Following a brutal 20 year long war, ending the use of a now identifiably volatile and unsafe energy nicknamed "Dogma", the world has entered a scientific age of industry, the Industrial Age as scholars have noted it for now. With the emergence of airships as a common form of transport, the invention of the cartridge for firearms already well-known at the time, and the birth of Magitek, has caused society to make leaps and bounds that even it's population fears being left behind. Many however recognize these rapidly changing times as the time to get busy, or truly be left behind.

Your story begins at the cusp of a new age following this era that is about to end. The individuals that will forge the era to come, as heroes, or villains, out of interest, duty, or the thrill of adventure and battle. From the bottom up you will elevate to the levels of legendary heroes and gods, the final frontier of fantasy. Become revered, for your power, for your deeds, or become feared beyond compare.

This is Final Fantasy, Reverence

(Note: It is not required to be allied or from a country to use these classes,
you simply need to have an explanation why you would have them otherwise.)

(More are being added or descriptions are being added)

STRUCTURE

The RP will be structured in parts, separated by the different nations. For example the first part will all take place in Raelin, and then Escain, and then so on. Each part ends when the major story segment ends, and everyone's characters must be moved to the next nation for the start of the next part. After the major story arc for each nation ends, there will be a grace period for everyone to wrap up business or start business that links them to the next nation. Near the end of the each story arc I will inform everyone what the next nation will be.

Though I should not yet worry about that, each story arc is while short in structure, will be expected to last a decent amount of time.

I want to stress the fact that each new nation we go to will be a great chance for people to join, or for you to create a new character.

So below is the sheet. In terms of the stats, skills etc, if you think they're bad just say. I'm flexible with regards to everything so any and all critique is great really.

The idea with the Wyvern skills is that they wouldn’t be a free move but rather that Leo would have to take the time to signal Draig to attack, as such counting as his turn.

Just as a question as well, does heavy armour provide any benefit over standard clothes? I only ask because if not I’d look to change second skin if possible.

Very last notable edit unless there's problems: Flash now causes Seizure while requiring double use for Blind.

@CaptainSully Most gear is just either minimal benefit like the frost resistance or no stat benefit, but they do play a part when playing out combat and will affect some things, otherwise there's no major benefit to regular gear. In your case, heavy armor will mean you'll be better at staying standing when sustaining heavy blows.

As a result your second class skill should be more like, zero penalty plus 10% added defense whenever using heavy armor. Up to you.

In regards to your Wyvern, it's skills will simply be as-is, as in it will not scale off of your stats. They'll be regular attacks your dragon can do, so you can assign it a number, but not a stat. I would maybe suggest making them Limit skills instead.

Next is your Restoring Light skill, that's pretty strong for a skill with value of 4, even if at the start you'll debilitate yourself using it (as per the system), because later on you'll basically be able to spam it. I suggest simply turning it into a healing skill. Revives are not common in this RP and usually reserved for the healers and high casters.

@Todd Howard I am assuming Flash deals no damage, so that does pass in that state.

Hoop is a movement impairment like Heavy right? If so then the same rules of Poison/Seizure/Bleed apply to it, just not for damage, but movement impairment.

Party Panic will require 5 Limit Points for instant Seizure infliction, but otherwise it will mainly be damage that scales when you use it.

I am assuming while singing and dancing, your ability to evade is worsened, but you are instead buffing your team mates. That is acceptable, but it means during this, your Quirky Movement will only benefit you by +2 instead.

Otherwise your character doesn't seem to have any other problems.

  • Yes, Flash does no damage. Just Seizure + 1/2 way to Blind.
  • That was the idea with hoop, and this is understood.
  • That amount in order to inflict instant seizure is acceptable.
  • Yes, playing songs and singing for a consistent amount of time requires focus. He has to refrain from using his full acrobatic abilities to play instruments and keep enough breathe to actually sing. Hell of a Show removes dodging penalties in Critical Health as a mark of desperation, and this effect only procs once per full heal. (Don't know how difficult full heals are in battle). I figured this benefits both his bard side and juggler side, but never both as he can't use Songs and Stunts in combination, only 2 Stunts or 1 Song. The decrease to Quirky Movement while using Songs is also acceptable.

I apologize if any of the wording in my CS isn't exactly clear. If anything does need to be edited into better terms, I am happy to make the edits for consistency and your ease of use.

