The year is 1935, and Gallia has been once again invaded at the breakout of the Second Europan War between the Atlantic Federation and the Autocratic East Europan Imperial Alliance due to its richness in the Ragnite ore. In response to the sudden invasion, universal conscription across Gallia has reformed, once again, the Gallian Militia to fight alongside the regular military in the hopes of driving back and repelling the invaders like in the previous Europan War. Whilst not as skilled or equipped as the regulars of Gallia's Armed Forces, they make up for their bond in partnership and driven goals to see them return to their peaceful lives as they once lived. Being considered the more expendable of the two main terrestrial branches of the Armed Forces, the Gallian Militia housed a large amount of operations under their belt, whether they were successful or not was down to who was sent on these seemingly suicidal missions.
Enter Squad 11, a rag-tag team from one of many in the 4th Platoon, 2nd Regiment of the Gallian Militia. This regiment, whilst full of different individuals, remains as one of the more scrambled of assembled squads within the regiment. They stand with decent numbers of armed personnel within its ranks, amongst the ability to gain access to smaller vehicles outside of the standard Gallian Tank, such as the Gallian Armoured Personnel Carriers or Light Attack Vehicles. The focus for this squad is to head further East, where an expanding number of Imperial Forces are making headway within. Dense forests, riverside villages and urbanised towns stand between both Squad 11 and the approaching Imperial Army. They hope to push back the invading force, or at least hold them off long enough for gains in the north to be made. Without too much support from the Gallian Military themselves, the sequences of Operations being ignited too and from their headquarters up to the Frontline of the East will start to become more than just a dangerous war.
Welcome to a hopeful Valkyria Chronicles roleplay ran by both myself and @Jinxer, focusing on a separate squad moving to the eastern regions of Gallia in order to press back the invading forces of the empire. Having an emphasis on both the character narrations and development, as well as the progressive battles throughout their journey, this Squad will encounter a large pressing force content on spearheading its way towards the more crucial regions and cities of the nation in the East. Through both physical operations and guerrilla warfare, the unique skills and personalities of the characters are going to be dependent on getting them through the campaign of survival.
Whilst the roleplay itself won't be fully following the canon of the series, though it will still mention and involve certain major events towards the very latter days of the war, the emphasis, combat wise, will be shown on fighting the main backbone to the Imperial military as oppose to what the original cast had to put up with. Throughout the roleplay, we hope we deliver a good bond between many different characters that evolves constantly throughout their time in the field and back at the headquarters, whilst giving a small amount of freedom towards the choices of classes the characters can be. The choices of class are going to be following VC1, excluding those within the other two games, for clarification, but will feature long term accessorising to the Squad's vehicles, as well as personal weaponry depending on how the character acts and progresses throughout the story. Though its still in discussion, variations of each class may be available mid-way through the story itself. The ranks, which will be discussed within the OOC if created itself, will vary, but several NCO positions will be open as well as countless lower-ranks for the majority.
Here, we aim to try and deliver a decent roleplay that creates a new story to fit into the war itself, trying to cover the battles in-between the skipped months the original cast looked over, most of which will be created by us and those who wish to input or submit an operation idea of their own, alongside specific events such as expeditionary operations that may venture onto long-term missions, such as multi-stage battle, which will have planning stages to allow the players to create several tactics. No, this isn't a full-strategy leaning roleplay, for those who want only that, meaning that the battles won't always depend on great strategy and reactions created by the GMs. Everything is still up for discussion, but until then let's see if we can round up interest.
