Yang watched. "How did you?" She realized the group was now in a palace like place that she realized was not real but if Deus had powers to make things apppear like ponys she was beginning to get a bad feeling from him.

"So what you are suggesting is we break the rules.." She said understanding quite well what he was getting at.

"Of course! This fellow obviously isn't 'noble and just' now, is he? In fact, I'm going to take a stand and dub him as a bad guy until further questioning. As a noble hero of justice, I state we need to break free from his eeeeeeeeeeeeeeevil rulings!" Straight face. Come on, you can do it. Deus turned around rapidly to hide his massive smile. Him, a hero of justice? However, when in rome, do as the romans do. And as he was obviously in the company of heroes, with the obvious exceptions of Beatrice and Victor Von Doom, it would be best to act as such. He had little confidence in the ruse, but he was a demon of the theater after all, and acting was in his blood. Although Deus wasn't sure he had blood to begin with. He had blood when he wanted to, he knew that, but was it natural to him? Then again, was anything natural to him?
Deus was not a creature of philosophy, and soon forgot such thoughts, instead causing it to rain puppies and kittens around Victor Von Doom for petty amusement. In fact, Deus decided to make it his personal goal to transform Victor from his hateful, prideful, determined, aggressive self, into a peace-loving pacifist. While pacifists weren't very interesting overall, the transformation would be quite a masterpiece, taking ages of work, cunning, manipulation, and quite probably brain surgry. But it was all about the journey, and Deus was sure hijinks would ensue from this decision.

Yang smirked. "Well I like your way of thinking." She said after hearing Deus out. His idea could actually work if they defied the Gamemaster possibly. What happened after that she would have to let the pieces fall where they may and things play out.

Sakuya heard was Deus mentioned. She really seemed calm, but she took seriously the fact of the one year limit. "It would be a wise and unwise choice. Two-edged knife, I say.", she commented.

Autumn tucked the chocolate wrapper into a pocket.

I'm going to follow that silhouette. From what I've heard we don't know enough to do anything but what we've been told to do.

Deus sighed at the blindness of these people. Regardless of what would keep them alive, Deus was sure that his course of action would be far more amusing, at least to him, and that was the important part. However, he knew a reason like that would hold no weight with these people. "We're screwed if we follow that shadow. This Game Master obviously has this whole thing planned out, and he wants us to play along. This is a cruel game for his sadistic sense of joy, as he appears to be a being of sufficient power to destroy us all with a thought. There's no way we're going to survive if we follow along in his plan. However, if we stop following the plan, and diverge from the intended path, I'm hoping to annoy him. Frustrate him. Get him nice and angry. If he's angry, he'll quite likely leave an opening or opportunity he would not have allowed to show had his head been clear. Unless you attach no value to your lives and the lives of your loved ones, you should stay here." Deus smiled, looking around the room quite impressed with his speech. He was sure he'd convince them all with the whole 'your friends are going to die if you screw up' angel. He'd used that one more often.
Sitting down, Deus pulled out a bubble pipe, and smoked it, small bubbles floating upwards gently. He had nothing more to say, and thus, he assumed the ultimate gentlemanly waiting position, with both tea and a bubble pipe. He also grew a quite impressive moustache, which perfectly trimmed itself, as a monocle appeared on his left eye. While on a gentleman in a black suit it might have looked stylish, if a bit silly, on Deus, who wore a bright red sparkling suit, it looked positively ridiculous. To be fair, however, this was quite probably what Deus was going for in the first place.

Sakuya looked at the silhouette and questioned herself if it was ood to keep following it. She waited anyone's reactions before doing a certain move.

Yang was amazed at what Deus always said. She was giving the impression he knew more about this whole situation then he let on. Making a mental note to not trust him so easily she looked at him. "Great plan. We stay here there is a risk our worlds will be destroyed by this GameMaster. He said it himself...in one year..."

The way Deus had spoke this out, it was in a way that Beatrice would think of herself. "Breaking the rules was always my greatest priority anyways...." she said with a light chuckle, acknowledging his plan that they could follow. Holding her pipe, or kiseru, to her lips, Beatrice then spoke,"What of the chance that we are found out before we could do anything? I doubt it would happen so soon, but it would be a little more amusing to "pretend" we're going along with this GameMaster's plan, and then start breaking the rules. It's funny to see the shock of a person's face after a sudden betrayal." Being a Gamemaster herself in the Meta-World, Beatrice knew perfectly how to deceive others during her time "messing" around with her opponents.

