Hai! Thanks for coming by to look at my rp. This rp will be based on the populair anime/manga Made in Abyss. We will be following a story based of a spin off plot I have created and do this story in parts while gearing and gathering supplies from the abyss to get some free roaming moments going on our way down. The theme of the rp will gradually grow darker the further we go down into the abyss. This rp might contain blood, horror and nudity so I rate it pg 16 which is just a recommendation age. This was your gm Yui-senpai. Please have a good look around and perhaps have wonderful time with us. Thank you for reading this announcement.

The abyss, a hole that is roughly said 20 km's deep. It is said to be much deeper but there has not been a single person that has come back up to the surface from points deeper then 20 km's down. The abyss has been discovered 2 millennia ago full of ancient technology and creatures that hadn't been seen before. The ecosystem ranges from layer to layer, it ranges from overgrown forests to deep sea's, there are plenty of enough plant species to be found, shortly said there is plenty that hasn't been discovered yet. During the last two millennia the delvers from around the world looking for riches and adventure build up a town around the edge of the abyss to search for artifacts and document the species living in the abyss to make a living from the unventured world. Not only did people come here to make some pretty coin of the abyss, there were some other people that were interested in something else... something that wasn't as simpel as money... It was the curse. The curse that dwells in the abyss. A curse that makes it difficult to get out of the abyss after you have gone down it. The curse gradually grows worse the deeper you go, ranging from a simple headache to... death. The reason why nobody knows if there is anything down at the bottom of the abyss is because of the curse not allowing you to get back up once you go down too far. Still, it drives people mad at the surface to know what is at the bottom of it all. Ventures go down to see what is at the bottom and... never return... Curious?

