"Oh, sure!" When Marcus had asked her if she wanted a drink, Reya nodded in reply before sitting down beside him. "...Hey, I can tell that you're nervous. But you'll do great out there, I just know it!" She reassured Marcus. "So don't worry about it. Hell, atleast your not as awkward as I am, hahah..." Rei scratch the back of her head.
She silently listened to the conversation when Ethan walked up to the bar. 'Glad I didn't drag Ryan out here with me. He would've slapped Goldilocks here across the face for not defusing the bar fight...' she thought. Yes, her brother wasn't over it. It was when Ethan had referred to her as Marcus' date that she spoke up. "U-Uh, actually, w-we're not dating..." she told him, albeit a bit flustered. Marinalia didn't help much either. "I said w-we're not dating!" Reya told her, before sighing in resignment.
Interactions:@Majoras End@PrinceAlexus@King Tai@Almalthia + Anyone else at Swan Songs Marcus smiled at Reya’s response to his drink offer, flagging down the bartender and ordering another beer, before taking a sip of his own. He nodded, letting out a slightly uneasy snicker. “Thanks… I’m always nervous before a show, but it helps having people cheering for me, I guess.” He smiled at the blue-haired girl, shaking his head slightly. “I don’t think you’re that awkward. You managed to get up on stage for karaoke that night, remember?”
His attention was diverted back to Ethan as the taller rockstar started to speak, offering a jam, and suggesting that the two other women should join him for a song. Marcus shrugged with a slight smile. “Sure, that’d be fun. I’m sure we could work something out.” When Ethan referred to Reya as his date, Marcus couldn’t help but blush slightly, but before he could say anything, Rei protested quite adamantly, and again when Marinalia made her comment. This made Marcus’ red face get deeper, resigning back into his shyer self abit. Was the thought of being on a date with him that awful? “Oh… Uh.. Yeah… What she said.”
Marcus grabbed his beer and took a long sip from it, before exhaling deeply, trying to find a way to excuse himself from the now awkward situation before he made it worse by panicking or bursting into tears. It wasn’t a big issue really, but when his nerves are already heightened, the slightest upset can become catastrophic in the timid musician’s mind. “I… Uh… I should go get ready for my set.” He gave the group a little awkward wave, before turning to Reya. “Umm, take a seat anywhere, I guess, and I’ll, umm, come find you after my set.” He mumbled with a forced smile before walking off towards the stage to get his guitar ready.
Tuesday Evening: Mount Atlas towards a Cabin with Leo. @CaptainSully ❤
Listening to Leo talk about his family Dustynn had been torn; on one hand she was happy to hear Leo had a good relationship with his parents and his brother, on the other hand a ping of jealousy sat in the pit of her stomach. "Hopefully I can meet them someday, especially Alex." Dusty chirped happily, as they arrived at the cabin. It was a nice as Dustynn expected but she couldn't help but be a little taken back with just how nice it was.
Just as they reached the driveway, Dusty was ready to hop out of the car and into some warmer and dryer clothes. However, Leo had other plans as he took her hands and asked the question she had been dreading to hear. "I-." she started, getting a little choked up on her words for a moment. She knew the truth would come out eventually, but she didn't want it to ruin what they had so far. Leo wasn't the judgmental type, but it still held a worry in her heart. "I've got a confession to tell you." she said, quietly her eyes darting away from his. "That night when you were stuck at work during the blizzard I wasn't at home. I was at the police station visiting my mom, she's out now though. That is what the texts and missed calls were about, she was supposed to be getting out today but I was more concerned about this. I was being selfish, but she has been selfish her entire life!" Dustynn's voice cracked during the raising of it, her usual calm and raspy tone turned into a sound of anguish.
Pulling her hand out of Leo's she cupped her face with her hands as she began to cry, between some of the sobs she kept apologizing for the lie, and calling herself explicit names. This had not been what she wanted this trip to be, and she was ruining it. Eventually her crying stopped, as she rubbed and wiped away the wetness from her cheeks. Turning to Leo, her weak smile paired with a chuckle "I'm a fucking mess." she coughed out, as she leaned back in the passenger side of the vehicle, and looked out the window. If he wanted to just bring her home she wouldn't blame him, but she hoped that wasn't the case. "If I'm still allowed in your cabin, I'd like to go in." she said, returning her gaze from outside back to him.
saturday . Siobahan's Art Show Saturday Evening . Planned Event . Cool Winter evening with intermittent rain showers . Event Location Hephaestus Manor (Olympus family residence)
“Now then, let's come right down in here and put some nice big strong arms on these trees. Tree needs an arm too. It'll hold up the weight of the forest. Little bird has to have a place to set there. There he goes...” Bob Ross, The man, The legend, The happy tree
Culture means growth Bob... no.. that's a furry cup with googly eyes and a cocktail umbrella, not art... fine you're a modern artist...
So, the simple Version! We have a GM planned event hosted at the sisters' mansion. The Art show before, if you kept a close eye, had to move thanks to Dirty Harriet or the woman with no name bringing her trademark cordite air freshener to the private viewing on Tuesday morning. The shooting forced the show to be moved, and old rivals from chapter one to get closer than either would like!
We are going to have fun with this, while the events are not required they tend to draw the biggest crowds and always some juicy drama. To help people out, the location will have a basic floor plan to make sense of things and keep us all on the same page. Further details will be laid out in our posts, so please read them even if not directly reference you.
The General theme of the Manor is Parian, lighter, ornate details and plaster work etc. Ground Floor used for the main event.
There will be drinks, snacks and much art to admire, drama to be had, and bring your best, dress up, and may the most handsome and elegant win the day!
As always, any questions, send us a PM, Tag us, Discord, Raven, Post owl, though rocks with notes on windows may be returned by first class arm post :)
Other than that, Have fun and enjoy the party!

Siobhan sits down at a table with Alexandra and they both order a black coffee. Siobhan kept late hours due to Joel and she really didn’t mind she was a night owl not an early bird. No leggings or converse so instead of being pushed into a skirt or dress she rebelled in the most fashionable way that she could think of. The high waisted fitted suit was a oatmeal colored tweed that she had paired with a canary yellow silk shirt. To top it off she had done her hair in a very Anne of Green Gables style. She looked like she could have passed for Katherine Hepburn. Grinning over the coffee cup at Alexandra who was mock glaring at her. “You said no leggings or converse.”
“So you pull a Hepburn. Should have known. Well at least you look smashing. How did you manage to put all of your hair up there?” Alexandra reached out to touch Siobhan’s hair.
Siobhan leaned back quickly. “Don’t mess with it, Lexi. You know I hate hairspray. It’s a mass of bobby-pins that I finally got to work with my hair. Besides I’m not letting you take this down, that goes to someone else entirely.” Alexandra laughed and leaned back looking over at the door that they were both facing waiting for the other ladies to join them. The Sisters and Maria thanked the desk after giving their names and headed over to the area where the two they intended to meet were waiting, Dressed in a smart but modern Italian designer ladies suit with a skirt, crisp English blouse and a click of the easily recognised red soled heels with a conservative 2 inch lift, Maria looked the part. Followed by Victoria in a dark wool coat detailed in silver wearing a office safe little dark purple dress and boots, and Marinalia in her normal office uniform, flight jacket but with dark shiny taller leather riding boots and a necklace of ice blue diamonds glittering on thick gold chain.
Maria seemed not to notice the sisters somewhat surprised seeing Siobhan, and a second well dressed woman next to her, barely even flustered by much at all with a upper class English accent and practically gold eyes. “Good Morning ladies, Shall we start then? Rather classic Miss Murphy, it suits you. Pot of regular and decaf coffee please, and some continental selections if possible.” Barely pausing, she politely asked for breakfast.
A rather surprised looking Victoria went somewhat icey as their last meeting was hardly a good one, eyes icey and a somewhat Russian tinge, though definitely the smallest of group. “Agh. Miss Murphy, Alexandra? … oh, now I understand. The art showing. You want to use the Manor.” Somewhat cold, she sat down, deciding now was not a time to light the fires of past arguments especially round Maria, Victoria despite what thought at times was rather sharp when it came to some things.
Marinalia was more curious than vengeful, though she had hit on Joel like straight after the Gala, recent events had thrown a new perspective on things, and Ethan… the situation was definitely multi layered. “Good morning. Seeing as no one else got to it yet. My mum, Maria Olympus, my sister Lady Victoria Romus, and I'm Marinalia, Romus-Olympus. So, where do we start?”Siobhan kept the smile pasted on her face as she looked past Maria to the sisters. At Victoria's frosty comment she turned on her. “Nice to meet you Maria and thank you. Please call me Siobhan. You look stunning. I was not aware that Vika and Marlin had control of the Manor or I never would have bothered. You see Vika is pissed that my best friend, Paige, is a better match to her ex than she ever could have been. And when it comes to these two Marlin follows her sister blindly. She really is a bad influence on Marlin. Although I have to say neither Joel nor I could really tell which of you retaliated in that bar fight not to long ago. News flash Marlin unless her name is ‘Lady’ you're in America. No one cares.” She took a sip of coffee. “But that's neither here nor there. I need space and apparently it needs to be elegant. According to Lexi at least. So you have the space and I have the art. Let's brainstorm.” She motioned them to sit at an accompanying table sipping her coffee.Maria frowned at the situation being a lot more complicated than she ever planned or expected to be. Marinalia was definitely her daughter but Victoria she had a lot less defined position. Buying some time to think she took a bite of her small breakfast. Maybe she should have been more upfront about who and why. “Thank you Siobhan, I must take some responsibility as I did not give every detail before hand. Alas, I think I need a brief pause to discuss things. And a lot longer tonight. “ Nudging the two to a quiet corner away for a minute or two and expressions changing rather rapidly, before making a small sense of the mess.