"He's a gamemaster, silly. We're adventurers. You could go and have a drink in a tavern, and interesting stuff will happen to you. It's the way the universe works. Certain people attract interesting stuff, and someone gathered together a whole group of people like that." Deus smiled. Few people knew this, but it was a pattern he'd noticed. Many scoffed at the idea of cliches existing in real life, but he'd seen it in action too many times to dismiss them as such. Being an ancient being of pure thought and emotion had it's perks, and one was that he managed to see what was in everyone's faces. "Name one time that nothing interesting happened to you. When you run away from the action, you either go back to it, or the action follows you. When you enter a fight, the big shit hits the fan. Nothing climactic or world-changing happens without you, and sometimes it's like the entire world revolves around your own personal emotions and motivations." Deus smiled, and blew out a stream of bubbles. "Girl, this being is powerful enough to smash apart billions of universes. You really think you can walk up to it and stab it in the face? Don't be silly. It'd wipe us all out with a thought. The only hope we have is that it makes a mistake, and we're given a sliver of hope."
Secretly, of course, Deus had an ulterior motive. He really didn't have much hope for this party's chances of survival. The Gamemaster was above even multi-dimensional beings such as Beatrice. It was threatening all of reality. There was a reality for every world conjured up in human thought, and Deus knew a lot about the human imagination. Enough to know that the amount of worlds could not be counted with billions, or googles. They would be nearly infinite. Whatever this gamemaster was, if it was truly the threat it proposed to be, it would have to be nearly omnipotent, and nothing they did mattered. When facing a being of this power scale, you're screwed no matter what you do. Bob was simply interested in using the Palace of Memories to get to know his fellow companions a little more. Do a little bonding. Build up an emotional charge to the scene, maybe mess with someone. Undoubtedly the gamemaster would constantly throw challenges their way, and Deus believed that whatever it was, it most likely shared his sense of dramatic timing and story structure. He was assured in the knowledge that when they all died, they'd do so with a bang.

(* - Red Truth)

"Don't think of me as some simple imbecile then, I have faced and tricked beings like this before. So let me repeat what you want us to do in red, *We will not follow what this GameMaster tells us to, and we have a small chance on surviving by following this tactic. Even so, there is also the chance that this higher being will make a mistake out of frustration, and give us hope to outwit this GameMaster.* What I used was the Red Truth, the red does not lie," Beatrice said with a calm and collected style, crossing her arms. As she spoke those words in red, those same exact words materialized next to her, as if the Red Truth could break the rules of physics by just saying so.

"Those words?" Yang said seeing everything Beatrice said. "So they are the so called truth?" She was not one to believe in magical mumble jumbo despite what she claimed.

"If I tried to lie using the Red Truth, then I would be choking on my own words," Beatrice said to Yang, ensuring that what she said in red was true...well, to what Deus said. If she twisted his plan just a tiny bit, then she would run into a contradiction and choke.

Yang listened. Seeing as Beatrice was still alive she had to believe her.

"I see now." She said. "So what are we going to do? Find the gamemaster or sit around for a year?" She looked at the group.

Deus frowned at learning of this discovery of magic. "Well that's just plain silly. If you choked, you could always move air into your lungs with magic. In fact, using magic, one could completely circumvent the need for breath, You could lie all you want, and nobody would notice." Deus sighed. Most likely, he was the first to come up with this. So many people didn't look past the simple rules. "In any case, you said that we won't do what the gamemaster says. However, we're still planning on defeating him, which is what he literally said we should do. Doesn't that mean that if we move against the GameMaster, you'll choke?" Deus smiled brightly, ready to break down in laughter if this proved to be the truth. It was quite silly using unbreakable statements that included the actions of others, as any others that heard the statement would be able to contradict the statement, simply to cause the statement to become untrue, and thus kill the speaker. In fact, Bob was in half a mind to do what the GameMaker wanted, simply to see what would happen. However, the possibility of the witch blowing them all up to prevent this from occurring was a prominent factor in his decision to PROBABLY not do that.

"I'll only choke when misusing the red," Beatrice said bluntly, not saying anything about how the Red Truth would actually backfire on her.

Yang shrugged.

"Well instead of standing around let's just do something.." She said getting annoyed with them all just loligaging around in this place.

"Very well, very well." Deus sighed. This Red Truth was quite interesting, and he would have loved to learn more. Curiosity was one of his better traits, after all. However, the prospect of doing interesting was quite alluring as well, and as such, he quickly mused on what would be an interesting course of action. "Very well. If we're going to get out of this, we're going to need to learn more about one another. This palace is made from your very own memories, and with your consent, will gladly use more of them. Most of this is just images at the surface of your mind, which you're practically radiating. I'm suggesting we take a walk down a literal Memory Lane, and learn who we all are." Deus grinned eagerly. Not only would this give the group something to do, but surely the memories would take any memories they wished. The process would also grow the Palace, and reinforce it's walls, as it was built from the memories of it's inhabitants.
