The teleporation glyph glowed with a gentle blue light, and Mede Artus, Chief Custodian, admired the glow. No matter how many times he operated it, the entrance glyph to the school was a thing of wonders - all the more reason to admire the Headmaster, who constructed it. Normally, knowing how to operate a glyph meant that you would know how to reconstruct it. This was especially true when the one studying it was a Master such as himself, but after thirteen years of working on it, he was still no closer to figuring out how it was made. The whole thing was so complex, with facets hidden within facets, and yet, it still allowed for even an Novice to be able to operate it - so long as they were given the proper tools.

Finished with his admiration, Mede stepped back, and stretched. The new semester was starting and that meant new blood would be rushing in again, though he wondered if it would replace the amount lost. Every year the teachers made bets - would there be more or less students than last year? Mede himself bet on more this time. Last year, relatively few dropped out and there were no graduations either. So unless a startling number of people declined their invitation to the university, they would probably see a decrease in the number of available dorm rooms.

Once the students arrived, that meant the opening ceremony had officially begun. Which also meant that breakfast was being served. Mede grinned. There was nothing - nothing - better in the school than breakfast. It was the Headmasters creed, no, demand that every day began with a good meal. And by every god, were the meals good. It was also another reason why students were brought here at 12 am. So they wouldn't have a chance to eat yet, and by the time the opening ceremony concluded at 2, they would be practically starving.

Of course, that made the breakfast served all the more savory. The Headmaster was a cunning bastard he was.

He looked at his watch. The spring equinox was almost here. Soon, students would appear on the glyph, and hopefully, they skipped breakfast.

The ground pulsed with a blue light, as a bouncing Melody Winters materialized in the center of the glyph, brimming with excitement for the start of a new school year. She stretched and looked around at the familiar school grounds, before hurrying off to clear the way for newly arriving students. She stifled a yawn and smiled, her mind swimming in the sea of possibilities to come, and rubbed her eyes. If she had the self-control she would've slept earlier to make sure tiredness wouldn't be an issue, but how on earth could she of ever manage that when she was looking forward to tonight so much? Given this, she defiantly fished a travel mug out of her bag and sipped on the succulent nectar that was vastly oversweetened coffee.

The hot coffee stood in stark contrast to the chilly night, not only helping to keep her awake but also to warm her bones. She was dressed well for the weather, wearing a light pink down feather coat and blue jeans, but still, midnight isn't by any means the warmest time, even if it was technically spring now. Melody leaned back against the dorm building and decided to spend some time watching the incoming students. She smiled to herself, already beginning to feel rejuvenated. As more and more people filed into the grounds, the excitement and jovial feelings that permeated the crowd was reinvigorating Melody a fair bit, enough to the point that the exhaustion she had entered with was quickly fading away. She continued to sip at her coffee as she watched her peers return for this wonderful new year.

As the blue light faded Kai could see the school of his dreams right in front of him blended in the night sky. Kai started jumping of excitement, every student there was like him, he hoped that he had strong class mates, he loved a good duel and the stronger they were the more excited he was. He dream of one day surpassing his master and becoming the Archtype time. He had never met an Archetype, but he heard stories, and damn they were good. His master himself was a grandmaster and he told stories of Archtypes that had fought 10 grandmasters at once and still one, and Kai couldn't even do 5% of what his master was capable of. But that was why he was here, to train with the best and become better and stronger each day.

He walk towards the dorm building (they had been given a map) and he could see a girl standing near the building, "Maybe she is a second year student, I'll ask her for directions.". Kai approached the girl and with a really smiley and excited face asked: "Hey, I'm Kai, I'm a freshman and just arrived, do you know were should I go or what should I do now?

Theo materialized into the Breakfast University school grounds, and looked around him. Nope, still dark. He had thought perhaps the reason he had to leave at midnight was because the university was in a separate timezone, but since it still seemed to be pretty deep into the night here at the school, he couldn't have traveled very far. Theo had read about some schools using some sort of time magic in order to have students from all around the globe leave and arrive at the same time according to where they left from, but it seemed weird to him to have everyone leave so late to make their arrival at the same time: midnight.

However, that thought faded into the back of his mind now that he was here. Wow, a real magic academy! It was a very diverse place when it came to the students, all sorts of different people were milling about. Some were even carrying staves and wands with them, neither of which the boy had seen before except in pictures. One of them even wore a pointy wizard hat! He couldn't tell if she was just wearing it as a costume though, since she was the only person he could see wearing one.

Anyways, probably best to at least move off the teleporter before getting one's bearings. Theo readjusted his grip on the two suitcases he was holding with his right hand, as his left hand was busy holding his thermos of coffee, and moved over next a couple other students beside one of the buildings. After laying his two suitcases down, he held his thermos with both hands to warm them. He was wearing a buttoned long coat that warmed his arms, but his gloves were still in one of the two suitcases.

After taking a quick sip of his coffee, he pulled his map out from his jacket pocket and attempted to unfold it and hold it in a readable way with one hand. Let's see, I think the opening ceremony is taking place in the mess hall. And the telporter is... Oh, the entrance glyph, here it is. I'm... pretty far from the mess hall it looks like... he thought with a grimace. That's gonna be quite the walk.

"Do you have everything you need, Viola?" The large, dark hallways of the Fiore estate were cold in the midnight air. Not even the large fireplaces that usually warmed the ancient halls could keep all areas of the ancient Gothic estate warm entirely. Not that either of them minded. They both rather enjoyed cooler temperatures, after all. If anything, Livia couldn't handle heat well.

