Pshaw, you've probably never heard of him. He's pretty underground.

(Sips cold brew coffee through ironic lumberjack beard before riding a fixie to the local micro-brewery on the way to the latest ukelele-and-toy-piano-band concert)

Can you?

Yes. Since these sheets aren't as big as say a Naruto sheet, gonna see if this computer can handle even this small thing for now. By next Friday, I'll have my own laptop around me more than my own........eyes.

@AndyC

So we pull from only ONE of the universe for our characters and not using say two universes for the interpretation of the character? But i could I say take the unworthy thor storyline from 616 and basically interpret it in a way that makes sense for this rp.

Should be a breeze. It took me like forty-five minutes to write the Howard one plus two other characters I decided not to do.

Well, like I said, we're playing fast-and-loose with canon, so the exact specifics of lore and history really aren't all that important. What matters is that it's recognizable as the character; you can mix-and-match stuff to your heart's content as long as people can look at the end result and go "okay, yeah, that's Thor."

Bear in mind that given the nature of the game, there's probably going to be little to no time for solo posting or character arcs, so if you go with Unworthy Thor, he's probably gonna stay that way.

So much for Howard's investigative podcast series.

I'll say with the nature of this game, I could possibly use it as his redemption arc. I'll have something for you hopefully sooner than later.

This is generally my rule of thumb anyway for playing superhero characters, given there's so much conflicting history and retcons to deal with. I try to make an amalgam of everything, I.E with Spider-Man, he's about the age that he is in the modern comics, but was bitten by a genetically altered spider as he was in the Ultimate Universe and is engaged to MJ for the first time - as opposed to having been married to her only to sell that off to the literal devil.

If I were to write out his full history, it'd probably be some elaborate combination of 616, Ultimate, MCU, the Raimi films, the Spectacular cartoon and any other version I love. It makes things more fun and covers alot of bases, while never messing with the 'classic' formula of who these characters are.

I think experimentation is fine as long as you keep the heart and spirit of the character.

I still wish I had stuck with my "Poor Bruce Wayne" concept I started on the Hype at some point. That would have been fun to take down the line.

Heh. I've had a concept in my head for awhile for a version of Spider-Woman that takes the concept of a teenage Peter Parker and transfers it to his daughter instead, throwing in the trials of being a teenage girl as opposed to a teenaged boy onto the Spider-Man thing and gender-swapping a few of the rogues' gallery to see how the dynamics change. Basically, MC2's Spider-Girl meets Spider-Gwen but with my own take on it all.

I also thought of a version of Spider-Man where he didn't get his powers until he was 40 years old and had to simultaneously balance being a single father and a superhero. Which was also a concept I had for The Punisher at some point, where one of his kids survived the Central Park massacre and he had to balance killing criminals every night with a suburban life, giving Frank a "secret identity" to play with.

I've... spent alot of time needlessly thinking of alternate versions of alot of characters.

Don't even get me started on the 1,001 versions of Batman I've cooked up over the years that never saw the light of day.

If we can get posting regularly again, you're seriously tempting me to start a sandbox game. Stop it, MB. Bad, MB.

The plan to ressurect Singular Universe is working...

So Dexter?

Dexter but with more removable Dadstache and without a day job. And a depressing lack of Jennifer Carpenter.

I legit have a concept/loose overall plot ready and waiting to go. We all just have to earn it/I need to prove to myself I can post regularly to start it.

Which is why I am very excited for this game.

I think we do this every single time we get excited. It may be best to not repeat history here and divert our attention in five different directions.

Though I do have that Gotham City sandbox game I’m working on…

Oh I'm not even thinking about starting another game until this wraps up, to be clear.

I'll fiddle with my OU concept as we go, so as long as we see this one through I can follow it up with OU.