Returning Victoria dialed down the ice partly, though only because Maria's influence but was thicker with Russian. “Well Marinalia was being formal as of her education. Bar fight. Not us, in fact as your so interested. Some fan girl of Ethan Aster who I met, an invite for drinks, a bottle flew. Blood. Then chaos. Self defense. Milo, I'd rather less said the better.”
Marinalia was somewhat thrown by the situation, the few minutes had let her reboot her viewpoint. But Ethan’s words from Tuesday where ringing in her minds corners. Joel nor I? Definitely dating or similar. Ethan certainly did not miss anything. Victoria's cold side was what made her excellent at her job. Just not diplomatic. “For Maria's sake. I'll forget that one. We do, and I'm the one in control technically, so.
With a few terms. Second floor is private. Within personal use and sense. Third is entirely off limits. Gardens ours till the evening in question.
Cost wise. You clean up after and never notice it happened after, we get drinks… I'll call that our truce offer. Though we both know a certain racing driver is unlikely to attend so that's one less problem.” Cooler, but not icey like Victoria and falling into her taught cool crisp upper class English. Getting a if you must look from Victoria, she knew better than show a divided front.
Maria nodded along. Not the most warm, could be worse. The Terms where fair. Also why where they so tall… 5’6 in heels. Then pulling out a floor plan, annotated in a neat cursive hand with ideas and options. “Ground floor was designed for old social scene. You have room and light. Ballroom is better for art, much lighter. Save the other space for guests. Maybe bar under staircase. Gardens can be opened up. Any suggestions Alexandra? I'm sure you have a few requirements? Being the professional here.”The woman in all black almost severe cut business suit jolted to the real world at the sound of her name. “Ah yes. Well I’d love to look at it so that we can plan out the arrangement of the collection. Siobhan care to come along?”
Siobhan is acting strange. She is normally at this point she has them eating out of the palm of her hand. Does she know those girls? Well getting her out of here is still the best bet. I just hope that Maria is the only one to go with us.
Siobhan looked at Lexi and nodded with a smile that didn’t reach her eyes. Looking back at Marlin and dropping the smile. “My apologies that the truth leaves you cold and offends you. In case you and your sister did not notice it is cold. So if we are to use the gardens then they would need to be tented and have outdoor heaters placed in them. Depending on how large an area we are talking about we would need to have it set up in advance to that evening. Giving the workers the day of or the day before the presentation would be a smarter choice.” Siobhan was pedantic about her grammar, no contractions, her words crisp and short. Looking over at Maria she gave her a warm smile. “No need to apologize ma’am. You had no idea that we had issue with each other.” Looking back at Marlin she stood. “Other than the garden timing issue I believe that will suffice, thank you.” She looked down over at Vika with a malicious smile. “After all it is not like I will cut you off and tell you that you have to pay for your own drinks while no one else does. Class has to come from somewhere. You were not raised by her.” She indicated Maria in that last sentence. Walking Siobhan crossed to the doorway and stopped not looking over her shoulder but directing her words over to the trio; since Alexandra had gotten up and was halfway to Siobhan. “Marlin I am surprised that you did not notice earlier, or at all really, that your precious Vika is one of the reasons why you lost Joel so easily. But blood does run thicker than water. I am sure if I had a sibling that I would forgive them almost anything. Oh Maria, Lexi and I will be headed over to the manor. If you need more time and will show us later text Lexi. Afternoon ladies.” Siobhan exited with Lexi on her heels and as the door shut you could see Lexi start talking to Siobhan who shrugged and Lexi looked astonished.Marinalia adjusted her necklace slightly, she did not wear it very often so was a still a little strange with diamonds and thicker gold as she almost always wore a lighter one and could feel the difference. “Cold. The weather is a tad cool today...Yes, but as I did not know exact numbers. I kept that door open. If you need it, you got the extra time. I'll trust mum to handle things." Marinalia noted her little perfect use of English but barely reacted drinking some coffee. Maria noted the little slight challenge between them. Surprisingly they both might be more similar than they released. Hence challenges. "Of course Alexandra, Siobhan, I am free for about 2-3 hours. Thank you, though Victoria is my Fiancé's daughter." Adding a slight nudge, wrong or not Victoria lost Darya. She was temperamental when it came to that to say the least. Best a path not traveled, reinforced with a glint of expensive diamond on a certain finger.
Marinalia gave the two a glance but mostly cast a eye to Victoria who eyes flashed like polar ice for a second, relishing about the raising comment, losing her mother at young age. That cut deeper than she knew. "Maria, I think we should get to work."
Victoria was cold, but some subjects where not places she liked to go. With a turn of dark hair and scarily calm slate grey eyes tinged with almost armour. "I probably should get to work, the digital crime wave has not abated. No... I only had letters and diaries." .
Marlin kept calm just going though the flight procedures for a rooftop landing she was teaching that day, they went to leave but Siobhan turned. Well this might be interesting. "Yes, Vika is. But as you said. Blood is a lot thicker and worth a lot more than a boyfriend who more often than not end. He likes Guinness by the way, and I've found fresh runways and hangers anew. Oh, I met a school mate of his Ethan, seems that Gossip column was correct after all. Not that I'm gonna run to press. But someone else may make the link." Well, she had her doubts, and issues. Not that that she would let on and show weakness. The last bit, she knew the Media where assholes, disliking her one thing. Leaving her to those scum was another.
Maria bid the sisters goodbye as they gave a polite goodbye, neutral but not quite as hostile as the start to Alexandra and Siobhan. Truce maybe. But not a warm one. Least they could agree to not quite laying into each other like last time. "Ladies, I shall take you over to the House then, Alexandra will know the Zip code. I'll have to check with my daughter tonight if you wish to do anything major change or addition wise."

Siobhan’s breath hitched as Joel ran his hand through her hair and his comment of not promising too much made her smile. He surprised her by picking her up and she held on loosely trusting him not to drop her as he opened the door and placed her in the driver’s seat. Then he helped her across to the passenger side.
He prompted her to explain the story. Siobhan sighed and laughed softly. “It’s so cliche. I’ll set the scene for you. Lunch time at the University. The cafeteria is peopled with students that, I swear to god, looked like they were reenacting a scene from Mean Girls. Now I’m not friendless but I like to keep clear of the pretentious jerks that populate that school. Case in point, the stalker. So I get my lunch and I go to class early. Well my solitude is intruded upon by a group of swaggering peacocks. Who were arguing that a carburetor is better than fuel injection. I let it go on for a few minutes but it was enough that I had to interrupt. Idiots with no concept of science. I was told that I’m a girl and I don’t know what I’m talking about. I’d had about enough of the fools and insinuated that their gasp on science was less than Jane Goodall’s chimps. Which I had to explain and once I did a challenge was issued. The wager of 5k was at the time enough and till I had my car. Somewhere along the boy became obsessed and it was starting to scare me.” Siobhan watched out the window as they grabbed coffee. “You live you learn. Seeing the signs is like living in the past and I’m not keen to relive that hell.” She looked back at Joel and grimaced. “I have taken up most of the conversation. So tell me what it is about Sol that you have lived here all your life? Is there some buried treasure that you’re looking for? Some old One Eyed Willy legend that you have yet to discover?”
They drove around and enjoyed their coffee and Joel gave her some history on Sol City. She was always a sucker for a good story. She really enjoyed his company and they just seemed to fit together well. After her third jaw cracking yawn they decided that it was time to head home. Siobhan gave Joel a quick kiss in the parking lot. “There is a saying too much of a good thing and I don’t trust myself. Besides I have a feeling you know all the right buttons to push. Good night.”
-Wednesday Lunch-
Siobhan met her parents and Paige at a cafe in Riverside. Introductions were made and when asked what Paige did for a living they were on the subject of what her parents did for a living as well. Siobhan looked back and forth in the verbal tennis that ensued between her mother and Paige after some things were divulged and hinted at. Siobhan kept her face neutral knowing that whatever was on Paige’s mind she was only hitting the tip of the iceberg and for once someone was not being fully forthcoming with her mother. Her eyes would cut to her father now and again. He would nod and “humm” now and again but he didn’t see it either. Well she wasn’t going to tip Paige’s hand but something was bugging her. Her posture was relaxed on the outside but little things made red flags go off in Siobhan’s head. She doubted that anyone but Milo and herself would be able to see it.