"Hm? Of course, mistress." The small girl giggled as she sat the teacup back on the saucer in front of her. The dining room was a large place, definitely built to house more than three people at dinner time. The place didn't seem to have electricity, or if it did it wasn't in use. The only source of light was from the fire place and a set of large chandeliers. "Same as last year, no? And don't worry. Finding a friendly little Sylph or Undine to play with shan't be difficult, hehe. Who knows...maybe I'll find a cute little devil willing to be my playmate." She leaned back in her chair, smirking idly to herself.

"Ah?~" Livia hummed. "I would hope so or you'd be a failure of a student." She chuckled to herself from across the table, bringing her own teacup to her lips. "You played around too much last year, you know. You should already be much further along in your studies...though your carefree attitude is admirable."

"Oh my. Is the ever so great Mistress Fiore complimenting me? You should tell me how great I am more, hehe. Maybe give me a pat on the head~" Viola impishly giggled as she stood from the seat. The silverware and tea set on it, starting to float ever so lightly before seemingly carrying themselves off to the kitchen.

"Giving credit where it's due is only right." She replied, taking a sip of the tea. "Regardless, I expect you to be much further along by the end of the year." She sat the teacup down, giving Viola a cool gaze. "Or we will have problems. Understand, dear?"

"Tsk, so little faith in me, Mistress."

"Faith, is for short lived humans who lack the conviction to do things themselves." She took another sip of the tea. "Transient I am not and Conviction is something I have in droves, lest you forget."

"So serious, as always." Viola giggled. "Ah, but don't worry, Mistress. I shan't disappoint you...I aim to please, after all." Livia simply smiled, passing the tea to a silver-haired servant.

"Dismissed then, dear." She said, waving the small girl away. "Cynthia, show Viola out. Being late would be rude to those insufferable mages." The servant bowed, before walking out of the dining room, her footsteps echoing off of the tiled dining room floor. As she left, Livia simply rest her elbows on the table, folding her hands together as she rest her chin on the back of her hands. "I shall be in the labs when you return."

...how troublesome.

Blue light flashed, the teleportation Glyph lighting up in a pleasing display of arcane energy as new students shuffled in. Viola was no different, though it was her second year here so she wasn't quite so caught up on how it worked. It was beyond her current understanding anyways - though in time she would put effort into figuring it out. Curiosity, or just a lust for knowledge in general was one of the major driving factors of her even attending this school when she could simply learn all she wanted too from the Fiore Estates libraries and dungeons.

Of course, she supposed if she didn't then she'd never be able to get rid of her teacher then, would she?

Oh well~

Viola stepped off the glyph, her suitcases of luggage floating unsteadily behind her. To say she had a lot, was an understatement. It seemed she planned on decorating her dorm entirely to her liking, if the carpets and large number of suit cases she had with her was an indication. It was likely giving a few of the students who didn't know her a bit of a startle, especially if they got near them. No magic seemed to be holding them, and she didn't seem to be commanding them directly. Of course, those in tune with undead and the more spiritual natures of the world would realize quickly she had a small army of small, though mostly harmless spirits following her.

She moved over to the dorm buildings like many of the other students, though unlike other students she didn't seem to be particularly bothered by the cool night air, though her rather elaborate dress might be warmer than it looks for now though, Viola kept to herself. She knew where everything was and had no reason to ask for directions as this was her second year here. For now, she had her poltergeist friends arrange the numerous suitcases into something resembling a large throne of some sort before hopping onto the pile and stretching her body across it, laying on her back as her legs hung over the side of it.

"Ahh...another year another waste of time." She chuckled. "I doubt they'd let me into the forest...silly mages and their rules." Huhm, perhaps she should go ahead and head to the Auditorium.

The Blue shimmering light flashes, momentarily blinding Luna's field of vision. She was not use to such bright lights. She materialized and looked around at, what she would call, her new home. A new chance to shed her past, and move forward. She arrived with nothing more then her teady bear and MP3 player. A part of her regretted applying for the school, nothing good would come from her magic. Most saw her use of shadows as mischievous, sinister, or evil. But that boothered her less, then the burden she placed on those around her, She hoped she wpuld make friends in her time hear, but she was afraid her roommate won't like her at all.

She scanned the people walking through the campus. She looked out at the night sky for a moment, before moving away from the glyph. She started to walk towards the dorms, She noticed a few students talking, and decided she didn't want to be a bother to them. She moved to a tree close by and sat down, clutching her teddy bear. She listened on to their conversation, hoping she might be able to find a little more info about what she should do now. She decided that if she wanted to make friends she would have to be outgoing. She stepped around the tree, hidden completely by the shadows. She approached the cheerful girl, standing slightly closer then she probably should have by the time she lowered her obscurity revealing her self.

"The shadows are lovely this time of year. Obscuring pain, and danger. An easy place for Mischief to hide." she was nervous talking to someone, so she obscured herself again without thinking, and continued to speak from her invisibility, while walking around the two, "When you focus on the light, or the moon, you miss all the little things that love in night." she revealed herself once more now standing on the opposite side of Melody. "Don't you think?"

Alex wrapped his arms around himself as he made a beeline for the dorms. The young man was from California. He was wearing a t-shirt, some jeans, and a light jacket. He was happy to be in the academy, that was true, but he hadn't known it would be so cold. He was followed by what appeared to be a large papercraft, trotting along with him with unnatural agility on short, stubby legs.

