I just went through the IC again, and I guess I could post about answering to Cassius, Vale and David and possibly propose to move since Garret left. It feels as if we've been left with a mission and on our own schedule?

Or, Kaze could answer first since you posted right before me. Preference?

@AlternateMan@Kazemitsu The one I poked, of course.

But seriously, it is time to take charge and start exploring and stuff.

no body knows who any body is. I think perhaps introductions would be good. Cassius and Kat have stated their names but I don't think anyone else has.

So...who IS actually in charge of us? Kaze has the most experience and is the eldest...but I don't think most of the people would listen to him lol

From what I saw so far, Cassius looks like a good choice. I guess our characters will eventually get into this discussion, though.

Yep, we'll work it out IC. Assuming we even really need a 'leader' I think it'd be far more sensible to allow each of our characters' strengths be shown when they're needed. After all, we're going to be facing off against a lot of different things, what with the variable nature of the X.

I should point out that Zen will act according to the mission as he sees is necessary, and that if there's some action you don't want him to do, you'll have to talk him out of it. He is geared to attack all hazardous entities he comes across.

If there is a need for a leader, then bring it more up in the IC, mostly to give them something to discuss.

Clashing Egos tend to bring the most growth from each other, or simply highlight their weaknesses in social to directorial circumstances.

Weather you think the Tribunal is up to it, isn't too relevant here, but more of a reflection of what the players see.
What the characters see is more... interesting, more stakes to drive in.

Function wise, I designed him as support. To see... Someone thinking he is Leader material amazes me.

Granted, when I look at the other characters... There is perhaps a point to have a non-bias person make objectives clear with how things should be handled. So I can see the reasoning for it. Everyone is either "Pro Samus!" or "CRUCIFY HER!" boat.

Eh, we'll see where this goes.

Edit: I just realized something where this vaccine could go... The Federation benefits from the cells because it is the last remaining cells that belong to the Chozo Race. The Metroids, and the X it absorbs them.
(Granted,I dunno if absorbing the X truly counts to it becoming part of you... but if my speculation is as it is, then yes, you would effectively be all of these.)

But this just means the Federation also has the perfect plot to try to Harness the Chozo relics left around if they can impart that DNA onto their ranks.

Unless it was engineered in such a way to purge that.

Could even make Clones of the Chozo from the DNA left? Metroids even.

You begin to wonder if the Federation is fully doing this as a relief effort.~

You always have to wonder with the Federation, that's why I've established that there are different camps of what the powers that be do under the table. Garrett was into generating Metroids with both the Federation's resources and the Mocktroid research he seized from the Space Pirates. Other parties within the Federation were interested in the X themselves...

Funnily enough, it surprises me that the Federation hasn't tried to capture Samus before now to get DNA samples to unlock Chozo relics before now.

I think the chozo were a bit to advanced for em and possibly made it so they CAN'T just snag the dna

@Kazemitsu I wonder about that now. True, that might've been the case before, where even the aliens who had Metroids right in front of them could only create weak mutations of true Metroids, but the Federation...well... I mean, straight from the 'mouth' of Adam, the Federation was able to breed full-on Metroids with accelerated growth, capable of reaching the Omega status in a short amount of time. Whatever it was that they embued those things with, I'm guessing the original hatchling from Super Metroid lacked, since it just got BIG. The point is that the Federation may be able get Chozo DNA now, so I will say this is a valid concern that I did not think of.

Just cuz they can mess with metroids doesn't mean they can mess with chozo o3o The creatures they clone and "enhance" seem to be very simple minded judging by the games we've seen. The only exception is like...MB and Ridley, but even Ridley had been fairly mindless(animal cunning doesn't count) in Other M.

@Kazemitsu

You know, the problem is that - realistically - we only have the lore to go on to say that Mother Brain and Ridley are intelligent. Granted, a giant brain had BETTER BE intelligent, or you've fucked up. But still...it's hard to gauge just how smart the bosses in Metroid games really are because there's generally no dialogue. We, therefore, must infer from actions that Mother Brain and Ridley are Megatron and Starscream, respectively. Mother Brain is a tactical coordination leader and Ridley is an attack platoon leader. (Kraid, Phantoon, and others...we dunno.) We don't generally see direct evidence of this because most of what we DO see is that Mother Brain is connected to all the systems around and Ridley is out breaking shit...and we see them attacking you. That's not much to go on. My thinking is that the Space Pirates and all their leaders are just very alien in thought, so we don't really 'get' them.

Not important.

As for DNA cloning and all that jazz, while I do understand it may be difficult to extract pure Chozo DNA from the Human-Chozo-Metroid mish-mash that is Samus Aran, I will allow the possibility that they could harness it and use it to augment other human beings or even create new Chozo lifeforms. We have the technology to breed things from DNA now. It's just illegal and morality ambiguous to clone intelligent beings. That said, the sheep and the kittens prove the science even in our own world, so the Federation probably has an edge on things.

To be fair, Prime is the most efficient they've ever been.

They even helped Samus deal with the Phazon stuck in her that was gradually corrupting her. But.... They did have some slip ups too.

Mostly the GFS Valhalla being their biggest failure, as well as the loss of that Aurora Unit.