The Abyss
The Abyss is a colossal pit discovered 1900 years ago around the islands of the southern ocean of Beolusk. The vertical hole has a diameter of around 1000 meters and it's at least 20,000 meters deep, with its exact depth being currently unknown. It possesses a unique ecosystem, wherein lie the remnants of an ancient, yet advanced civilization that made their home there in the distant past. Hiding countless treasures and relics of immense value inside, many explorers have challenged the mysterious Abyss. Some are treasure hunters looking for the Artifacts inside, and others are explorers determined to unveil the secrets it hides. In order to explore the Abyss, valiant cave raiders called Delvers were born, and the town of Orth was established at the edge of the abyss.
Even after so many years, the Abyss still contains many sections that have never been seen, as the hole carries many dangers. A hazardous habitat that defies common sense and other-worldly creatures that have adapted to its unique environment are some major obstacles that face explorers of the Abyss.
All over the Abyss there is a mysterious force field called the 'Lifeblood of the Abyss'. The force field acts as its main source of energy, carrying nutrients, producing light and sustaining life, in a similar fashion to the Sun. While it is present everywhere, it seems to be more prominent the closer one gets to the center. More savage and dangerous creatures are often found in areas where the force field is most prevalent and the branches of the vegetation always point towards the center of the hole, their main source of energy for undergoing photosynthesis. Delvers use this fact to guide themselves when they are lost. The force field itself is invisible to the naked eye, but it can be detected as a vague fog that limits vision for humans. The field is also constantly moving, following the consciousness of living beings. There are a few selected spots in the Abyss, usually far away from the center and in secluded areas, where the force field doesn't exist or is extremely weak.
The great pit also appears to have some form of time distortion, though it is unclear if this is a fact or merely a feeling. The White Whistle Ozen claims that the deeper one delves, the more your sense of time breaks, with the effect becoming extreme from the 5th Layer onwards. As an experiment she once descended what she thought were a couple of weeks, but by the time she returned to the surface several months had passed. While there's little evidence to prove it, she considers it a possibility that time speeds up the more one descends.
Whistles of the abyss
Delvers are classified with whistles of different colors, based on their ability, experience and achievements. Everyone on the island that is a delver has such a whistle. Only when you become a red whistle you will be allowed to enter the abyss by the guards.
Bells
Bells are the novices. Not a whistle at all. Given to those who are studying to become delvers, but have yet to actually go into the abyss themselves. Though most bells are given to young children, when Reg first arrived at Belchero Orphanage he was also given a bell until his first dive.
Red Whistles
Red Whistles are the apprentices. They are rookie delvers who have a decent knowledge of the abyss and have descended up to the first layer on their own. It is a common rank for prepubescent kids who have studied since an early age. One obtains a red whistle and the official title of delver after their first descent into the abyss. While they're fairly knowledgeable, red whistles lack the physical fortitude to get very deep, so they're only allowed to descend up to 550 meters. Going any deeper would be treated as an accident or a rebellious behavior, and a rescue party would be sent to retrieve them. If a red whistle somehow managed to descend 1350 meters, it is treated as suicide and search parties are called off.
Blue Whistles
Blue Whistles are the adepts. They are more experienced delvers who managed to prove themselves. Blue whistles are allowed to delve up to the second layer of the abyss, so they most likely possess an acceptable fighting ability to fend off the beasts of the forest of temptation. Typically and with the appropriate training, one attains the rank of blue whistle at the age of 15, though there are exceptions to this.
Moon Whistles
Moon Whistles are the teachers. They are highly proficient delvers that carry an extensive knowledge of the abyss. Moon Whistles can delve up to the third layer safely, so their delving ability is in a completely different level to Blue Whistles. They're considered experienced enough to serve as teachers for the newer generations.
Black Whistles
Black Whistles are the experts. They are extremely talented delvers that have mastered the techniques of delvers. Black Whistles can reach up to the fourth layer of the abyss, which is the point in which the strains of ascension can really make one touch insanity. They also sometimes work under white whistles as subordinates, and assist them in their expeditions.
White Whistles
White Whistles are the legends. They are considered to be the greatest delvers of all. Their achievements have changed the world and their discoveries astonished all, turning them into spectacular historical figures. White whistles are named after their unique persona and reach a whole new level incomparable to that of other delvers. They're armed to the teeth with artifacts of the abyss, and represent a formidable force. Because of their status, any information that is officially passed by them is considered a fact, no matter how absurd.