"Boxdog." BoxDog barked, as they reached the dorms.
"I know, I know. We can unpack when we get inside." He said, then stepped into the facility. Warm air greeted him. The young man shivered, rosey frostnip dusting his cheeks as he found his room. It was sparse, for now with just a mirror and a bed. The flap that made up BoxDog's mouth distended, and soon, it was regurgitating Alex's luggage. While BoxDog did so, Alex checked himself in the mirror. As always, he was very effeminate. Hell, even beautiful. His height and build made him look more like a skinny girl, and his long, soft, platinum blonde hair was hardly doing him any favors. To top it all off, he had big, sapphire-blue eyes with long lashes.

"We should probably look for the auditorium." He said to BoxDog. He was very soft-spoken. He opened the door to his dorm, and despite his magical upbringing, he was a bit taken aback when he saw luggage following a girl in an amazingly pimped-out dress.

"A-ah! Miss!" Alex called after Viola. Even his voice made him seem like a girl. He was very soft-spoken, and when he was nervous it only became moreso. "Um. You wouldn't happen to know where the auditorium is, would you?" He asked. If anyone knew where things were, it was likely to be the person who was levitating their luggage around.

• The Breakfast University of Magic •

Hilda was shocked when she suddenly found herself under a midnight sky. The blue light dissipated, and before her stood the campus of the Breakfast University of Magic. She clenched the strap of the bag that held her spear and sheathed sword, and breathed, in and out. Hilda had never been so far from her family before, and her hesitant walking pace showed that. But in order not to look like a nervous wreck in front of the entire student body, Hilda distracted herself with other thoughts. The parting advice her siblings gave her immediately came to mind, and during most of the wait for the opening ceremony to begin, it was all Hilda was thinking about; Camilla pestered her to study hard, Burkhard told her to make lots of friends, Guntram said to exercise everyday, and Frauke, well.

Frauke said that if anyone dared to start anything with Hilda, she should take her spear and pierce thirteen holes in each of their lungs. Hilda was sure that wasn't allowed.

A cold shiver ran up Hilda's spine as she walked, the school map in her hand to guide her to the right place. Even in that giant fur trim coat and woollen turtleneck sweater of hers, Hilda could still feel the midnight breeze nipping at her exposed fingertips. She quickened her pace (almost falling over another student as a result, in which she gave the person an apologetic wave) in hopes she could at least warm herself up a little. When she arrived a bit earlier than needed, Hilda just quietly waited. What else could she do other than that? Setting her suitcases aside, Hilda stood against a wall and just stayed there. For some reason, Hilda felt the atmosphere around her become very, very awkward.

She took this time to glance around at the other students and the huge buildings that surrounded them. Hilda was really being hurled out of her comfort zone this year. So many faces she didn't know, completely new locations to get used to, she had never experienced such things all at once before. But the unsettling feeling of an unfamiliar environment brought encouragement for discovery and new beginnings. Hilda couldn't deny the the fluttering of excited butterflies in her stomach.

Yet still, the cold bothered her. No one else seemed to be wearing jackets as thick as hers, and Hilda couldn't help but think why. Some of the students that walked past carried coffee flasks in their hands, and one boy that stood a few metres away seemed to be downing a gloriously warm drink to ward of the supposed cold weather. Hilda couldn't help but longingly stare at his cup of coffee, her fingers tangling up impatiently as she continued to wait for the opening ceremony to begin. Oh, what she would do for a cup of hot coffee right now.

Much like, well most everyone who had arrived to this school it was done via a spectacle of a light show. Of course the teleportation glyph's luminous display quickly disappeared as Shen Li Fang slithered off the glyph and took a brief glance at the scenery around her. Of course the night time environment did not provide a good opportunity to see that. At least sightseeing wouldn't be too important yet, obviously there was at least a small mass heading towards the same area for the same purpose. It just made sense.

However in the back of her mind, Fang was debating why she chose the shorter cheongsam which exposed her legs to the elements. Her lips curled to the side as she let go of two rolling suitcases to brush at her legs in an attempt for a bit of warmth. But that action was stopped as there was some hissing and clattering occurring in the right suitcase. Grimacing as she knew the snakes got out of the bag and needed to be returned to the bag Li reclaimed both of her suitcases and began to make her way in a direction where hopefully no one else could bother her too much as she wrangled the snakes.

And as she made her in that direction she soon began to realize that, she did not pick the 'wall of solitude.' Or perhaps she did and it was the "brooding hour" as one of her many brothers, Shen Ah Bai, had taught her about. Fang did as her brother told her to do when encountering a potential brooder, Li Fang nodded at Hilda's direction while not trying to make eye contact or communicate vocally as to not enrage them.

Of course the hissing and continued cluttering from the briefcase did not help her matter. Shen Li Fang simply glanced at Hilda and smiled a bit as she intended to discretely open her bag in order to rearrange the snakes.

Melody's face lit up with excitement as a boy approached her, and as he opened his mouth to speak, she said, "Oh my god hi! I'm Melody!" Before closing the gap between the two of them, as the boy continued to ask her for directions. "Ahhhhh you must be new here!" She said, the tempo of her voice quickening almost every syllable, a grin starting to spread from ear to ear "You must be so excited, a whole new school a new year, a new life, new adventures, new friends." She said, quickly getting lost in her words, externalizing her own feelings about the year onto the poor unfortunate soul who had sought help from her. "This is my second year back, and I can hardly contain myself, so who knows how you must be feeling?" She then placed her hands on his shoulders, about to twirl around him, when suddenly a second voice interjected and caused Melody's head to spin, looking for the source.

