"Please welcome our next guest speaker, Shiranui Tsukiko." Shiranui took front stage.
"Alola everyone."
"Alola!" They echoed back.
"Like Liam, I come from a town that has a gym. In my case it's Ecruteak City and its gym features some very tricky Ghost-type Pokémon. Those who defeat its leader Morty will earn the Fog Badge." Shiranui showed the class his Fog Badge. "If you were to take on the Ecruteak Gym, what types of Pokémon would you want on your team?" he asked the class. A blonde girl's hand was raised. "Yes?" prompted Shiranui.
"Lillie," the girl introduced, "Ghost Pokémon are weak to Dark types and their own type."
"That is correct," Shiranui replied, "One of my Ghost-types is someone that may be familiar to you, being a native of this region." He tossed an Ultra Ball and Bakeru appeared on Kukui's desk. "Rotom, if you please."
"With pleasure," Ash's Rotomdex acknowledged.
"Mimikyu, the Disguise Pokémon. A Ghost/Fairy type. Although it’s a quiet, lonely Pokémon, if you try to look at what’s under its rag, it will become agitated and resist violently."
"Not only that, the sight of its true form can be fatal as people have been reported to die from it," Shiranui added, "Hence why they made their Pikachu rags so they can get closer to people." Ash, his Pikachu and some of the other students had looks of recognition as they had battled one that, unknown to Shiranui, belonged to Jessie of Team Rocket.
Shiranui talked about the Battle Frontier from its headhunter Scott to the various facilities and their rules for battle, finishing with Scott's offer to become a Frontier Brain if they win all seven of the symbols. "Time for me to show you another of Johto's starters, but as with Liam, what comes out of this ball may be different." He opened the Poké Ball and Ash's Talonflame came out. "Looks like more shenanigans from Prof. Oak's Rotom," Shiranui remarked before talking about the Fletchling evolution line. A dark-skinned redhead named Kiawe pointed out that Fletchling were native to Alola.
Shiranui then proceeded to show off the rest of his party consisting of Zoro the Zoroark who showed off his shapeshifting talents; Hoshi the Starmie who showed off its colour-changing crystal core; and Saisei the Mewtwo. Ash's Rotomdex recognised Mewtwo from past pictures it took, but didn't have any information about it. Saisei showed off a Confusion attack by levitating various objects around. "This is how a Psychic-type Pokémon would battle and the telepathic voice you're hearing in your mind is how some of them communicate," the Mewtwo explained.
