Appearance: Keeping to his military roots Victor is normally clean-shaven and his clothes pressed. He keeps his hair short with a high and tight hair style. Most of the time one will see him wearing BDU green trousers and a regular black or dark green t-shirt or black turtle-neck and combat boots. When training he wears non rip shorts and a t-shirt with running shoes. Normally he has a heavy-duty green parka he wears on cold or wet days, but has also been seen wearing a tan trench coat on occasion.
Abilities/Weapons: Type 4 Modular Armored Platform (or M.A.P. suit) — Victor is one of the few proud owners of a prototype Type 4 Modular Armored Platform. This protective customizable exosuit provides ample protection from bullets and explosives as well as a sealed breathing apparatus to allow for safe breathing conditions for up to an hour. Made for combat and search and rescue operations.
He uses this suit on both training and live combat missions with the Birthed. Ultimately it allows him to keep up and keep an eye on them. It also allows the ability to assume direct control when necessary. However, this suit is still in the prototype stage and does have the odd glitch. Just as well, the suit is constantly going through software updates to work out the glitches.
Wearable Shield Generator — This shield generator is used exclusively for training. The reason for this is it constantly requires power and must be plugged into a power source to function. This back pack is strapped on when he must engage the Birthed in combat training. The shield covers his entire body and is able to redirect and spread out the energy he may take from hits.
V.I. Assistant — Sara is Victors virtual assistant. She is able to help Victor in day to day tasks as well as run some non-essential programs in his exosuit. The V.I. also continuously scans the environment and the birthed to monitor their progress while training with him. Sara was given to him by one of the scientists after arriving at the camp to both assist his work and help with V.I. experiments.
Personality: Victor is a stern military man. Often coming off as cold or uncaring, his military background made sure of that. In reality, he does care but shows it differently than others. He understands he's working with children but will point out that he is not their parent. He is there to train them how to survive and get through the horrors of war.
Through all of this he is known to be a driven individual and tends to lead by example. In private, he is quiet. Preferring to listen rather than speak. He will always be one to point out constructive criticism and at times has been known to be a dick by finding out something that bothers another person and annoying them with it. however, this seems to just be how he humors himself and his dark sense of humor.
Background: Victors upbringings were not anything special. He had average grades and didn't excel at most anything academically. Other than his height and strong build he was otherwise average. Nothing spectacular took place during this time, didn't lose any friends or fall in love just getting by, day by day. It was only until after his schooling that he began to succeed just in the military.
The military forced him to be better, challenged him to be better. In time, he found himself working in an applied sciences' division. Helping train with and test experimental arms and armor. This path of employment eventually found him being tasked to a top secret program. His superiors wouldn't even go into detail on what it was until he accepted the job offer.
Upon accepting this new position he was given a brief summery on his job. Train some super soldiers with other instructors on how to fight and use advanced technology and weapon systems. He would also be testing out experimental technology while working with them. He did recognize the company he was being sent to work with. A now debunked group of scientists who went under when they began to talk about experimenting on humans.
Ultimately he accepted this position under threat of court marshal and imprisonment. Now he has found himself at this new camp or town with many strange people. Barley been there for a day but at least he picked up a handy virtual assistant to help him out with things around camp.
i hope im not too late to toss my hat into the ring assuming others are still here... mostly just stalking rumi though.
You too?
Do you have your official Rumi Stalker membership card and decoder ring? There's so many of us now we're having to arrange a rota so as not to trip over each other too much.
@RumikoOhara Since Trey's more the frontline fighter, with his speed and strength letting him get into combat quickly and hit the enemy hard, I'd suggest giving him Fiore as a partner, since he's more likely to get injured either from enemy action or from overexerting himself. This would mean Trixie would be partnered with Kiki, which would work out welol. Trixie's more gung-ho and could protect Kiki with her Multitool, while at the same time providing her with plenty of robot minions to control.