White Whistles don't have any depth limit, however since the strains of ascension make it humanly impossible to survive the ascent from the 6th layer, for most of their life the 5th layer is their limit. At some point when they make the decision, a white whistle will descend to the inviolable 6th layer. Since return from this point is impossible, this descent is called the Last Dive and it represents the most important point of their career, delving into largely unknown territory.
Layers of the Abyss
Layer 1: Edge of the abyss
Depth: 0~1350 meters
Info: The first layer is the most shallow section of the abyss, right below the town of Orth. The environment doesn't really change and wildlife consists of mostly harmless animals.
Layer 2: Forest of Temptation
Depth: 1351~2600 meters
Info: The Forest of Temptation is the first truly dangerous section of the abyss. The fauna and environment suddenly change, turning into a tropical rain forest with huge vegetation. The creatures that inhabit this layer are much more dangerous. Deeper in, there is an area known as the "Inverted Forest," where the trees grow upside-down and the wind blows hard. Here an Observation Camp was once built to serve as a resting point for delvers.
Layer 3: The Great Fault
Depth: 2601~7000 meters
Info: The third layer consists of a 4 km vertical cliff, making it a highly challenging area to cross, save for the large cave network around the main shaft. Countless methods have been implemented by many in order to attempt a descent, to varying effects. Aerial predators are common, including Scarlet Maws.
Layer 4: The Goblet of Giants
Depth: 7001~12000 meters
Info: A strange, humid jungle of strong vines weaving to form giant concave discs that capture water from the air earn the 4th layer its name, the "Goblet of Giants." At 9000 meters marks the famous Garden of the Flower of Resilience, an area filled with Eternal Fortunes, the trademark flower of the Abyss. A truly beautiful sight, though the danger from the beasts that dwell here is high.
Layer 5: Sea of Corpses
Depth: 12001~13000 meters
Info: The thinnest layer of the Abyss vertically, being only 1000 meters deep, but the widest one horizontally, probably around 10 times wider than the town of Orth. It consists mostly of a large, monster-filled sea with some crystallized sections, held up by a thick layer of dense mud. This is the last layer of the abyss where it is possible to bear the curse and return alive and intact. An ancient ritual site, Idofront, which became a lab by Bondrewd and his crews acts as a gateway into the 6th layer, the point of no return.
Layer 6: The Capital of the Unreturned
Depth: 13001~15500 meters
Info: A White Whistle's last dive. A human who tries to ascend from the 6th layer either succumbs to death, or is deformed beyond recognition, hence the name, "The Capital of the Unreturned." In Orth, there is a rumor about a Golden City at the bottom of the abyss, which originated from the 6th layer, where the ruins of a majestic city sleep undisturbed. It is not uncommon to come across creatures of an Irrational danger level here.
Layer 7: The Final Maelstrom
Depth: 15501~????? meters
Info: The final known layer of the Abyss. Not much is known about it but there are many rumors about it. Some white whistles have claimed that from above it can be seen something shaped as a ring.
Curse of the abyss
Though the Abyss is riddled with countless dangers and hazards, one of the greatest challenges facing delvers is, in fact, the ascent from it. This is due to a phenomenon called the Curse of the Abyss. The term refers to a series of symptoms that manifest upon ascending while inside the abyss, with its more scientific name being "Strains of Ascension". The effects of the curse manifest after ascending around 10 meters within the Abyss, and there's no way to avoid it through conventional means. The Curse affects all living things, however the creatures that inhabit the abyss have developed ways to sense its flow and avoid it.
The deeper one delves, the more severe the symptoms are, ranging from dizziness and nausea to intense pain throughout the body, loss of senses and even death. This makes the return trip from the Abyss extremely difficult, and it is not uncommon for delvers to perish on the way up. Particularly, the curse of the 6th Layer("loss of humanity or death") makes the return journey physically impossible for humans.
The curse results from piercing the force field of the Abyss while ascending, although this fact is not generally known. Therefore, areas where the force field is weaker also result in the effects of the curse being less severe. In certain specific places, like Nanachi's Hideout and The Village of Ilblu, the force field isn't present at all, and so the Curse doesn't occur either.
Birthday death disease
Birthday Death Disease is a strange disease that occurs on the surface, caused by an abyss curse. A lot of people died at the same day of the year they were born, has been called off as a rumor but in entirety it becomes true. Its symptoms usually starts with a high fever and forcibly becomes an unknown condition that cannot be treated by ordinary doctors. The victims of the disease is still counting in Orth.
However, there is evidence pointing to the force field as a possible cause of this illness, as it's revealed that once one is removed from Orth, the sickness vanishes, as if it were never present at all.
Faith in the abyss
A religion that was formed using the Abyss itself, and it appears to be a very common belief for those that delve into the Abyss. Instead believing in a God, those that turn to this religion believe in the Abyss itself. Because the bottom is unknown, it replaces their God and grants them hope in the after-life. It's based on the principle that if you lose your life within the Abyss, your soul will descend to the bottom and live as a form of spirit of the abyss. The unreachable depths of the pit makes people believe that it transcends life itself.