Paige was good she had her mother giving her number and the house number halfway through lunch. By the end her father had added his cell in case she needed anything. When boyfriends were brought up Siobhan caught flack for not introducing them to Joel yet. Her mother stressed that she wanted to meet him and Milo. They had practically adopted Paige. At her mother’s dropped hints about a dinner with all of them Siobhan rolled her eyes. Lunch over they went their separate ways.Siobhan handed Paige a box with heels in it. “Cause no one should wonder if they are wonderful.” She smiled and hugged Paige before they left.
-Thursday After Brunch-
Siobhan practically ground her teeth as she listened to Alexandra whine in the car on the way to the manor. Whine!! The woman was in her late thirties and she was whining like a spoilt teenager. “Fine!! I give!! There isn’t another place that has the potential to set the right atmosphere for the collection. Yes I know you looked and called around. I will smile and make nice. I refuse to listen to a grown woman whine so stop.” She shot Alexandra a look that could kill.
As they were pulling up to the place she sneered. Yes this fits them. Overly extravagant and the property taxes would bankrupt anyone who wasn’t possibly padding their income with illegal. I don’t have to think nice things just say nice things. Siobhan stepped out of the car and followed Maria on a tour and listened to Alexandra and Maria plan agreeing on certain things and disagreeing on others. No band, a string quartet on the balcony above the main area fine with tasteful soothing music was fine. The acoustics up there were perfect for that, Maria’s input. Alexandra had the quartet covered. The ballroom for the collection, of course. Drinks in the conservatory. The garden would have to be tented and heated since they were looking at catering to about 200 people give or take a dozen or so. Last minute tickets could pop up. The caterers had enough for over 300 just in case. They were personal friends of Siobhan. Ginny’s mother and father. They always catered anything that Siobhan did, and she didn’t let them cut her a deal on it either. They were flying in tonight and staying with her parents. Siobhan heard Alexandra mentioning them and what time they would be over before the exhibit.
Later that afternoon Siobhan called Joel. “Hey sexy.” She said after he picked up. “So you wanna come over tomorrow? Just Blue Moon, pizza and a movie. Nothing fancy. Besides I am going to get all that fancy shit tomorrow. Plus I need a night to unwind and talk.”
Ethan raised an eyebrow at Reya’s protesting looking her square in the eye. “Me thinks the lady doth protest too much. But that’s okay Marcus can do better. Unless you disagree? If not then why do you protest? He’s good looking, has a job, sings well, plays the guitar very well. All around he’s a damned good catch. Unless you’re holding out for someone famous?” He gave her a hard look and his voice made it seem like the winter storm was a warm rain. “Madam I am taken and with you crushing him as much as you did good luck with getting any other male to look at you twice tonight. No doubt the entire place heard and saw your display. Next time take others into consideration before you hurt someone. You could have at least crushed him at the end of the night after he preformed.” Ethan turned away from her and watched Marcus preform.
For the rest of the night Ethan deliberately ignored Reya. He teased and engaged Marinalia, Xia and Marcus keeping their spirits up. He bought shots for them when she went to the bathroom and went out of his way to be as rude to her as he thought she had been to Marcus. He looked over at her pointedly at the end of the night. “Feeling sucks doesn’t it?” He waved at the others and walked off to the car and drove home.
Marinalia Romus Olympus "Mali" & Victoria Darya Romus "Vika"
Swan songs to Hesphestus Manor Art show . Saturday Evening . Park View district .
Marinalia, Swan songs with Xia, Ethan, Reya, Marcus and more.
The rest of the swan songs evening went abit awkward after Marcus got turned down pretty brutally and cast a sympathetic eye to Marcus, though she toned herself a alittle down round Xia but discreetly kept a foot close or held her hand. She needed the reasurnece in swan songs, it was comforting and despite a peering realexed and social. Her eyes betrayed her vulnerability. As she was driving Marinalia refused everything but one shot, and was fairly easy going round Ethan whom she seemed to think might not be quite the stereotype she expected for a rock star.
The performance was... Pretty nerve racking but felt good for it in a strange way even if she might end up curled up that night with emotional overload. Some scars where too deep for Marinalia to force under for long. Though she would have her bad back to herself again that night, both good and bad. the goodbye kiss did leave her a rather happy lady though driving home.
... Marinalia. Wensday to saturday ...
Marinalia had a busy few days, and the Manor had been alot busier than before the art show teams started to set up there things, luckily they had the upper floors to themselves and they where still calm and keeping the upper door locked was handy way to makesure no one wandered anywhere they where not Ment to be. The 3rd floor was so far away that would quiet even if they worked over night, somthing she had requested they only do if needed. It was a home first, not a vennues and they where protective about there sanctuary.
Xia had been a nice distraction from things, they kept up via text mostly but managed to meet up for lunch together and enjoyed her random conversations with the cheerful Island girl. That distraction had taken her mind off the meeting. She had agreed to a somewhat truce, but that was... Even that had caused a small disagreement that took time to relsove that night. Why could it not have been any other artist? Still, a propper "date" ish Saturday night and after Ethans little nugget, well why hide what made her happy? Joel might have a suprise if he attended, Sio too... She never mentioned Xia, or her well, after all her bad luck with guys lately, maybe this one would turn out alright?
Her work was one thing that she loved and once the airport was open again Marinalia was alert but normally could relax abit once they got a alittle further out on the loops. There was less traffic though the inner city flight lesson had resulted in a few times she needed to take the controls, however for a first lesson in the city centre they did not do too bad. That section of the test they definitely would need a few more lessons.
Friday afternoon was a off as the helicopter was in for maintenance, paperwork was up to date and most of the department had taken a early firday. Unlike normal airports they worked odd hours, but not constant. There never was ernough students and they alternated alot as many where in diffrent phases such a day, night, dawn, dusk and other aspects of the job. Now she had chance, well riding through the Atlas park, a gentle trot as the horse took a alittle easing out on the pathway before checking the map and with a quick change of pace began to pick up the pace, jumping a few logs as long blonde hair bounced behind her and quickly veered her mount through the woods and past a few Suprised hikers when a woman and horse bounded down a stream and jumped the bank before heading back. She loved doing abit more cross country and wild riding than just the trails...
... Victoria, Thursday to saturday ...
Things where abit quieter for Victoria work was normal, but the meeting was certainly not Normal and why did it have to be Siobhan? Anyone but that damned red head. That after she had been abit annoyed at work, Maria had to talk with them later and it had taken her abit of wine that late afternoon to relax after. Still she was feeling... A alittle off, probbly just the cure. It happened alot as it was experimental. She kept a diary of things as part of what they asked though.
Ethan went well, that and a evening of rather active stress relase was definitely a good distraction to her problems in Thursday evening even though she really really was not feeling like work after that "entertainment". Someone did notice her slight smirk in the morning, her work mates teased her somewhat, but she never really revealed the name of her "boyfriend" so they claimed, they where more... Well not friends but definitely not quite a couple yet, just a vauge tall, blonde, handsome, and musical. She really did not want the shit from media, or fan girls. Though that did start a betting pool if it was someone in the company.
Victoria was leaning back on bed after trying to make sense of the strange facts she had found about. Now Marinalia had given her a Joel riddle with Siobhan and was trying to pick together the whole... Problem she seemed to think was there. Only it is as not really one, personally she did not quite exactly think the Ethan Story was perfect, but it did have a few parts that made sense. There is as a story there maybe but maybe not exactly that particular version... Least it distracted her from thr coming art event on tommrow evening.
... Marinalia dress ...
Marinalia was rather apprehensive as the ground floor, now gallery was finished. Turning in a mirrored wardrobe, wearing the same white and gold gown from the gala, this dress needed a happy memory or she never wear it. A abit of help from Victoria to get it to look right, it was difficult but once on... Worth it. Full lengh and white and gold Greeken design, entirely backless with a high slit to her thigh on side, it was not conservative but it did look very nice, plus as she was not leaving home... No coats, taxis or so.
Finding a pair of lower metalic coloured heals and picking instead her more simple but stylish silver nicklace of linked Stars over a planet, Maria had say to dress up, and we'll this one made the most of hard earned athletic figure. Smiling a alittle, she did her blonde hair down but in a lose braid with a glittering bit of costume jewelry. Not expensive but a nice accessory.
White with gold details.
... Victoria Dress ...
Victoria had managed to aquire a new dress to fit, a task and a half, her old wardrobe did not suit her new dark hair and skin tone, instead a blood red Ruby necklace on a short silver chain and a modern deep Navy blue Cocktail dress, strapless at the top showing off her alabaster skin tone tucked in at the waist and a slightly lighter material skirt above the knee and flaring slightly. Flat but strapy matching shoes, well a tiny heal but barely worth mentioning. Her recent feelings and wobbles She really did not trust heals right now.
Finishing up with her hair fairly natural, still learning how make the deep Raven black work in multiple ways, a gold and red gemmed costume jewellery bracelet glittering on her wrist, though with her size and conditions, she did not mention it had to be in one of the the smallest size you could find for ladies jewellery. Her normal glittering ice blue diamond ring on her finger. She never took it off much, she had her mother's ring locked up in London, that one she was too scared to wear for fear of losing it among other personal effects of Darya,s.