@Sho Minazuki I’ve made the adjustments.

•2nd class skill has changed to what you have suggested.

•I have removed my original limit break and replaced it with the three wyvern moves. However I have added status effects to two of them.

•Restoring lights is now heal two people rather than revive. Negative effect still applies.

@CaptainSully For them to inflict their status effects, they require... 3 Limit Points for Fire Bolt, and 5 for Rain of Fire. Also regarding 2nd class skill, the defense buff only comes into play while wearing any kind of armor, so do keep that in mind. Otherwise looks good.

@Todd Howard Understood, looks good to me then.

I think it's safe for you two to add your characters to the Character section.

Hopefully, we'll have more people rolling in soon enough.

@Sho Minazuki ok cool, much appreciated.

Being honest and up front, the intention would be for armour at most times, being a part time monster hunter and all that. Obviously any events where he’s caught with his pants down then he can kiss the bonus bye bye

Still waiting on those characters.

That said I think I'll get the discord going again. I'll link it soon.

It'll still happen, but more players would be a bit more motivating. Few players as long as they stick with it is fine too.

This is the discord by the way. discord.gg/YkMEt42

I'll be around for the long haul unless life gets unfortunate.

If you feel the roster is too small, I could potentially introduce another character down the line. Would probably aim for a character that isn't all hero material and instead is more involved for personal gain.

Will probably have to introduce someone new later anyways, as Jenga (As much as I hope he can) Might not make it as far as I'd like. We'll see how it goes, though.

Whenever the Discord channel is up, I'll be hanging around in there for sure to talk about the RP more.

Edit:

Nevermind, there's the discord link right there now. Lol

Really love the concept (also the final fantasy universe).

Still need to read about the character sheet a bit more carefully though.

Really interested, but it's just a ward for now (until I finish reading the character sheet XD)

Double post, I know... sorry XD

But I just need to say. I finally got home (had some boring adult stuff to do T_T) and finished reading the character sheet & etc.

The more I read the more I like the settings!! <3

Before I do my character sheet though, I would like to ask which one of the following you guys would prefer:

Heavy armored frontline

Long/extreme range sniper

High mobility offensive class (We already have a speed based character, but it's more supportive)

PS: @Todd Howard I REALLY enjoyed your character! Gil Toss <3 I hope I will be able to see your character holding a big sack of coins and just freaking throw it on someone's face, insta KOing them

@13org

First of all, thank you! I'm not entirely sure how useful Gil Toss will be; As I'm unsure what sort of wealth he'll be able to come across. But I DO hope this gets to happen eventually!

As for role preference...

I think we need the range, honestly.

We have a mage, 2 pretty big front fighters, and a rogue/bard hybrid (Steal not included, RIP). I had a backup character who used guns in mind just in case Jenga dies, but she uses close to mid range weaponry, sticking to close range for the most part.

@Todd Howard

My two ideas were either a long/extreme range sniper (either using regular guns or maybe a magic rifle. Using a magic rifle would give it a bit more utility due to elemental rounds & maybe casting some long range magics. In the other hand, using regular guns would make it hit harder (balancing, since it would have a number of bullets she can fire before reloading.)

The other idea was quite literally this:

Heavy armored front liner. Expect it being really, really durable while at the same time being quite aggressive. It would be troublesome to deal with due to the heavy armor (although it wouldn't be not even a little bit mobile). It's weapon would also be an interesting addition. While it wouldn't be exactly a long range weapon (At maximum a medium range weapon if not using buckshot). Being able to shoot while using her shield to defend and use buckshot ammo to hit in an area in front of her, slugs or even explosive rounds would be really nice.)

@13org

I suppose either way it's useful; I kind of see the heavy-armored character being like a vanguard with a grenade launcher that potentially has elemental-explosive rounds (Though all-hit might be OP, so this isn't advice just a thought)

It probably comes down to what you would think of as most interesting: A character that can stay back, dish damage, and stay alive through an encounter... Or a individual that still dishes damage, but builds aggro and tanks for the small-fry with a boomstick.

I won't pass up on the opportunity for there to be more people soaking up heavy hits so Jenga doesn't have to: I was looking at a bit of difference in roles. But the concept is different enough that it still works if that's what you decide to go with.