Light Dizziness and Nausea
Curse level 2
Heavy nausea, headache and numbness of limbs
Curse level 3
Vertigo combined with visual and auditory hallucinations
Curse level 4
Intense Full-body pain, dizziness from pain and varying amounts of internal and external bleeding across the body
Curse level 5

Creatures of the abyss
The Abyss ecosystem is incredibly diverse and other-worldly, making its flora and fauna just as varied. Living creatures of the great pit have evolved to adapt to such harsh conditions, even developing unique sensing organs to the force field within the abyss.
90% of species in the Abyss have not yet been identified. The further into the abyss a delver goes, the stranger and more dangerous the creatures become. In order to gauge the peligrosity of the beasts within the abyss, a "danger level" system was created as reference for delvers in order for them to understand and evaluate the caution they must display whilst in the abyss.
It's frequently established that the deeper you find yourself in the abyss the more likely you are to happen across creatures with higher and more substantial "danger level" scores.

Artifacts of the abyss
Artifacts or Relics are items found in The Abyss by Delvers during their expeditions. While low class artifacts have little to no use, the higher the grade the more extraordinary its effects are. Regardless of grade, all artifacts have a pattern that implies how many times they can be used before they become futile. They're believed to be leftovers from an ancient civilization, and their functioning can't be comprehended by modern technology, let alone imitated.
Special grade artifacts
The most valuable class of artifact that can be found. These are items that can change the world and disrupt the balance of power between nations. Retrieving a single one to the surface can guarantee a prosperous future for a whole city or vastly increase the military potential of a country, depending on its use. According to Jiruo, a Special Grade Artifact's value is so large that it can't be measured. Because these artifacts are so valuable, they're the only artifacts that white whistles are not allowed to keep for their own personal use.
Reg
A robot like artifact that acts like a normal human.
Unheard Bell
An artifact retrieved by the white whistles Lyza and Ozen. It was discovered in a highly inaccessible location within the 4th layer. Information of its location was leaked and reached multiple countries, sparking a fierce competition to get it. Not many details are known about its use, but it is apparently capable of stopping time in some form.
Soul-Slave Zoaholic
The Zoaholic, also called the Soul-Slave Machine, is a buttocks-shaped artifact so large that it takes up a very large room. It allows the user who synchronizes with it to plant his soul into other living beings, spreading the consciousness throughout multiple bodies. However, if the user overuses it and spreads their consciousness into too many bodies, the hosts will lose their sense of self, develop strange behavior, and go eventually go insane. If the user has the desire, a mere touch is enough to possess another body, and it's impossible to escape the enchantment. The subject does not necessarily have to be human, since when it was first discovered, small animals were manipulating small insects into getting eaten. Even though it was officially retrieved and included in the artifact catalog, the relic was somehow lost fifteen years ago.
Eon Depths
a strange container with a liquor capable of greatly extending the lifespan of those who drink it.
Star Thread
A large and thick thread that can withstand any blow.
First grade artifacts
Blaze Reap
The Blaze Reap is an abnormally large pickaxe that contains Everlasting Gunpowder, allowing it to serve as an impact explosive type weapon and earning it the epithet of the Everlasting Pickaxe. The pickaxe was previously utilized by Lyza the Annihilator as her signature weapon before mysteriously disappearing during her last dive. It was eventually retrieved by Ozen the Immovable on the 4th layer’s Garden of the Flowers of Resilience, where it marked an empty grave. Currently it is in the possession of Riko. Ozen noted that the exterior of the weapon was in very poor shape, only being able to withstand a few more hits. The gunpowder was however noted as unaffected, as it is infinite.
Curse-Warding Box
A unique artifact unlisted in the guide of recorded relics. Theorized to be at least a grade-2 relic, it is a cube-like structure with an incredibly complex pattern embedded on the outside. Also known as "The Curse-Repelling Vessel", from the depths up toward the surface, it was initially thought to have the power to nullify the effects from the curse of the abyss while the subject is placed inside of it.
"Curse-Warding Box" is somewhat of a misnomer, however. Its real effect is not curse nullification. Those inside will still suffer the effects of the curse and possibly die as a result, but whatever is inside will come back to life seemingly unaffected and will immediately start crawling towards the center of the abyss before dying again sometime later.

Thousand-Men Pins
Each pin is said to bestow the strength of a thousand men.
After Ozen had been attacked and left to die in the Abyss, she had no choice but to embed one of the pins within her to give her to strength to push onward. Since then, she has bought up every pin that she has found. It is said that she has around 120 of these pins stuck in her body. They are the secret to her great strength and longevity.