... Maria Thursday to Saturday , dress . Saturday evening with sisters ...
Maria parked her white Bentley by the side of the house, rented but she loved having a powerful car. The planning sessions with Alexandria had taken a while for them to agree. They both had some pretty strong ideas and eventually found a middle that worked perfectly. She knew the house better, Alexandra knew the art. Both women where pretty big on planning and knew the works. It did lead to a few clashes but they worked well ernough, Maria hoped Siobhan`s art was up there with her dress sense though, she had only seen a small sample of the works.
The house was set up, the ballroom had the art works placed, the order had been changed more times than she could count till perfect and the entry had been set up for arivials with fresh flowers and few areas to sit down and mingle. A larger area set up in the gardens was... Up extremely quickly and the bar come conservatory was being busied about preparing for the evening. Heading up the stairs, she glided up to have a final word with the two sisters.
Everything was ready, the house the garden and the various staff shiobhan and Alexandria had required. Not that the caters seemed as friendly to them as others for some reason. Now all they had to was wait for the ticketed guests and the two dates. Fluffy would be staying upstairs, curled in front of fire and sleepy, she had worn her dog out in a morning run round Corona Park though Fluffy always seemed to manage to find a way to get some fuss from her mistress or the sisters.
Deciding to make a impression, well Maria was not exactly on her first rodeo as she twirled in the mirror by the stairs for the exact puropee of checking before you headed downstairs. A long and flowing black dress with materals and very dark tones for depth. Glittering with crystals against the luxurious black. A few details in silver broke up the deep black with highlights. A strong contrast to her gold blonde hair but it worked, eyes glittering gold with her makeup to make the rare eye colour all more prominent.
Greeting Marinalia and Victoria, both least managed to look the part if happy to have there home back after this evening, a bottle of champagne popping open. "Cheers, to a quiet evening! And yes I know your a trouble magnet Mali..." she had a few things to discuss before there evening began. There choice in dates where definitely... Well Marinalia had admitted a tall caribian woman and Victoria a rockstar of sorts... No one in this fnaily seemed to do anything by halves.

"Okay, remind me again why we're dolling up like this?"
"We need to look our very best for this art gallery, you know that, James."
"Could someone fetch me some cologne?!"
"Don't got cologne, but we have air freshener!"
"Come on, come on, we're gonna be late!"
With the art gallery starting, Reya, Ryan, and their friends decided to group up and go together. But first they had to deal with everyone getting dressed and fancied up. "One must wonder why we decided to get ready here of all places..." Ryan mumbled, adjusting his teal-colored tie before sitting down besides his sister, who was staring down at her phone. "You alright there, Rei?" he asked her, earning a nod in reply. "...Still feel bad about what happened Tuesday?" he asked again, with another nod in reply.
"You should've brought me with you, or James at least. We would've busted Rapunzel's ass for being such an...ya know, an ass!"
"Not to mention your brother's got a vendetta for the bar fight incident." James spoke up, being dusted off with a feather duster by Felicity.
"She got nearly got a concussion from a bottle to the head! Of course I'm not over it!!" Ryan yelled back to the brunette. While everyone was busy, Reya was figuring out how to ask Marcus if he wanted to go to the art gallery with her. Yet she was nervous about sounding different from what she meant, like last time. Goldilocks was right about one thing though, he deserves better... she thought. Taking a quick breath, she finally sent him a message.
Hey Marcus. If you're not busy, maybe you could go to the art gallery with me and Ryan? I don't know if that's something you're into, but it could be fun!
(Don't worry about getting a ticket though, I got that covered!)
"Okay, so that's James, Lee, Kim, Ryan, Iris, Elliot, Michael, Samantha," Felicity counted everyone who was properly dressed. "me, and..." She stopped counting and looked at Reya. Actually, all of them were. "...What?" Rei hesitantly asked. Immediately she was picked up by Felicity, and dragged back to her room. "We won't be long guys!"
A few minutes and a quick game of cards later, the two girls walked back into the living room, with Reya dressed up in a black and white dress. "I-I don't know about this-"
"Shut up, ya' look adorable." Lee interrupted Reya. "Now should we get going?"
"Not yet." Felicity searched through her bag and grabbed an opal necklace."Just to go with the outfit!" she said, giving it to Rei. "Right, now we can go!" But first, the group had to visit the museum to get tickets. The twins were surprised at the prices, but Reya managed to pay for everyone with a check, buying three VIP tickets, four standard tickets, and four elite tickets. "So three hundred and twenty, plus eighty, plus six hundred..." Ryan added up the cost. "That equals to an exact thousand. Huh, thought these would be more expensive than that. What's with the third VIP ticket anyways?" he asked Reya, passing out the rest of the tickets. "Oh, I-It's just for someone I'm expecting to see..." Rei explained. "Well it better be worth it." Afterwards, everyone had finally arrived at the manor. While the others had made their way inside, Rei waited by the entrance to see if Marcus would arrive.
As promised, Paige and Sio arrived in front of the pristine white stone manor at late evening just as a gentle mist was settling outside and the first street lamps were beginning to flicker to life for the last gasps of day in Park View. The hand-laid, polished stone driveway reflected the bright orange paint of a certain Italian sports car that Paige had her eye on from several weeks ago. There never seemed to be a really good time to go for it, but she always checked-in with her contacts in the motor pool remembering her promise and hoping it would still be available. With her street cred at an all time high and considering their mutual disdain for certain members of the hosting party, the current arrangement seemed as good a time as any to make the move and “borrow” it for the night so they could make a fitting entrance to Sio's big night. Heads turned as they crossed through the narrow iron gates into the driveway arch where a valet was waiting under an awning assembled at the front steps for distinguished guests.
The last time she wore a dress or any real measure of makeup was her date with Milo after they put-away the gangster, Jackie Costa and she had gone with an old standard from the back of the closet that night. However, for the Art Showing she let Sio talk her into buying a new one which was something she hadn’t done in what felt like years. She protested a little, but it wasn’t hard to see, especially for Sio, that she wanted to do it and didn't mind borrowing some of the redhead's arm bangles and earrings to match. Since she first landed in Sol, Siobhan had become like a sister to her and was the best friend she had since Ana. Whatever poor excuse was keeping her race car driver boyfriend away for the night didn’t need to be justified to Paige, she was used to picking up men’s slack, although she couldn’t be too hard on Sio about her boyfriend’s choices, there was always a chance Milo would get stuck dealing with some pushy customer at his shop. A part of her was glad Sio's squeeze had called out- they would have much more fun without the guys.
As they pulled up with a tap of the throttle, she smiled devilishly at the attention they were attracting and she had to admit to herself that she was already having a good time and didn’t care about what anyone else thought of them, particularly the elitist, northwestern snobs of Sol City. Meeting up had been fun, the drive-over had been even more fun and she felt for a few moments like she was free of her burdens as a Marshal and was just a regular person for a night. It may have been a little high-schoolish, but the feeling was near therapeutic. She lifted the door as it slid elegantly vertical from her hand and placed a heeled shoe on the marble driveway rising slowly from the low driver’s seat that was nearly on the ground itself. The shoes Sio bought for her hurt like the devil lifting her several inches, but it was okay, they matched smartly with her royal blue dress, a color choice hearkening to her college days at UF and made Sio happy which was the most important part.
The valet cautiously offered his hand to accept the key catching the flash of her green eyes as she scanned around the outside of the large home with some curiosity and her small purse in hand. Her blonde hair was simply down, unfettered by its usual ponytail or braid arching away and flowing over her shoulders from the part above her left eye. She glanced over her shoulder to Sio then back at the young man daintily allowing the keys to drop into his hand. “Now you be careful,” She said politely in her customary southern accent. “A scratch on that car is gonna be a dent in your ass.”

Siobhan was pleasantly surprised that Paige picked her up in a Lambo. On top of that they looked sexy in the car. That was pleasant and she needed that. Siobhan hadn’t seen Joel since last night when they both agreed that his coming wouldn’t be a good thing for him. It was nice to know that they could come to a mutual understanding without yelling at each other. He did need to get his head fully in the game with Rebellion and had planned on doing some driving this weekend. She had asked him to pick her up after everything shut down with the art show. She didn’t plan on being around for the after party for very long or if at all. She didn’t really know when it ended but he’d told her to take her time and call him when she was done.
Siobhan was very excited that Paige had borrowed a few pieces of her jewelry. They were authentic and native to Israel and she decided not to let Paige know that they were real. Then she wouldn’t wear them even though she looked fantastic in them. She noticed that Paige was wearing the shoes she’d bought her and she smiled to herself as Paige pulled up to the valet. Paige was being her usual sassy self and Siobhan laughed softly.