Soon, she found it, as a girl materialized across from her, and by the gods, she almost threw herself across the way, bumping into several passer-bys as she landed in front of the girl, almost tripping over herself, "You're so right! The shadows are so pretty, and dark and og my god you can turn invisible can't you??" She said, her voice breathy, as she almost hummed with excitement and intrigue, "That's so amazing! What kind of magic even is that?" She said, circling her new friend because of course, they were friends now. She then paused, realizing she had forgotten about the boy who had first greeted her, and waved him over, "Come on over here, we can all head to the mess hall together! I want to know everything about both of you." She said, her voice dripping with a kind of joy some may think impossible.

Iron Atwood

The smooth melodies of Micheal Bublé belted out of the speaker of the smart phone that lay on the bedside table as Iron busied himself with the task of unpacking. He had intentionally arrived earlier than needed so that he could get some of the unpacking done before the opening ceremony. However the early arrival had other benefits that Iron enjoyed even more than that of having his unpacking done early chiefly that it meant he could avoid the arrival of the first years. It wasn’t that he had anything against the first years, it was just that after having been around for the arrival last year he was fairly certain it would play out in the same general manner each and every year moving forward. Beyond dodging the arrival of the first years Iron’s early arrival also meant that he had first choice of the beds. This happened to be a choice he exercised most happily as he lay back on the bed having just finished storing the last of his clothes in his armoire. After a few moments of laying arms spread wide with the sound of Sam Cooke serenading him Iron checked his watch and decided it was time to get a move on. Standing he grabbed his jacket and courier bag, adjust his tie in the mirror, slipped in a pair of earbuds and made his way out to the thoroughfare.

As he made his way through the crowds of new and returning students Iron hummed along to the music playing in his ears. Not having need of the map nor the need to stop and ask for directions it was a quick jaunt from the dorms to the train station where the student body had been asked to congregate for the opening ceremony. Arriving somewhat early Iron found himself a seat near the back of the room, just a few feet in front of two other students who had both positioned themselves against the back wall. Iron gave the girls a curt nod acknowledging their presence before settling into his seat, digging into his bag and pulling out a sketchbook. With his sketchbook out, and Micheal Bublé once again crooning into his ear Iron resumed work on the design of his newest automaton.

The teleportation glyph shone with life as Mede threw open the barrier between it and the school, ushering hundreds of new students inside. The ages between them were varied; others were old enough to be adults, others were barely looked past seven. Still, all of them looked around in wonder as they were met with the sight of the schools entrance: A large marble arc with all sorts of figures carved into it. The fairies that usually roamed around the school had gathered, creating a brilliant display of light, while the familiars of older students joined in. One student had flown above them riding a giant pigeon.

"So welcome everyone! Oh, and please don't form contracts with the fairies, or they'll all start asking for one. Anyway, while I'd like to officially welcome you to the university, that's not my job! So instead, I'd like to call on the man who's job that is. Headmaster sir, if you'd please?" said Mede, gesturing the man, who'd just landed in from the sky.

"Thank you for that, Mede. First up, I'd like to thank you for coming. It does my heart joy to see new students walk through that portal. Secondly, I can see some of you trying to form a contract with the fairies. I advise you to reconsider - trust me, you will not be able to pay their price, and thirdly, I think I'll continue this introductory speech on the train."

Question marks popped up as the new students looked around for any sign of a train. With the light brightening the area made it clear that while grandiose, the area they were in was a train station, they didn't see any sign of a train.

Suddenly, a powerful wind blew towards them, nearly blowing away the fairies and causing a few students to trip. All of a sudden, a gigantic silver-and-black train had appeared right behind the Headmaster.

"That would be so much more exciting, don't you think?" said the Headmaster with a slight smile.

The rest of the ceremony would occur on the train, finally stopping at the Communal Mess Hall, where a large feast of a breakfast was being prepared.

Theo was about to start jogging towards the mess hall when he saw that he was standing in front of the Cotton Store, just a building over from the student dorms. He knew he was in room 2-A which would probably be on the bottom floor, so it should be pretty quick to dash over there and drop off his luggage. It'd certainly be a lot more convenient then carrying it everywhere...

After he found his room, he laid his suitcases on one of the beds and dashed out of the dorm building to find a train had taken up residence where there wasn't one before. Since everyone seemed to be boarding or getting into position to board, Theo just joined in with the crowd and found a seat somewhere.

A train does make way more sense, I'm pretty sure it'd take at least half an hour to walk all the way. That'd be a pain to get between the dorms and classes every day. The boy waited for a few minutes as the rest of the passengers boarded, then with a sudden lurch the train began moving. Maybe moving was an understatement. It was straight up booking it down the track, jet-fast. Theo thought the headmaster was speaking, but he was too busy holding on for dear life to the seat he was sitting on to really pay attention that much.

I... May... Want... To... Walk... Next... Time... he whispered under his breath as he looked out the window next to him. He couldn't even tell what anything was, unless the entire campus was actually a blur instead of just looked like one. However, the high speed train did an excellent job at getting them where they needed to go incredibly quickly. It took significantly longer to just board the train then it did for the train to move all the way across campus. After the train stopped, Theo took a second to breathe and calm his heart which was beating rather heavily after that whole ordeal.

After he calmed relatively down, he pulled himself to his feet and waited for an opening in the mass of people trailing towards the exits. As he waited, he turned to the student waiting in front of him and asked, "Hey, did you catch any of what the headmaster said? I may have missed... pretty much all of it," and followed up with a sheepish chuckle. It was at this point that he realized the knuckles on his right hand had turned slightly white from gripping his thermos too hard, and so moved it to his other hand and began opening and closing his fist to work out the tension. "I might have been a bit distracted during his speech."

