Is it safe to assume that our characters have a vague idea of who each other are? Most of them attend the same school and it doesn't seem like we're starting at the beginning of a new school year.

Considering that the vast majority of them are even part of the same club and most aren't even 1st year students, it would be strange —to say the least— that most of them didn't know each quite well to say the truth.

I'd say that the club members would know each other decently enough, at least to form real opinions on each other instead of first impressions. Otherwise we're gonna have to hash out relationships with each other.

I'd say mine was off doing volunteer work after school because of legal services for some time, so she wouldn't be able to get to know anyone on a personal level. But yeah, I'd say she at least remembers the names of those whose class she has been with. Especially those belonging in the Monster Hunting Club. I'm assuming since this is a special school, the population isn't like crazy? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Depending on how far into the year we are it's safe to assume word would have gotten around about that weird kid that makes your powers break if he stands too close to you.

I'm curious as to how Piper's 'Scramble' ability is actually going to interact with some characters Active/Passive Skills. As a standard Silence mechanic, it's easy to see how it could disrupt more caster based characters but what about the characters whose Class Skills are just techniques they use with their weapons?

@Leslie Hall Eh, we could probably do it in character that our character gets a migraine or something to show that their passive fighting prowess is 'silenced', or we could just straight up lose it, it wouldn't be hard to write. I think it'll work as long as we feel like making it work. I don't think you could take away stats from skills which give stats though, or maybe you can, but that would be pretty weird.

@RoflsMazoy Yeah there are some Passive Skills that mention being skilled with a particular weapon or having gone through combat training. I don't see how those are going to be 'silenced'. I may edit the ability to only halt Active Skills.

I was thinking the way the ability would work IC is that when succesfully used, the Enlil Network interface begins to flash rapidly like a siren, with like an 8-bit portrait of a grinning Piper blocking out the screens that display Active Skills, Inventory and Communications.

@Leslie Hall Well, if you're going to limit it like that you should also probably have it disrupt any actives currently active as well to still give it some more punch. Still though, disabling passives can work if we want it to, it'll probably be fine.

You should definitely go further in the FX department though. Maybe you should make the Piper model wink at the affected target before 8-bit chains and stuff lock around the screen, that'd be fancy. Or, maybe even kick the programming aspect up a notch and have Piper set up some if-then-else cases (or technically just cases) that trigger different voice lines and animations when under certain conditions; like say if they're registered as Nemesis it says something different, or if it's an ally etc. That'd be hella cool :D

This is an amazing image.

On the technical side, our Skills are connected to the Enlil network that registers our Class, so I was thinking none of them are really "innate" in that sense - if your Skill makes you strong or tough or implies a proficiency, it's like Neo in the Matrix, a downloaded alteration to your being. Piper can scramble the data.

But even if it were innate, we're magic. Maybe Piper can scramble the data of reality (to the degree that that even is separate from the Enlil Network, which is pretty pervasive given the lack of wires) in such a way that talent vanishes, muscles shrink, armor plating fades for the duration.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the Skill as it stands, and fluff is fluffy, you can always weave it a little differently to the same end. ^^

I'd rather it be me: Yoshi throws himself in the way of an attack targetting an ally and takes the hit, wrapping his arms around the aggressor and immobilizing them for a moment.

Please, take this: Yoshi embraces his ally, healing them while sacrificing a bit of his own life force. This exhausts Yoshi, and he is slowed for a moment after.

This is the only time they're any use..: Yoshi Manifests his inner demons as 3 physical entities; appearing as shadow toned silhouettes of himself. One with a large shield to defend Yoshi and his ally, one with long, sharp and curving claws, and one with the ability to cast intermediate level fire abilities, all intent on keeping their host alive. This ability has a cooldown and once one of the entities has been destroyed, it can not be resummoned until the next battle.

I needed the rest..: If Yoshi is incapacitated while with an ally or while "This is the only time they're any use.." is active, It gives an attack and defense buff to all allies.

Passive

Apathy: Yoshi is hard to stagger, as few can hurt him worse than he's hurt himself.

I've tried it all..: Yoshi has had his fair share of self-harming incidents, all the way up to self-immolation and ingesting toxins. Due to this, he has developed a resistance to all status effects.

Scars: Yoshi has thick skin, giving him a defense buff

Tablet Power:Irony: Yoshi has an accelerated healing factor, allowing him to withstand large amounts of damage and recover from seemingly mortal wounds without the consumption of much energy. "What a sick joke.."

@floodtalon Yeah, that's fine. Technically current applicants would have to be approved by 'Cannon', but since Aito is the only one there (as of right now) he'd probably grant a membership without much qualm.

I apologize for not stating it beforehand and making it more clear. When my character speaks and refers to 'that' person, it can literally be any of the members in the Monster Hunting club. I simply wanted to leave room for improv if someone wanted to play off that sort of relationship. A bit of rivalry banter always spiced things up in my opinion. If not, I can work the established narrative with @Redward later on, if they would be so kind.