Siobhan lifted the door open still laughing softly. She put out her right leg and showed off a long lean leg. Her shoes were to die for. They had her favorite comic book male on them Gambit. Since she looked so much like Rogue she found it funny that he should be her favorite. The dress was elegant and sexy. It was fitted on snuggly but not painted on and her deep hourglass figure was set off to its best advantage. As she rose up to her now 6’1” she patted her hair lightly. Smiling over at Paige she sashayed up to her and tucked her arm in her own. “Be nice to the man. He looks very posh and he isn’t some man eating harpy succubus thing. Besides he doesn’t have a diamond on so he couldn’t scratch the Lambo if he tried.” She grinned at the valet who blushed and ran around to shut the passenger door. He then got in and drove slowly away to park the car. Siobhan mock frowned. “You frightened the poor man. Oh well. Let’s go have fun!! I don’t care who is in there, whose house this is or how nasty they will be to me later. We are having fun tonight!! We deserve it!! Now move your hips like you don’t have a boyfriend.”
Giggling they went up to the front door and rang the bell. Lexi let them in. She was wearing a nice dress with a strand of pearls that made her look very elegant. “Evening Lexi, you look very elegant. Lexi; Paige, my best friend, practically sister. Paige; Lexi, my agent. How are things and where are we setting up this Private Meet the Artist for the VIPs?”
Lexi pointed across the space to the conservatory. “You two look smashing!! Right this way. Just mingling and what not before all of the guests show up for the dinner and unveiling.” She lead them over to the conservatory and showed them in. They were the first to arrive.
Siobhan waived to Lexi as she took her post at the door. She’d end up in here after all VIPs were accounted for. Siobhan walked over to the bar. “Martini. Gin not vodka don’t you dare make it with vodka.” She mock scowled at the older man who grinned at her.
“Wouldn’t dream of it ma’am.” He grabbed the Gin, Vermouth and the olives. He looked up at Siobhan quizzically.
“Shaken not stirred and very dirty. Oh and more than one olive. I like my drinks like Bond liked his. Plus I like that the staff has clothes on and aren’t half or mostly naked. If I’d let those...girls plan anything there’d oiled up men running around serving everyone. Talk about tacky. Paige what would you like? Tom Collins? Long Island Iced Tea? Mint Julep?” She teased Paige as the bartender made her drink.
Marcus played better than usual, that night at Swan Songs. Something about being kicked in the emotions adding to the performance. It was moody music, a combination of his own songs, and a collection of obscure covers, but he had a style that worked well for the vibe of the venue. Chill but emotional and passionate. It was clear to anyone watching the young musician that he’d had his fair share of struggles, but was making it work for him. The set also included an impromptu collaboration with Marin and Xia, playing a classic ballad, Hallelujah. It was fun, and had the whole venue singing along.
The rest of the night was rather awkward, with Ethan seemingly going out of his way to be rude to Reya. Marcus did what he could to try to alleviate the awkwardness and keep the girl from feeling attacked, but the rockstar didn’t make it easy. He pulled him aside at the end of the night, giving him a half smile. “Look, I appreciate you’re probably just sticking up for me or whatever, but you really don’t have to be so mean to Reya… She didn’t mean anything by her reaction before, she was just caught off guard. Really, it doesn’t bother me, so it shouldn’t bother you either.” He was lying a little, when he said it didn’t bother him, but he wasn’t lying when he said she didn’t mean anything by it. He still liked the girl, and didn’t like seeing Ethan being so rude to her.
Marcus spent the rest of the week like usual, playing guitar and writing some new stuff at home, and working at Club Aether. He’d been getting fairly regular shifts, which was great for him. Working lots meant he had less time to overthink things. Over all, he didn’t feel too bad about Tuesday night. Especially because Reya had been making an effort to talk to him during the week. They got coffee at one point, and had texted back and forth quite a bit. They’d started getting to know each other pretty well, but Marcus was still unsure of where the relationship was going. They hadn’t brought up the idea of “dating” since Tuesday, and neither of them were really game to mention the subject again.
Marcus sat at the bar of Club Aether, sipping at a pint after knocking off work for the day. He’d done the early shift again, so he had the night to himself. He scrolled absently through his facebook feed on his phone, not really paying attention to anything, until his phone vibrated and a notification lit up. It was a message from Reya, inviting him to go to an Art show that night. It wasn’t exactly his scene, but it was another opportunity to hang out with Rei, and maybe see where things were going. “Uhhh…. Dusty… Help…” He called out to his self-appointed work bestie who was currently behind the bar, and held his phone out to her. “What do…”
Dustynn, dumping a bag of ice into the machine hopped off the step ladder and walked over to him. Her eyes darted across his phone screen as she read the text from Reya, the girl Marcus had been mentioning in conversation for the week. Looking up at him she gave a sly smirk, her eyebrows raising suggestively as she pulled back, "What do you need help with? Say yes!" she pushed him playfully in the arm, "If she's asking you, she obviously wants to go, if she didn't want to she wouldn't have." she nodded, encouraging it. She knew Marcus was nervous about the entire thing, but he honestly had nothing to worry about.
Marcus sighed softly, but nodded. She had a fair point. He wasn’t sure why he felt so nervous about it all, but just the thought of putting himself out there again kinda scared him. “You’re right…” He mumbled, before finishing his beer. “What’s the worst that could happen, really? Worst case scenario, we’re just going to a fancy art show as friends.” Marcus forced a smile onto his face, which eventually turned into a real smile. “Alright, I’m gonna go.” It wasn’t long before that smile turned into a look of worry. “Oh god… What am I gonna wear…” He bolted up off his seat, ran around behind the bar to give Dustynn a hug, before grabbing his bag and heading out the door. “Thanks for the advice Dusty, I’ll let you know how it goes!”
He got home as quickly as possible, rushing into his room and flinging open his wardrobe, pulling out something he had not worn in several years. His high school prom suit. “I hope this still fits me…” He mumbled to himself as he laid it down on his bed and got into the shower. He had what was possibly the quickest shower he ever had, wasting no time in standing there in reflection like he normally would. He got himself clean and got out, drying himself quickly and starting to put on the suit. Thank god he hadn’t grown much since High School and it still fit. He struggled with a few minutes with the tie, eventually resorting to pulling up a youtube tutorial. ONce he was ready, he stared at himself in the mirror for a few moments. He hated how he looked in suits, but he hoped he didn’t look too bad to anyone else. He grabbed a hair brush and ran it through his hair a few times, sweeping his fringe over his left eye like usual, and picked up his phone.
“Hey Rei, thanks for the invite! I’m on my way now :)"
He sent the message to Reya as quickly as his thumbs would let him, before ordering an Uber, grabbing his wallet and heading downstairs. It wasn’t a cheap Uber ride from his apartment to the mansion, but luckily he’d been working quite a bit, and could afford it. His jaw dropped as they pulled up outside the mansion and he saw Reya standing there, seemingly waiting for him, looking gorgeous. “Wow…” He mumbled to himself, luckily still in the car so she couldn’t see him staring. Marcus regained his composure and turned to give the Uber driver a smile. “Thanks man, enjoy the rest of your night.” He said, tipping the man $10 before getting out of the car, and walking over to Reya. “Hey Rei… You… You look amazing…” He said with a wide smile, offering the girl hug. There was no denying he was a little nervous, but he was doing his best to hide it.
Marinalia Romus Olympus "Mali" & Victoria Darya Romus "Vika"
Swan songs to Hesphestus Manor Art show . Saturday Evening . Park View district .
Victoria hered the sound of the engine in the courtyard out front easily though the area they where in faced towards the gardens, large roofs of canves and so now covered the majority as Siobhan art show was so large. They had decided to use the garden after all. Heading to her office, well she had a link set up to all the cameras and could watch all the entrances to see whom it was had the nice car. Did not takw long to see a bright orange lambo... But the people walking out of it where her two favourite people... Paige, and Siobhan... Both of em just like that awful wensday what felt like a age ago. Not that they stood out bar the car, dressed... Nice, red, royal blue... And more complicated when she had told Marilania what her research had found. She arrested Bob. Siobhan was dating Joel, and Milo according to insulation was dating Paige? Add Marinalia deciding to fall for Xia, life definitely would not be boring tonight for sure.
Gah... What kinda rom com over complexity was that?
Closing the door, luckily it was rather quiet after that, she dialed Ethan, remembering the number off by heart as since the intrest at work and all, she left that one a alittle less obvious, not out of shame but caution. How would she handle the art event? After... That was raiser... Though ernough people to distract long as not a sore thumb. If a few worked it out, vwell that could be dealt with when it came around. Pushing call.."Hey Ethan, my dark and exciting friend. Turns out Siobhan... The artist dating Joel Nicolsi is here... But now she brought the woman who dating my ex, and to top it all off I cannot keep my dislike as I suspect she one who... Helped bring the filth who hurt my sister in. " somewhat ranting abit, Victoria calmed down abit, and thanks to a alittle advice worked out how to settle her mental mess, cold logic was not working that night. " would not say no to a alittle stress release after if yous get my gist... Oh come on, we both know we fucked up people, why I like you ... Vodka disagreed, and its far more fun... See you soon, my grey Prince. " teasing a alittle, there relationship made no real sense at times hut it worked... And they both where somewhat darker and a alittle... Intense at times. Grey, well not prince charming like Marinalia joked but not black, both there lived where shades of grey.