-Anyone feel free to be the student he's talking to, otherwise he'll just be a throw-away NPC-

No, the Mess Hall would be boring...it was the breakfast she was looking forward too the most, even if she wasn't the most big fan of 'breakfast' who in their right minds at breakfast at 2 AM anyways? She wasn't even hungry...though that was also because of the tea she had before she left. Giving credit where it was due - her master can make some delicious tea. She was pretty sure it wasn't normal tea either considering a number of things. Hm, she supposed she should get her luggage to her dorm then. Room 80-C was it?

"A-ah! Miss! Um. You wouldn't happen to know where the auditorium is, would you?"

"Aha?~" Before she could give directions to her cute little helpers, it seemed someone wanted her help. Viola rolled over on the pile of luggage, onto her stomach, supporting her head on the back of her hands with her elbows resting on top of them. The person asking the question, was not quite what she expected. "Oh my, aren't you an adorable little thing." She giggled impishly, holding a hand over her mouth. "T'would be a shame if someone gave you the wrong directions. Wouldn't want you to end up in the graveyard at this hour, would we?" She giggled again, giving Alex a friendly smile.

"Do you not have a map, though? Tsk, I suppose I'll help then. There's a train - careful though, it's pretty fast. Take it to the giant tower down the road...and you're basically there!~ The Mess Hall is to the left of the Tower if you're facing it. Oh, and don't forget your student ID and things...you'll need those to get into the Grave-ahem, Mess Hall. They're very picky about security here, silly heads~" She giggled again, offering Alex a bright smile before hopping off the pile of luggage, which began to float again once she removed herself from it.

"Try not to get lost, hmm? I suppose you could just follow the mass of other students too if you feel like it, if you prefer being a little sheep instead. Come find me later and maybe we can get better acquainted, yes? I am Viola by the way, and I would love to stay and chat." The luggage she had with her started floating into the Dorm building of their own accord. "But I have things to do and the little ones get a teeny bit antsy around new people." She didn't seem to elaborate on who exactly the 'little ones' were. Instead she hopped into the train herself before he could reply.

Tsk, if she could get her hands on a Slyph all she'd have to do is just fly. Trains were so loud, noisy, and inelegant. Efficient, though, especially this one. It was amusing to watch some of the new students nearly lose their non-existent lunch too. Perhaps she'd still take the train even if she got herself a funny little spirit. Even so, the crowd was not something she was fond of. Perhaps she'd have something scare everyone until they left the room? A number of fear-related spirits could easily do such a thing...

Soon enough though, the train had found its way to the Mess hall and Viola departed quickly, before the huge crowds blocked all the exits and she found herself standing in front of the Mess Hall.

Kai had never met any magic user of his age and he was fascinated with what the two girls looked like. And the magic one of them used fascinated him even more, it looked like could hide in the shadows becoming invisible, compared to what Kai could do that was really awesome, but giving it some thought Kai still liked his magic more.

"Yes, this is my first year, I'm so excited for it to start. We are going to have some kind of breakfast now right? My uncle told me about it. He said for the first year students it was an awesome event. I had heard stories of this place, but it looks even better than what I imagined." Kai start following the girl to wherever she was going while continuing to talk non stop, now talking with the second girl, while doing strange movements with his hands and arms. "What you did was awesome, really different from my magic. Mine is more "ZUUUM" and "WUUUUSH" and "WOOOOW". And you... Melody, that's your name right? What is your magic like?

The two girl could see the excitement overflowing from Kai, even if looked like he was older than them he didn't act like it, he looked like a child in a candy store.

~Nialla~

He sat on top of the highest building on campus. The wind blew his hair, causing it to fall on his face. He was silent, watching his fellow students move about the campus grounds with little to no worries except passing their classes. It wasn't like him to be up this early, but he couldn't sleep. He had tossed and turned all night long. His dreams were nightmares. He had visions of death, of chaos and destruction. It was too much for his psyche to bare causing him to wake up every two hours throughout the night. Sighing, he twisted his wrist and his violin appeared in his lap. Picking it up slowly, he placed it on his shoulder beneath his chin and slowly began to play a mournful song.

As he played, the wind seemed to respond, and the clouds above began to darken slightly. The music was faint at first, and only he could hear it, but as he continued to play, the music began to penetrate every inch of the school. Those who knew him would know immediately what was happening. It was his normal routine to play his violin during the day but never had he played it this early. This was his second year at B.U.M and he had to admit that he had enjoyed every moment, even though he still missed his ex. The song was evidence of his mourning. Some students who heard the music began to cry, the music bringing back painful memories. Nialla continued to play, letting out his heartbreak, his loneliness, and his sadness in the music. A crowd had begun to form at the bottom of the building he was positioned on top of. They simply enjoyed the music and he never disappointed them.

Finally, he finished and the violin vanished as he grabbed his bag and jumped from the top of the building. The descent down felt good. The wind fiercely struck his falling form until he landed on his feet with a soft thud. He looked around at those gathered and offered a nod before heading off in the opposite direction. He wanted to be alone for a bit, but he needed to stop by his dorm that he shared with two other people.

She takes a step back, her Blood red eyes almost glowing in the moonlight. "One does not go invisible, I merely obscure myself from the world, from others eyes.." she then turned her head and stared at the over excited boy, he eyes never blinking, which was common for her, one who lives in the shadows need not blink from its absence of light. "You seem full of light, the antithesis of my existence. " She moved a step further away, "I must get to the train, Good bye, fleeting lights." she said as she disappears again. A few students were watching her talking for a moment, "Isn't that the cursed child?" "Yeah, we should avoid her, she creeps me out."