Third Works
A psychokinetic arm.
Ghost Sight
Glasses that show the imperceptible.
Nilfont
A water-producing artifact that possibly forms water from nothing, hence the "nil" before "font" and its status as a first grade artifact.
Grim Ripper
Iron-cutting scissors.
Second grade artifacts
White Whistles
White Whistles are second grade artifacts that can only be used by their original owner. They are made from Life Reverberating Stones and given further shape by the user's own modifications to the stone, making each and every White Whistle unique. White Whistles are able to activate dormant relics.
The White Whistle is a signature characteristic for the few divers that are allowed to dive past the fifth layer of The Abyss. Currently there are only a handful of recognized White Whistle users, although it's unknown whether or not all of them are still alive.

Gold Shaker
A dust collecting pot.
Tomorrow Signal
A weather divining vane.
Far Caress
One of Bondrewd's personal relics. Also called Touching the Moon. Capable of manipulating countless tendrils. Incredibly tough and elastic. Strictly speaking, it's not exactly an artifact, but a native creature enclosed within a cylinder. It's classified as an artifact simply because it cannot be collected outside of the Abyss.
Third grade artifacts
Fog Weave
A piece of cloth so thin that you can see right through it. It's so light that it floats over the ground like fog. Even breathing can alter its movement. Used by Nanachi to explain the true nature of the curse to Reg.
Fourth Grade Artifacts
Star Compass
A relic found in the first layer by Riko, who also named it. She illegally took it back to the orphanage with her as her own personal item instead of turning it in for money. The needle inside it always points downwards, no matter how much you turn and shake it. Riko claims it points to the bottom of the Abyss.
Riko took it on her journey, but quickly lost it when she got excited and it slipped out of her hand while she was shaking it. It hasn't been seen since.

Scale Umbrella
Technically, a manmade relic. Someone had trashed it, but Riko found it and decided to carry it as a shield. A grade 3 artifact, charcoal sand, was made into bars and attached to the top of an umbrella, making it look somewhat like shingles on a roof. It was put together poorly, resulting in the grade being lowered. The umbrella possesses the strong but lightweight properties of the charcoal sand its made out of. Riko brought the Scale Umbrella with her on her journey, but it was destroyed in the fourth layer while Reg was fighting Tamaugachi, whose needles pierced through it easily.
Sun Sphere
Shines brightly when activated. It was used by Riko and Reg to distract the attention of creatures away from them and enable the two to escape. It was eaten by an aquatic creature in the Sea of Corpses.
Cannon Claw
Shoots a metal claw with high speed, the claw automatically grabs onto the first thing it hits. The claw is shot out with air pressure that builds up with every shot. Can be released by the push of a button and automatically winds back up by the use of gears.
Sound Shell
Sends sounds from one end to the other without stop, they are always paired with another, it can't send further then 3 kilometers.
Artifacts of Unknown Grade
Sparagmos
The Origin Guiding Light. One of Bondrewd's personal relics. A processed artifact similar to Reg's Incinerator that generates mysterious blade of light. Things it hits will undoubtedly disintegrate, without any exceptions.
Gangway
Also called Ascending to the Morning Star. Another one of Bondrewd's. Produced from another artifact, the Stairway of Light. It releases a band of light to strike at the reflected target. It has the capability to strike the object where the user strongly focuses on, at multiple targets, and even fire where rays cannot be reflected.
Shaker
The Curse Needle. Yet another one of Bondrewd's. Manufactured from another relic, the Curse Steel. When pierced with one of these a human will be inflicted with the curse of the 3rd layer.
Canopy Unto Dawn
You guessed it: Bondrewd. A custom set of armor that's basically a whole bunch of artifacts processed together with bio-fibers and built in weapons to increase combat efficiency. Also helps to ease the strain of Bondrewd's divided consciousness.
