I know splitting up isn't ideal for the RP but I can't see Laharl looking at the bigger picture or enjoying how small and powerless he feels. He can't do what he wants if he works with the team, I can see him sticking around only until he has a way to find Etna and Flonne then those two would probably convince him to stay rather be a whiney baby. I'm trying to rationalize this but am having a bit of trouble.

@Dark Cloud

Had responded in PM but I'll add it here for discussion too

It's simple: Laharl is mostly in the same boat Mao is. Sure, in his current situation, his personality is a bit more clashing, but once he's not under Galeem's influence, he'll surely realize that his own Netherworld needs to be put back to how it was. Nobody threatens the throne (Or his friends minions) and gets away with it.

Mao has a bit more exposure than Laharl, though. He hasn't had as much crap going on, where Mao has a checklist of beatdowns that need done for the sake of revenge. Another relatable thing they could have is restoring strength however, and the Seekers are clearly getting into plenty of fights. Huge fights, even. So it's beneficial for both to stay as they can grow back to their prior strength and possibly enough more, with how spirits and such work.

Adding to that, once Laharl sees the bigger than life threat, I don't think he's ignorant enough to think of it as an easy obstacle to clear on his own. Baal had him nervous, and Galeem is worse than an entire army of Tyrant Baal's with the scope of control gathered in this new world. Teamwork doesn't have to be something he adapts to quickly, but he could probably see it as means to justify reaching an end he desires, even if he's restricted in his own actions somewhat.

In a meta sense, this would put a lot more work on Lugu, who already puts a crapton of work into the current flow of events. Short detours work out, but going completely on your own is a lot to pile onto the updates every week. I can't speak for him, of course, that's just personally how I see it

Laharl definitely will be more concerned about Galeem once he's not under it's influence, it took him (not to mention everyone else, not that he really cares) from his world and left him with absolutely diddly squat; so hell yeah he'd want to deal with this new threat. Still he will want to find his vassals, hopefully find some Prinnies along the road to find Etna.

We can probably plan to get him hearted in the near future so he can see the situation more clearly. There's sure to be another fairly large battle coming up with the two Resistance bases, so Laharl has potential to just get hearted after becoming too injured like what happened to Band and Mao not too long ago.

@Dark Cloud "Shambler spirit, Yuga spirit, spirits of Japanese demons (three apiece, selectable)." So, six demon spirits.
Some of these are going to be taken by the Phantom Thieves (likely with Lu's next post), and Potemking has expressed interest in one of the demon spirits.

I would also like a demon spirit, the Japanese one or the Yuga.

@Dark Cloud Well, there will probably be enough demon spirits for everyone that wants one. Maybe. For Yuga we'll have to see what the Thieves do

Actually I think I'll wait for Lug's next post, as it may seem more appropriate to respond after we see if a Moogle shows up or not.

I just named the teams after who's guiding them to their destination. As for spirits, since Laharl didn't participate in the Museum of Vanity, he wouldn't logically get first claim to the loot. And even Mao has been more cooperative than he. Getting a share of rewards may be another reason to cast his lot with the Seekers.

No biggie I think there was one left. As much as I hate to agree with you Laharl has been a right pain in the ass, welp hopefully next time. I was gonna yoink a spirit in my last post but felt like it would be unfair as I did make three posts. And the rewards are a definite interest to him.

Mao took one of the generic Japanese Demon spirits, which I chose as Ara Mitama.

It actually suits Mao very well, given their aggressive natures (and natural weaknesses to Ice) which is most of the reason I went with it above most of the other choices I had.

There's been something of a miscount. Yankee did request one of the demon spirits, and since Primrose was at the Museum of Vanity Primrose's claim would take precedence. That leaves only one spirit, and it looks like Mao claimed it, so there isn't an extra for Laharl.
