Name: Ambrosine Dumortier
Alias: Stim
Age: 45
Personality: She is opinionated, independent, and very much into exploration. Many people find her a bit charming due to her confident but slightly off-kilter sense of humor and speech. She appreciates humor and wit. Her freedom with her opinion leads her to expect others to share their opinions. As such, Ambrosine is a large proponent for free speech and directness. She is an introvert but is not unsociable by any stretch of the imagination.
Appearance: Ambrosine stands at 5'4". When kitted out, she wears her armor:
Combat Armor. Her face settles into a slight scowl by default, and she rarely smiles. She only strongly smiles if laughing.
History: Following a rather uneventful childhood in the slums as the middle daughter of 5 children, Ambrosine took up a job scrounging through various scrap piles. During one of her scavenges, she found an odd engraved coin that read, "You who found this shall soon meet true Fate." Thinking little of it given how many fortune tellers milled about the slums offering false hope, she took it home with her to keep as a nice decoration. It sat on her workbench for a few weeks before it disappeared. Ambrosine figured someone stole it, and while she was correct, she had no idea who it was nor their real intentions.
The day following the disappearance of the coin, she was quietly working in the workshop alone. She was engrossed in her work, so she never noticed anything amiss. All she remembered from that night was blacking out and then waking up on a cold stone floor in a cell that sported odd engravings along the wall. Her cellmate was odd to say the least. She looked like some sort of obsidian colored demon. She had no time to further try and figure out why before she was bodily dragged out by what seemed to be humanoid lights. They dragged her before a surprising angelic looking woman who glowed with a golden light. The woman screamed something about her being unclean and fated to die. her followers reacted by dragging Ambrosine away to a torture room. They flogged her until her back was raw and ripped open. This procedure continued for what she calculated to be around a week.
During that week, in between their daily torture sessions, Ambrosine struck up conversation with her cellmate. She found out that the creature was not human and was brought there due to being considered unclean. Neither of the women knew why they were considered unclean and fit to be tortured to death, but over time, roughly a couple years, their relationship blossomed into a romance. They were so close that when her cellmate hatched a plan to escape, Ambrosine trusted her fully to put the plan into motion. They waited until their daily torture session and both ambushed the guards. The guards lacked any weapons, so taking them down was not hard. From there, the two followed the paths that they memorized to try and get into the main sanctum. Once there, her cellmate, named Ilua, told her that she had to do something. She destroyed herself to fuse into Ambrosine and also form a ritual dagger to use against the leader of the area. The combination of both women's strength led to Ambrosine entering the sanctum and stabbing the main leader to death. In that process, the magical implosion shunted her out of the pocket dimension and back into the real world. Ultralight contractors stood there dumbfounded by the sudden appearance of a human. The tear in reality closed behind her rather violently. They killed the remaining cultists while she explained, much of it at a babbling pace, how she killed their leader and found herself back in the real world. She explained the dagger and the sacrifice Ilua made. She also found the coin in her other palm, the engraving changed to read, "Use my power and never forget me, love. -Ilua"
The Ultralight contractors were careful around her at first. They took her to meet Cider under armed guard. After a lengthy interrogation process, Ambrosine was deemed safe and even fit to work for them. That was 24 years ago. Since then, Ambrosine became a street doc and tinkerer in her own shop. She also discovered the blessing or curse of Ilua infusing her essence into Ambrosine. Some other fate based supernatural events proved to be unable to detect or affect her and she regenerated from even the worst wounds. She felt no hunger, fatigue, thirst, or need to breathe. Eventually, after consulting with quite a few occult experts and practitioners, she learned that her soul, while still there and combined with Ilua's, was no longer considered a part of fate. The immortality and lack of physical needs came as a side effect of ceasing to exist in the tapestry of fate. Taking that information into account, Ambrosine doubled down on her tinkering and medical profession while working for Ultralight as a supernaturally resilient field medic.
Capabilities: Ambrosine, following a supernatural encounter, has ceased to exist within the bonds of fate. As such, she regenerates wounds slowly and is effectively immortal. She does not age, eat, drink, breathe, or sleep. She can choose to eat or drink for the purpose of medication or pleasure, but she cannot naturally fall asleep. This does not prevent knockouts or drug induced unconsciousness. Due to her regeneration, she metabolizes drugs, toxins, poisons, and other chemicals at an increased pace, so for her to self-medicate, she must reapply it more frequently, thus taking more doses than her comrades.
While not militarily trained, she did pick up some proficiency with firearms. Ambrosine favors PDWs, carbines, and handguns. For close quarters, she utilizes techniques learned from experience and application of Jeet Kune Do's philiosophies.
She has medical experience equivalent to any degree holding doc, but she has also learned how to perform surgery and medical attention in subpar conditions, with salvaged materials, and with makeshift tools.
Ambrosine is also a tinkerer. She has built her drones, armor, and any other item needed. She tinkers with items to try and create more useful items. Her skills have limits, usually tied to the tech level she can work with, that can often make her creations unstable or high maintenance. She can and does make homemade firearms, using them as her primary weapons.
Equipment: Combat Medic Armor- includes AR display for info from tools and drones for proper diagnosis and treatment, is able to withstand small arms fire for a moderate time, and is environmentally sealed when not damaged. It has multiple protective layers to attempt to extend the lifespan of the environmental sealing. The suit can filter the air for about 12 hours on a set of filters. (half that of military gear) There are numerous pockets and loops to hold drugs and tools.
Medic Bag: While normally worn as a backpack, this pack contains supplementary tools, drugs, and materials to treat wounds in the field.
Homemade subcompact 10mm handgun: Easy to find round, easy to make ammo as well. Provides power in a small package. 10 round magazine, or optionally a 15 round mag if concealment or small size are less necessary. Integrally suppressed for hearing comfort. (not silenced, just reduced noise to reduce pain on ears if fired outside her combat kit)
Homemade bullpup 10mm PDW: See above and add rifle velocity. 30 round magazine standard. Integrally suppressed for hearing comfort. (not silenced, just reduced noise to reduce pain on ears if fired outside her combat kit)
Diagnostic Drone: A flying drone used to obtain additional diagnostic info for diagnosis and treatment.
Other: She carries an engraved coin and the dagger from the event that transformed her. She often flips the coin through her fingers when resting or thinking. She is a native English speaker and fluent in both French and Mandarin. Following Ilua's fusion, she can speak an odd language, most likely the native language of Ilua. She can also write in the script of that language, though the script looks occult or demonic depending upon what the observer thinks about markings.