Marinalia was looking a alittle nervous talking to Maria, probbly about the whole date thing more than event. she was almost regretting it, then thought back to swan songs, Xia had made her happier and let her face her fears, even performing on stage though her shaking hand never left Xia,s for a while after. Sol had thrown her one good chance and ruined it, well not let it happen a second. "You look Gorgeous, so relax. I know... It's.. Just be natural. You said yourself your happy with her, so enjoy it, forget about the guests. And if he turns up... We cross that bridge later. " A short hug from Marinalia before Maria left, well she was right, course she was it was mum, and a late night call to Marla last night. "Thanks, but I get my looks from you, so take some of the compliment. Yeah, I never had chance to worry before, it was spontaneous or well, just together. Siobhan will have a suprise... Serves her right. 8am is not a Saturday friendly work start. " happy, and offering Maria a hand up as she wnated some more wine first, her long backless white down showing a enviable figure with a high split of well toned and tanned leg. Waving them off she waited to know if she meeting Xia upstairs or down. Though hopefully, she might stop over, she might need her help getting to sleep of it went bad down there.
...
Heading down the curving marble stairs, Victoria and Maria left a still nervous, but more reassured Marinalia to wait for her date, though the team switch had Suprised them both, Marlin was ever so slowly returning to her old self, a fact that had worried Maria seeing her in a shell of her own making. With a click of expensive red soled heals and black dress glittering Maria looked very much elegant, longer and suited her age much as she disliked being seen as old.
Victoria gave a quiet whisper of "so not dating " she recognised the description from Marinalia talking about how some couple had been nudging but not ernough to leave Port. She did have a cute dress on. Oh it was th guy who tried to hot on her at nightclub... Must have a thing for petite ladies... Giving them a wave, she recognised them both but left the couple be before reaching the main floor. "Drinks? Ethan works to his own schedule. He be here." she apecpted he was, well him. They both could be a alittle selfish? Determined? Victoria was not sure what word fit. Though feeling smaller next to Maria in heals that would be nothing vs the main bar.
The couple Marinalia would definitely reconise, though from the description of events, she had been pretty harsh on the guy, a brief wave in passing interrupting.. Nope. They needed to set sail. She did wonder if Marcus would reconise the slightly gothic lady, now dressed up in a moder blue cocktail dress and so.
And because Victoria had upset the fates or so she thought that momment, two very tall women where waiting, one blonde and a red head, both dressed up and very tall... Damned heals. Maria seemed to take it in her stride though, far more used to such situations. Noticing the unknown woman, she seemed fierce and seemed to get on with the red headed artist. "Congratulations on a excellent event, Alexandria was not joking when she said she could peform miracles nore about dressing excellently.
And, i quite enjoyed Marla's addition, if only I was my daughters age and single... Courgette Martini please Barman. Dr Maria Olympus." a twist, she ordered a rather less famous cousin to the classic, a upper class and rather gentle English accent for the present. Apart from the suprising and beutetful gold eyes, it was obvious whom was her daughter. The glittering ring on her certain finger, diamonds definitely ran in the family and all the women had at least one signiture diamond peice.
Victoria mentally shook her head at how tall Siobhan was, Paige, Alexandria, jeez. They definitely did not have height issues. The "man eating harpy Sucubus" masked her previous emotions and looked round looking how they had do rapidly changed her home and built the large tempaory extension, and brought everything together in a matter of days. Knowing what she did, she was not sure how to react to round Paige, well suspected anyway. It add one more peice to her puzzle of what was going on in Sol city. Luckily being tiny, she could evade there gaze slightly. Her accent retained it's pretty much permanent Russian twinge. "Rasberry gin and tonic please, with ice
And the men where quite handsome Maria. Don t worry, I'm just waiting for my date tonight. " Looking back, she hoped Ethan would arrive soon, and being well... Ethan no doubt he had the best tickets. As she turned back the blood red Ruby necklace and nice, but still costume jewellery bracelet of red and gold contrasted with the ice blue diamond on her finger. Her blue dress did suit her, the darker tones worker with pale skin and contrasting deep black hair.
Wondering of Milo or Joel would turn up... That could get... Awkward potentially. Though Xia might throw them for a loop for a few minutes. Though it was her home, so that gave her abit of a feeling of confidence about the situations presently. "fashionablely late I'm betting" saying that very quietly to herself, she never planned to walk into the worlds most awkward bar scenario with. A slightly wobble, fractional but Maria was alot more intune with Victoria than the others and steadied her without making too obvious pretending to pull her over for a quiet word. Well not but it was a handy cover none the less. "we get though it, at worst you can take a break upstairs until, or Ethan can handle himself quite fine you seemed to imply. "
Joel scratched at his stubble in the afternoon light. Leaned against the rally car, they were taking a short break before running one more late stage and he was glancing over a few messages from Sio on his phone. The girls were about to head over for her art showing at that gaudy mansion where Marlin and her sister lived and he shook his head with some disgust and disappointment. In truth, he had wanted to go, but after finding out about the unwelcoming change of venue, there was no doubt that his presence there would have only caused more problems and as Sio reminded him, he had to really start considering his image if he was going to be on an international stage. With the newness and shock of his win in the Sol City Grand Prix fading away, people were expecting, particularly his teammates and sponsors, to see driver Joel put up podium finishes and not drama laden headlines.
Glancing over his shoulder to the west, he could see the city in the distance from their temporary service area set up in the parking lot of the Mount Atlas Observatory. Taking in the sun setting behind broken rain clouds, his thoughts were mixed between Sio, getting his mind right for the drive and combining the two urges. Jamaica was primarily going to be about speed and power with fast switchbacks and quick turns over junctions from dirt to pavement and plenty of jumps. However the Blue Mountain stage was notoriously difficult and wound around what amounted to nothing more than a goat path requiring finesse and patience from the driver. Sio was going to come with him several thousand miles to support him, but he couldn’t even go across town to support her and it irked at him as the team’s mechanics worked on the car behind him filling the quiet forest air with the sound of pneumatic tools and ratchet gears. He was ready to put the pedal on the floor and finish out the night, but took a picture of the city from his vantage point and sent it to her along with two videos of some his previous drives earlier in the afternoon.
Joel and his co-driver, a Dutch South-African named Max with a last name Joel could barely pronounce, rolled out onto the parkway a few moments later, turning off the main drive and accelerating down an old narrow logging trail as they blazed around the side of the mountain heading for the valley below. They had drove together since Joel came onboard and with consistent practice, had a pretty natural working groove in the car. Max read the pace-notes in rapid succession, not getting too far ahead: Right four over crest, keep right… Left three, tightens… Sixty… Into hairpin left!. Joel’s hands worked the shifter and the wheel in response to the notes. The exhaust crackled and howled through the woods while the turbo chirped with each motion of the throttle. Melted snow and rain made the course a sloshy mess of mud and clay that sprayed in a fan from the back of the car. The bright orange Rebellion R on the side was barely visible under a layer of dirt as Joel gave the handbrake a quick pull and brought the tail around for the turn throwing gravel over the side of a near vertical escarpment. It was the last run of the day and he was pushing to let his frustrations out.
They broke out onto a long straight in the valley below and Joel had his foot on the floor, gripping the wheel tightly with both hands against the onslaught of the broken terrain as they flung ‘round another long turn so sideways he was watching the trail ahead through the side window. One-twenty… then big jump, Caution logs… And square right onto tar. Max announced over the radio. The car went airborne and Joel could see glimmering evening on Atlas Lake through the forest in his periphery as the tachometer needle beat against the rev limiter. They landed slightly nose down and Joel got on the brake to swing the squared double-corner where two large piles of cut timber awaited pickup in the morning. They came around the first one with the nose of the car nearly scraping away the sap bringing a cocky grin to Joel’s face that dropped instantly when he saw one misplaced cord jutting out and snapped the the wheel back hard to compensate before the passenger side mirror was instantly sheared off.
“Dear God…” Max muttered as the car rocked from the extra input on the wheel and the tires screeched over the pavement dipping into the opposing ditch with momentum. Joel stayed in the throttle and jinked the wheel again to correct causing the car to rock back and forth before settling again. The course was over and he sped on down the highway towards their home base.
“That’s probably enough for today.” Joel lightly snickered over the radio fully aware of how close they had come to destroying the car. His heart was pounding as the moment instantly replayed in his head. He was pretty sure he could see the the chainsaw groove in the log that had taken away the mirror. He shook his head as the adrenaline wore away and they drove on wondering how Sio was doing.
The event during swan songs was turning out to be quite interesting. Such characters as Marcus and Ethan and both males sort of interacting to this Reya individual from what Xia saw. Xia was quite happy to have Mali go and join in the song with Marcus. Xia of course was not really nervous. She was used to having spectators in her matches so...what's the difference in them singing? She was more nervous for Marin and Marcus but hey, she gave this an a grade A for their efforts to get in front of people to sing.