Luna moved to the train, and rode it to the Mess hall and followed the crowd until she was stopped at the entrance next to a rather interesting girl, she slowly revealed herself, this time it was not from magic but her natural lack of presence, and misdirection. "Hello, what a lovely night we have here, I hope we find ourselves in the graveyard, that I've heard so much about," she looked at the girl intensely hoping that by staring she would create a sense of relief and friendship.

Ah, so this was it for now, one final cup of tea, presented not only to his master but his own parents as well before being sent off to the University. The man with purple hair was poised as still as a statue, eyes unwavering as he solely focused on the cups filled not too low but neither to the brim; such intricacies were to be duly noted whilst traversing the road to excellency.

In truth, he was nervous, even with his smile as he awaited the confirmation of both parties. Did he make sure to boil in at the right temperature? Was experimenting with a new batch of shoots such a pleasant idea at all? He just stood there, subserviently watching as he heard the sounds of the minuscules sips fill the vacant room, gala's once transpiring in this huge space.

As cacophony and conflict rose inside him, mixed with the memories, he was suddenly brought back by dual whispers by his two parents. Their eyes were widened in shock, and from the tone of their voice, there was nothing else, save for pleasantries and compliments that his ears did not comprehend.

"Klaus, marvelous tea as per expected my boy," a hearty voice erupted out jovially from behind the rather large and gaudy couch, the man turning just slightly to acknowledge the magi. Klaus made a slow and shallow bow, his smile lengthening just a little before standing up erect again. "Even your parents are surprised by how splendid this batch tastes, but honestly, they shouldn't be," the man gruffly chuckled before taking another sip.

"I'm glad to have met expectations Master, thank you for such kindly complements," he turned to Gerald, addressing him with a demure, but blithe voice. "And thank you, mother and father, for such words as well; it warms me to see that my skills have not dealt a disservice you both," he spoke, turning towards his parents and smiling brightly at them as duo looked back at the boy.

"Come on kiddo', y'don't need to be so formal around us, we aren't gonna judge ya or anything," the woman chuckled, taking another gulp of her tea. Before Klaus' father had a chance to speak, the man interjected, looking back to the boy with an impish twinkle in his eyes. He recognized it and pondered on what type of joke the Master had prepared for today.

"Klaus, you did include the special... you know... component to the tea?"

One brief glimpse at his parents puzzled faces told Klaus he had just sewn the seeds of curiosity into their faces... as much as he did wish to defy one of his Master's jokes, he currently (well, never, mostly) couldn't decline being roped into it... but he could always diffuse and play against it all. Giving his Master the same smile he had on his face since the start of this gala for four, he turned to Gerald and gave him a peppy assertion.

"Hm? Ah, yes, of course Master, all the components have been included for the Baihao Yinzhen tea."

The man raised an eyebrow. Was this one of those times where he managed to best his Master against his joke? Apparently not as the flat line that were his lips began to smile once more. "Even the cocaine, right?" Klaus froze as his Master seemed to savor those words before his eyes quickly jutted towards his parents, both of which were just as wide eyed as him, staring into their now empty cups.

Then, the older man began giggling. It wasn't long before he erupted into deafening laughter as his father questioned what was wrong with him. Wiping a tear from his cheek, he slowly began to calm down as Klaus held his breath.

"You all need to lighten up, that's what the problem is here," he announced, one finger up into the air before flexing two more out and pointing all three of them at the Knuez Family. "You all are so tense and stiff! Come, come, this is Klaus' indoctrination into BUM! Be a little more relaxed, he'll do fine! This goes for you too, boyo'."

While his parents were still trying to process that his whole fiasco about drugging the teat was a joke, Klaus was still somewhat stiff, despite mitigating most of the damage of shock from this short experience. "You'll succeed Klaus, not only as a butler, but one of my many apprentices; a magi!"

"I should hope so too," he said, making eye contact with the man as he spoke with a hint of doubt in the back of his neck. Gerald just rolled his eyes and muttered "close enough."

Without any more formalities, Klaus and his parents anxiously chuckled and chatted over the Grandmasters minute joke as the young butler gathered most of his items he was taking to school. Hoisting it all onto a luggage trolley, Klaus sucked in a breath of fresh air as he departed.

So this is where it would all truly begin, would it not?

As a blue light enveloped him, Klaus made sure to shield his eyes for the brief moment it took to transport him... and apparently hundreds of other students.

The young butler kept his composure as he stood as still as a door nail, placing a gloved finger onto his lip as he stared into the darkened sky. Despite how chilly it was, Klaus wasn't exactly bothered by the cold weather as he prepared with proper insulation!

Gripping tightly onto the trolley, he slowly turned his attention to the myriads of buildings which dotted the landscape. Truth be told, he was rather excited to sort of be out on his own! This should truly be an experience to remember!

As he walked around, he saw multitudes of different people of different ages, even a few stood out amongst the crowds with their height and floating suitcases! My word, what an abundance of unique individuals!... how would he compare to them all.

Clearing his throat to no one in particular, Klaus pressed his free hand against his tie, making sure it was sharp and presentable as he did his best to study it all. Eventually, he confirmed with a pleasant sigh that, yes, every piece of his clothing from his cuffs, collar, purple jacket, everything was truly prepared for the day ahead.

While he did procure a map a while ago, he just decided to roll with the crowd; wherever it took him would be a good place to start! Plus, most of the people seemed to understand where they were going for the whole ceremony (from what he presumed), so why not follow suit?

After a few minutes of brushing against the wandering crowd and getting a few peculiar looks... he honestly felt like taking a gander at his map and figuring out his current location. Shaking his head, he excused himself through the crowd, nodding, bowing, and apologizing as he pushed the trolley along.

