I may as well come out and say it:

I've never liked Spongebob. Ever.

Oh sure, it's good for a few memes here and there but even as a kid I thought its sense of humor was stupid (in case you're wondering, my idea of a fun Saturday morning was Animal Planet when the channel was actually about animals).

Seriously, I would have to agree with you. I searched for a meme stating "I agree with the person above me". I could not find one, but stumbled upon this. thought it was priceless. had to post it. LOL

In WoW you could get to max level in two to three months depending on how often you played.

It's even worse now. Back in Cataclysm I grinded a disc/holy priest to 40 in little under two days. I did have the BoA shoulders, but other than that it was straight questing and dungeon queues. You can somewhat speed run older content by this day and age. WoD is still a slog of an expac to level through, but it eventually balances out once you reach Legion content.

Anyway, regarding the whole Spongebob thing, I've never really cared for it. I don't hate it, but I don't particularly like it either. Mainly because I was more of a Cartoon Network kid instead of Nickelodeon.

I am not familiar to EverQuest, @Gunther. Monstrous or beast races are a nice intermediary however, although the majority of my issue was with actual beasts and not so much beast-men. This is the usual reason I drift toward shapechanging archetypes, so that I can enjoy the medium more, but most are very limited. Worse yet, the majority of media has no real element to it of this and try as I might, I can seem to find none. It is an irrational request of course, but it is something I always strive to fulfill in my consumption of content; perhaps even the overarching one at that. On a related note, I do always find a special novelty in the late 1990s and early 2000s era of gaming and content at large, even if I was never involved in any of them, be it Magic: The Gathering or RuneScape and the like.

I hated it that Blizzard made the grind easier. The old days of taking your time to level allowed it to mean something. Now it is just a gift and there is no value in that. I quit playing around Christmas 2009. I started in Beta 2004.

Regarding the cartoons, channels like Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon came into being when I was an adult. When I was a child, we only had cartoons on Saturday morning. Being from New England, I had only so many channels; 2 (PBS) Boston; 3 (CBS) Hartford, CT; 4 (CBS) Boston; 5 (ABC) Boston; 7 (NBC) Boston; 22 (NBC) Springfield, MA; 40 (ABC) Springfield, MA and 57 (PBS) Springfield, MA. When I was a teenager, they added 38 (IND) Boston.

I remember when I came home from the Army, the number of television stations slowly began to increase. I remember MTV, CNN, C-SPAN, HBO, Showtime, and several other channels came into existence at that time.

I had a lot of fun [in Warcraft] up until 2010 or 2011 when they started streamlining the game and handholding players. I've returned to it sporadically since but never really had as much fun as I did during Burning Crusade.

I think there was a black hole the thread fell into momentarily :D

Anyway, eh, random fact: I have no tattoos and only my ears pierced, although my parentals have agreed that when I hit 18 (I'm 16 now), they will gladly allow me to get my first tattoo provided I've moved out by then :/

*sigh*

I've started to return to WoW here and there too, and went as far to buy Legion. Even if I can't afford it all the time, I've always wanted to max my characters, or max one of every class. I already have a 101 hunter, a 100 mage, 86 paladin, 82 death knight, 73 druid, and 60 warrior right now.

@Dread Pardon me. I am a parental. I found your comment quite humorous, especially the part about moving out to get a tattoo. I think I may borrow that line for my children when they are old enough. So far my 13 year old has not expressed an interest in Tattoos. Neither has her 53 year old father. LOL

Well if he does, then please don't tell him that "tattoo ink is mixed with the devil's blood" and just leave him all bewildered with a "WTF??" face, because that kind of comment really isn't going to win you any brownie points, lol

*sigh*

I laugh to keep from crying...

My adornments are symbolic and were not a matter chosen lightly, more earned than anything else and very few as a whole. Generally on the matter, less is more, and actually standing to gain more only comes from quality and not quantity. Of course it is a cliche of the matter, usually tattoos in particular, but to have one to have one or for the sake of doing something merely appealing or trending is a terrible reason to do so. While of course I am not about to stop anyone from doing so, I find the concept quite personal and laden with all too many stories of regret I hear or have even seen.

Pay heed, young ones, as they say more about who or what someone is or associates themselves with than just what is worn and rest assured if it can be seen, eyes will be on it. After all, it is a remarkably expedient way to gather information about an individual even at a glance and some of us do keep tabs on them.

@The Harbinger of Ferocity, that was the most poetic "Not under my roof missy!" that I've ever read, so thank you for that :D

And if I ever get one, I do hope that it's not just for the sake of inking my pale skin but rather world conquering exploits, etc...

I almost got a tattoo once, but chose not to for some of the reasons The Harbinger of Ferocity mention above. My father had a tat on his forearm that read, "USAF '56 - ". He planned to finish it later with the year he got out but never did. So, I wanted one that read, "US ARMY '82 - '03" just because dad had the same idea. Obviously, mine would pertain to me. But I never did it. I may have also included crossed rifles for Infantry and the image of my regimental crest on a bicep. Again, never did it. Like HoF said, it is definitely a personal thing.

Most people get nervous when going to hospitals and doctor's offices, but I enjoy going; the one exception to this is the dentist, and the one time I had a to have a PICC line. I suppose I've spent so much time in hospitals in my life (in fact, the majority of my first two years were spent in hospitals) that I find it pleasant for the most part.

I've had tons of needles injected into my arms over the course of my life. I have even sustained 10 different bone fractures throughout my life. Regardless, I cannot stand having sharp metal objects in my mouth unless I am inserting food into it. Therefore, I hate going to the dentist.

Medical instruments never bothered me, both because I was exposed to them myself and because I was raised around them, alongside their applications in animals and people alike. Of course I am not one to desire to be stuck, poked, prodded or bothered, but I can at least admit they are effectively a non-issue. I do not believe I have had a bad experience with medicine, other than the obvious like incompetent technicians or prolonged hours spent waiting or days to weeks for an appointment.