All in all, Xia enjoyed herself staying supportive to Marin and getting into more conversation with her and Ethan. Her thoughts on the two males, Xia could say they were some alright men. Maybe another time they could all meet again and get to know a little bit more about each other? Who knows? Xia already started to branch out with Marin so...why not others that she knows. Xia could have Marin meet all the people she knows but they are all back in south Florida and on the islands. A little later, Xia was a little surprised that Marin willingly kissed her in public but also delighted about the date that Marin set up for an art event. Art? Well...she didn't have anything against it, she's just never been to one before and would she be able to fit in? Fuck it! She'd go for Marin. Xia would give Marin another peck on the lips upon accepting the invitation and exercised her gratefulness and support. Of course, this was all probably response from Marin finding out she may have been played by this Joel individual.
Now, after the event, when both Marin and Xia left, Xia decided that she'll head back to her apartment to help her caveman cousin and get some heat back up but made sure the bastard cleaned the place back up once again. She'd keep in touch with Marin, taking Wednesday off to do her own thing and to get her cousin acquainted with Sol City talking to him about the different things she's seen here.
Taking this day off, the weather was getting a bit better. Xia was up and about texting Marin that morning but also getting her cousin up to get them on the same page. Carlo asked about Marin and Xia calmly this time spoke to him about her. Carlo...like before..don't go thinking you're going to get with her okay? Marin is a good friend of mine...we...may be a bit more now but don't concern yourself about her. If you wan a woman...get with them for the right reasons or....you can go to one of those clubs to meet someone for a one night stand if that's what you're looking for... Xia did have a one night stand before since being in Sol but she didn't want that happening again. After giving her cousin the ins and outs of the city, she encouraged him to get out and meet people. And not the kind of people that would get him into shit again but good people that would help make him into a better person.
She would eventually meet with Marin after Marin told her that she needed to find a dress for the event but...there was a little disagreement between the two when Xia claimed she was going to pay for her own ticket but Marin insisted that she was pay for it. Xia was being a bit stubborn but damn...Marin took the stubborness to a new level telling Xia that she will have her ticket ready for her as if it was not optional for Xia to by them. Xia huffed but she eventually gave in to let Marin buy them for her. The meet up a the mall was a bit eventful because now, Xia would look for something to wear at this get together. Knowing how Xia was, she had to find something daring...cheeky, as Marin would put it and then bam!! she found something that she know fit her. May give a few funny looks but hey, Xia didn't give a fuck what people think.
After finding her dress for the art show, she later spend a little more time before splitting from Marin to get herself prepared for Saturday. Thursday and friday, Xia did a half day at work, of course still keeping in touch with her English friend but yet a little nervous about this next event. Why though? Maybe it was something she's never been to before but she was bound to enjoy herself regardless.
Xia was in her room finally dressed and rushed to the bathroom to get on her make up and finish her sprucing as she finally came out and called up a taxi. Carlo was getting ready to head out himself but upon him noticing his cousin, he looked her up and down. Well goddamn!! Where the hell you going tonight? Xia smirked with her lipstick that matched the color of her dress. Just going out to have a nice evening tonight with my girl. I figure we ought to have some fun tonight. She may be nervous about me coming but...she needs my support. Don't wait up for my Cuzzo. I'll see you later tonight....if not...tomorrow. She winked and headed out when the taxi showed up. She had her hair did up and upon getting to the taxi, the driver stared at her hard. Xia noticed and smirked
Like what you see? Keep on staring and you might burn a hole through me, hun. Hephestus Manor, Park View please... She smiled as she headed there.
Upon getting there, Xia got out the car. This was going to be some fancy schmancy shit but she was going to try to be on her best behavior. Was there going to be drama. She wouldn't doubt it but she was coming in with confidence to be there for her girl, Marin. She texted her to let her know she was there and heading in as she was down stairs at the entrance. When coming up, she noticed what everyone was wearing and well...she showed off what she was wearing as well.
She waited until Marin would show up to greet her as she would basically be hanging around her for the majority of the night.
Paige politely returned Lexi’s cordial greetings as they entered the manor looking over the impressive Parisian-style decor as they walked together through the atrium and thinking how silly it was that only two people lived in the giant house alone. It was no wonder Marlin was a ball of nerves and Vika was just a spoiled brat, both proof enough that money alone was never a cure-all. There were a few of Siobhan’s paintings arrayed as they walked and Paige instantly scanned around for the one with the now-well-known, bullet holes, though not finding it. As she had figured, Sio dismissed it completely so Paige was free to enjoy the novelty though she still felt a small twinge of guilt about what happened. A few well-dressed onlookers greeted them warmly with high spirits as they entered the conservatory and Sio made her way to the bar.
For several weeks, Paige got to hear the story of the infamous Gala night from Sio and the childish demand from Victoria that Sio pay for her own drinks while everyone else indulged for free. Combined with the heavy scratch inflicted on her car, also by Victoria, that cost several hundred dollars to repair, the little rat had accumulated quite a tab against the two of them and Paige had it figured to around $1400. As Sio approached the bar assembly, Paige perused around the smaller room curiously admiring the ornate details of the interior architecture before she peeked around the counter finding the first item she was after among the bottles of liquor, wine and other assorted alcohols that the hosts had so proudly put on display and remembering that per the agreement, the homeowners would be covering the bar tab for Sio and her family.
“Cancel that.” Paige said casually as Sio ordered a drink. The barman turned and regarded her strangely, unsure of what to say as the blonde dipped behind the bar as if it belonged to her and placed a black, textured bottle on the counter. “We’ll be having this one first.”
The man looked apprehensive eyeing the bottle hesitantly before catching the green glare in Paige’s eyes as she tilted her head slightly with a playful insistence. He reached for the corkscrew, but Paige pushed it away. “No, no, dear. This is a special occasion.” She had spied out the second item she was looking for encased behind the counter. “It’s okay,” She said, now fully behind the bar. “I got this…”
Being around Milo and his HEMA sword fighting hobby for so long had brushed off considerably on Paige. She was nowhere near Ana in ability, but liked sharing his hobbies with him, the same as when they went to the gun range together. She’d seen him do it more than once and demanded that he show her the technique: Removing the sabre from its casing, she slowly twirled it a revolution through her fingers scaring the hell out of the barman just as Vika and the rest of her trope descended into the conservatory like a wet blanket. Looking Victoria dead in the eye and with the chandelier light glinting off the polished blade, Paige removed the cork from the bottle in one swift motion.
Mentions: Joel, Agent, Maria, Marinalia & Victoria
Siobhan raised an eyebrow as Paige stopped the bartender from making the Martini. Siobhan watched Paige slide behind the bar barely suppressing the laugh that rose up in her at the face of the bartender when that happened. The bottle that Paige pulled out was one that Siobhan had seen once in her life. It was a 3,000 dollar bottle of champagne that was actually from memory a pretty damned good one. Smirking Siobhan looked over and saw that Vika, Maria and a couple of other people were headed this way. When Paige said this was a special occasion Siobhan looked back over at her.
Just as Paige pushed away the corkscrew Siobhan heard others enter the conservatory. The swish of tulle and satin Siobhan rolled her eyes. The clack of heels almost drowned out the sound of Paige pulling the dagger from its sheath. In one swift motion looking over at the group that Siobhan noticed earlier Paige uncorked the champagne. Siobhan kept her back to the group and motioned for a pair of champagne flutes. As this happened the group came up to the bar. As Maria asked for a drink and Siobhan turned with a smile and held her hand out for a champagne flute as soon as it was full. “Hello. I’m sorry Paige and I thought that we had a bit more time till the VIPs started to show up. Please make yourselves comfortable.” She indicated the tables set up in the conservatory. Siobhan looked down at her delicate watch and noticed that yes people would be pouring in for the pre-screening and then the dinner, the official presentation and silent bidding. Most people hung around to talk to her for a while after that and drink. The champagne flute was placed in her right hand and she switched it to her left gracefully. “I’m acquainted with the sisters and of course Maria but who else do we have here?”
Siobhan indicated the girl with blue hair, the gentleman with brown hair and she smiled warmly her eyes sparkling. He likes her, that’s adorable. She looks a bit nervous but very pretty. She then noticed the attractive blonde that looked like he was a male version of the pretty blue haired girl. Her smile widened.Just cause I’m taken doesn’t mean I can’t flirt. He’s not going to stack up to Joel but I can still have fun. I know who is picking me up this evening. I hope his jaw drops with my choice of dress. Back to reality. Siobhan held out her hand to the trio smiling warmly.
Marinalia Romus Olympus "Mali" & Victoria Darya Romus "Vika"
Swan songs to Hesphestus Manor Art show . Saturday Evening . Park View district .
Family floor Marinalia was relaxing on the second floor, a glass of wine they had left over, not too fancy but was rather nice and meant she did not have to put up with Siobhan and the others for a bit by going down to the bar in the conservatory. Tapping away on the laptop by the TV, they had a camera feed and she used it to keep a eye on her home and get a idea what was going on before she came down. Preperation always was a advantage in hostile teritory. Siobhan was not freindly just coldly civil... Paige.. Paige was a confusing one... Was she the cop who captured Bob. Alexandria was pure business. She was not a problem and may dealings had been direct, polite and efichant.
