all that bad. If her older sister could still be a total musclewoman at only 5'3, then maybe taking off a few inches isn't a bad idea.