Eventually he let it rest against one of the buildings walls and began shuffling through the bags immediately for the place he thought he left it. Once he sought it, he let out a small, triumphant "aha."

Relegating himself to the wall, the butler did not lean, but rather kept his crisp posture as he went about, looking over the locales and trying to discover where he was.

Placing a gloved hand up to his chin, he began massaging his lips with his index finger before properly noting where was. With a brief nod, he delicately returned the parchment to the assigned place, giving the luggage a bit of a pat before returning to the wall.

There wasn't much to do than wait for further signs of where he might go, so he continued observing the world around him, including one lady he was standing by! Ah, he truly didn't notice the woman was there... Klaus mentally cursed himself for his lack of observation this time around, finding it unbefitting of a butler.

... hm? The first thing he noticed was the way the way the young lady was acting... nervous? Anxious? Mayhaps, but could it be a part of the cold weather? Eyes drifted away from the shorter girl and over... a woman in a kimono? No that term wasn't right... oh!

That was when he noticed someone downing a rather warm looking drink; he could tell based on the way the steam swirled with the atmosphere... hm. Maybe he could make this young woman some tea or offer one of his jackets to her? After all, he should do his best to serve others... as peculiar as that sounds with not knowing anyone around here.

... but it wouldn't hurt, as he could gain a new friend.

"Pardon me, Miss," he meekly spoke up to the woman in a thick coat, a smile shining brightly on his face as he brushed away some of his purple hair. "But would you like to borrow one of my coats? You look quite a bit chilly; wouldn't want to get frostbite now, would you, hm," he chuckled a bit nervously at the joke, attempting to match his Master's charisma.

Of course, before he even got the chance to possibly garner a response from the lady, there was an announcement from a few men outside of his range that he saw thanks to his height. It wasn't that difficult to peer over and see someone land from the sky, though to did mystify him a bit... hm.

He should try that out some time with his magic when if he ever reached that pinnacle of mastery.

But how curious, a train? While there was naught a single piece of metal that was apparent in his field of sight as he paused to look around before waiting patiently instead. Maybe this was one of those times where the school wanted to awe their students? Just like Master Gerald with them early on.

While he was busy waiting some form of confirmation from the train, he didn't bother addressing one of the fae that buzzed around his ears. He would respect the Headmasters wishes and explanation as to why as he turned his head to face the lady once more.

"La-"

He wasn't even able to properly begin his sentence before a train abruptly appeared out of no where, interrupting that one little inquiry of his. The butler blinked a few times, trying to comprehend where the train came from. It was... a lot to take in at the moment. After spending a few seconds musing over the locomotive, he concluded it with a simple hm and a tilt of his head. He seemed a bit eager to board as a small smile formed on his lips.

"I hope you can pardon me for the abrupt rudeness over the, erm... one-sided conversation... and the ending to it all," Klaus poke in a friendly, meek demeanor, turning to fully face the girl. Striping his hand away from the luggage trolley, he gave the woman in the thick coat a short bow before latching back onto it.

"Regardless, mayhaps I might see you again, I suppose? My offer still stands, after all" Klaus asked himself, tilting his head back a bit to eye the lady and gave her one last quaint smile. Hm, maybe, maybe not... he guessed that was that for now as he let out a breathless sigh and merged with the crowds and hopped onto the train...

... of course, the fleetingness of the ceremony ended up matching the trains speed. It was somewhat difficult to adjust to the vehicle, his eyes bulged a bit in surprise at the speed this traveled... he had to even use his magic to keep himself station so the trolley wouldn't roll around!

Upon their arrival, the boy eased himself out of the set he gave himself, feeling motion come back to his now rigid and tense body. It was a difficult feeling shaking it off, so he stayed attached to the trolley, letting other people leave first... it was only polite to do so and the wait would help his muscles relax just a tinge.

Sucking in a breath, Klaus was one of the last few people out of the train, walking behind a few of the new students who spoke about how exhilarating this was while the latter placed a hand over their mouth. Klaus couldn't help but be in-between for both of their statements as he broke away from the group and went to the buildings that he recalled were labelled "dorms" on the map.

While breakfast with a spot of tea was a delectable thought, it would of been better to drop off his clothes at his room and arrange them properly first. Dragging the trolley along, he slowly traversed towards one of the buildings before pausing for a moment and procuring another set of papers from his luggage that detailed some of this information.

Giving it a quick look over, Klaus bobbed his head down a bit after affirming it all, ending this all with a punctuated "hm" as he set it back into the case. With that knowledge, he set his sights on the dorm was assigned and quickly went in that direction.

"I-I'm taller than you. And I'm not adorable." He said, pouting a little, glaring at Viola. He was still pretty short at only five feet tall, so the effect was more cute than anything else. His face was a bit red, but that could just as easily have been from the cold. Still, she was going to help him, so he didn't see much sense in getting too bent out of shape. Instead, he fished a pencil out of his pocket. He beckoned with his finger, and BoxDog trotted over. The creature seemed to be getting squatter and smaller, until it was the right size to be fit in Alex's hand. Hastily, he scrawled her directions down.

"Why does the school have a graveyard?" He asked her, but at that point, she was already leaving. He put BoxDog down, then headed back to his dorm, opening the door. There was one last thing he wanted to do.

"Shikigami." He said, holding out his hand towards the bed. A small puff of smoke erupted, and in its place was a five foot by five foot mass of paper, black, with eyes and mouths scrawled all over it. "I'll just have half you hang out here for now, please." The eyes moved along the surface of the paper, as the creature split into two. One of the pieces floated under the bed, sticking to the floor, while the other one disappeared back into the ether.

