After Nanu healed his Pokémon, he pointed to Shiranui and said in an ironic tone, "You're next, Sea Hero. Krookodile, go!"
"Ashika, I choose you!" Shiranui sent his Primarina out against Nanu's Krookodile.
"Leading with that tone-deaf thing?" Nanu taunted, "Kanto and Kalos must be just as moronic."
"Ashika, give Krookodile a few bars of your Sparkling Aria!"
"Krookodile, Throat Chop!" Krookodile charged at Ashika and just as it was about to strike Ashika's throat, the Primarina started singing, launching bubbles at Krookodile at a point blank range. The hit was critical and Krookodile was knocked out in one hit.
"Not bad," commented Nanu, "Try this on for size!" Nanu switched his Krookodile for his Sableye and Shiranui switched Ashika for Bakeru.
"Sableye, Mean Look!"
"Bakeru, Work Up!" Bakeru roused himself to the point of increasing his offensive stats. Shiranui smirked when Sableye tried to use Mean Look to trap Bakeru to no avail. "Pop quiz, hotshot!" Shiranui taunted, "A certain type of Pokémon is immune to trapping moves. Which is it?"
"One that is weak to this next move!" Nanu rebutted, "Use Black Hole Eclipse!"
"Bakeru, Swords Dance!" The Mimikyu performed a fast dance that sharply boosted his Attack stat. Nanu performed the dance for Black Hole Eclipse, too worked up from Shiranui's taunt to realise he had stepped into Shiranui's trap. Sableye fired a beam that formed a black hole above Bakeru. Bakeru was sucked into the black hole and the black hole exploded. The Mimikyu came out with his disguise busted.
"What!?" Nanu exclaimed after seeing what Sableye's Z move did.
"You wasted your Z move, Nanu," Shiranui spelled out, "You've shown me yours. I'll show you mine. Bakeru, Let's Snuggle Forever!"
"Sableye, Shadow Claw!" Shiranui performed the dance for Let's Snuggle Forever and Bakeru zipped out of sight. Sableye looked around, wondering where Bakeru went. "It's above you! Look out!" Sableye looked up a second before getting enveloped in Bakeru's rag and beaten up within. Bakeru leaped off of Sableye, revealing the latter knocked out.
"Impressive, Tsukiko, using my own battle style against me," Nanu commented, "But you're not out of the woods yet. Go Persian!" Nanu switched his Sableye for his Alolan Persian and Shiranui kept Bakeru out.
"Persian, Shadow Ball!"
"Bakeru, Play Rough!" Persian had the speed advantage as it fired an orb of shadow energy at Bakeru and scored a critical hit, knocking the Mimikyu out.
"Bakeru, return; Okinaka, I choose you!" Shiranui switched his Mimikyu for his Buzzwole. Okinaka was showing off their muscles while Nanu was taken aback at what he was facing.
"Persian, Play Rough!"
"Okinaka, Hammer Arm!" Both Pokémon charged at each other and a dust cloud was stirred up when their attacks landed. When the dust subsided, Persian was knocked out and Okinaka showed their muscles off again.
"I'm as impressed with you as I was when your predecessor defeated me, Champion," Nanu praised, "For your prowess, I bestow you with these two Z-Crystals: the Darkinium Z and the Primarium Z; the latter of which can only be used on Primarina."
"Thank you Nanu," replied Shiranui.
"Ashika, I choose you!" Shiranui sent his Primarina out against Nanu's Krookodile.