Personality-wise theis works out too. Trixie's more bombastic outlook on life would help ground Kiki, giving her a focus to help keep her attention in tense moments. Trey's calmer, more disciplined personality would clash more with Trixie's, and would complement Fiore's kind and optimistic one better.
well hello all! it's nice to see the guild's working again, I for one am excited to start rping~ I was surprised to see activity in this thread, hope you behaved yourselves ;)
@ReusableSword I didn't expect anyone else to join! victor seems like a fine character, nice work! go ahead and post in the character tab when you can. thanks for showing interest in my humble rp :O
@Spirit@RumikoOhara@Genni as it stands, fiore is currently slated to become @Fabricant451's character's mechanic, but if they decide they want something different, we can work something out! I'm thinking of a more team system instead of the isolated pairs that I thought of in the beginning. there would still be birthed/mechanic pairs to an extent, but we would all collaborate with each other in battle. so lots of room for interactions between everybody! fiore's gotta be a healer for everybody, after all ^^''
I won't be on Monday, but on Tuesday (providing the server still stands) i'm hoping to start ic posting! get those sheets up if you haven't yet eheh...

That's still the plan, and I should have my character for your perusal tomorrow.

I completely agree with that idea.
As far as team roles go, I'd see Nightmare as the Blocker, standing at the front and soaking up as much damage as he can. His shield and armour should help him out quite a bit with this task.
Trey would be a Flanker, using his speed and mobility to reposition rapidly but often leading to him being separated from the rest of the party for short periods during combat.
Trixie would be the Jinx, deploying drones to harrass and distract enemies, as well as capitalising on any moments of opportunity to cause damage.
Kiki would be the Mastermind, using her abilities to both keep track of the battlefield as well as disrupting enemy technology, keeping them from bringing their own support in and disrupting their plans.
And Fiore would be our Support, providing medical aid and keeping an eye on the team to ensure no-one is left unassisted.
This means we really need a Blitzer right now, someone who can provide steady damage to our opposition, as well as occasionally blowing large craters in the landscape. Trixie could be repurposed for this role, depending on how well she can scavenge materials to build fully operational battle bots, but a character with dedicated heavy firepower or close combat capabilities would be perfect.
I would like to mention that I did design Trey to be more of a tank and a heavy hitter than a frequent speedster. He only has so much fuel in his body at a time and it's important for him to be careful when he uses his rocket engines.
A bit bummed people are shifting around mechanics on me though. Feels like nobody wants to partner. Like being picked last for dodge-ball. >.>
But yeah his personality is more supportive, so I always pictured him preferring a heavy role that goes out of their way to tank shots and take attention away from his teammates since his power was designed to make him nearly invulnerable. Unless he gets shot in the back of the knee or in the small fold in his shoulder or armpit he won't really need healing. Unless he gets shot by something big. Or shocked. Concussives will mess him up pretty bad sure since you know metal but I would argue it's more important for him to get a mechanic partner that is good with sensitive or complex machinery since he's one of the more analog units with physical tech in him. In fact at some point he'll have to get stronger too I'm sure so augmentation would be important so he would need an mechanic based mechanic more that anything.
I don't mean to be negative or argumentative, but I did design him to be a birthed tank unit since I he was most likely to see combat than mechanics and be deployed in the field not as much of a flanker. In fact his only major offense is the harsh punches he can throw, and the very risky move of blasting high amounts of fuel to shoot heat out of his elbows if I wanted to be creative with the elbow rockets. Not to mention, rockets are loud and without them he isn't all that much faster than a normal person in shape.
To add on to this, Victor would fulfill the role that is needed. He is very flexible. Also his suit is designed to be customizable. So it would not be a far fetched idea for him to have lets say a rocket pod, a small cannon, shoulder mounted mortar, or a new high intensity energy weapon. So with his character being the tank and Victor seeing this, would default to something more along the lines of a heavy hitter. however, he would be far more comfortable with this then lets say CQB. although he can do that job, he isn't that quick at least not yet.
... also if your still pairing outside of combat victor and trey would make a good team.