When Alex stepped out, he'd changed into a heavier blue parka, with fleece lining the inside. BoxDog trotted alongside him. "Now, where's the train?" He wondered quietly to himself. It was then that a large, silver blur nearly knocked him over. He got on, and took a seat. He put his earbuds in, He'd decided to use this new school to reinvent himself. Namely, he wanted to be more outgoing and less timid. He supposed asking for help was a good start, though he wondered if he should have said more when she called him adorable...? Hell, maybe she was trying to compliment him.

"Shikigami. Mirror, please." He said. Shikigami appeared in front of him. The creature twisted and curved. One of its eyes was facing Alex. The other side of it then changed color, until it was a perfect image of him. He had to admit, he wouldn't have been suprised if she thought he was a girl. He was jolted from his introspection as the train stopped.

Getting out, Alex immediately saw the tower that Viola had referred to. He also heard violin music. Where the hell was it coming from? He looked to the left, and...That didn't look like the mess hall. That looked like the graveyard. He looked to the right, and that was definitely the messhall. He picked up BoxDog, who had been sitting next to him, and double checked the directions. She'd gotten him halfway there, at least. She'd seemed nice, if a bit odd. Maybe she was just bad at giving directions?

It was then that someone fell to the ground from the top of the tower. Alex watched as Nialla nodded to him, then ran off in completely the wrong direction. Alex supposed this was the sort of thing that happened at magic school. He headed off to the messhall. It wasn't long before he picked out the girl from earlier. Granted, it wasn't like it was hard too. There was another girl there too. Alex noted her white hair and red eyes. An albino.

"H-hi..." He said, a bit quietly, before remembering his resolution. "Um. Thanks for the directions. They were really helpful." He said to Viola.

Hilda wasn't expecting many social interactions before the opening ceremony began, which seemed evident from the people who would simply give her friendly nods in her direction. She wasn't sure why - perhaps standing against a wall looking all dark and brooding had somehow gained the attention of some - but she liked to believe they meant well. So when a fellow student decided to approach her, Hilda flinched. She wasn't exactly prepared to engage in small talk so early on in the day.

Hilda looked up - which was something she rarely found herself doing - to face a boy dressed in notably formal and smart clothing. A purple tuxedo it seemed, upon closer inspection. She had to admit that his choice of attire was a little strange for a student, heck, she was questioning if he even was a student because of that. His offer to let her borrow one of his coats was also strange. Was she really shivering that much that people were beginning to notice?

Hilda lifted her hand in apology and softly shook her head. Although his offer had good and well meaning intentions behind it (to her assumption anyways), she thought that her own large coat was enough to keep her alive. Hilda simply smiled at him as a way to show appreciation for his concern, as well as for being the first person to try and have a conversation with her since she arrived. Her face didn't blatantly show it, but his actions were very much appreciated.

But apparently, a train was due to arrive, according to the headmaster's words. Hilda saw no sight of one.

"...and thirdly, I think I'll continue this introductory speech on the train. That would be so much more exciting, don't you think?" said the headmaster.

That was until it did come into sight in that split second, a powerful gust of wind knocking one of the floating fairies into her face. Hilda's eyes widened.

"I hope you can pardon me for the abrupt rudeness over the, erm... one-sided conversation... and the ending to it all," the boy said, and Hilda could only shake her head once again to tell him not to worry about it. She found it ever the more strange when he made a short bow to her, but nevertheless, she responded with a short nod, giving the boy a gentle smile as he did to her.

"Regardless, mayhaps I might see you again, I suppose? My offer still stands, after all."

Ah...

The boy left quickly alongside the rest of the new students to board the train, and as soon as she reached out her hand to actually talk, he was already gone. Hilda noted that she definitely had to get better at this whole social interaction thing, because it was only when the boy had disappeared that she remembered to ask for his name.

Hilda followed the rest of the students into the rather glamorous looking train and took a seat, clutching her bags as she sat down by a window. She gazed out of it as she waited for other students to board and for the headmaster to continue his introduction. Nothing intriguing had actually caught her eye, but Hilda rarely ever got out of her own estate back at home. Riding on a special train like this was sort of a first for her.

But then the train started to move. Really, really fast.

Hilda was not prepared, she wasn't even used to moving at such high speeds. The abrupt movement of the train sent her head slamming into the seat in front of her, and by the time the short journey ended, Hilda thought she was seeing stars. She had tried her best to concentrate as the headmaster spoke, but having your head crash into someone else's seat made it that much harder to do so.

And once she had stepped off the train, her nose began to bleed. Curse her inexperience with absurdly fast trains, Hilda was seeing red all over her coat.

Curse her choice of coat as well. Bright red didn't exactly blend in well with the colour grey. She held her left sleeve to her face and had her right hand scramble around in her pocket for the campus map, because if there was one place where she could clean herself up away from the public eye, it would be her dorm room. Dorm 6... It was far. Fortunately, not many people were walking in the same direction as her. The mess hall could wait.

Unfortunately, on the way to her dorm, Hilda caught sight of a familiar purple tuxedo by one of the dorm buildings. She immediately knew who it was; there couldn't possibly be anyone else in the school who was dressed up like some nobleman's butler. Hilda's stained coat made her look like she had just murdered someone, and the one person that could possibly catch sight of her in this sorry state just happened to be someone she actually recognised.

Flushing a bright embarrassed red, Hilda bolted, hoping she would find her dorm room soon. She had hoped she would be able to ask for the boy's name another time, but this was not the way she expected to see him again.