Thinking back, she remembered the kiss, the Swan songs, little lunch and there shopping trip. She could not help but smile at the thought. It was one thing that was making her happy for once, and she was willing to protect that. Xia definitely was a rather good thing in her life for once. Thry had a alittle silly argument and so over the tickets, all silly and eventually won, Xia was very much helping her, it was only fair to be kind in return. Well that and... But she was not quite ready for that... Maybe a cuddle or abit more... That would come with time... They had kept in regular phone contact and so, Xia had quickly ended up on her favourites mode.
She had swung by, and helped Xia out by stopping by a shop for some genuine food even a box of hot Jamaican chicken chunks to toss her cave man cousin so he stopped starving on cold beans. He was a jerk, but hey, he was her jerk cousin, and we'll, blood was sometimes thicker than water.
Firday had least been fun though for some reason many trails where closed she just made her own way about. Well until she saw a clearing a car raced by the road.. The colours seemed familiar to one she saw in the paper one day. Sol had a local rally team or some race team? The name Joel seemed to come to mind regarding that one... Deciding it was safer to go round, the car was alot faster and driving like a mad person. She swore she spotted some team tents on one of the hills as she rode over a small ridge on her way back to her stream short cut.
....
Downstairs. Art event Her phone chimed on the table, vibrating away she saw a message saying Xia was close and slipped her heals back on, luckily she was not exactly very far away from home tonight! She was short, but heals... They where not worth the pain. Walking slowly down the steps finishing off her wine glass before she left. Better face the musical. Smiling with one last check of her makeup, dress and so she headed down the curved staircase elegantly as possible for a slightly nervous woman, heals clicking on the stone and a genuine smile spotting Xia in the cheeky red dress, snug on top on top but a few miles of leg and a little slit exposing the top of her thigh. That definitely one dress she would not mind sering on her again... Or off added a cheeky part of her brain that was was starting to chine In more than normal.
The... Couple from Swan songs, well ones who kinda refused each other, hugging together... Well they might not be now, but they probbly would be. They where going to a art event together... That screamed date even in a strange way! Giving them and others a polite wave as she came down. Her dress was adorable too and definitely not I want to be friends, giving a passing compliment as she walked into Xia's arms. "cute dress, enjoy the party! And Marcus, thanks... It was fun. "
Hugging Xia, who even with Marlin in heals was atchually about a more equal height even if she wore them to. It was nice to be able to kiss her without having to stand on tip toes like other she dated. Kissing her publicly and longer than before which she still found felt odd, but right.. This would take some time to getting used to, but would be fun learning. feeling soft hands against her back. "hey Xia, I'm so glad you chose that dress. It's gorgeous on you. It might not be a perfect date, but I'm sure we can have fun. Or at least afterwards... " smiling slightly nervously, and glancing over the bar seeing the taller women, her eyes flashing slightly a mix of fear and a gleam of confidence to, this was her home... Not there's. "Thanks for coming, fine... I'm scared. The artist is dating my ex, my sister scratched up her friends car, and I suspect she one who arrested man who attacked me at swansongs a while back and mum helped arrange it not knowing. My life is never simple.... Drinks? The art is not open quite yet?"
Looking back and giving the couple whom they met at the music event a wave before threading her fingers into Xia's, the pressure telling that she still had nerves, though her mother's lessons kicked in, forcing herself to be calmer as they approached the bar to a knowing smile from Maria, gold eyes telling them apart, but in facial features and figure the apple fell very close to the genetic tree, noting the slightly daring choice Xia made, but glad to see her daughter willing to back her choice with actions. "Xia, my mum, Maria, Maria my Girlfriend Xia. Victoria of course, and by the bar our artist miss Murphy, Paige from luna sportsvand her agent Ms Alexandria" slightly nervous, Girlfriend well after that snowy weekend they definitely where not friends... Thank you cold snap and one warm bed! "A little awkward, Don,t worry Im just glad Mali met someone nice in this snake pit of a city. You both look beautiful tonight." her compliment was genuine, Marinalia long white down exposed alot of one well toned leg, and Xia well she was all leg, with a nice contrast of the dark red going to her neck in a distinctly oriental twist a little short perhaps, but hey they happy and everyone else could just deal with it.
Victoria, well seeing as believing. She had not been entirely convinced at first but seeing them kiss in the far distenxe by the doors, and Marinalias hand firmly in Xia's plus she looked rather attractive if you leaned that way. Thr arrival of Paige and Siobhan had dampened her mood a alittle, and her showy move with champagne was. Showy, was all it was, the obvious threat was met by cold indifference and somewhat annoyance at how they where treated in there own home.. "Hey sis, already ahead of you. Told you not to worry. Xia, just be nice to her, she had a rough few months. " handing her a rather vibrant fruit cocktail, not knowing Xia's preference she left that one open and was slightly protective but also just happy Marinalia finally had got past her run of bad romances perhaps. It would take some getting used to but hey do had moving to America..
Seeing Paige, Siobhan and the fact other guests where arriving too, that see g Paige with a rather sharp blade made her think that it might be a long night, not that she had any issue with retiring early, home was only upstairs. Maria glanced over noting the risk, seemed her freind was just as combative ad her daughters, maybe more... Giving Alexandria a we gonna need a drink by the end of this one look before it was over. Maria was less intimidated by the display and was not the subject of her message, fancy, very fitting of decour and required some skill to perform. "Thanks Vika. My favourite. I'm sure we all want a... Peaceful evening tonight. I'm sure your work is as good as Aelxandris planning.
Sorry Xia il make it up to you later... Tonight perhaps. I'd not of asked if I expected this much trouble. Its not your problem. " with a small glance at Paige, this was her home. A nervous wreck or not it was hers, the drama... Well the last section said very quietly to Xia and then suprising her self by kissing her while everyone was distracted slighty by the stunt with a teasing little sparkle in her deep grey eyes. Least it might break the tension that you could... Well cut with a knife.
Breaking the embrace seeing the other guests coming in, gmand a alittle pink and giggly she gave a alittle tug to go to the seats once Xia had her drink.
Victoria looked over seeing a handsome guy, well he looked very much like the women in cute dress, oh.. It was Marcus from the club! So he finally got the nerve to ask someone out after all! Smiling, she remembered that night, even if it went all kinds of fucked up. "Hey, hopefully no gorilla's in suits tonight. " it had been a while, she could make light of the whole drama palava of the club night while she waited for Ethan, she did not know some of the others and gave a few polite hellos and a few she knew far too well as she sipped a decent glass of German White wine. Another look at door, she really... Really wnated someone to throw in a distraction from Hanah solo and Joels new girlfriend resisting the urge to ask of he was uncharacteristically late for the start line. Maybe he finished first in the wrong environments. Marinalia,s Little PDA certainly made her smile, her sister was back to her old self more, and wondered if she really had finally found her princess given half the prince's in Sol where... Well her experience was not exactly inspiring.
Maria gave a small glance round before getting a top up on her cocktail before going to find a seat, well drama was not lacking already, thr young couple where cute, her Brother? They where too similar was rather handsome, though a tad young for her as she adjusted her engagement ring slightly to stop clipping part of the glass where it had spun inwards a tad.
Milo stood in his bedroom still wet from his shower staring at his closet, he had been invited to that show that Siobhan was putting on, which oddly enough was at Vika and Marlins house. He already knew that Paige was going, her and Sio have been inseparable as of late and the relationship has been good for her. He and Paige have been trying to keep their own relationship steady, no thanks to his recent arrest, he never got charged or anything, but the strain of it has made him a little quiet, she had let him have some space of his own request, but he knew that he shouldn't take too much, so when she told him about the show he took it under consideration.
Milo started to get his outfit together, royal blue dress shirt and pants and a black vest over top, a silver chain hanging from the pocket leading to his watch, his somewhat modern Victorian style, he looked in the mirror, his hair done up and beard was trimmed,he had a thought for a moment and walked out into his shop. After about a minute or two of rustling around he managed to pull out a box and inside was the intricate snowflake designed cane, it was a similar royal blue to his outfit and actually matched him quite well, though it was a hair short for him, it was more for the look anyway, and since Vika never got back to him about it this seemed like it would be the only good time to get it to her. With that he took a deep breath and made his way out to his truck and drove to Hephaestus Manor.
Milo walked up to the front doors and was let in to the show, people everywhere, artwork lining the walls, all of it nice, though not really his style, in the back of his mind the only thing he could think was that the best piece of art here was still the one in his hand, but what artist doesn't think they are the best around. Milo heard the popping of a champagne cork and a familiar metallic click, as he strode over to the mass of people gathering by the bar, the cane lightly clicking on the floor, the sweet sound of silver lightly ringing, there were several familiar faces, Vika and Marlin, Paige and Sio, and many others and of course Paige was there with a champagne saber and an expensive bottle in hand. He kept a distance as they were passing out drinks, for once, he wasn't in the mood to drink.
